Hello! I am alive. Did you think the story was over? Sorry for the delay. I've been busy with so many things...like usual. To be honest I have also been very lazy when it comes to my fanfics. I've been working on my original stories...trying to get rid of my writers block. I think I broke through it somewhat. Enjoy.
Priestess of Asgard. Chapter 35: A moment of peace.
Early morning and the sun was already high into the sky. Loki peered out the window, moving the curtains just an inch apart to see what was going on. Asgard hadn't changed one bit since last night, but Aurora certainly had. He looked back at her sleeping form, little Daven was asleep in her arms as well. The older maiden sat half awake in her chair a few feet away from the bed, Aurora's blood still stained on the front of her dress. The queen had retired to her room and would not be bothered for the rest of the day.
Aurora stirred in her bed and looked fixed his gaze on her once again. He hadn't slept a single minute from last night and the circles under his eyes could prove that. Suddenly a knock came to the door and it softly creaked open, startling the older maiden. She snorted, waking herself up and seeing who it was at the door. Loki stood straight and tall, walking away from the window and standing next to the bed now. Kasy's head poked inside and a smile appeared on her face as she let herself the rest of the way in. It was then that Loki saw a small bundle cuddled in her arms. He had almost forgot that she had a baby. Kasy had been spending her days in a different part of the palace not only to keep a close eye on her but her baby as well.
"Mind if I come in?"
"You're already inside..." Loki told her.
"Miss..." started the maiden, but Loki hushed her with his hand and told her to leave. "Of course. Call me if you need me." she bowed and left the room quickly.
Kasy walked closer to the bed and found a soft spot to sit at the edge. "How is she?" she whispered.
Loki rubbed his eyes and sat down on another chair next to the bed. "She's been sleeping ever since Daven was born."
"That's his name? It's nice." she then got a somber look on her face and said to Loki, "Don't worry. She'll be just fine. I slept for a long time after I had my son."
Loki glanced over at her baby in her arms. "How old is your son now?"
Kasy looked down and smiled at her baby boy. "Thomas is four months old. Looks a lot like his father." she smiled up at Loki. Loki had nothing to say though and stared back at Aurora and his son. The only similarities he shared with his son was the fact that his hair was as black as his and his eyes the same beautiful color, but also the fact...that he was part frost giant. He crossed his arms imagining his son turning into a monster like him, his skin cold and blue with designs imprinted into his body. He could see his son crying now and cursing both him and Aurora for making him what he is, for letting him be...for letting him live. "I think you should go." Loki told Kasy.
Kasy was a bit taken aback by this but ignored any negative feelings and left the room without saying anything back. She did, however, look back at Loki and felt sorry for him. She closed the door quietly behind her then, leaving the two lovers be. As she turned she nearly bumped into Odin and apologized. Odin said nothing and Kasy walked away from him quickly.
Odin let himself into the room then and when Loki saw him he stood up quickly, his face filled with annoyance. "Get out." he said sternly.
"Cannot I not see...the child?" it seemed he was trying very hard to keep a normal conversation going with Loki.
"No." Aurora stirred in her sleep once again. "Get out. You're going to wake her."
Odin didn't seem to hear him and if he did he ignored Loki's words. He stared down at Aurora and Daven and swallowed hard. "The child and Aurora will have to be kept away from the others."
"You mean lock them up?" Loki circled the bed and faced Odin, his once loving father, now turned to a hard, cold man of lies. "You will never lock my family up as you did me for so long."
Still looking down at Aurora Odin spoke, "And you are still ignorant...greedy, rude and selfish!"
Loki wanted to smash his face into the pole of the bed and watch him bleed but instead he clenched his fists and gritted his teeth. "You have taken everything from me. Aurora and my son will never be one of them."
It was then that Odin looked up at Loki with eyes showing no care. "How long do you think this will last?" he asked Loki in a soft whisper. "Five years? Maybe ten?" he laughed quietly, mocking Loki. "Aurora is a human being and your son a demi god. Remember what I told you? Someday you will be left alone with nothing but your guilt to keep you company. After Aurora is gone how long will your son stay by your side until he grows sick of you?" Odin didn't bother to let Loki come up with a come-back. Instead he left the room a soft click to clarify that he was gone.
Aurora opened her eyes slightly then and smiled tiredly up at Loki who was looking down at her again. "Morning..." she mumbled.
Loki forced a smile. "Morning." he said back. "How are you feeling?"
"The truth?" she asked. "Amazing." she told him and tried to smile again but yawned instead. "I'm a mother now...never thought I'd love someone so much." she kissed Daven on top of the head. She then looked up at Loki and patted the bed for him to sit down. "Don't worry." she told him. "You're my favorite too."
Loki sat down right beside he and put his arms around her, holding her close and kissed her forehead. He didn't care what Odin said, he would always love Aurora and his son...his son rose a different kind of love and life from him...he just hadn't figured it out yet...
