Edge began to make his way to the ring with Lita right by his side. He slid into the ring and grabbed Lita and gave her a big sloppy kiss. They both posed for pictures while Lita hung all over Adam. With the way they acted in the ring you would never have thought they didn't talk to each other off camera. The reason for that was Adam walked in on Lita and Dave Batista sharing a shower after their mixed tag match. And it didn't look like much showering was being done.
John was standing outside the ring near the announcers table waiting for Edge and Lita to finish their entrance. This was the last match he was going to have before his title shot at the pay per view this Sunday. John climbed back into the ring and took off the military dog tags he wore around his neck. He gave them a kiss and handed it to the referee. He pulled off his shirt and threw it into the crowd. Of course all the women went crazy, including some of the men. The ref signaled for the bell and the match began.
They started to circle the ring sizing each other up. Seeing who was going to make the first move. Edge rushed up and got into John's face doing some trash talking, which he refers to as his specialty. He slapped John hard in the face and started to turn toward the crowd to brag about what he just did. When he turned back John gave him several hits to the face and chest. They were both really selling the match. The crowd was going crazy. This feud between John and Edge had been going on for a few weeks and was going to come to an end at the PPV this coming Sunday. Since the wedding was going to be coming soon, at the ppv John was suppose to get injured and be out for the next three months. So we could have the wedding and our honeymoon. The honeymoon is going to be a month long.
Despite John kissing me before he headed out to the ring I was still feeling anxious and very uneasy about the situation and how I hurt him the night before.
The match was going really well and the fans were going crazy. Edge hit John with a hard forearm into the turn buckle. John was really selling the move to the crowd. Edge climbed up on the second rope holding John in the corner while giving him several shots to the face. Edge began bragging to the crowd once again and rolled out of the ring and started to pose for pictures with Lita. It was so ridiculous but really funny to see. Adam could really get the crowd going. To me he was a perfect heel.
With Edge out of the ring it was allowing both men to catch their breath. Once Edge climbed back in ring John gave him a kick to the gut and put Edge up on his shoulders to give him his signature move. The STFU. Edge was laid out in the middle of the ring. John was about to give Edge the Five Knuckle Shuffle when Lita jumped in the ring and laid on top of Edge to stop John from doing the move. John started to argue with Lita. She got up and got close in his face and slapped him as hard as she could. While John was shaking the hit off she then ran the ropes and gave John a hard drop kick to the knee. Lita ran to the top rope and gave John a Twist Of Fate. A much as I hated Lita I could not deny she was a great wrestlers. Better than some of the men. With Lita working on John, Edge was able to get himself together and shake off John's moves. Instead of covering for the three count Edge pulled John up and pushed John into the corner. Edge started to give John hard shots to the face and the abdomen. With each shot the top turnbuckle looked like it was loosening up.
"Is that normal. For the turnbuckle to be moving like that?" I asked Jason one of the stage hands that was watching the match on the monitor.
As the words left my mouth I saw Edge back into the opposite corner of the ring. He drop low and started to run towards John to give him his signature move. The Spear. The move has been known to give some of the guys bruises on their abdomen from the impact. John was speared so hard the turnbuckle collapsed behind him and his back and head hit hard off the metal ring post. John collapsed like a sack of potatoes. Everything that happened next still seems like a blur to me. I saw blood trickling down the back of John's head and back. He looked like he was knocked out. He wasn't moving.
"Was that part of the match?" I asked Jason frantically.
"Not that I know of. They would have told me." He said with a shocked look.
I saw two people running towards the ring with a stretcher. I looked at the monitor and John was still not moving. A medic who seats near ring side was hovering over John's lifeless body. He still wasn't moving. I jumped out of my chair to make my way through the curtains and towards the ring. Jason grabbed me before I could.
"Let go of me!" I screamed "He needs me!"
"They're going to take him to the exit at the side of the entrance ramp. They keep an ambulance there in case of emergencies."
I was struggling to free myself from Jason holding on to me.
"Let her go. I'll take her to the ambulance."
When Jason released his hold on me I looked up to see who had just spoken.
"Thank you, Randy."
Once Randy lead me to the ambulance, I finally got a good look at John. They had just wheeled him backstage. His chest was moving so I knew he was breathing. He had a neck brace on, a oxygen mask covering his nose and mouth and there were bloody towels beneath his head and back. Now that he was breathing my biggest concern was why wasn't he moving. I was surprised I was able to see him at all with the continuous flow of tears. I ran over to John and gave him a gentle kiss on the forehead and held his hand.
"Babe, I'm right here with you. I'm not going any where. Do you hear me. I'm not leaving your side."
"Ms we have to go." A medic said to me
"Okay. I'm riding with him."
"Okay. We just have to hurry."
As I was climbing into the back of the ambulance I heard a lot of people saying get better soon John. When I finally pulled my eyes off John I could see almost everyone from the locker room standing there concerned about their friend, my fiance.
