HERE'S A NEW CHAPTER! Thanks for reviewing the last one! And for showing your support! So here's a new chapter! I really hope you like it :)
I own nothing!
On Christmas eve everyone found themselves on Clary's and Jace's place. They had offered the house to host their Christmas party. Everyone was welcome to invite their own family. The Lightwood kids had invited Maryse, but she had refused the invitation saying they deserved the holidays of their own to be happy. She still felt guilty for everything that Robert and herself had put them all on. Simon's parents had long ago disowned him and they no longer kept contact between each other. Magnus had no one from his family to invite, and so it was only Clary's parents who joined them.
Luke and Jocelyn didn't stay for too much, though. They left before dinner because they had plans on their own. And so, by the time Clary had taken the turkey out of the oven it was only them at home. None of them were complaining, it was perfect for them.
"Dinner is ready!" Clary announced. Alec and Izzy had already set up the table and Jace, Simon, and Magnus helped pass out all the food.
When everything was sat they all took their seats on the table. They served themselves the food and congratulated Clary for it. And then everyone started to have different conversations around the table.
"I'm sorry I couldn't be here sooner, Alec" Jace told Alec for the tenth time that night
"Jace, it's fine" Alec sighed "It was nothing serious"
"nothing serious my ass" Magnus grumbled
"Nothing too serious for him to drop out of work" Alec frowned towards Jace
"I should still have been here" Jace lamented "I'm your brother…maybe if I had been here none of it would have happened"
"Jace, it's not your fault" Alec told him softly "I'm alright now, no need to worry. Now tell me how's filming doing?"
Jace seemed reluctant to drop the subject so easily, but eventually gave in and started to talk about his experience while firming in Spain. He told them how he had the two weeks of the holidays free before he had to travel to New Zeeland to continue filming for his movie, and then they were moving back to LA for the final studio shots.
"Well that sounds exciting" Isabelle cut into Jace's explanation of his work "But Simon has bigger news!"
"There's nothing more exciting than me" Jace rolled his eyes
"Au contraire" Magnus spoke "I can list you many things that are more exciting than you"
"Clothes don't count, neither does glitter" Jace shot back
"The list is still long enough!" Magnus snapped
"Shut up both of you!" Izzy snapped at them both "As I was saying…Simon has news!"
"Well don't keep us hanging!" Clary exclaimed looking at her best friend "What are this big news?"
"Well…" Simon said looking nervously at everyone "By band was offered a record deal…We'll start recording on January"
"Are you serious?!" Clary exclaimed happily
"That's great!" Alec commented.
Everyone continued to give Simon their congratulations for the record deal. Simon had formed a band with some of his friends in High School and since then they had been looking for a record deal. They had have a few gigs on some cafes and bars, and people were starting to get to know them via youtube and their fanpage. But now they would be able to record their own album and would go worldwide, which was much more than any of them had ever dreamed about.
When everyone was done eating, they all retreated towards the living room and continued with their conversations from the dining room. Magnus and Alec were sharing a loveseat talking happily with Isabelle who was sitting on the one-seat sofa next to them.
"As lovely as this gathering is" Jace spoke standing up and interrupting everyone from their conversations "I think it's time for presents"
"I think you are right!" Isabelle said happily. She stood up as well and walked towards the tree where all their presents had been placed "As the youngest, I go first"
She smirked and started to get all of her presents. She gave Clary a small box of different coloring crayons and some charcoal for drawings. To Jace she gave some new shoes and a nice looking shirt. To Magnus she gave him a make-up kit and a beautiful silver scarf. Alec got three different shirts (one blue, one green, and one red) and some jeans that looked too tight for him. And to Simon she gave him some records he had been looking for.
"Thank you Isabelle" Clary said putting down her crayons box down "Now's my turn"
One by one each gave their gifts for each other. Clary got different art supplies and some sewing stuff for her clothes. Jace got some new sunglasses and clothes. Simon got records and more shirts with some nerd sayings in them. No one dared buy clothes to Magnus because none knew what exactly he would like, instead they all got him glitter from different colors. He was more than happy with them. To Alec most of them got him books, except from Jace who got him new lenses for his camera. Isabelle got clothes and shoes and some perfume.
Everyone was happily gushing over their presents when suddenly Simon stood up and took out his guitar from the case he had placed against the sofa. Everyone looked at him curiously and then he turned to face everyone with a nervous look on his face.
"I have something special prepared for Isabelle's gift" Simon said nervously "And I guess this is the right time…so Isabelle, this is for you"
Simon started to play his guitar and everyone turned silent listening to him. Clary and Alec shared a knowing look and turned to look at Isabelle's direction. She seemed confused, but incredibly touched that Simon was serenading her in front of everyone. And then Simon started to sing and her face broke into a bright smile.
"You'd think that people would have had enough of silly love songs.
But I look around and I see it isn't so.
Some people wanna fill the world with silly love songs.
And what's wrong with that?
'cause here I go…again!

He looked at her sweetly as he sang. Suddenly he wasn't so nervous as he has been on the beginning. His focus was only on Isabelle and she looked incredibly happy.
"I can't explain the feeling's plain to me

Ah, she gave me more, She gave it all to me.

Love doesn't come in a minute.
Sometimes it doesn't come at all.

When he was done everyone clapped happily and Izzy was smiling even more at him, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. She clapped as well and Simon just gave her a crooked smile before putting the guitar away and motioning for everyone to be silent. Everyone did and Simon turned towards Izzy once more.
"I will never comprehend how a girl like you could end up with someone like me. When we first met I fell in love with you instantly. Not only because of how hot you are, but because I knew you were special. But at that time you were some sort of fantasy for me. A far away dream I could never reach. You were so good for me, and still are. But I would never give anything up. I'm glad you looked at me, took the time to meet me, and took the chance to love me. You've made me the happiest man alive and I really hope I can make you happy as well…So, Isabelle Lightwood, would you do me the favor of becoming my wife? Say you'll marry me"
Simon took out a small box from his pocket and kneeled in front of Izzy, showing the ring to her. Izzy gasped as did everyone else. Magnus practically squealed at how romantic the whole this was. Izzy finally let the tears fall down her cheeks and she covered her mouth with her hands. Finally she nodded and Simon's face broke into a smile. He put the ring on her finger and after looking at it happily, Izzy threw herself at Simon. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him happily.
"This was just wonderful" Izzy exclaimed "I love you"
As they broke apart everyone started to congratulate them and then Izzy started to gush over her ring with Clary and Magnus.
When everything had calmed down a little bit, Alec decided it was time to give his own gift to Magnus. Compared to Simon, he had no intentions of doing it publicly. So when he found the time, he took Magnus's hand and led him towards the house's yard. No one noticed them, and if they did none commented.
"What are we doing here?" Magnus asked looking around the garden curiously
"I just wanted to have a moment on my own with you" Alec shrugged "I thought it was time to give you my present"
"Oh! Can I give you mine first?" Magnus asked happily
"You got me something?" Alec asked clearly surprised
"Of course I did" Magnus rolled his eyes and took out a small box, looking like a ring box. For a moment Alec feared Magnus had gotten him a ring and he panic filled him.
"Just open it" Magnus said gently giving the box to Alec.
Alec took it and looked at it carefully before opening it. To his relief there wasn't a ring in there. Instead there was a key inside. Alec took it out and looked at it curiously before turning to look at Magnus confused.
"It's the spare key of my apartment" Magnus said with a small smile "So you can go whenever you like…and I guess I was hoping you would consider…moving in with me?"
"You want me to move in with you?" Alec asked surprised
"You don't have to do it now" Magnus quickly explained "Just…consider it?"
Instead of answering Alec leaned closer to plant a sweet kiss in Magnus's lips. Magnus shut up instantly and kissed back. Alec leaned away soon after, leaving Magnus sort of dazed. When the designer opened his eyes Alec was staring at him happily.
"I would love to live with you" He said sincerely making Magnus broke down in a smile. "Now's my turn to give you my gift"
Alec took out a box, similar to the one Magnus had given him. Magnus looked at him funnily but took it nonetheless. When Magnus started to open it, Alec soon turned really nervous. What if Magnus didn't like it? What if it was too much?
Magnus's eyes widened when he saw what was inside the box. A ring was placed inside the box. A simple silver band with light green swirls around it. Inside of it the ring had engraved the words 'Endlessly yours'. Magnus turned to look up at Alec, speechless for the first time.
"It's not an engagement ring" Alec explained quickly "At least…not yet"
"W-What is it?" Magnus asked softly, still staring at the ring
"It's a promise ring" Alec answered with a nervous smile
"But…what are you promising?" Magnus asked in wonder
"To…always love you" Alec said "To be there for you and support you even when I know you're wrong…and to spend the rest of my life with you"
Magnus had tears threatening to spill out of his eyes. He was smiling sweetly at Alec as the photographer spoke. When the last words left Alec's mouth, some tears trailed down his cheeks, making the make-up he was wearing run down as well. Alec smiled at him and wiped away the tears with his fingers.
"The ring says 'Endlessly yours', because I want you to know that I'm yours. Forever" Alec said quietly "I'm not ready for you to show you my scars, and I'm sorry…b-but one day I want to give you my whole self because…you deserve someone who will love you endlessly. And I really hope to be that person…if you'll have me"
"Of course I'll have you" Magnus spoke wrapping his arms around Alec's neck and hugging him tightly "This is perfect…you're perfect. I love you so much"
"I love you too, Mags"
