"Saru, why don't you come in." Uzu said politely despite her expressionless face as the elder regarded both her and Kakashi for a moment before nodding his head.

Yes. Perhaps speaking in private would be for the best given what had occurred tonight.

Especially if his suspicions were right and Uzu had decided to send a message to her would be killers in some form of savagery that would have the village calling out for her death by morning.

"Of course," He said as he moved past her to step into the apartment. Leaving her outside to scan the streets and rooftops as she always did after an attack on her person. And once satisfied that there was no one left to pose a danger to her, her familiars or Kakashi...apparently...then she entered behind him and quietly shut the door and placed a privacy seal on the wood so that he could finally ask her if she was alright while indicating to the blood smeared around her lips.

Realizing that she hadn't gotten her skin clean just yet, Uzu began to awkwardly wipe at her mouth in an effort to remove the blood and started to become somewhat distressed after a few moments when it didn't come off right away because it had dried there.

Saru stood there watching as she continuously wiped at her skin until it was raw before lifting her eyes to his face with an panicked and almost pleading expression on her pretty face as her eyes started to shimmer with unshed tears.

Frowning Saru glanced over at Kakashi who had taken several steps into the living room and paused for a moment before making an angry tsking sound a mere moment before making his way into the kitchen and grabbing a dish towel and wet it and then came back and moved over to where Uzu stood and placed himself between her and the elder in an interesting action that Saru recognized as the Hatake bloodline's male action to protect their mates.

So that's the way of it. Interesting... He had thought for several years now since Kakashi had reached his twenties that he would not bother to take a mate. He thought to himself as he watched the Copy nin gently use the wet rag to clean Uzu's mouth of all traces of the blood that had been smeared on her skin a second before the man leaned down and licked her raw and sore skin before kissing her on the forehead. While he used his fingers to wipe away what few tears had escaped the corners of her eyes.

"There. All better." Kakashi said so softly that the elder had to strain just to hear him as Uzu flushed and pressed her face against the man's chest in an attempt to hide for a few moments and compose herself.

Saru felt like a pervert for being present to witness the exchange between the two, however was also happy for the two. Happy for Uzu who now had someone worthy of her love and devotion. And happy for Kakashi whom he had feared would always sit on the sidelines.

Always watching the happiness of others yet not bothering to grasp any for himself.

It hardly seemed fair.

And then of course there were the people of the village who would seek to harm Uzu. And what she didn't use her familiars for- he was sure Kakashi would be more than happy to defend his mate. Which meant that whoever had attacked tonight, if they didn't already get Uzu's warning to back off...

They would probably be getting a visit from a very, very angry Copy nin. And soon too. So perhaps he need not say anything at all.
