Heyo!

Quick announcement, I actually finished a Christmas update and it will be posted when we get a little closer to that. Just like at Halloween there are two of them, one short and one longer.

That's all I got.

I don't own Borderlands.

Enjoy!

The Soldier and the Siren

You think this is Roland and Lilith? Wrong. Axton and Lilith (Sorry Roland, but it's not my fault you're dead).

Lilith lay in bed staring up at the ceiling. She let out a sigh and turned over on her side.

She wanted to get up. She wanted to do something. Anything.

But Maya, resident medic that she was, had told her to stay in bed for a week. A whole week. How she hated that blue haired bitch.

It's wasn't even that bad. Sure Jack had tortured her for almost two weeks but Lilith had been through worse plenty of times. Heck, technically she had been killed a couple of times. But Maya was having none of it.

Lilith turned over again and sighed. She couldn't sleep. But once again, Maya wouldn't let her do anything else.

There was a knock at the door.

Lilith perked up and looked toward the door.

"Come in." She said.

"Hey there." Axton said walking in to the room.

"Hey." She said with a smile. "What's up?"

"Not much. Just wanted to check on you. You're probably bored out of your mind aren't you?"

"You have no idea." She said looking back up at the ceiling.

"I'll bet. Always sucks to be off duty and sick."

"Still beats doing monitor duty downstairs though." She said with a grin.

"Well I guess both our lives suck then cause that's where I just came from."

"Shouldn't you still be doing it?"

"Nah. I got Mordy to do it for me."

"The drunk is in charge of keeping tabs on all of Pandora? Great, that can't possibly go wrong."

"Don't worry. He's sober. I promised him around a Moxxi's after he's done though."

"Of course."

Axton smiled. He moved next to Lilith's bed and pulled up a chair.

"So how you holding up?" He asked.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean two days ago you were being tortured by a psychopathic despot, a few weeks before that your boyfriend got killed by said despot, and before that you nearly killed yourself teleporting a flying city. So how are you taking all that?"

Lilith was silent for a moment.

"I think Jack's an asshole but he's dead, Roland was a great guy and I miss him but he's dead too, and I haven't collapsed from exhaustion yet so I guess that's a good sign."

Axton stayed quiet.

"Long story short I'm fine Axton."

"If you say so..." Axton stood up and turned toward the door.

"Where are you going?" Lilith asked.

"Back to monitor duty I guess."

"Why not stay a little longer?"

"I don't know... You just don't seem like you want company right now."

"It gets lonely in here. It's nice to have someone to talk too. Or maybe not talk so much..."

Axton cocked an eyebrow.

"What are you getting at?"

"What do you think I'm getting at?" She asked.

"I uh... Didn't Maya say that you should be on bed rest?"

"Wouldn't be leaving bed would I?"

"I uh... Are you trying to seduce me Lilith?"

"I'm not really trying..."

Axton backed up towards the door. Lilith got out of bed and walked up to him.

She stood close, closer than Axton was comfortable with.

"I uh..."

"Shhh..." Lilith said putting a finger to her lips.

She grabbed Axton's collar and pulled him in even closer.

"Let's go soldier boy..." She said pulling him back to the bed...

Axton bolted awake.

"You alright there?" Lilith asks from halfway across the room.

"I uh... I'm fine. Just had a weird dream..."

"You know you wouldn't have that problem if you'd stop falling when you're supposed to be working."

"Yeah... Sorry about that..."

Axton shook his head and got to work scanning for Hyperion activity.

"And we were just getting to the good part..." He mumbled under his breath.
