Not really sure what the next step should be. More Chase and Molly. and more action. Of course the ringing of the blue bell.
With every step that Ozari took to try to stop Molly, her resolve only hardened. This last attempt on her life had been daunting, but it had failed to make her afraid. She knew that she had a strange power over the Frost King. As much as he tried to deny this, or overcome her, he coudn't. It was more than mere coincedence that she had survived the most recent attack. She would have never believed that before she moved to the island, but she certainly believed it now.
The week had been exhausting trying to rebuild her home. People had come out in droves to help, but it had still been tiring. The one person who had kept his distance was Wizard. Molly was learning that he was unlike humans. He would come when she was in danger of dying, but any other time, he would be absent. There was something oddly comforting about his strange quirks. He was not social, but he did care, even if he tried to make it appear as he did not. She had picked up the shambles of her house. Ozari could take her house but not her home and her spirit. He had tried, but he was clearly no match for Molly.
Then there was Chase. The man continually surprised her. She had stayed with him over the last week. She had discovered how much of a grouch he was in morning, especially before he had his cup of coffee. He liked to play his flute in the afternoons. She hadn't expected these little things to be do endearing to her. He was sarcastic and witty, and she loved it. She was quickly finding herself falling for this man.
She had dated before, but usually after a few weeks she would get bored. But something about Chase held her attention. Maybe it was the the heat of the summer. Although summer was slowly starting to wind to a close, and fall was settling in. Molly feared the winter. She wasn't sure what she would do. She wondered if Ozari's power would become stronger with the colder season. Wizard had not mentioned anything, but there was always the possibility.
When her house was finally finished, everyone who helped brought over dishes they prepared and had a huge picnic in celebration. Molly sat on a blanket next up Chase, Luna, and Gill. Tonight she was happy. There'd been no sign of Hamilton for a week. The agents were actively looking for him, but he'd retreated in hiding again. For tonight, Molly was just going enjoy the company. She smirked, as it seemed Luna and Gill were more cuddly than she'd ever seen them she wondered when Luna would realize that she did love Gill.
"When are you going to look for a blue feather?" Luna asked Chase directly. Molly coughed on the bite of salad she'd just taken.
"Really Luna," Gill chided. He threw her a look only Gill would get away with giving her. Chase merely smirked.
"How do you know I haven't already?" Chase asked. His tone just sarcastic enough to make one wonder if he were serious. Molly knew that the custom around here for asking one to marry them was presenting them with a blue feather.
"Don't encourage her," Gill scowled, Molly could see he was attempting to hide a smile, yet failing miserably at it.
"I think it's a valid question!" Luna exclaimed. Molly and Gill shook their heads. Chase just continued to smirk.
"Well you'll just have to wonder," Chase replied. He took a large bite of orange pie. Luna folded her arms in front of her. This was clearly not the answer she was looking for.
Hamilton stared at the party of people at Molly's house. He'd sapped most of his energy trying to burn down her house, and she hadn't even been in it! He needed to lie low and plan his next move. He couldn't succeed in killing her. Perhaps he would find another way to stop her. Right now, though, he could do nothing. So he watched the party in anger, seething about the fact that the town had abandoned him for her. The ice had overtaken his heart. He hadn't even realized it. He was beyond wanting to revive the island, and now only wanted revenge. That was the only thing that would satisfy the intense hatred enough. He would show this town that he had been right!
Wizard searched through the entangled Fugue Forest and surrounding area. He hadn't been home for a week, he was looking for Hamilton. He knew with Hamilton's acceptance of Ozari, the human's body would slowly deteriorate. It would slowly freeze. Even though he didn't care, he knew the dangers if that happened. Ozari would have full control. Wizard needed to find him so he could administer the potion he'd made that would prolong his freezing. It was too dangerous for Ozari to have complete control of a human. Even if Molly was more powerful than he.
"Stop thinking about Molly," he whispered to himself. He could hear the commotion of the picnic close by. He knew if he were to attend, he'd probably be welcomed at this point. But he decided to stay away. He had no desire for further interactions with humans. His interactions with Molly had distracted him enough. At that moment he stumbled over Hamilton who was passed out. He must have been spying on the party. He quickly administered his potion. That would give them at least another season. Hopefully Molly could finish ringing the bells by then. Wizard quickly retreated. He knew Hamilton would be too weak to be a threat. Even if he'd announced Hamilton's presence, they would only be able to keep him locked up for so long. It was easier to fight him when he was on the outside. Molly was safe for now, that was l that mattered. He turned back towards the Town, making sure to stay hidden in the shadows.
