A/N: I'm finally here with an update, sorry it took so long! My laptop kept deleting the file and it got so annoying that I had to stop writing it again for a few days. But I pushed myself through it and finally wrote something for you all.

I think there's only going to be a couple of chapters left, simply because I want to focus my time onto some other stories and I feel as if it's the right time to end it. I'm probably going to post a few missing chapters after the story ends, so it won't be the end of summer love forever. Enjoy!

Elena was flipping through a magazine, feeling bored and annoyed. She was now 9 months pregnant, and she just wanted to pop this baby out already. She needed to pee every half an hour, and she wanted to eat everything in sight. It wasn't good. Stefan was at work, having now being promoted to a junior doctor and having his hours increased, and she really missed him. She was glad that he was slowly climbing his way up the career path, but right now she just wanted him next to her so he could whisper sweet things into her ear.

It was one of those rare days were she was alone, and it was a blessing and a curse. It was a blessing because she was free to wonder the house without anyone treating her like she can't walk, but it was a curse because she was bored. Very fucking bored. Normally her mum, Caroline, or even Klaus would be by her side, but today everyone was busy with their own lives.

She angrily threw the magazine down and stood up to get a snack, but once she stood she felt herself freeze. Oh no. Her water just broke. She started to panic, until she remembered she needed to get it together and get a hold of herself. She needed Stefan, she needed him now. She pulled out her phone and quickly hit dial on his number. The phone rang for a few moments, before he finally answered.

"Hey baby, are you okay?" Stefan asked, sounding cheery. It had been a good day at work for him and he couldn't wait to get home to Elena.

"Stefan." Elena whined, feeling the first signs on contractions. She wasn't in pain yet, she was just feeling some discomfort. Extreme discomfort.

"What's wrong?" Stefan asked quickly, sitting up in his office chair so fast he almost tumbled out of it.

"I think it's time." Elena told him, clutching onto her stomach. Both of them were beginning to panic, but neither one of them showed it.

"Stay right there, I'm going to get you." Stefan replied, grabbing his coat and rushing out of work. He didn't care that he was running out in the middle of his shift, his wife was giving birth and she needed him there.

"No I'll come to you, you're already at the hospital there's no point in coming here just to go back." Elena told him as she also grabbed her coat.

"No way in hell, you're giving birth so you can't exactly drive to the hospital. I'll be as fast as I can, I'll see you soon." Stefan replied before hanging up, not wanting to give her a chance to argue with him. He didn't care about going there and back, he just cared about her. Elena sat down on the couch, knowing that Stefan was right about this. She couldn't just call a taxi and go to the hospital, and she really needed him here with her.

She picked up her magazine again, trying to have something to do until Stefan arrived home, but all she could think about was the fact that she going into labour. In just a few hours the pain would become unbearable, and just that thought alone made Elena want to crawl into bed and refuse to give birth. But she wanted to meet her little girl, and she wanted to get rid of this huge stomach she had developed.

It was about 10 minutes later when Stefan came bursting through the door, looking more panicked then Elena did. He immediately ran over to Elena, who was already prepared to leave. She had the bag she packed for the hospital ready on her lap, and she stood up as soon as she saw Stefan.

"Are you okay?" Stefan asked, grabbing her hands.

"I'm fine for now, but we need to get to the hospital." Elena replied and Stefan nodded in agreement. Stefan helped her walk to the car, even though Elena was perfectly fine walking there by herself, and soon they were speeding towards the hospital. Elena had to tell Stefan to slow down a few times, but she understood that he was just anxious and worried.

As soon as they arrived Stefan was jumping out of the car and running over to open Elena's door for her. He helped her get out of the car and this time she gladly accepted his help, considering the pain was slowly arriving. As they walked into the hospital entrance Elena had to double over in pain, oh no, they were starting.

"What's wrong?" Stefan asked, feeling as if he was a stress ball that was going to explode any second.

"Nothing, I think the pain is just starting." Elena explained, starting to walk again.

"I'm sorry baby, if I could do this for you I would." Stefan told her, and Elena knew that if that was possible Stefan would happily take away all of her pain, even if it meant he had to go through it himself.

Stefan went to the front desk to check in for her, and within 5 minutes she was sat in a hospital bed holding Stefan's hands. She didn't know how long she was going to be in labour for, but she hoped it wouldn't last too long.

Needless to say, the world wasn't on her side. She was in labour for 15 hours before finally giving birth to a beautiful, health baby girl. Elena was exhausted, but she couldn't put her baby down to go to sleep. Stefan had crawled into the bed with her and they were both holding her in their arms. She was beautiful, and neither of them could get enough of her.

"We haven't decided on a name yet." Stefan spoke, breaking their comfortable silence.

"I think Adelaide is nice." Elena suggested, looking at her baby girl.

"Adelaide." Stefan spoke, testing the name out. "I like it, it's beautiful just like her." Stefan spoke, and Elena turned so she could gently kiss him. He had been amazing these past 15 hours. He continued holding her hand even though she squeezed too tight, he accepted all of her curses and he was there to calm her down when the pain became too unbearable.

About 10 minutes later Elena was finally falling asleep when the door to her room burst open, revealing all of her family and Caroline.

"Let me see her!" Caroline squealed, running over towards them. Caroline's mouth went into an 'o' shape when she first laid eyes on her "Wow! She's so beautiful, and she really looks like both of you combined." Caroline gushed. Elena couldn't tell yet who little Adelaide looked like the most, she was just a newborn baby after all, but she had both traces of Stefan and Elena in her.

"How are you feeling sweetheart." Elena's mum asked, walking over to her bed and grabbing her hand.

"I'm okay, just very tired." Elena replied, feeling her eyes close involuntary.

"We'll let you get some rest and we can come back in the morning." Her mum replied, and even though Caroline wanted to stay with the baby for longer she understood that Elena needed her rest.

"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow." Elena replied. Her family said their goodbyes and Stefan took Adelaide out of Elena's arms so she could sleep.

"Do you want me to sleep on the chair?" Stefan asked, snuggling his daughter.

"No, I want to sleep with my family." Elena replied, smiling the brightest smile.

"I love you and I'm so proud of you." Stefan told her, using his free hand to stroke her hair.

"I love you too." Elena replied. It only took her a few seconds to fall asleep, and she had an amazing nights sleep.

Elena and Stefan walked through their front door as Stefan carried their daughter. It was the day after Elena gave birth and she was given the all clear to go home. Her family stopped by the hospital before she left and they spent an hour taking turns to hold Adelaide.

Elena dropped the car keys down as Stefan got Adelaide out of the car seat. Stefan was anxious to drive home with Adelaide in the car, which meant he drove extremely slow until Elena had to encourage him to speed up just a little. He took extra precaution, which meant it took them almost an hour to get home, but Elena couldn't bring herself to be mad at him. He was worried about their child's safety, and that was amazing to her.

"She's out like a light." Stefan told her. He walked into the nursery they had decorated to put her down in her crib. 5 minutes later they were passed out on the couch, entwined with one another.

"How are you feeling?" Stefan asked, stroking her hair.

"I'm fine, I'm still a little tired but I'm good considering I just gave birth." Elena replied, feeling herself become extremely relaxed.

"Too tired for some alone time?" Stefan almost growled and pounced over so he was pinned underneath her.

"Stefan, I just gave birth." Elena giggled as he kissed around her face.

"And?" He joked, moving his lips down to her neck.

"I have pregnancy fat." Elena spoke, feeling a little insecure. As soon as he had time, she needed to start going to the gym. Her body has always been the thing she's most proud of, and she doesn't want that to change.

"And you still look like the most beautiful woman in the world." Stefan assured her, gently kissing her lips. She finally gave into him and wrapped her arms around his neck so she could kiss him back, but as soon as the kiss began to get heated they heard a faint cry from the baby monitor.

"The only person allowed to interrupt our sex is our daughter." Stefan told her as they both stood up, making Elena laugh as they both walked into the room to check on her.

It had been a week since baby Adelaide was born and it had been a happy week. So far all she had done was make noises, but they were cute noises. This past week they only left their house to stock up on groceries and other basic necessities. If they were being honest, they both were a little scared to take her out of the house for the first time. They had heard crazy stories on the news that had frightened the life out of them, but they decided they were going to get over that fear today and go for a walk around the park.

Elena was strapping Adelaide into her buggy whilst Adelaide was playing with Elena's hands. Stefan was watching Elena playfully nibble on their child's fingers and suddenly in that moment Stefan felt an overwhelmingly sense of pride and happiness. He had an amazing family, and all he wanted to do was show them off to the world. He couldn't believe the life he had built for himself, he had a beautiful wife and daughter and an amazing home. He had really lucked out.

He often thought about what would happen if Elena had never came to that summer camp. He would probably be sat in an office somewhere, working all hours of the day, and coming home to an empty house. He didn't like to think about those thoughts for too long, he has an amazing life and he's very grateful for it.

"We're all ready to go." Elena spoke, pulling Stefan out of his thoughts.

"Are you sure you're going to be able to handle all the walking." Stefan teased, making Elena use her body to gently shove him.

"I think I'll be fine, thank you." Elena replied as he pulled her into his side and kissed her head.

"Let's go." Stefan replied. They walked for about 10 minutes before they reached the park. They walked around the park, just taking in the view whilst Adelaide made some noise every once in a while.

"Do you want to stop and eat?" Stefan asked as they walked by a little cafe.

"I thought you'd never ask." Elena replied, making Stefan laugh. They sat down and ordered their food whilst Elena fed Adelaide her baby food they brought with them. Adelaide was trying to reach out and grab everything, including their food and drink, meaning after a while they had to move everything away from her.

"She's curious, like her mum." Stefan teased Elena.

"You're the one who gave her the curiosity gene." Elena defended, trying her hardest not to smile.

"Oh really, so do you want to explain what you were doing when I caught you snooping for your Christmas presents last year." Stefan replied, making Elena break out into the smile she couldn't hold in.

"I was just looking for a pen that's all." Elena lied, almost covering her mouth to stop herself from giggling.

"And you couldn't look for one in our office?" Stefan joked and Elena started laughing.

"I can't help it! I just wanted to see and I couldn't wait." Elena pouted, sticking her bottom lip out because she knows Stefan found it cute.

"I know you can't, that's one of the things I love about you." Stefan replied, cupping her face whilst using his thumb to gently stroke her cheek.

"I love you." Elena spoke whilst looking him in the eyes, feeling an overwhelming amount of love for this man.

"I love you too." He replied, before pulling her in for a deep guess. The sounds coming from their daughter made them break the kiss apart with laughter. Neither of them would trade this life for anything, it was perfect.
