Two Minds, One Choice

Chapter 37

... "Jac, hurry up I'm cold, I need a cuddle!" Jonny ordered, growing impatient as he lay in the large, spacious bed, seconds later Jac entered the room, letting in the light from the hall way, "Well, If our daughter didn't use my bladder as a cushion or a football then I wouldn't have to be running for a wee every half hour!" Jac joked, letting out a small laugh as she climbed into bed, snuggling up next to Jonny as he covered her with the quilt. "Sweet dreams, sweetheart, I love you!" Jonny said, wrapping his arms around Jac as they both got comfortable, "Goodnight, Maconie, I love you too!" Jac replied resting her head against his chest...

The next morning...

It was a cold and frosty November morning, when the dreaded alarm clock rang, loud and clear, waking up the two heavy sleepers, in the form of Jac Naylor and Jonny Maconie, only this time it wasn't a sign and wake up call that they were used to when they went to work, this was the one that they had been looking forward to for a week now, it was the day that they go to Scotland. They both let out a big stretch and cuddled back in to each other's arms. Jonny then leant over to his bedside table and grabbed his phone, pushing down any button so he could light up his screen to see what they time was, yawning as he did so, he then soon realised that time was getting on. Jonny started to wriggle around in an attempt to get a move on and leave on time for the long drive ahead of them.

"Jac, Jac sweety, it's 6 o clock, we need to leave in an hour!" Jonny said, gently shaking her as she had fallen asleep again. Jac then let out a loud groaning noise as she sat herself up,

"It's too early and too cold! Cant we stay in bed for another hour!" Jac moaned heaving herself up out of bed and in direction of the bathroom, with Jonny in tow behind her.

5 minutes later, as Jonny was taking his shower, Jac was brushing her teeth and straightening her fiery locks. Jonny then peeped around the shower curtain, admiring Jac's perfectly rounded 29 week bump, standing out proudly as she wore a tight fitted tank top and a pair of pyjama bottoms. Jac then quickly turned around, after catching a glimpse of him in the corner of her eye, with her toothbrush still in her mouth,

"What's wrong?" She muffled, before she spat out the toothpaste and rinsed her mouth before turning her attention to her man, who was only being covered by a thin and slightly translucent piece of plastic sheet,

"Nothing, Just looking at you and our little girl!" He smiled sweetly, still glowing as he said those words, 'our little girl'

Jac placed her hands on her bump and rubbed it gently before picking up her now hot hair straightened, smiling slyly as she glided the straighteners through her long hair, making sure there wasn't a flick of hair out of place.

Jonny had returned to having his shower, 5 minutes later he had turned the shower off and emerged out of the bath tub, greeted by Jac, who was standing by the door, waiting for him,

"What you looking at?" Jonny asked, looking down at his body before looking back at Jac

"Nothing, just admiring my man!... I'm going to go and make us some breakfast before we go!" Jac said, walking over to him and kissing him on the lips before walking towards the kitchen.

Jonny watched as she left the room, smiling from ear to ear.

10 minutes later, Jonny had walked downstairs, walking straight in to the kitchen where Jac was cooking some bacon and eggs.

"Something smells good!" Jonny said, as he sat himself down on a kitchen stool and watched as Jac continued to cook.

"One of us has to make an effort!" Jac joked as she turned around and smiled at Jonny.

A few minutes later Jac turned off the hob and placed the bacon and eggs on to two plates with some toast and butter, before passing one plate to Jonny and joining him at the breakfast bar.

"So how long is it going to take us to drive to Scotland!" Jac asked, taking a huge bite out of her piece of toast. Jonny finished what he was chewing before answering the question,

"Erm google maps says about 7 and a half hours!" Jonny said quickly instantly grabbing Jac's attention as she turned and faced him.

"7 and a half hours! There best be loads of service station along the way Maconie, cos our daughter is on fire with her football practice today!" Jac said, causing Jonny to laugh rather loudly at her.

The pair then returned to eating their breakfast, Jonny sat there waffling on about the many things that they could do and see whilst they are in Scotland, Jac sat there listening as she looked on her phone to see what the weather was going to be like when they get there, suddenly she let out a loud and extended gasp.

"Oh my gosh, have you seen how cold it's going to be up there!" Jac said, as Jonny laughed at her silently, knowing this was no time to be laughing at her, especially when he had to spend 7 and a half hours on a car journey with her.

Jonny then leant over to see what she was looking at, also gasping as he saw the number,

"Oh dear, I best go and pack a few more jumpers and blankets!" Jonny said, still not over Jac's reaction to the freezing temperatures of the highlands. Jac threw Jonny a sarcastic glare, smiling slightly before she turned her attention back to her phone.

10 minutes later, Jac had just finished washing up all the pots and was leaning against the side board drying her hands as Jonny was hauling all the bags downstairs and packing them into the car,

"Do you want some help? I'm sure I can handle a few bags!" Jac said, eager to help him as she saw him struggling but knew what the answer would be.

"No... i'm fine... you stay there I only have a few more left!" Jonny replied as he pulled the heavy holdall across the floor and took it out to the car,

"Jonny, I can lift a few bags you know, I'm only pregnant!" Jac said, crossing her arms like a stroppy teenagers.

5 minutes later the car was all packed and ready to go, the pair then went to the toilet before starting the long journey and went and sat in the car. They both put on their seat belts and looked at each other as Jonny started the engine.

"Are you ready, Naylor!" Jonny asked, smiling as he put the car into gear,

"I'm always ready Maconie!" Jac asked as Jonny starting to pull off of the driveway.
