Dallas and McKenzie had already left the car, getting the bags, and taking them into Steve's cousins house. He lived alone in a four room house... Lonely guy... At least I don't have to stay with Dallas or Darry or (thank goodness) Two-Bit. I had talked Dallas into sharing a room with Johnny and his girl. Darry, Dally, and their girls all crammed into one room, Steve and Soda and theirs in another, and Two-Bit and that strange girl on the couch. Trust me, I have everything planned out. We all filed out, and Steve knocked the door. A guy, who had a really close resemblance of Steve answered.
"Hey Steve! What's happening?"
"Hey cuz! Thanks for letting us use your house again."
"Psh, it's all yours for the next few days if ya want. I'm gonna go stay with my girlfriend."
"Since when did you have a girl?"
"Since you did." He handed Steve the keys. "I'll be back tomorrow afternoon."
We were all a little shocked that he intrusted Steve of all people with a house, especially when he's with a whole bunch of strangers. Is he high? Whatever... Steve shrugged and opened the front door. The house was a normal one and we all settled in. Quickly, we all called our rooms and I threw one of my bags in ours.
"Ponyboy, you need to get changed. We're going to the beach!" I said after Johnny and Vanna had left the room. I pushed him inside and closed the door. I waited patiently outside of the door, until he finally emerged in a white t-shirt and dark green swim trunks. I slung the book bag that I had brought over my shoulder, (I told you I have everything ready) and hooked Ponyboy's arm.
"So we're going to the beach?" Pony asked, unhooking his arm and wrapping it around my waist.
"Yeah! Well, let me talk to Darry and Dally for a second..."
"Sure, I'll be here."
I spot Darry first and pull him aside. "Darry, we'll be back by about 6:00, can you have the surprise ready by then?"
"Sure Amy."
"Thanks Dar!" I smile at him and go back to Ponyboy. "You ready?"
"Ready when you are."
"Then let's go you dweeb." I grabbed his arm and dragged him outside. "Um, where do we go?"
"Amy, are you serious? There's a sign right there."
"Uh," I squinted, but I couldn't read the sign. "I can't read it..."
"Looks like you need glasses."
"I do not!"
"Ames, you'd look cute in glasses."
I blushed. "I'd look like a dork, like you" I teased.
"Oh so I look like a dork?" he bantered back.
"Always have." I smiled.
He chuckled and wrapped his arm around my waist. "Let's go."
After walking for a while, we found the beach.
"Finally!" I groaned, sitting down, rubbing my sore foot.
"How did you get the guys to let us out on our own?" Ponyboy asked.
"You know me. What Winston wants, a Winston gets."
He smiled and shook his head.
He's so adorable.
"So are we swimming?" Ponyboy asked.
"Of course, let's go."
He reached behind his back and pulled his t-shirt off.
Okay, he's more than adorable... He's hot.
"You ready Ames?"
I shook my head and mentally slapped myself. "Yea, but I just remembered something."
"What?"
"Well, my foot is still healing and the salt water will make it sting, but I just don't want to ruin your day. Just forget I said anything."
"No, no, I'll help you. Here." He picked me up bridal style, and sprinted to the ocean.
"Pony!" I protested, "put me down!"
"I'm sorry little lady, but no can do." His took one step into the ocean and shivered. "It's cold."
I giggled. "Serves you right."
"Don't taunt the one that is holding you," he threatened playfully.
"You wouldn't."
He dunked my head in the water. "I would." Pony laughed to himself and leaned down to kiss me. He pulled back. "Salty."
I rolled my eyes. "You're such a goof."
"But I'm your goof."
I smiled. "True. Now take me back to dry land."
"Okay, okay." He waded out of the water, and set me on the sand. We walked back to where our things were. I stole his shirt and pulled it over my head. It was a little big on me, but I kept it on just to annoy Ponyboy and maybe to keep him shirtless...
"Are you gonna give me my shirt back?" he asked with mock seriousness.
"No."
He chuckled. "Fine, fine. Keep it. I know it's just an excuse to keep me shirtless."
"You wish!" I shot back.
"Come here!" he called, charging at me. I ran as fast as my legs could take me, but he was too fast. He scooped me up in his arms. "You wanna get a bite to eat?"
I giggled stupidly. "Yea."
"Then let's go." He carefully set me down and grasped my hand. We were on our way to a close by pizzeria when I almost stepped on an ugly, stupid looking turtle.
"Ew, Pony, that's the ugliest turtle I've ever seen."
"C'mon Ames, it's just a poor turtle."
"Yeah, but it's going to be eaten out here."
"Well it's a stupid turtle."
"I know Pone, should we take it back to the ocean?"
"No, it was stupid enough to bring itself out here, it'll come right back."
"True. Let's just go."
We continued walking until we made it to the pizzeria. We sat down and ordered a slice for each of us and a pepsi to share. Everything was going fine until he came.
"Amy! Amy! Hey Amy!"
You know that one "friend" that is completely annoying and won't leave you alone? Well I had one of those back at the home and surprise surprise, he's here. He sat right next to me and Ponyboy raised an eyebrow.
"Who's this?" Pony asked.
"I'm her boyfriend."
I face palmed. "Fin, we never dated."
"But we had a connection!"
"Look, I'm with that boy," I pointed to Ponyboy, "we're dating. I'm wearing his T-shirt for crying out loud!"
"So you scored?" Fin asked, looking at Ponyboy.
My face heated up and I covered it with my hands.
"N-no. I-It's not l-like that. We're o-only fourteen," Ponyboy stuttered.
"C'mon man, I-"
"That's enough Fin, please leave!" I said, quite embarrassed.
"I'll leave if you leave with me."
"Fin, I'm asking nicely. Now leave before I repeat the Timmy incident."
Fin paled. "W-well I'll catch up with you guys later then. Bye!" He walked out quickly. I giggled to myself and turned back to Ponyboy. His face was scrunched up in confusion.
"Timmy incident?"
"Something that happened at the home... I'll tell you later."
A/N: So if you have great ideas for what you'd like to happen in this story, don't be afraid to submit! I hope you guys are still reading and I hope you like it. BTW the turtle thing is an inside joke and the turtle is supposed to represent a guy that's really dumb and I don't really like that guy so... yea.
