Disappearance
Kenshin sat on his bed. Slowly his violet eyes began to turn gold… and as easily slowly his patience thinned. Where was Kaoru?
She was no normal girl. She had magical abilities that surpassed his…yet he knew her to be frail and weak. Against Enishi she was no match. Multiple times she had confessed this to him. So…it was normal for him to worry about her.
She had fooled him.
Why would she ask him to bring her ice cream if she wasn't going to be here to eat it? She had wanted him to leave the apartment. Why? Was Enishi here? Did he attack while he was out? Was Kaoru all right?
Vaguely he observed the apartment again. There was no sign of a struggle or fight. Truthfully… not even the feeling of the apartment seemed disturbed.
She had left the apartment… all on her own.
Why?
In search of a precious stone
Another day started and the red-haired detective waited no longer. He grabbed the first set of clothes at hand and went out to Hiko's apartment. He had never been one to disturb his master and adoptive father but he was freaking out.
She never came home.
He passed the buzzing morning streets, ignoring the many fruit vendors who approached…all the while on the lookout for a trail of Kaoru's or Enishi's magic…but there was nothing. There didn't seem to be anything wrong.
It was so confusing.
He shook his head and continued on to his Shishou's home. It was a high class complex but it fit Hiko to perfection. The man was arrogance at its highest level. After taking the elevator he walked down a hall until he reached Hiko's apartment. He searched on his key chain for the right key and opened the door. Silently he walked in and closed the door behind him.
The apartment smelt strongly of alcohol and Kenshin was forced to stop and observe his surroundings. The room was barely lit and papers lay scattered all around. He was about to call out to his master when a loud snore drove his curious eyes to the kitchen…there sprawled on the floor slept his Master.
To be continued…
AN: Thanks for the reviews everyone! These last days my drawing muse killed my writing one and took over me. I am currently nourishing my writing muse to health again. :)
