Chapter 36
As we danced together, the glow of our love encompassed the dance floor. It was the last dance at our reception. I was remembering everything leading up to our wedding. We had managed to keep it small at only about 125 people. We each sang our vows to each other. My dress came out just as I pictured. My brothers and parents came out. My father actually cried as he gave me away. Edward was stunning in his tuxedo. His parents and sisters all helped us get the wedding and reception planned to the very last minute. Edward and I found a house in Carmel that had beach front property plus I bought us a larger condo in Beverly Hills for when we were doing recordings in LA. I looked up at him and saw the smile on his face. "What are you thinking?" I asked.
"I'm thinking that I'm the luckiest man alive that you agreed to marry me even after I made an ass out of myself and hurt you so badly. If I were you, I wouldn't have forgiven me so easily just a few months ago, but I'm glad you did. What were you thinking?"
"I was remembering how wonderful the last four months have been and what a beautiful day today has been. When are you going to tell me where we are going to stay for our honeymoon?"
"Now this is my little secret and as you know I don't kiss and tell."
As the song continued I remembered when Edward showed me this boat and asked if this would work for our wedding reception. We decided to have the boat anchored a small way out in the water and use smaller ferry boats to bring our guests out to the yacht. When we boarded our ferry boat alone, we sat there holding each other and kissing for the five minutes it took to get to the yacht. As we reached the yacht, he quickly scooped me up and carried me aboard the yacht where we were welcomed with flying confetti and bubbles. We had an elegant dinner and multiple times people clanged forks against champagne glasses and we kissed every time. While other people finished eating, we walked around and visited with all our guests.
I also remember how my single went to number one for 10 weeks. I recorded the rest of my album including a duet between Edward and I. I did a couple of concerts and appeared on a few talk shows. I enjoyed having Edward in the studio with me. He and my music composer collaborated on the rest of my songs. As the song finally came to an end, I looked up at Edward smiled and then we kissed one last time to a resounding amount of cheers. Edward was handed a microphone and we told all our guests thank you for sharing this beautiful day with us. We watched and waved good bye until our immediate family were the only ones left. Before they boarded the last boat back to shore, we broke out one final bottle of champagne. Edward proposed a final toast to thanking God for bringing Bella to me and bringing two great families together. Edward and I stood on deck and watched until they were out of sight. Once they were gone, Edward turned to me and smiled.
I asked, "All right, what's going through that head of yours?"
"You'll see."
He leaned down and brushed a quick kiss over my lips and then he scooped me up in his arms. He smiled and said, "Let's go below deck where we can make love as a married couple for the first time and start the rest of our lives together?"
"I will agree only after you tell me where we're going on our honeymoon. Otherwise, you're going to be very lonely tonight." When we reached our room and went in, the room was aglow with candles. As Edward sat me down on the ground, I looked at him and said, "Edward, this is so beautiful; I wish we could stay here for a month."
He turned me towards him while smiling and said, "Beautiful, we're going to stay on this gorgeous yacht for three weeks as we cruise up and down the west coast doing whatever we want, wherever we want."
"Edward I love you," and then we spent the rest of the night proving our love to each other.
