As Kira and Lee came outside, Clementine ran to Lee throwing her arms round him, "Lee!" Clementine shouted in glee.
"Hey girl! What have you been doing!" Lee asked happily.
Kira laughed, "What did I tell you Clem." Clementine beamed up at Kira.
Clementine grabbed Lee's hand bringing him towards a moss covered shed, "Me and Kira have just been exploring... and look! Look what we've found!"
Lee laughed as he came towards the shed, looking at Kira, "Thank you."
Kira gestured towards the shed, "Ah, you'll be thanking us in a minute."
As Lee reached the shed, his mouth fell open in awe and shock, "This has been here the whole time?! Holy shit!"
"Swear." Clementine added as Lee's face turned to a grin.
"Kenny, you've gotta come see this!" Lee exclaimed, excitedly.
Kenny ran out to the shed, followed by Ben, Kenny's face slowly joining Lee's expression. Ben looked at Kira in delight, picking her up and spinning her around, joyfully.
Kenny and Lee laughed as Kira landed on the ground in shock, and at Ben's crimson face. Kira began to laugh too now, and Ben slowly joined in as Kira embraced Ben in a big hug.
Kenny looked at everyone, "Looks like we're getting out of here after all!"
Lee paced up and down the living room, peering out sometimes. Kira sat on the couch with Christa, holding her hand. Molly stood watching at the window, her hands on her hips, sighing when Lee came past.
The Doctor, Vernon, made his way down the stair. He scratched at the white hair that sat towards the back of his head. Lee stopped pacing for a moment, "How's Omid doing." Lee said as he continued to move.
Vernon looked up at Lee sighing, "As well as can be expected under the circumstances. I did what I could for him, cleaned out the wound. But he's got a real infection, running a fever. Without antibiotics..."
Molly turned around, "Will you quit pacing? You're making everyone nervous."
Christa raised her voice, "Why are you even still here?"
Molly let out a short laugh, "Hey, if your friend really can get that boat working, you're taking me with you as payment for saving your asses. I figure that's fair enough, don't you?"
At this moment Kenny came inside, with Ben towing behind. Lee turned to Kenny, "Well?"
Kenny let out a long, audible breath, "You want the good news or the bad news?"
Lee gestured his hand around the room, "I think we could all do with some good news."
Kenny nodded, "Good news is the boat's seaworthy enough. In pretty good shape, mostly."
"Mostly?" Kira asked.
Kenny looked down briefly, "That's the bad news. Gas tank's empty and her battery's dead. We need to fix both before she's taking us any place."
Christa turned her head, "Well how're we supposed to get that stuff?"
"Sounds like Crawford is the one place that has everything we need. Maybe we should try there." Lee suggested.
Vernon's head shot up, his face frowned, "Now hold on a minute..."
Christa stood next to Lee, supporting his plan, "Surely we have to try. If there are people left in the city who are still alive, who still have supplies... what harm can it do to ask?"
Vernon stood up now too, "Trust me, you don't know these people, I do. You showing up with a wounded man? Might as well put a noose around his neck. They don't exactly welcome children with open arms, either."
"What the hell kind of place are we talking about here?" Christa asked horrified.
Molly stepped forward, "The worst kind. But I don't see what other choice we have."
"And just how exactly do you figure we do this?" Kenny's voice was louder than anyone else's, causing everyone to turn to face him, "Because from what I've heard, that place aint exactly friendly to outsiders."
Molly leant on one hip, crossing her arms, "That's putting it mildly."
"There's got to be some way we can sneak in there undetected." Lee said shaking his head in thought.
Vernon spoke quieter, "There might actually be a way. I know the sewer system that runs beneath Crawford like the back of my hand. Y'all wouldn't happen to have a map by any chance?"
Lee reached into his pocket, "Yeah, actually..." Lee lay out the map on the coffee table in the middle of the room.
Vernon smiled, "I think I could lead us through so we could pass under the perimeter and right into the center, where the keep their supplies. We come up right underneath them, take them by surprise, grab what we need and get out before they can even knew what hit them!" Vernon added triumphantly.
Molly let out a small laugh again, "That's actually not the worst idea I've ever heard. I mean it's close, but I don't know... maybe it could work."
Vernon nodded, "I've thought about it before, just never had the people to do it. But I think if we all work together, we could pull it off."
Kenny frowned, "And what do you want in return for all this help you're giving us?"
"Crawford doesn't just have what you need for your boat, they're also well-stocked with medical supplies. Medicine that my people could use, just as yours could."
Everyone looked to Lee. Christa stepped forward, her fist clenched, determined, "We can do this. We have to!"
"Let's do it. We can do this" Lee addressed the group.
"Hell yeah we can!" Kenny added resolute.
Ben edged forward, "Are we seriously talking about this? I mean, what about the risk?" Ben asked nervously.
Kenny shot around to Ben, "I don't know about you, kid, but I'd rather take a chance on doing something than just sitting around here, waiting to die. That boat out there's an answered prayer, we just gotta push a little bit further. Are you in or out?"
Kira looked at Ben, C'mon say something Ben... the right thing...
"We should go tonight, under cover of dark. I'll go let my people know, give you all a chance to prepare. I'll be back before midnight."
Christa stepped forward, "Be careful."
Vernon laughed, "That'a how I'm still alive."
