Hey guys!

Here's chapter 34! :)

So not much important happens, but it's cute and fluffy and I thought you'd like it. Plus, I needed a filler chapter and this worked. Enjoy :)

Re-edited: 2/5/17

Thalia sauntered across the living room and scooped my son off the floor, "Happy Birthday, Logan. Look how big you are!" I smiled, watching the scene from the couch. Logan just looked at her like he couldn't decide whether to smile or attempt to get away, which I found amusing. Thalia didn't seem to notice. She continued talking animatedly to the baby in an attempt to elicit a reaction.

It was January 28th, Logan's first birthday. It was hard to believe that it had already been a year; 365 whole days since Annabeth and I had become parents, since we'd started our family. It was kind of crazy, really.

We had thrown a small party for him, though almost all the guests were adults. Jade and technically Thalia were the only exceptions. Logan didn't seem to mind though. He was perfectly content to sit on the floor and play with the balloon Leo had blown up for him. And he got sweets, so he was a happy camper.

Despite the small guess list, our living room, also small, was crowded. Leo and Calypso were seated together on the loveseat. Frank and Hazel, who had flown in for the occasion, sat on the couch together beside me. Rachel was perched behind our heads on the couch's back. Travis Stoll and Katie Gardener—soon to be Stoll—sat on the floor across from us. Grover and Juniper sat on chairs they had brought in from the kitchen. Jade sat on the floor by her mother, alternating between playing with her doll and eating the cupcake in Juniper's hand. Annabeth had just let Thalia in and stood now in the doorway, watching with an amused smile as our good friend smothered our son.

Jason and Piper hadn't been able to make it, as they'd become the proud parents of a baby girl just a few days earlier. They'd named her Isabella Skye.

"Nice of you to join us, Thalia," I said with a grin as Annabeth walked into the room and sat down in the only available spot, which just happened to be my lap. I wrapped my arms lightly around her waist and mock glanced at my watch, "You're only three hours late," I joked.

The daughter of Zeus leveled a glare at me, "Well, I guess the party can officially start then," she replied.

"It already did," I replied, "Three hours ago." There were a few chuckles.

"Fine," she replied lightly, "Next time, you can convince Artemis to give me the day off. If she didn't like you so much, I wouldn't have made it at all."

"Well, I guess it's lucky for you that she does then."

Thalia rolled her eyes, but smiled.

I glanced over at my son and burst out laughing. Cake had been served and Logan was certainly enjoying it. He was also wearing an impressive amount of it. Annabeth, following my gaze, smiled tolerantly and said, "Yeah, someone's getting a bath later."

He would definitely need it. His face was a mask of blue frosting and his hands and arms were liberally covered with it. His hair even contained some of it. He was quite the spectacle and his guests were enjoying it. Annabeth, who had been watching him eat his birthday cake with his hands, looked at me. "Only your child could make that much of a mess."

I chuckled and slung my arm around her. "My child," I said, imitating her words, "Seems perfectly okay with his mess." She just smiled.

"That's because he's your child."

"I think he has more cake on his face than in his mouth," Hazel said, still watching the baby in amusement.

"It's his birthday," Travis put in with a grin, "He can wear his cake if he wants to."

"Okay," Annabeth said reasonably, "And you can be the one to give him a bath later."

Travis' smile faltered a little there. "Nah," he said, "I'm good."

Annabeth was saved having to reply when Logan squealed as only one-year olds did, and flung cake across his high chair tray and onto the floor. "Okay!" she said, standing quickly and walking over to him, prying the next handful of cake out of his hands, "You're done!" But she was smiling. Almost everyone else was laughing or trying not to.

She unlatched the tray from the chair and carefully lifted the frosting-covered baby from the seat and carried him over to the kitchen sink, still in view, sat him down on the counter, and set to undressing and cleaning him the best she could.

"It's never dull," a grinning Leo was said as I stood up and set to cleaning up the high chair and the surrounding mess.

"Got that right," I told him.

"Percy!" Annabeth called then, "A little help here. Please?"

I glanced over at her, along with most everyone else. Annabeth stood before Logan, trying to clean him off, but wasn't getting very far on account of the baby's uncooperativeness. She had him sitting on the counter beside the sink, but was having obvious trouble trying to keep him there. He was wearing only a diaper now and was still mostly covered in frosting. She attempted to wipe him down but he simply wouldn't hold still. He would start crawling away and reposition him in place, just for him to do the same thing over again. I smirked and walked over. I could feel our guests' eyes on us as they watched the entertainment "Hold him," Annabeth commanded as I approached.

Grinning, I picked him up under his arms and stood him up so his little feet were atop the counter. He was slippery and frosting covered under my hands. He'd recently gotten the hang of standing up pretty well on his own, though he wasn't walking yet. As I held him there, he smiled widely at me and bounced up and down on the counter while Annabeth went to work. He was still moving quite a lot, but she made far more progress now.

"What are you doing?" I asked my giggling son, laughing myself. Logan just kept jumping with my help, enjoying the game.

"You know, you two," Katie called nonchalantly, "It's just not fair. You seriously have the cutest kid ever."

"I have to agree with her there," Rachel said, walking into the kitchen with a stack of dirty party plates in her hands. She threw them into the garbage.

"Rachel," Annabeth said, looking up from wiping Logan's face, "You didn't have to clean up. I would have done it."

"Exactly," the redhead replied, as if referring to a crime against humanity, "You've got enough to do." She gestured toward Logan for emphasis. "It's fine."

Annabeth smiled and sighed. "Thank you," she said, and went back to work.

"Of course."

A few minutes later, Logan was considerably less sticky and in clean clothes. He would still, no doubt, need a bath tonight, but he was presentable enough for now. I'd gathered with everyone back in the living room, and Annabeth joined us now, carrying him against her hip.

"There he is," Hazel sang, holding out her arms. Annabeth handed Logan to her and he willingly went. I wasn't sure what it was, but he had always adored Hazel. But then, she was Hazel and Logan was an easy-going baby, so I wasn't all that surprised. She sat him on her lap and handed him back his balloon from earlier, and he was the happiest kid alive.

I was seated on the floor next to the loveseat, occupied now by Katie and Travis. Annabeth sat down beside me and I threw my arm lightly around her shoulders, clasping her hand in mine. She leaned into me ever so subtly.

"So," Rachel said to us after a few minutes of scattered conversation, "Now that Logan's a bit older, are you two planning on giving him some siblings soon?"

I squeezed Annabeth's hand slightly and felt her squeeze mine in response. We'd had this conversation before. She shrugged. "Maybe. Eventually."

"Why—" I began and then stopped, looking quickly at Annabeth, who seemed to be thinking along the same lines I was, and then looked back at Rachel. "Do you know something I don't?"

Rachel blinked and then her eyes widened and she shook her head quickly. "No! No, of course not. I was just… wondering." I stared at her for another second and the looked back to Annabeth, who shrugged and shook her head. I couldn't decide whether or not I was disappointed with her answer.

"Okay then," I said, looking around at everyone else, most of who were watching Logan squirming on Hazel's lap. He had clearly had enough of staying in one place. She leaned forward and set him on the floor, and he wasted no time in crawling away after another of the balloons scattering the floor. He sat back next to it and looked to be trying to figure out how to fit two balloons at once in his small arms.

Conversations varied for another few minutes until Leo offered, "Presents, anyone?" There were murmured agreements and a few eyes landed on Annabeth, who, as always, was the one running the show. "Sure," she said with a smirk and stood to get the presents waiting in the other room. I was about to follow but Thalia beat me to it. She stuck her tongue out at me as she went in the utmost maturity. I just shook my head, smirking.

"What do you think, Logan?" Frank was asking, "You wanna open presents?" Logan just looked at him from across the floor. He had no idea what Frank was asking him but he smiled widely anyway and shrieked with delight as he did for everything lately.

Annabeth and Thalia returned then, both carrying multiple brightly-colored packages. "Come here, Logan!" Thalia sang, depositing the presents on the floor and sitting herself down beside him. Annabeth added the gifts in her arms to the pile and stood for a second, watching as the daughter of Zeus pulled the baby close and handed him one of the presents with a, "Look, this is from Aunt Rachel!" She helped him tear into it.

After a minute, Rachel, Hazel, and Katie all moved closer to them and Annabeth, apparently left the to it, stepping back and seating herself down, camera in hand, on the couch where Rachel and Katie had been a moment before. She looked at me. "Take it or leave it," she said, patting the spot beside her. I decided to take it. There was a much better view of the unwrapping up there.

Needless to say, Logan found great fun in unwrapping the gifts. He looked slightly overwhelmed at times with the many people around him and the many things happening all at once, but handled it well. He got many presents, mostly toys, but seemed more interested in the boxes and torn wrapping paper than anything else.

He did, however, glance up every few seconds to make sure Annabeth and I were still there. Every time he saw us, he would smile adorably before going back to playing with whatever it was currently in his hands.

I stood in the kitchen, cleaning up the last of the mess from the party. Annabeth was in the living room with Logan, doing the same. She walked in as I finished, looking exhausted. She leaned against the counter beside me as I threw away the last of the garbage from the day and I joined her.

We were quiet for a few seconds. "Where's Logan?" I asked.

"Sleeping," she answered, "And he never got that bath." I smiled and she added, "I'm thinking about joining him, honestly."

I chuckled and pulled her into my arms, resting my chin on her hair. "It's funny how appealing naps become after you have a baby."

She smiled against me. "Goes with the territory, I guess." We were quiet for another few seconds. "Gods," she breathed, "Can you believe it's been a year already?"

"No."

"Crazy," she murmured.

I smirked. "Doesn't that pretty much describe everything about our life?"

She pulled away slightly. "Most of it," she said, standing to rest her nose against mine, "And then, some of it makes perfect sense."

"Oh yeah? Like what?"

"Like this," she said and pressed her lips to mine.

"Actually," I said when we pulled apart, "This makes no sense at all, but I'm not complaining."

She laughed. "Good." And she kissed me again.

Thanks for reading! :)

So, in case you're wondering:

Isabella means beautiful. Skye is a variation of "sky." (haha, yeah... that was a tough one to come up with :P) It's just pretty, so... yeah.

Hope you liked the chapter. I personally kinda hate it, but I hate, like, 90% of what I write, so nothing new there. Leave a review and let me know what you thought.

Also, if you have any ideas at all for future chapters, let me know. I have an idea that I think is good and will be using, but it won't happen for at least another year or so in the story, and I figured you guys might want some stuff in between. Otherwise, I can do a "One Year Later" thing. It's up to you.

In reference to ideas, please let me know if you have anything in mind aside from more kids for Percy and Annabeth... I know you want them. You'll just have to wait and see. :)

Happy Friday, everyone! (Even if it's already kind of late.)

Next update soon! Stay tuned!
