A/N: Hello! I'm trying to write the rest of the chapters in a timely manner. With any luck, I will finish this story within the next week. Something I want to explain about this chapter. I just realized that I never wrote Kaitlyn learning Clark's secret, so just so you guys know, she knows he has powers. She doesn't know he's an alien, but she knows he has powers. I didn't really think of how she knows, but she does. With that, onto the next chapter! This chapter will be short, so I apologize.
Kaitlyn stared out the window at the yard of the Luthor mansion. After five days of being Lex's prisoner, she was sure she would never see anyone she cared about again. After everything that had happened, she knew that Lex wouldn't chance losing her again. That meant that he would keep her where he could control her. She heard the door open behind her, but she kept looking out the window.
"I've called a doctor. He's going to come see how you are doing and how your pregnancy is progressing."
Kaitlyn didn't respond and Lex sighed. He walked over to where she was standing and placed his hand on her shoulder. Kaitlyn flinched away from his touch.
"I care what happens to you Kaitlyn. I just want things to go back to the way they were. We can be a family. You, me, Joshua, and the baby. I will take care of you."
Kaitlyn refused to look at Lex. Lex walked back to the door.
"I will prove to you that I care about you."
Kaitlyn was alone for a few minutes before Lex returned, this time with Rosie in tow. Kaitlyn turned at the sound of a second set of footsteps and gasped when she saw Rosie standing next to Lex. She look unharmed apart from a few bruises on her arms. Lex led Rosie to the middle of the room before walking back out the door.
"You have five minutes," he said before closing the door behind him.
Kaitlyn rushed towards Rosie and embraced her.
"I'm so glad you are alright. I was afraid that he was going to hurt you!"
Rosie returned the embrace and sighed in relief.
"I wasn't sure what he was going to do to you either. When Chloe told me that he took you, I feared the worst. What does he want with you?"
"I think in his own head, he believes that he still loves me. He wants us to be the family we were denied when his father interfered. He's been trying to get me to tell him where Joshua is. I haven't told him, and honestly I'm not even one hundred percent sure where he is. He took you captive to persuade me into telling him. I promise that I won't let you get hurt. I will do whatever I can to get you out of here."
Rosie wiped the desperate tears from Kaitlyn's face.
"Don't worry about me. Keep yourself safe. You have a baby on the way. I already lost both my siblings. Don't take away my sister-in-law and niece too."
Their short time together came to an end and Lex returned with two men at his side. One grabbed Rosie's arm and dragged her out of the room. Lex gestured at Kaitlyn to the other man.
"Here is your patient. She's pregnant and I want to be sure that she gets the best care you can give her. I'll leave you to your work."
Lex left the room, closing the door behind him. The doctor gestured to the bed.
"Please sit down miss. How far along are you?"
Kaitlyn did as she was told.
"I'm about two months."
The doctor nodded and proceeded to do some basic tests. His bag sat on the floor near Kaitlyn's feet. She wondered if he had a cell phone in his bag. She crossed her legs, intentionally knocking over the bag. The contents spilled all over the floor.
"I'm so sorry," Kaitlyn said, bending over to help the doctor pick up his things.
She noticed a cell phone had fallen out. She reached out a grabbed it, pretending to put it back in the bag. She slipped it in her pocket and returned to her seat on the bed.
After the doctor was satisfied that she was in good health, he grabbed his bag and left the room to update Lex. As soon as the door closed, Kaitlyn walked into the attached bathroom and locked the door behind her. She grabbed the phone out of her pocket and quickly dialed Chloe's number.
"Hello?"
"Chloe? It's Kaitlyn. Lex has me at the mansion. He has Rosie too. You need to send help."
"Ok. Hold tight. I'll tell Clark where you are and he will get you out."
"Make sure he gets Rosie out first. I have to go before Lex figures out that I got the phone."
Kaitlyn hung up and went back into the bedroom. She bent over and placed the phone under the bed, making it seem like it had skittered under when she had knocked over the bag. She stood up and moved over to the other side of the bed. She had moved just in time. She could hear shouting from the hall. Lex burst into the room, a frantic look in his eyes.
"What did you do?" he shouted at her.
Kaitlyn sucked in a breath, relief washing over her.
"What do you mean?"
"She's gone. Rosie's gone."
Kaitlyn heard a loud thump from the hallway and the doors burst open, knocking Lex onto the floor. She suddenly felt arms lift her up and she was carried out of the room. Lex watched in horror as Kaitlyn was pulled away from him again.
"NO!" he yelled in anguish.
A/N: When I said this chapter was going to be short, I meant it. It was mostly a filler chapter. There's only two more chapters left of Just a Dream. I hope to update in the next few days. Please review!
