Thanks for the awesome reviews and all the recent well wishes. I am getting better, a few things for me to sort out in my own mind and get my emotions in check! Need a good dose of "Danny Danger" as I like to call it...but the show is not showing me that right now...so have to settle for my stories!

Fowler headed back to the small room that was doubling as a living area, Vince and Mal were stacking supplies in a cupboard. Fowler headed to Mal and slowly backed him up against a wall.

"What on earth where you doing? He could have succeeded and this whole plan would have crumbled."

"Sorry boss, but I…you said I…"Mal said.

"I said you could have your play time with him, but I did not expect you to let your guard down. How can I trust you will be strong at my side."

"I am with you, you know that. I made a mistake. It wont happen again." Mal reassured him.

"You are right…..it wont." Fowler replied. He stepped back. "My plan is far from over. I have a lot more to teach McGarrett."

"So now what?" Vince asked him, handing him a fresh cup of coffee.

"I need to run a few more errands. I have somewhere I need to be. Watch him and try not to break him yet."

When Kono got back to the office, she was surprised to see a pensive face from Steve. McGarrett was on the phone and looked stunned as he paced the floor.

"Danny?" Kono asked Chin, hoping it was good news.

"No, Eric told his mother who told Dannys mother. Steve is trying to calm her down." Chin replied.

"Mrs Williams, you know how much Danny means to me. I am not going to rest until I have him back home with us. You really do not need to come to Hawaii."

"But he is my baby boy. I cant loose him." She said.

"You wont. I promise. I will call you when I have news and get Danny to call when he is safe." Steve finished the call and looked to Chin and Kono. "Guess I was expecting that call." He said. Steve leant on the centre console, head in hands.

"This is getting us no where." He said. "Danny has been missing for days and we are no closer to finding him."

"Something will turn Steve. If we can figure out why he was at the school and track the route of the car, we might be able to….." Chin said.

"He is smart. He knows when to show his face to the camera and when to hide. He won't get caught leading us to his location."

"But the more he is seen on camera, the more we can narrow down the search area." Chin said. Konos phone interrupted them, ringing in her pocket. She answered it, walking away from the console. The conversation was short, she soon returned to the console.

"That was a friend of mine in HPD. She has some superior talents in technology. I sent her over the snippets of footage we have of Fowler and his crew in an attempt to identify the men. She managed to meld together various angles and images on the two men. She has a hit on them." Kono described. She tapped her phone and placed it on the console. The connection was made from the phone and soon a few computer generated images were displayed on the screen.

"Taking all the images and various angles we have of the men in the cctv footage, Jess has managed to reconstruct the faces of the two other men." She pressed more buttons and the images moved to actual mug shots. "The one on the right is Kayo, the owner of the gun used in Fowlers little booby trap. The image on the left is Malcolm Draxton. Arrested in 2008 for alleged rape, wasn't charged but was arrested a few months later for indecent exposure and assaulting a police officer."

"Unlikely partnership." Chin noted.

"Good work Kono. So how did these 3 meet up. We know Kayo visited his uncle at the VA, that's how he met Fowler, but what about Draxton?" Steve wondered.

"Draxton did a year in jail, but was not in the same facility as Kayo and the record for the jails show that Fowler did not visit them." Kono said.

"Does he have any connection to the Navy, marines?" Steve asked.

"Will find out." Kono said. Steve's phone rang and he answered it. "McGarrett"

"Detective? Its Mary Lowell, Mrs Fowlers neighbour. I have just seen her son return to the house."

Steve and Chin wasted no time in heading to Fowlers mothers home. The neighbour Mrs Lowell was stood in her front garden, pretending to rake the lawn, looking out to the road. As she saw the car pull up, she rushed to the gate to meet the officers.

"Thank you for the call. Is he still here?" Steve asked.

"I think so, I have not seen him leave yet."

"Is his mother back?" Chin asked, worried there might be an innocent bystander directly in the way.

"No. I am sure of that." She replied.

"Thank you. Now please go back into your home and keep clear of the windows." Steve said.

"Are you going to arrest him?" She asked.

"I am going to try." Steve replied. "Now please, stay inside your home." The lady nodded and headed back inside. Steve and Chin advanced on the house, their guns ready in their hands. Steve silently approached the front of the house. The door was closed so Steve pressed his ear against the door, hoping to hear something. It was quiet. He indicated for Chin to head around the back. Chin moved and left Steve at the door. Steve slowly moved from the front door to the window, slowly peering around and through the glass. He couldn't see anything. A sound from inside made Steve step back, out of the line of sight. The noise had come from the upper floor. He went back to the front door and gently pushed it, the door opened and he silently walked in.

"Top floor" He whispered to the advancing Chin who had entered through the back door. The men ascended the stairs, slowly and quietly, trying not to be seen. Another noise sounded from a room. Steve indicated to Chin and they headed to the room. The door was partly open, Steve took a step and in a split second he kicked the door and advanced in. Fowler was climbing out of the window.

"Stop!" Steve called. He wanted to shoot the man, but he knew he needed the man alive if he was the find Danny. Fowler was not in that frame of mind. He raised his gun and let off a shot, the bullet hit the wood door surround. Chin ducked, the bullet passing mere inches from him. Steve let off a retaliation round, hitting the frame of the window as Fowler left the view of the first floor window.

"Chin?" Steve called to his friend.

"I'm good. Did he just jump out the window?" The two ran to the window and saw a lower balcony and roof. Fowler was climbing down the different levels, a feat he had obviously done many times before. Steve wasted no time, he climbed out the window and headed after him.

"I can see what Danny means sometimes, are you crazy….that does not look safe." Chin said. Before Steve could answer, Chin was proved right. The roof under Steve's feet came away and he slipped. He fell to the lower roof stage and his body rolled and slammed into the ground.

"Steve!" Chin called. A shot sounded and hit the floor beside Steve. Steve slowly got up, shaking his head. Chin ran through the house and joined Steve outside. Another shot headed in their direction and Steve ducked behind a brick built barbeque. Chin joined him. "You okay?" He asked him noticing a streak of blood slowly falling from Steves hairline.

"Yeah…Can you see him?" Steve asked. Chin glanced around the brick surround.

"No." Chin replied. "There is a garage at the end, he is probably in there." Steve reached up to his bleeding head, blood coming away on his hands.

"We need to keep him pinned down. I am not losing him." Steve said.

"Bit of a tumble you took there McGarrett, I do hope it hurts." Fowler's voice boomed across the yard.

"Not as much as it will when I catch you." Steve replied.

"Come and try it McGarrett, I dare you." A shot came closer to Steve and Chin, hitting the side of the barbeque.

"You give me Danny and we can rumble as much as you want."

"Now why would I want to do that?" Fowler replied. He once more let off a shot and it hit the top of the metal barbeque. Steve and Chin ducked further down. "It is eating away at you knowing I am the only one who knows where he is…isn't it?" Steve grit his teeth, he wanted to reply, but he knew it was not going to help the situation. "What? No answer for that?" Another shot clattered off the barbeque. Steve looked to Chin.

"We cannot let him get away, but we cant kill him. We need him to lead us to Danny. Low shots if needed, keep him pinned down no matter what." He said.

"Back up are on the way." Chin said putting his phone back in his pocket, Steve had not even seen him get the phone out, but he is glad he did.

"Well I really wish I could stay around here and chat old times and that, but I got someone waiting for me. I think you know him." Fowler called over to them. He fired his gun again, cascading more bullets over Steve and Chins head.

"No, he is not getting away." Steve said. He braved the situation and jumped up, firing shots as he ran forward.

"Steve!" Chin called out, scared for what might be returned in their direction.

"No!" Steve called out. Chin had to look, he got up and followed behind.

"See you later old buddy." Fowler almost pole vaulted over some weed covered ledges and up and over the back fence. Steve ran at full speed to the end of the yard. He spied a set of steps, covered in vines and leaves. Steve climbed up them and found himself jumping easily over the top of the fence. The ground was a lot further then he expected, he crashed to the ground but regained his footing and ran down a small hill towards the street behind it. Chin was close behind him and joined him alongside the road. Steve was looking up and down the busy road.

"Where did he go?" Chin asked.

"I don't know. Go back the front of the house. He has to be doubling back to his car." Steve said. The two ran back around the side of the house and towards their car. Fowlers car was gone.

"How did he get around here so fast?" Chin asked.

"He grew up around here, he knows the short cuts and quick routes…..damn it!" Steve exclaimed.

They had lost him.
