Valentine's Day had never been a different day for Weiss Schnee. To her, it had been just February 14, just one of 365 (or 366) days in the year, and one that had no real significance. Now, don't get her wrong, she could see how people might find the day special, since it was a day to shower a loved one in love and gifts. However, with her father trying to use the day as another excuse to get her to meet with another boy, the white-haired girl found the day more of an annoyance than most people.
But as Weiss was waking up Valentine's morning, she found herself actually looking forward to the day. Of course, there were many reasons that the heiress had to look forward to today, but there was really only one thing, or rather one person, that she needed to see today.
Too bad she had to settle for a simple text message.
-morning sunshine ;)-
*morning ogre*
Weiss set the phone down as she gathered her change of clothes for school, setting them on her bed as Yang's reply came a few seconds later.
-if im the ogre whats that make u?-
*the princess you kidnapped obviously*
-well I could come over there and steal you away-
*perhaps*
There was a momentary pause.
-don't tempt me woman-
*i do no such thing*
-liar-
*only because ur a bad influence :P*
-well I do have fathers running for their shotguns-
*u say that like its something to be proud of*
-u know it ;)-
Weiss rolled her eyes.
*whatever im gonna take a shower real quick*
*and don't even say it*
-aww-
-ur no fun-
*just because im cultured doesn't mean im not fun*
-yes it does-
Weiss didn't dignify that with a response, taking her shower quickly and changing into her selected outfit after. While she was drying and brushing her hair, she continued her conversation with Yang.
*so whats the plan for tonight?*
-youll see-
*are u trying to be coy?*
-maybe-
-or maybe I want it to be a surprise?-
*I thought that was my thing*
-well I stole it-
-get over it-
*do you make a habit of stealing things?*
-only things I want-
-like u-
*u didn't steal me*
-yeah I did-
-u said so like five minutes ago-
Weiss huffed at that.
*ever hear of a metaphor?*
-probably-
*hopeless*
-who needs hope when you're this hot?-
*someone whos not as hot as she thinks*
-liar-
-u know just as well as I that im the hottest-
*so whats that make me?*
-well you are the ice queen-
The heiress rolled her eyes with a small smirk.
*I thought I told you not to call me that*
-what can I say?-
-you've got that elsa vibe going on-
*did you just call me elsa?*
-maybe I did-
-besides-
-im the fire, youre the ice-
*that makes absolutely no sense*
-yin and yang babe-
*now im yin huh*
-you really are no fun-
Just as Weiss was about to type up a reply to that, there was an insistent knocking on her door. The heiress sighed. "Come in." She called out, setting her phone aside.
Her father walked in, the man giving her a hard look at her attire. "Why do you insist on wearing those low class clothes?" He asked, his voice somewhere between exasperated and annoyed.
The white-haired girl huffed. "Because it's comfortable." She answered easily, her brushing not slowing. "Did you come here to argue about my attire, or something else?" She countered, her voice flat.
The older man narrowed his eyes, a silent growl in his throat. "I know about you're plans for tonight." He started dangerously. "I also know that you've refused to take heed of my ultimatum." He added in mild annoyance.
Weiss frowned, but only slightly. "I think I should be the one to decide what to do with my life." She explained simply, trying not to let her anger get the better of her.
Her father chuckled sinisterly. "How foolish." He commented. "You fail to see just how much your 'relationship' is costing this company."
The heiress huffed. "No, your treatment of faunus is costing this company." She countered flatly, her voice not raising though she wanted it too. "You think the White Fang is attacking you for no reason?"
At that, the older man let out an audible growl of annoyance, taking a step closer. Weiss gave him a hard look, one that he easily returned. "You would make excuses for those animals!?" He snarled. "You would blame me for what they have done to this family!?"
The heiress nodded. "Since it is your fault, yes." She replied easily. "Perhaps their methods are extreme, but does that really surprise you? Decades of what amounts to torture and being worked to death, and you expect them to be grateful?"
Her father paused, not speaking. Weiss huffed. "If you aren't going to say anything else, I have to get ready for school." She informed after a moment.
At that, the man chuckled, almost diabolically. "Keep thinking that, girl." He started lowly, turning to the door. "One day, you'll see them for the monsters that they are." With those words, he left, the door closing behind him with a dull thunk.
A moment went by before the heiress hear her phone beep, a text arriving.
-u there?-
*sry father was here*
-oh-
-whatd he want?-
*nothing really*
*just trying to bully me into what hes always wanted*
-dick-
*that's too kind*
-im in the presence of a princess-
*like that's ever stopped u before?*
-I at least like to think I have some decency-
*you must lie to yourself a lot then*
-u see this is why you're the ice queen-
*love u 2*
-but 4 real-
-am I gonna have to rescue u?-
*as much as I appreciate the sentiment, I'll be fine for now*
*but thank u*
-alright-
-but if u need me 2, just let me know-
*I will yang*
-im heading out now-
-cya when u get to school-
*same*
-luv u-
*love u 2*
Weiss let out a breath as she set her phone back down. It was 6:40am, about an hour before school started. Yang probably had some basketball stuff to do, and softball training was starting up, so Ruby probably had some obligations, too. So it made sense for the two to head out earlier than normal, if it was only by a few minutes.
The heiress was done preparing for the day when she heard a knocking on her door, much too soft to be her father. "Come in, Winter." She called.
The younger Schnee stepped in, already dressed in her attire for the day. After a moment, Winter gave a small smirk. "So, I guess father didn't like your plans for tonight." She commented in mild amusement.
Weiss returned the smirk. "Of course." She answered easily. "Whatever it is, I'm sure it's loads better than whatever he had planned." She added with a chuckle.
The younger sibling chuckled, leaning lightly on the edge of Weiss's dresser. "Probably." She agreed. "So, what does Yang have planned for you?" She probed, her voice taking the 'nosey little sister' tone that Winter didn't use often.
The heiress chuckled, shaking her head. "She hasn't told me." She answered simply. "And besides, why would I tell you if I did?" She added amusedly.
Winter shrugged. "Hey, I'm not allowed to ask?" She countered. Weiss nodded. "No fun."
The heiress huffed in fake exasperation. "I'm plenty fun." She defended.
The sky-haired girl openly laughed at that. The heiress was about to give the girl a playful scolding when their father called out. "Girls, get down here!"
Winter immediately paused. "Ah, shit." She breathed, turning on her heel and stepping out.
Weiss huffed. "Language." She teased, following her sister as they headed downstairs. Just before they reached the bottom, the younger sibling turned and stuck her tongue out, getting a soft laugh from the heiress.
However, that laugh disappeared when they were in the presence of their father. He was in the lounge, sitting in his chair. On the table in front of him, there was a folder of what Weiss assumed were files relating to the company. At the sight of the two, he sat up straighter. "It has recently come to my attention that I am needed at our Mistral offices." He explained succinctly, his voice even.
Weiss didn't care what could've drawn his attention, but Winter was much too kind for her own good sometimes. "What's going on?" She asked.
The man huffed. "White Fang attacks have increased over the last few weeks." He answered, some venom in his voice.
The younger sibling flinched slightly at the words; Weiss knew that Winter was of her mind regarding faunus, so the younger sibling was probably perturbed by her father's snappy remark. "What's this have to do with us?" She asked after a moment.
The older man sighed. "I will be leaving behind instructions with Kiefer." He started, leaning over and grabbing the folder before him. "I will expect both of you to do exactly as he says."
Weiss withheld a sigh, instead trying to keep a straight face. Her father noticed this and narrowed his eyes at her. "That means no meeting with that girl." He added flatly, not allowing any room for argument.
But the heiress knew how to make room. "If I want to hang out with my girlfriend, then I will." She countered easily, a small frown on her face.
The older man groaned, leaning back in his chair. "What you will do is spend the weekend with Fade." He continued, unperturbed by Weiss's comment. "When I return, we will began the plans for the public announcement. I will expect nothing less than your acceptance."
Weiss rolled her eyes. "Too bad."
Her father gave her a hard look. Winter, seeing an argument brewing, decided to change the topic of conversation before things got out of hand. "What am I going to be doing, daddy?" She asked, trying to sound curious.
There was a moment where the other two were stuck in their stare-down, but the father eventually relented, turning to Winter. "You will be learning about our logistics department." He explained, handing the younger girl a couple of papers from the folder. "Amethyst has already been informed on the details. You are to meet with her after school at the warehouse."
The younger sister looked the papers over. The logistics department was perhaps the most important department of the SEC. They were the ones that handled the transportation of the raw materials that were either used or created by the power plants. Weiss had learned a little about it a few years back. It seemed that now was Winter's time.
But there was something wrong about this. To be sure, the logistics department was sometimes passed down to the children of the previous CEO, as it had been with Amethyst. But Winter had, for the last few years, been learning about the financial side of the company. Logistics were important in finances, but not enough to warrant paying the warehouse a visit.
If Winter was confused by this change of pace, she didn't show it. "Yes father." She breathed, looking the files over.
The man chuckled. "Your aunt will be eager to see you again." He added after a moment. Before anything else could be said, the front doorbell rang. "That would be Friedrich." He said, leaning back. "You may leave." The two turned and were ready to leave. "Weiss, a word."
The heiress paused mid-step, Winter giving her a confused look. Weiss shook her head, letting Winter know not to worry. After a second, Weiss turned around, not hiding the mild annoyance she was feeling.
Her father leaned back in his chair. "I know what you're planning, girl." He said suddenly, his voice hard.
Weiss let out a hard breath. "What of it?" She countered, her voice flat. "I'm going to spend Valentine's Day with my girlfriend. That's the whole point of it all."
Her father chuckled, leaning forward slightly. "You foolish, foolish girl." He breathed. "Do you really think that you can defy me and not face any consequences?" He added.
The heiress narrowed her eyes. "If you do anything to Yang…"
The man smirked. "You'll do what?" He goaded, challenging the heiress to make a move. "Besides, it's not like I can't just decide that you're 'unfit' to take over the company." He added suddenly, his voice sinister.
Weiss gave the man a curious look before her mind put the words together. Why else would he have Winter doing something she hadn't been groomed for? "You wouldn't dare…" She half-hissed.
Her father's smirk grew. "Me? I'd do no such thing." He feigned innocence. "But tell me, Weiss. Would you allow your sister to take the fall for you?" He questioned evilly. "Would you put your own selfish desires over your sister's feelings?"
The heiress shook with barely contained anger. "You would call me selfish?" She accused, her voice thin. "I have never shown any disdain to taking over the company."
A chuckle. "And yet you refuse to do what is the best for it."
"Marrying a faunus so you could look good is not the best for our company!" She countered.
That got her father's smirk to fade. "'Our company'?" He parroted, his voice almost stunned. "You are not even a woman in age. This company is far from being yours, let alone no longer being mine." He reminded, his voice suddenly very flat.
However, Weiss simply chuckled. "If I'm going to inherit it, then I would rather not have to pick up your shit." She countered easily. "In that regard, it's my company all the same."
The man gave her a hard look. "It will only be your company when I say so." He said evenly. "You forget your place."
The white-haired girl huffed, but her father wasn't done talking. "Tonight you will meet with Fade, and you will spend the weekend with him." He continued, his voice giving no room for argument. "If you don't, then I'll have to look into…other options." He added after a moment.
Weiss gave him a hard look. "I will meet with who I want." She started, her voice equally hard. "And secondly, Winter will never go along with your plan."
Her father smirked. "Are you willing to take that risk?" He asked tauntingly. At that moment, the younger sibling came down from her room, bags in tow. "You don't want to keep Friedrich waiting."
The heiress let out an angry breath, but decided against continuing this conversation, heading upstairs and grabbing her things. Her father thought he could get to her by using Winter against her. It was, however dirty, a good strategy. Weiss wouldn't let her family suffer for anything that she did, even if it meant getting back at her father.
But this was a conundrum. On one hand, she wanted to protect Winter from what she had to go through because of her father's twisted ideas. But, on the other, there was Yang. She wasn't going to stop seeing Yang just because her father told her to. But at the same time, she wasn't going to let her father turn Winter into his heir.
As the heiress entered the car, bags and all, Friedrich spared her a quick but professional hello. Weiss returned it, then turn to face her sister. "You do know what father's trying to do, right?" She asked, her voice careful but not showing her worry.
The younger girl nodded, looking wistfully out of the window, her eyes reflecting back at the heiress. "Yeah." She breathed, her voice soft. "I'm not an idiot. I know that only the heir is supposed to learn about the more intimate parts of the company." A heavy sigh. "I'm not angry, you know." She added, almost remorsefully.
Weiss gave her sister a curious look. "What do you mean?" She rebutted quietly. It wasn't that she didn't want Friedrich to hear them; he'd never listen in on a personal conversation; she just didn't understand Winter's response. "How can you not be angry? Father's trying to push you into the same stuff he's put me through." Her voice, though not loud or forceful, did have some fervor in it.
The sky-haired girl chuckled softly, turning back to face Weiss. "Weiss, you've been fighting father for the last six years." She reminded gently, a soft smile on her face. "I always assumed that he'd get tired of it and start looking at me, especially after you started dating Yang." She paused a moment, then let out a breath. "If this happens, you'll be free. You could do whatever you wanted."
The heiress shook her head. "I'm not going to let you do this!" She half-shouted, the words finding strength that she tried to keep contained. "I never wanted to leave the company behind. I knew I was going to inherit it one day." She continued, her voice difficult to find. "That hasn't changed. Father's trying to get into my head. And he's starting to use you to do it." A hard, angry sigh.
Weiss's growing anger was dissipated when she felt a ginger touch on her shoulder. "He's trying to make you feel guilty about seeing Yang, right?" Winter asked carefully. The heiress could only nod. "You don't have to do this by yourself, sis. I'm not gonna lie; I never wanted to take over. Sure, I could handle running a part of the company, but not the whole thing. I knew that was for you." A soft, mirthful chuckle that Weiss mimicked.
After a moment had passed, though, the younger girl sighed. "Yang must mean a lot to you for you to keep defying father like this." She continued, her voice softening. Weiss nodded almost entirely on instinct. "I don't want you to change anything with her for my sake."
The heiress let out a teasing snort. "Like I would."
Winter smirked. "Have you gotten any ideas on what to do? Anything to counter this?" She asked after a moment.
Weiss thought a moment. Currently, her father's ultimatum was simple; meet with Fade for the weekend, or Winter will become the new heiress. She didn't see an easy way to circumvent this, since Arktos would more than likely keep close tabs on the two to ensure that everything went according to plan. In other words, meeting with Yang was a large risk.
Still, the heiress wasn't going to let that risk keep her from her girlfriend. So, she turned to her younger sister. "I'm not going to do anything." She said simply. "Father probably expects me come up with something to defy him, but I'm just going to act like nothing's wrong."
Winter nodded once. "Alright." She breathed.
Weiss frowned minutely. "I'm not going to subject you to father's whims." She continued, her voice ginger. "Father is trying to use you against me. I have to show him that nothing he does will change my mind. I'm not going to go through with his plans, nor am I going to let him make you the heir." A short breath. "For now, just act normal. I'm the one he's trying to get at. I seriously doubt that he'd throw away years of planning just to get to me."
The younger sibling nodded once, a quick gesture that was barely noticeable. "Let's hope he hasn't changed." She mused just as they pulled into Winter's school.
Weiss watched Winter leave with a slight pang of hurt. If this was what her father was trying to do, it was working. The heiress didn't want to bring her sister into the equation; it was between her and her father. But, things were changing. Her father was become more…calculated in his methods.
The trip to Signal was done with quiet reflection. The more Weiss thought about it, the more she started having doubts. Her father wanted to get to her, and she was determined to show him his plans weren't working. Weiss was calling his bluff; she just hoped that was all it was.
It was about seven when she arrived at Signal, sparing a quick goodbye to Friedrich before rushing to her locker. If it was like any other day, Yang would be there. Of course, this wasn't just any other day, something that the heiress had nearly forgotten until she saw the blonde standing at her locker, a small bouquet in one hand and a card in the other.
The change in the heiress's mood was immediate; the small frown she had worn upon arrival melted into a genuine smile as she wrapped her arms around the taller girl and pressed their lips together. Yang chuckled into the kiss. "Rough morning?" She asked against Weiss's lips.
When the white-haired girl pulled away, she nodded once. "You could say that." She answered softly, kneeling to get into her locker. "My father is threatening to name Winter as his heir if I don't spend the weekend with Fade." She explained, her voice flowing from annoyance to worry.
Yang let out a short hum. "Wow." She breathed, getting a short nod in reply. "Sounds bad."
Weiss sighed. "Thankfully, he's out on business for the weekend." She added, standing back up after grabbing her binder for the day. "But enough of that." She dismissed the somber mood and looked between the blonde's two gifts for her.
At her cue, Yang straightened up. "Right, right." She mumbled, clearing her throat quietly. "Happy Valentine's Day, Weiss." She spoke, extending the hand that had the bouquet first.
The heiress took it, bringing it to her nose. They were daffodils, white and yellow, and smelled fresh and a little damp. "They're beautiful, Yang."
The blonde chuckled softly. "Yeah." It sounded like she was trying to keep her composure. It wasn't often that Yang was flustered like this. The heiress found the situation cute, a word that didn't normally describe the blonde. "I also got you this." She continued, extending the card forward.
Weiss took this, looking it over. Yang's first gift was somewhat thoughtful; this one was less so. "You've got to be kidding…" The heiress drawled, looking the card over. It was a Frozen card, if the Elsa and Anna on the front were any indication. Judging by the thickness, it was one of those cards that sang, too.
She didn't need to open it to know what song it was going to play, either.
Yang's previous jitters seemed to fade away at the amusing reaction that the heiress had. "You like it?" It seemed that the blonde's sarcasm had also returned.
The heiress just huffed, putting the card away. That got the blonde's smirk to fade slightly. "Aw, you're not gonna open it?" She asked, her voice sounding hurt. However, the smirk that returned a second later betrayed her words.
Weiss rolled her eyes. "I should've known that you'd do something like that." She mused, but without any malice. The flowers were a thoughtful enough gift to outweigh the joke card. "I guess this is the part where I give you my gift." She continued, reaching into her bag and grabbing the gift that she had got the blonde.
Yang's eyes were full of intrigue as the heiress fished for the gift. It was a small, heart-shaped box, only slightly bigger than a full-extended hand. It was red and wrapped in a clear plastic, and judging by rattling it made, there were probably some chocolates inside.
However, what made the gift what it was wasn't the chocolates; if that was what the heiress wanted to get, she could've done much better. No, the reason for this particular gift box wasn't the contents, it was what was on the front; a cartoon frog, arms outstretched as if jumping, with a caption box that said, 'I'm toad-ally yours.'
Yang's resulting laughter was heard throughout the school.
Classes had never been boring to Weiss Schnee. She had always found the strength of will to power through even the most boring lectures, which with her choir teacher was a daily occurrence. It didn't matter if the material or topic was pointless; the heiress would take studious notes, her eyes darting between her folder and the teacher.
But today, with the plans that Yang had in store, classes seemed to take forever to finish. Even the classes that Weiss found enjoyable seemed to take much longer than usual. The anticipation was starting to get to her, and she could hardly focus on her classwork with how often her mind had wandered to later this afternoon.
Of course, as payback for the heiress's tight lips on their Christmas date, Yang was divulging absolutely nothing about the day, other than they'd be meeting at Yang's house before they went. Whatever it was Yang had planned, she was going to keep it a surprise.
On the surface, this didn't bother the heiress much, but she couldn't help but interrogate the blonde any chance she got. She didn't want to be spoiled, especially given how much thought Yang had put into this, but at the same time, she had been dealing with surprises of the bad kind for a while. Her being apprehensive was reasonable, if entirely unjustified.
After what had felt like ages, the final bell for the day rang out, and with it came the mass exodus of students trying to get home for the weekend. Some, like the heiress herself, were headed to meet with their other halves and share in the day together. Weiss made a beeline straight for her own locker, where she knew Yang would be waiting.
Indeed, she saw the familiar messy mop standing next to her locker, chatting with Ruby and Blake. As the heiress approached, she received a small wave from the other couple "So, Weiss, ready for tonight?" Yang asked as the heiress was in earshot.
The white-haired girl nodded once. "You'd better hope it's worth it." She teased, kneeling so she could return her unneeded supplies to the locker.
The blonde chuckled. "I'll have you know that I'm plenty trustworthy." She countered, leaning against a nearby locker. "When have I done you wrong yet?"
Weiss smirked. "Considering your last idea for a date was your best friend's birthday party…" She drawled, getting a small chuckle from Blake.
Yang's smirk didn't fade. "That's only because if I took you on a real date, there'd be no way you could resist this." She motioned to herself, emphasizing her generous bosom.
The heiress rolled her eyes. "In your dreams." She countered.
A wider smirk. "Every night."
That finally got to the heiress, a silent groan leaving her lips. "So, how've you two been?" She asked, directing the conversation to a more suitable topic.
Blake shrugged slightly. "Fine." She answered simply. Ruby nodded in agreement.
To that, the blonde gave the pair a look over. "So, Blakey…" She started, her voice sweet, but only audibly. "What are you planning to do with my little sister?"
Weiss let out a groan. "Yang, don't." She warned, her voice low.
The faunus, however, smirked. "Nothing that concerns you." She replied, her voice even.
Yang huffed. "Don't even think about it." She warned, her own voice lowering.
Ruby let out a groan. "Yang, stop." She chided. "What I do with my girlfriend is none of your business." She added.
The blonde gave her sister a hard look. Ruby just smirked. "What, I'm not allowed to do what I want with my girlfriend?" She questioned, her voice falsely innocent. Weiss had to suppress a laugh at the double entendre that the younger girl's words held.
The change in tone made the blonde sigh. "Great, you've ruined my sister…" She mused towards Blake.
The faunus smirked. "No, you did that yourself." She rectified, getting an agreeing nod from Ruby. "So, when are you two planning on heading out for the night?" She asked after a moment.
Weiss shrugged. "I dunno. She hasn't told me anything." She informed, a slight hint of annoyance in her words.
Yang smirked. "Hey, can't you just trust me for once?" She countered.
The heiress chuckled softly. "Well since you haven't given many reasons to…"
Ruby chuckled. "Burn."
Yang glared, mostly falsely, at the younger girl. "Hey, I'll have you know that I have yet to screw something up." She informed proudly.
The heiress nodded. "Yes, but that implies something to screw up." She reminded amusedly. "You forget, I'm the one making most of our plans."
At that, the blonde deflated, if only momentarily. "Ah, whatever. You'll just have to trust me on this one." She said simply.
Blake gave the heiress an apologetic look. "I'm sorry in advance."
Yang glared at the faunus, but the bell rang out after a moment. "Well, guess that's our cue." The blonde announced. "Gotta head out now. Can't spend all day here."
Ruby chuckled. "It might do you some good." She teased, getting an eye roll from the blonde. "Alright, see ya later, Weiss!"
The heiress shared a farewell wave to the other couple, then followed Yang to her motorcycle. As they did, the blonde put an arm over Weiss's shoulders. "So, what exactly was your father trying to do?" She asked after a moment.
The heiress tensed, but a soothing squeeze by the blonde relaxed her. "Well, he told me that I had to spend the weekend with Fade, or he was going to name Winter as the heir." She explained. She had told Yang about the situation, but nothing more than the basics.
Yang nodded. "Okay. But he's on his way to Mistral, right?" She continued her questioning.
Weiss nodded in reply. "Yes. Something came up that 'required his attention'." She explained.
"So how would he know if you didn't spend the weekend with Fade?"
The heiress sighed. "Arktos probably." She breathed.
As they reached Bumblebee, Yang let out a breath. "Well, let's not worry about that right now." She suggested, handing the heiress her usual helmet. "Today's Valentine's Day, and that means that this day is about us." As the blonde set the helmet on Weiss's head, she placed a small kiss on the heiress's lips. "Just relax."
Weiss let out a breath, willing herself to do just that. With a nod, she wordlessly climbed onto the back of the motorcycle, feeling the familiar rumble in her chest as it came to life. Just before they started moving, Weiss let out a short breath. "Thank you, Yang."
The trip to Yang's house was quiet, save for the roar of Bumblebee's engine. Once they arrived, the blonde led the heiress into the house. "So, we've got about an hour before we need to head out." She said simply, moving aside as Ember made his way to Weiss as usual.
The heiress sighed, taking a seat on the couch as she lazily pet the dog. "Okay, so what is the plan until then?" She asked.
Yang shrugged. "Well, I've got to take a shower." She informed. "And you've still got to get changed." She added. Thankfully, Weiss was let in on this part of the day, and she had a change of clothes brought over after Blake's birthday last night. "I'll take my shower first."
The heiress nodded, sharing a quick kiss with the blonde. After a few moments, the sounds of the shower running filled the air, and Weiss decided to get changed herself. She made her way to Yang's room, finding the clothes hanging in the closet.
As Weiss was changing, she noticed that the card that Yang had gotten her fell out of her bag, landing face-down on the floor. What was odd was that the card was not playing music, as it should've if it was open like this. As Weiss picked it up, she noticed that there was a piece of paper taped to the inside of the card, folded up to keep it from sticking out.
The heiress peeled the note off and unfolded it, immediately noticing that it was Yang's handwriting. It was a much neater form of the blonde's usual chicken-scratch, but there was no denying that it was indeed Yang's.
Weiss
Surprise, huh? You actually thought that I would buy you one of those singing cards? Aw, you know me so well. Sorry to disappoint you.
Joking aside, I know you probably won't open this card for a while, so these words are probably a few days (or weeks) out of date. But, I hope that when you do finally read them, they'll mean just as much to you as they do to me.
Weiss, you are the most amazing person I have ever met. Every day I am reminded just how lucky I am to have you in my life. Every day I find something new about you that I love. Your hair, your eyes, your laugh, the glasses you hate wearing, even your scar. Everything about you.
But more than anything, I love you; Weiss, the person. I feel as if you are a part of me, a piece of a puzzle that I never knew was missing. But now that I've found you, it feels as if my life is complete. It feels as if I'm complete.
I probably won't be able to accurately put into words just how much I love you, Weiss. There just isn't enough paper or time in the world. I can only hope that the numbered days will be enough to show you how complete my love for you is.
Your love, forever
Yang
Weiss felt her heart swelling with each passing word she read. She knew that Yang had a way with written word, and this might not be a Shakespearean sonnet, but it was perhaps the most heartfelt thing she had ever received in her life. Unshed tears were starting to blur the heiress's vision, and she had to bring her free hand up to clear them from her eyes.
"So you found it, huh?"
Weiss turned to see the blonde standing at the door, her back leaning against it. "Took me a while to get the music thing out without damaging the card." Yang continued, her voice amused. "If I don't ever have to hear that blasted song again, it'll be too soon." She chuckled.
The heiress, however, didn't mimic the laugh. She couldn't say anything. The words were dying in her throat. How could she even hope to match what Yang had said?
The blonde took a seat next to the heiress, putting a hand up to cup her face. "You know, you are the most beautiful person I have ever met." She started, her voice soft. She brushed a stray lock of hair away from Weiss's face.
The heiress cleared her throat. "I thought you always called me cute?" She asked, her words weaker than usual.
Yang chuckled. "Well, yeah, you are." She agreed, placing a soft kiss on the heiress's forehead. "But you are so much more than that." A smile. "You make me the happiest person on the planet, Weiss."
Hearing the words and not reading them was enough to cause a tear to spill over. Yang leaned over and kissed it away. The simple tenderness of the action broke the dam of emotions Weiss had been vainly trying to hold back. She threw her arms around the blonde, bringing their lips together into a passionate kiss.
Despite being full of emotion, it was Weiss that led the way through the kiss, her tongue being the first to seek entrance. The action was met with a restrained moan from the blonde, which only served to drive the heiress further.
It was only when the two fell backwards, Yang on the bottom and Weiss on top, that the heiress became vaguely aware of the situation. She had been in the middle of changing, so all she was wearing was her bra and panties. Yang, however, had yet to change into her clothes, and she only had a towel covering herself.
At the shifting of positions, the two broke apart. Both girl's faces were flushed, but whether it was from the intensity of the kiss or the situation they were currently in, neither knew. Weiss half-expected a sarcastic or vulgar comment. It might've made things easier.
But, instead, the blonde gave the heiress a tender look, brushing away a few more stray locks. "Are you sure?" She asked softly.
Weiss's mind should've been flying a million miles an hour, unable to process anything given the position she found herself in. But, for the first time in the last minute, her mind was completely clear. She answered by leaning down, taking in Yang's lips for a brief moment. "Yes."
Lips found each other again, this time with more intent. It seemed that being given permission broke whatever had been allowing the blonde to be submissive; Yang was the one to take control of the kiss, her tongue gaining entrance before the heiress could completely comprehend what had happened.
The result was a very deep moan resonating from the heiress, causing her cheeks to grow hot. But her mind had been taken over by more base urges, and if she cared, she didn't know. Instead, in reply, she ran her hands down the blonde's sides, feather-light touches that elicited a similar, but much huskier, moan from Yang.
Hands continued to roam the other, teasing but never going the whole way. When the two broke for breath, Weiss was allowed a better look at the blonde's face. Lilac eyes that normally shone with kindness instead glistened with something different. Something…primal, but not in a concerning way. It also seemed that Yang was not completely immune to flushing, her entire face and much of her chest turning a vibrant pinkish hue.
It was as though an entire conversation was held in their eyes, and the heiress's had obviously given permission, because Yang leaned in and placed her lips over Weiss's pulse, the action drawing a sharp, hissing moan to her lips. Yang continued her ministrations, each kiss bringing the previous sound back to Weiss's lips.
As her lips took care of Weiss's neck, Yang's hands began exploring more of the heiress's body, starting with her back. Calloused fingers moved with careful determination, almost impossibly soft as they traced random shapes on the small of Weiss's back. An overload of sensations that the heiress had never known filled her mind. She had a working understanding of the act of sex, but books and words could only prepare her for so much.
After a few moments, Yang pulled away, the absence of pleasure bringing a soft, unbidden whimper to Weiss's lips. At that, a very familiar smirk hit the blonde's lips. "Needy much?" She teased.
Weiss tried her best to sound indignant. "Is that all you've got?"
An eyebrow raised at the words. "No, ma'am." She countered easily, getting a weak glare from the heiress. Yang answered that by lifting her leg slightly, her knee placing pressure on the apex of Weiss's legs.
Weiss would never admit it, but the moan she let out was entirely unladylike. That had felt incredible. The blonde smirked again. "Ohoho, found your sweet spot." She drawled, her voice taking a seductive timbre. The hands that were around the heiress's back moved up until they found the clasp of Weiss's bra.
It was then that Yang gave the heiress a softer look. "You're sure?" She asked again, a final confirmation.
The heiress had to refrain from rolling her eyes. "A little late to be asking me that now, don't you think?" She countered easily, her own voice a much huskier timbre than usual.
Yang seemed to agree with that logic, her fingers immediately grasping both sides of the clasp. It only took a few deft movements before the fabric protecting Weiss's chest fell away.
And that was when the door flew open. "Yang, have you seen my-"
It was almost impressive how quickly the heiress moved away, grabbing Yang's comforter and wrapping it around herself. "RUBY ROSE HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF KNOCKING!?" Weiss shrieked, her voice shrill.
The younger girl was frozen stock still at the doorway, either unable or unwilling to move. "Wh-wh-wh-wh-wh-" She stuttered, as if completely in shock.
Weiss glared at the dumbfounded Ruby. "Get out! Get out! Get out!" She cried, pointing away.
Of course, Ruby didn't listen. Instead, as if the gods were trying to make her die of embarrassment, Blake approached. "Weiss, why the hell are you yelling?" She asked, before taking a look at the scene before her; Weiss huddled in the corner wrapped in a blanket, Yang laying on her back, dressed in only a towel with Weiss's bra resting on her chest, and Ruby completely frozen.
A devious smirk grew on the faunus's face. "Are we interrupting something?" She chuckled, her words barely coherent through her amusement.
So far, Yang had remained quiet, perhaps as still as Ruby had. The heiress let out a thin breath. "Blake Belladonna, if you do not take your girlfriend and get out neither of you will see the light of the next day." She hissed, her voice dangerous.
Blake just nodded sarcastically, still laughing. "Alright, alright." She conceded, pulling the younger girl away from the door enough to shut it.
There was a moment as the two were left in silence, the only sounds being the other couple leaving the house. The heiress wanted nothing more than to curl up in a ball and never move again. But that wouldn't serve to do much.
Besides, her bra was still laying on Yang's chest.
So, it was with a hard sigh that the heiress spoke. "Yang, could you pass me my bra?" She asked, breaking the awkward air that had settled around them. Her voice was raw, but whether it was from yelling at Ruby or lust, she didn't know.
The words finally broke whatever stupor the blonde had been in. "What?" She started, before the words were finally processed. "Oh, yeah, here." She grabbed the clothing and handed it over. Weiss had to contort somewhat to grab it without the comforter falling away.
"Thanks." Weiss slipped the fabric back into her self-made cocoon, sliding it over her shoulders before locking it back in place.
A few moments went by in awkward silence before the blonde finally broke it. "That was…almost a thing…" She breathed, still laying on her back.
In the heat of the moment, Weiss hadn't given a second thought to what she was doing. But now that the moment had died, looking back on it brought a fierce blush to her cheeks. "Y-yeah, it was." She agreed, her voice small.
The words drew Yang's attention, the blonde sitting up. After a moment, the blonde frowned. "Is something wrong?" She asked smally, the words almost foreign on her lips.
The heiress gave the blonde a curious look. "No, I'm fine." She answered easily. She was a bit annoyed, and extremely embarrassed, but that was to be expected after being walked in on while about to make love.
"O-oh." Yang breathed, the words soft. "Are you sure?" She asked again after a moment. "Did I do something wrong?"
Weiss shook her head immediately; how could she think that? "Yang, no." She said, scooting closer to the blonde, the comforter falling away. "Oh god, no. I love you. I love you so much." She continued, cupping the blonde's cheek as if to emphasize her point. "It's just…thinking about it is a bit..." Weiss sighed. "That's not exactly something I've routinely thought about, okay?" She blurted out after a moment.
There was a beat of silence before Yang chuckled softly. "You're missing out." She teased, sounding more like her usual self. "There are plenty of people who've fantasized about this." She motioned to herself and, mostly, her chest.
The heiress's face flushed again, and she gave a short cough. "Y-yes, I'm sure." She stumbled. "However, I don't have to fantasize." She added, her mouth running a few minutes ahead of her brain.
A blonde eyebrow skyrocketed, a devious look on her face. Weiss decided against undoing what she had said, instead leaning over and placing a soft kiss on the blonde's lips. "But not now. The mood's passed." She added, her voice more her own.
There was a brief moment where it looked like Yang seemed dejected, but faded as quickly as it had come. Instead, a more genuine smile etched itself on her features. "Okay." She breathed. "Take your time. I'll wait until the end of time for you."
The heiress nodded once. "Thank you, Yang." She returned, leaning over and kissing the blonde again. Compared to what they had been moments away from doing, this was nothing, but it was still just as loving as ever. When they broke away, the heiress sighed. "I'll let you get changed now." She said after a moment, stepping off the bed to gather her change of clothes.
Yang audibly smirked. "Aw, you sure you don't want to watch?" She teased, sitting up on the end of the bed. "You were about to see it anyway."
The heiress didn't face the blonde, mostly to hide the blush that was so severe she could feel it in her eyes. Instead, she let out a hard sigh. "You have no decency." She breathed, rushing out of the door before anything else could be said. Instead, she headed to the bathroom, intent on taking a very cold shower.
