Lilyshadow woke up in the middle of the night. She had noticed Whiteslash wasn't around the camp in the morning or the afternoon. Going to the warrior's den, she poked Oakfur.

''Hm? Lilyshadow?! What are you...'' Oakfur asked, startled by being awaken in the middle of the night.

''Where is Whiteslash.'' The she-cat mewed.

''Oh he left to find Flowerheart and bring her to us. A few cats saw him leave.'' Oakfur replied, yawning.

''Go find him.'' Lilyshadow mewed, glaring at the cream tom. ''We can't let him do something stupid and die. We still need him for our final battle.''

''B-but... Alright.'' Oakfur said, getting up. ''Do I have to go right now? It's almost dawn.''

''Yes. NOW!'' Lilyshadow hissed. The cream tom flinched and ran as fast as he could towards the forest.

Returning to the leader's den slowly , Lilyshadow thought to herself

*I can't let Whiteslash go away now. We need him for our final battle. Besides I won't be much of a help with these kits. I might as well abandon them if they get in my way.*

(Meanwhile)

Deadstone was sitting on a tree branch, thinking about the recent event.

Even the strong she-cat couldn't sleep. The thought of loosing another clanmate was frightening. She didn't want Flowerheart to be alone again.

Whenever the yellow she-cat was sad, Blazeclaw was always there for her. Whenever she was attacked by the mean cats of the clan, Blazeclaw was there for her.

Now that she had a big responsibility coming towards her way, it would be better for her that Blazeclaw stayed by her side.

*She might loose her mind if Blazeclaw dies...* Deadstone thought to herself, closing her eyes and remembering that day.

(Flashback)

It was on the day Stonefang died. Deadstone went to tell her the news.

''S-stonefang is d-dead.'' She studdered. ''I-i'm so sorry Flowerpaw.'' Deadstone said, as she watched Flowerpaw's eyes get wet and her body start to shake.

''N-no. He can't be dead. YOU ARE LYING!'' Flowerheart, hissed at her mentor.

''It's true! I'm sorry Flowerpaw!'' Deadstone mewed.

''B-BUT HE T-TOLD ME HE W-WOULD TEACH ME H-HOW TO C-CLIMB A TREE'' Flowerpaw mewed between sobs ''He promised he would help me...''

Deadstone went closer to her apprentice to comfort her.

''S-STAY AWAY FROM ME!'' Flowerpaw said, scratching Deadstone.

The she-cat's eyes widened. She had never seen Flowerpaw acting like this.

''Y-YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE ONE THAT DIED INSTEAD OF HIM! '' Flowerpaw yelled, growling.

''F-flowerpaw?'' Deadstone mewed.

''DIE! DIE! DIE ALONE IN A CAVE!'' Flowerpaw yelled. The apprentice was fueled with anger. She hissed at her and ran into the woods.

''WAIT! FLOWERPAW! COME BACK!'' Deadstone yelled while running after her, but the apprentice was fast. Soon she lost track of her.

''Flowerpaw? WHERE ARE YOU?'' She yelled in the middle of the forest in panic. Her apprentice meant a lot to her. She had lost a big part of her family and saw Flowerpaw as her own kit since Lavenderstar didn't have enough time to spend with her as a leader.

She was a rather lonely cat. Moonmist never had time for her as well. They were always so busy taking care of the clan.

The only one she had of her family was Stonefang.

And now he was gone, she had finally snapped.

(Back to our time weeeee)

*If she acted like that with her brother's death only as an APPRENTICE... Imagine how would she react as a full grown warrior.* Deadstone thought.

Suddenly she heard a rustling sound coming from a few bushes. Making sure she wasn't spotted by the Wind Clan cats, she went closer to the sound, her claws already set to attack.

She then saw something unusual. It was a black and white tom arguing with Oakfur.

''Wait...'' She mumbled, but stepped on a stick and the two toms noticed her presence.

''Deadstone?'' Oakfur mewed, tilting his head. Whiteslash hissed and threw himself at her, biting her. ''WHITESLASH! STOP!'' Oakfur yelled.

''She is a ThunderClan cat. We can't let her go alive.'' Whiteslash growled. Deadstone was able to release herself from his grip and attack him.

Dodging every attack, Whiteslash chuckled at the elder, then getting ready to strike her neck, but she dodged and went towards him.

The fight seemed to never end. Thinking about all those clanmates that he lost, all those friends he betrayed, Oakfur was in between helping Whiteslash or regaining his friends's trust. For a second, his heart wasn't tamed by Lilyshadow again.

''STOP!'' Oakfur said, aiming to attack Whiteslash

But he missed

And then

All that Deadstone saw

Was red

Before she died.
