Holding Tight, Letting Go

Note – This story is a little sad in some parts so you may need a tissue. It takes place the next morning after Dyson, Tamsin and Bo found Kenzi. Dyson is still under the doubt but its wearing off and Tamsin is a little OOC along with Kenzi. Bo is just worried about Kenzi at the moment and doesn't want to think about Trick told her. Also it will be from First person POV and 3rd Pov. Just to let ya know...

Chapter 31: Happy Reunion? Or Not.

(Kenzi's Pov – Close To The Dal – 9:00 AM)

I knew something was wrong as soon as I walked through the front door of the Dal. There were a few scents in the air, however, the ones that caused me some concern were that of Dyson and my pups. There was fear clinging to their scents, caused me some worry. The bond between Dyson and myself was still muted which meant I couldn't contact him to let him know we were safe. Nezi had also been rather quiet as of late but I just put that to the back of my mind because I spotted Trick coming out from the back room.

"Trickster!" I called causing him to look up rather fast. "How's it hanging?" I winked as I jumped onto one of the bar stools. Bo and Rainer sat on beside me.

Trick looked rather shocked that we were standing in the Dal. "Where have you two been..." He trailed off as he spotted Rainer. "I see."

"Hello Patrick." Rainer said softly as his eyes were trained on the short man. "It's been a long time."

Trick growled, pretty good with for a Fae, as he glared at Bo and myself. "Do either of you know what you've done?"

"Hello to you to." Bo frowned as she looked at Trick then Rainer. "And as for what we've done, we set a man free from a train that was falling apart." Her eyes flashed blue.

"I placed him on that train for a reason." Trick said as he glared at Rainer. "Has anyone else showed up?"

I frowned at this. "No." I felt tension in the air. "What's the matter, Trick?"

Trick just shook his head as he walked over and picked up the phone. "You may have just unleashed hell on earth." He whispered so softly that I almost didn't pick it up. "I need to call Dyson."

I watched with a frown on my face as he walked into he back room leaving Bo, Rainer and myself in the bar. I couldn't understand what was going on but for some reason I felt as though something bad was going to happen. I cut my eyes to Bo and Rainer only to see they were worried just as I was. I didn't know why but just the thought of Trick calling Dyson caused me to feel rather sick. I closed my eyes as I tried to calm my nerves. I didn't know why but I felt as though something bad was going to happen. It didn't take long before Trick came back out of the back room and looked between Bo and myself.

"Dyson is on his way. Lauren has somethings to do." He said as he walked behind the counter. "Now tell me what happened to the two of you." Trick had a frown on his face as he spotted my bite mark on Rainer's wrist.

I shrugged. "What's to tell?" I raised a brow at Trick.

"How did you meet Rainer?" Trick seemed leery of the man.

"When Gabe took me and Lauren," Bo started. "I was able to get to the train but when everyone started to remember me, my memory of Rainer and the train vanished."

Trick frowned but nodded, then turned to me. "And you?"

"The same thing as BoBo." I told him with a shrug. "When Gabe took me, I was able to get to the train. I don't know how or why but I was in a room one minute then on the train the next."

Trick didn't say anything as he shook his head then poured Bo and I a shot glass from the top shelf. I smirked as I downed it, feeling the familiar burn of my thirst slightly rise. I swallowed as I glanced towards the bottle Trick had bought just for me, Macy, Lucia and Zombie. Trick smiled as he picked the bottle up and poured me a glass of the reddish liquid. I downed the shot in one fell swoop as I watched as Trick never did fill Rainer's glass of any kind of alcohol but of water. I didn't mention it because I didn't know if Rainer could drink because of the Fae he was but then again, there were some that needed to drink in order to live. Watching Bo speak with Trick, I tuned everything out as I tried to contact Dyson through out link. I received the same thing as before, a black wall with no possible way around. Shaking my head, I told the others I was heading to the bathroom.

I hope Dyson's ok. I couldn't help but think as I shut the door.

(Dyson's Pov – Dark Manor, Library – 8:30 AM)

I hope Kenzi's ok. I thought as I glanced over to our pups. They need their mother just as I need my mate.

My wolf grumbled in agreement as Lauren and myself poured over the Dark Manor's books on fables and other legends. We hadn't been able to come up with anything so far which worried me. Were we looking in the wrong context? I shook my head as I stood walking over and picking Mikael up. He gurgled but had a smile on his face. Ali was sleeping rather soundly since we came back to the Manor but I didn't know why. I felt as though something I was missing was close but I didn't know what. The feeling kept getting stronger and stronger til Ali suddenly woke up with a scream just as the phone rang. Lauren jumped as she darted her eyes to mine.

"Do you want me to get that?" She asked glancing at the phone.

I just shook my head. "No, I'll get it." I told her as I walked up and picked up the receiver. "Hello?"

"Dyson?" Trick's voice came through the phone.

"Yeah Trick?" I frowned catching Lauren's attention with Trick's name. "What's going on?"

"They're here..." He paused a moment. "It seems that Kenzi has claimed a family member. Its the man I wrote out of history. Bo and Kenzi brought him back which means that soon H.E.L.L is going to open and he will be let free."

Lauren was looking at me with a worried look on her face and fear in her eyes. "Who's there?" Lauren's eyes widen as she jumped to her feet.

"Is Bo and Kenzi back?" She asked in a fast speaking manner.

"Bo and Kenzi are back but Dyson, Bo is with Rainer." Trick spoke softly that way Lauren didn't find out. "She believes he's her destiny."

"Shit." I growled as I closed my eyes. "I'll be right there. One question? Why hasn't Kenzi tried to get a hold of me? We are linked."

"She told me she couldn't get a hold of you." Trick answered my question as he hung up the phone.

I clenched my teeth together as I tried to reign in my anger. Lauren was staring at me with a worried expression. I could smell her fear, worry and hope but as soon as she found out about Bo and Rainer it would break her heart. I took a deep breathe as I tried to figure something out to tell Lauren.

"Lauren..." I started but it seemed that Lauren was suspicious of something.

"Bo's back, isn't she?" Lauren's voice sounded slightly lost. "And..." She took a deep breathe then let it out. "and she's with someone else."

I frowned as I nodded, my head dropping as I sat down on the edge of the bed. Lauren walked over beside me as she took my hand in hers. I could smell the pain pouring off of her but she seemed to hide it rather well.

"There are still some things I need to go over." Lauren said as she looked back to the books scattered all over the floor. "Go ahead and go see Kenzi. I'll finish up here and watch over the kids." She smiled at me as she glanced at Mikael and Ali.

"Are you sure?" I asked frowning.

Lauren smiled and nodded. "I'm sure." She picked up a book she hadn't looked in yet. "Go see your mate. I can take care of myself."

I sighed but nodded as I dropped a kiss on Mikael and Ali's head then took off out the door. I wanted to get to the Dal as soon as possible because I didn't like the fact I wasn't able to speak to my mate when I wanted. Just feeling the loss of our connection was taking a toll on my wolf because he believed his mate to be dead yet both of us knew she was very much alive. As I exited the Dark manor, I spotted the Morrigan speaking to someone on the phone. I couldn't hear the conversation yet I could tell by the look on her face she was worried about something. I pushed that out of my head as I jumped in the car and peeled out of the parking lot. I needed to see Kenzi because there was something going on and I wanted to know what it was. I just hoped that Lauren could find something in the books because Trick wasn't able to help in that area.

No one could seem to remember what the legend, prophecy or tale, was named.

(3rd Person Pov – Dark Manor, Kenzi/Dyson's Room – 8:40 AM)

Lauren sighed as she watched Dyson exit the room. Her heart was heavy as she tried to shake the feeling that something bad was going to happen. Pushing those thoughts out of her mind, Lauren started to pour over older text that looked as though they had been changed. She was reading until she came to a prophecy about a Fae that could see the future. She kept skimming the pages until she came to one part that caught her attention.

"The Queen of Darkness' Heart must give up her destiny in order to close the gates of HELL." Lauren frowned as she read on. "If the wrong Heart is sacrificed, Darkness shall reign in Lights' stead."

"What does that mean?" Lauren whispered out loud to herself as she sighed closing the book. "The Queen Of Darkness' Heart must give up her destiny?" She shook her head standing. "The Queen of Darkness could be either Kenzi or Bo."

Lauren headed to the phone only to hear a knock on the door. Frowning, she went to the door and opened it to see that Vex and another woman was standing there. She noticed right off that the woman held a sword along with a symbol that she had seen in the book that refereed to the King of Darkness. Lauren looked at Vex for an answer only for the man to shake his head and head off in the opposite direction of the exit. Lauren couldn't help but wonder what the hell was going on but she turned her eyes back to the woman who stood in front of her.

"Who are you?" She asked moving to the side, blocking the woman from peeking inside the room. "Why are you here? How did you get in here?"

The woman smiled widely. "I am here to help you, Lauren." She looked Lauren up and down. "I know what is happening and I am here to make sure it doesn't come to pass. You will need my help."

"Why should I trust you?" Lauren glared at the woman as she braced herself for an attack. "I don't know you from any other person in the Dark manor."

"My name is Alisha." The woman bowed her head in greeting. "I am the guardian of the portal of HELL."

"You're a Valkyrie." Lauren's eyes widen as she stared at the woman in front of her.

Alisha nodded her head. "I also know what happened to Tamsin. I have sent her to a teacher. Hale and Macy are with the girl."

"How can I trust you?" Lauren knew a lot about the Valkyrie Fae. "If you are the guardian of the HELL'S gate, why do you need my help?"

Alisha smiled widely which caused Lauren to shiver. "Because you are the one who must save the world."

Lauren stood there not really understanding what was going on. Knowing she needed someone to take care of Mikael and Ali, Lauren made up her mind. She held up a finger as she shut the door and headed over to the kids. She picked up the phone and dialed Zombie's number. Lucia answered on the second ring.

"Hello?"

"Lucia?" Lauren asked as she darted her eyes towards the door.

There was a shuffling sound. "What's going on?"

"I need you to come pick up the kids." Lauren whispered as she looked down at the kids again. "I have something I need to do and I cant take them. Kenzi's come back and Dyson went to her, leaving me with the babies but..."

"Say no more, I'm on my way." Lucia told her as the line went dead.

Lauren sighed a breathe of relief as she packed their diaper bag. She knew that Lucia was on the Dark side thus she could come into the manor and get the kids. Packing what they would need, she walked over to the door after setting it between the cribs then opened the door to see that Alisha was still standing there. Lauren smiled as she grabbed her phone and keys then shut the door behind her, locking it. Mikael and Ali were sleeping thus she didn't need to worry about anything. She nodded her head as she held out her arm for Alisha to go ahead of her. The woman nodded as they hurried down the halls of the Dark Manor. Lauren hoped that she was doing the right thing because if she was the key to all this she would do everything in her power to set things right.

Even if she was with Bo, the woman she loved.

Author Note – Alright, I'm sorry to say that I was without Internet for a little while. I know that you, my readers, didn't get a heads up but neither did I! The asshole of the internet carrier, Comcast!, canceled our internet and TV with no notice. I had to go back to AT&T but I like them better anyway. Now what do you think about the new character? Alisha is the woman that was following Bo and Rainer around close to the end of Season 4. I don't really know her name but I decided to call her Alisha.
