Lucy POV

I heard the yells of the men and the screams of the girls, but they didn't bother me. I was driving on pure emotion. I felt myself being held up by my brother and the fist that collided with my cheek, yet it all seemed so surreal, so otherworldly. I wasn't hurt, despite the electricity jumping off of Laxus. I saw Laxus's eyes widen as he quickly pulled away from me.

He stumbled backward, tripping over his own feet. He picked himself back up to his feet and bolted towards the station. I jerked away from my brother, only to be shoved against the wall by my boys.

"Let him go, Okāsan." Rogue said quietly. "We don't need him around anyway."

I let out a growl. "Let me go, now, or I'll have your heads." Both of them tried to keep their glares level with my before Sting caved and let go.

I ran after Laxus, eventually catching up to him using his oaky smell. He was seated on a bench outside the station, looking down at his hands. I silently took a seat next to him, placing my hands in my lap.

"Laxus, do you remember why we decided to adopt Sting and Rogue?"

He didn't budge and not a word came from him.

"We decided that these two boys would not grow up on their own like we had to. We said that we would do everything we can to make sure that they would not end up in broken homes. We wanted them to be happier than we were when we were children. Do you remember?"

He looked at me with unreadable eyes. "What's your point, Blondie?"

I frowned at his use of the nickname he dubbed me with eight years ago. "My point Sparky is that we made a promise to not only those boys, but to each other too. We promised we'd get married after all this just last night."

"That was before you decided you would run off with that 'brother' of yours." He growled. "How do I even know that's your brother? Lucy, you never mentioned him before. How can I trust you?"

"You wanna talk about trust?" I asked, finding myself growing angry with him. "Did I not wait for you for seven long years? I raised our boys. Look, I'm sorry Acnologia attacked Tenroujima, but that is no longer the kind dragon that taught me magic, Laxus. I don't hold that against him. I'm sorry for doing what I thought was best without telling you. It's just, I… I was…"

"You were afraid." He answered, looking at all the innocent people passing by without any idea of what was going on around them. "I know because you furrow your brows and do your best to look brave when you're scared. Lucy, I know you. I know the faces you make when you're mad, when you're happy. I know it all." He paused and looked me in the eyes with the slightest trace of tears beginning to well up in his eyes. "It hurts to find that when you think you know someone to find out they're hiding things from you. I trusted you."

I looked down at my hands, guilt creeping up onto my being. "I guess I should start with answering your questions. Jackal is my brother. I've had a hunch for awhile now, but it wasn't confirmed until last night. I saw him last night. I saw him for what he used to be. It was brief, but I knew it was him. He disappeared when he was eight, so I was six. My grandfather spouted that he was a disgrace for being unable to learn Dragon Slayer Magic. I was devastated because we were extremely close for siblings. He would take me everywhere with him. When my grandfather had finally died, my mother told me that my brother was disowned and sent to the wilderness. I became less worried, because I knew he could survive because of his light magic, an ancient form of Water magic passed down from my father's side."

"Hold it, your dad isn't a mage." Laxus interrupted.

"You're right, he wasn't, but his parents were. Dad, wanted to be a normal person. Anyway, two years past and I was sent to go train with Acnologia for two years. I came back home shortly before my mother died. She blocked off my memories with the reasoning that she wanted me to be who I wanted to be, not who my grandfather wanted me to be. She died three months later. Then you know the rest of the story."

Laxus nodded before frowning. "Are you okay? That was a pretty beefed up punch you took."

I giggled. "I'm fine, see? My cheeks just a little red. I directed most of the lightning into the ground."

Laxus looked at me before smiling. "We have some issues that still need to be solved, but I think the asshole that tried to take my future wife from me deserves a visit and a can of whoop-ass as a gift. Don't you think, Lucy?"

"I'm all fired up!" I yelled, raising my fist into the air and performing my best Natsu impression that earned me stares from the passerby.

We walked back to the others hand in hand and smiles on our faces. "Let's do this!" We all yelled. I even noticed that Mavis had given him is stamp on his hand and in pink, with me in mind.

"Lucy," Laxus said to me as he placed his sound pod over my ears. "This is the song that reminds me of you."

He scrolled through the songs until he came across the right one and pressed play.

(I'm an angel with a shotgun, shotgun, shotgun,
An angel with a shotgun, shotgun, shotgun...)

Get out your guns, battle's begun;
are you a saint, or a sinner?
If love's a fight, then I shall die,
with my heart on a trigger.

They say before you start a war,
you better know what you're fighting for.
Well baby, you are all that I adore,
if love is what you need, a soldier I will be.

I'm an angel with a shotgun,
fighting 'til the war's won,
I don't care if heaven won't take me back.
I'll throw away my faith, babe, just to keep you safe.
Don't you know you're everything I have?
..and I, wanna live, not just survive, tonight.

Sometimes to win, you've got to sin,
don't mean I'm not a believer.
..and major Tom, will sing along.
Yeah, they still say I'm a dreamer.

They say before you start a war,
you better know what you're fighting for.
Well baby, you are all that I adore,
if love is what you need, a soldier I will be.

I'm an angel with a shotgun,
fighting 'til the war's won,
I don't care if heaven won't take me back.
I'll throw away my faith, babe, just to keep you safe.
Don't you know you're everything I have?
...and I, wanna live, not just survive, tonight.

ooooohhhhhhhh, ooooooohhhhh whoa whoa oooh whoa.

I'm an angel with a shotgun...
fighting 'til the war's won...
I don't care if heaven won't take me back...

I'm an angel with a shotgun,
fighting till' the war's won,
I don't care if heaven won't take me back.
I'll throw away my faith, babe, just to keep you safe.
Don't you know you're everything I have?
(I'm an angel with a shotgun)
...and I want to live, not just survive, tonight.
(Live, not just survive)

...and I'm gonna hide, hide, hide my wings tonight.

They say before you start a war,
you better know what you're fighting for.
Well baby, you are all that I adore,
if love is what you need, a soldier I will be.

I smiled up at Laxus with tears in my eyes. "That was sudden, huh? But it was perfect Laxus. Absolutely perfect." I buried my face into his chest, letting a few tears fall down my cheeks. "I love you so much, Laxus."

He held me tightly against his hard form. "I love you, too, Lucy. Just please. Don't scare me like that ever again."
