Eddie was the first one downstairs and in the dining hall where everyone was. He wore the suit that Rachel had bought him,with a white shirt,black blazer and black tie and black dress shoes. Eddie also wore the aftershave that Rachel had bought him. His hair was brushed to an inch of his life. Steph walked up to him,"hmm,very nice Eddie, but do your tie properly," she said straightening it for him as he awaited for Rachel.
Tom handed him the money as the whole area went quiet except for a few wolf whistles from the boys. Eddie turned around and met by a blushing Rachel,he had to swallow the lump that was in his throat as he took the sight in.
Rachel was wearing the one shouldered black dress that Eddie bought her,that covered her scar,it was knee length,she wore black heels and held a clutch bag to match. Rachel's hair was curled and make up done naturally which made her look ten years younger. Davina was stood next to her grinning and rather pleased with herself. Eddie walked up to her rather nervously,"ready?" Rachel nodded her head as they made their way towards the entrance of the hotel,"you look...wow." He cursed himself for not using better vocabulary.
"Not big on words are you Eddie?" She joked,"I did say a suit would do something for you," she chuckled as they walked towards the restaurant talking about Christmas plans.
After a delicious dinner Eddie stood up,put his jacket on before helping Rachel into her coat. Eddie smiled at her,"I've got something to show you." Rachel looked up at him sceptically but decided to keep her mouth shut,she just nodded instead.
Eddie linked his arm through Rachel's,leading her towards their destination. Rachel marvelled in the sights around her,the sun had now set and the starts were glistening in the winters night above their heads. They both looked like they were a couple,but they knew they weren't.
After walking away from their destination Rachel turned towards Eddie,her smile beaming and eyes glistening,"we need to take the children there sometime this week."
Eddie smiled at her,"ye we do."
As they walked back their hands now encased,it felt natural and comforting;it wasn't wrong,it was completely right. Eddie knew he was in love with Rachel now he knew for sure that he was way beyond being in love with her;he was head over heels,besotted in love with her. They walked passed a jewellery shop in silence Eddie glanced towards the shop window smiling. Rachel looked towards Eddie's smiling face. How could one person with a load of barriers start and let themselves fall so deeply in love with someone? She didn't know. But that's all she knew was that it didn't matter. As long as she would have Eddie by her side in anyway,she was happy and happy they both would be.
