Chapter Thirty-Six

Anakin

Obi-Wan looked at the golden halo of hair that had long since grown long, the padawan braid had dissappeared so long ago. He looked into those clear eyes, and at the glimmering smile. "Anakin," he said simply, as he looked back and forth between him and the one in the lava.

"Obi-Wan, it was my vision, it changed with the vision I had," Anakin explained. Obi-Wan noticed the yellow speeder that he had taken off the starfighter to get to where Obi-Wan was. Anakin walked on steady legs as the flames licked his dark robes. Obi-Wan refued to disengage his lightsaber.

"How do I know its you?" he said looking from one to the other.

"Come on, Obi-Wan. Remember when I 'saved' your life on Cata Nemodia. Of course you would say that didn't count."

"It doesn't," Obi-Wan said with a small smile disengaging his lightsaber. "What about him?" Obi-Wan said.

"It would be merciful to put him out of his misery. It wasn't Son-John who killed the younglings, it was him. He killed the Sepratist," Anakin confirmed. Anakin stepped closer to him. It was mortifing to see his face burning, to see him without any legs.

"Anakin, no. It's not the Jedi way. Leave it to the will of the Force," Obi-Wan said.

"You can't bare to strike him down, can you?"

"No, I can't. But it's more than that. I am a Jedi, and so are you. You are the Chosen One. I thought...I thought all was lost. How...the mechanical arm?" he asked Anakin.

"He was cloned as an exact replica. A real arm would give it away, Obi-Wan. The severed the right arm and replaced it with a mechanical one, it's not really much different than when I made Three-pio. He was in a sense programmed with whatever the Emperor wanted. We had better go."

"We can't just leave him there, Anakin."

"We must. I know it was my destiny as the chosen one to bring balance to the force. But it was your destiny to destroy him. I need to update Three-pio's programming, he's not running right lately."

"I beg your pardon, Creator, but I am fluent in over six billion forms of communication," the droid said.

Anakin smirked. "Get on the speeder, Three-pio."

"I really hate riding, Master." See Three-pio obeyed anyway. "Ready to go home, Master?" he asked.

"You know I hate flying," Obi-Wan admolished.

"Lucky for you, I love it."

"That is why I hate flying." Anakin laughed, a real laugh, and Obi-Wan was glad. He reached into the force and he felt Anakin. Anakin had let go of his fears, and this outcome had been his fear. Obi-Wan had not let down Qui-Gon. He had not failed Anakin. "You know I think this thing is going slower than usual? Getting old, Anakin?" Obi-Wan playfully teased. He instantly regreted his words once Anakin sped up, taking the most difficult turns, and turning them sideways and upside down before speeding up even more and turning rightside up.

"Don't even start, Master. I have so many jokes for you that I've been waiting to use." He noticed, Obi-Wan's panicked look and smirked, "You were saying."

"Your going to pass the ship, you went the wrong way."

"This is a shortcut...I think," Anakin said.

"I know all about your shortcuts," he said, and Anakin circled around, he was on the other side of this force-forsaken planet. "You went completly the wrong way."

"I'm deeply sorry, Master." Anakin spun back around making close calls with the flames, nearly taking them both to a molten death before opening the cockpit and landing safetly inside.

Obi-Wan remembered how they had got seprated and why Obi-Wan was on Mustafar. They had come to the Emperor's chambers and found out where the Sepratist, that they were really following him. They had found out that the war had been a con. Palpatine had controlled both sides of the war. Anakin had left, getting control of his anger. Obi-Wan had seen images of Anakin meeting with the Seperatist about the war. He had seen the location, and had wondered if Anakin had went there too. He had wondered about Anakin's dissapearance. Had Anakin been working for the Emperor? It was something he couldn't believe. So he had tried to find Anakin and he had dissapeared. Obi-Wan went to Mustafar and found Anakin destroying the Sepratist
