TWD: Hey Sweet Pea

Episode 5: No Going Back (Part 5) / Chapter 33

Everything felt so simple from here on out. Maybe these people really could be trusted. For the past two days, they've been fed and watered. They've got their own beds, and they haven't seen or heard a walker in the two days they have been there for. Surprisingly, there was a teaching slot open which Lee quickly applied for it. There were kids there, ranging from seven year olds to fourteen year olds. Griffin had told Lee that he would be free to choose which material he would do for the curriculum. Of course, the kids had a choice to enroll in the school or not. Clementine chose not to, which disappointed Lee a bit. He would have liked teaching her. Lee remembered the day when they were at Crawford, when she said that she missed school and liked it.

Was this the place they've been longing for?

Sanctuary?

Lee sighed, writing on a notebook piece of paper what he was going to do for today's lesson. He was so nervous because he almost forgot his days at teaching, so it was basically a new start. He was pretty much the principal here.

Troy and Mike decided to take the wall shift, watching over for walkers with cold beers and homemade french fries. They were acquired an assault rifle and a sniper for each person. They basically guarded the entire day.

Kenny was very happy to hear that there was a fishing position, which he gladly accepted. He went out with Garrison and Carlton to fish. They only went three times a week. Kenny's first time was today.

Alvin Jr. was left to taken care by Wanda, the woman who was very eager to see the new faces. Kenny wasn't fond of the idea, but he eventually went on with it. Luke and Pete decided to do ammo checks, gun checks, anything like that. They guarded the armory, the commissary, the infirmary. This place was stocked up the ass, according to Pete. The group loved it here. It felt safe.

And then there was Molly. She hadn't gotten her job position yet, because she hadn't bothered to sign up yet. Griffin and Maurice had told them that they had to pull their weight. Molly was still suspicious of the place, the two brothers often saw her poking around, examining the buildings and the outside walls. The brothers hadn't stopped him because there was no reason to. She was just being curious.

Molly sighed, sniffing the coat that she had. She hadn't changed her clothes in weeks, which was a felony in her book before the apocalypse. Now it was pretty much equivalent to forgetting to take a shower in the morning. She groaned when Griffin appeared behind her, "You know, Wanda's in charge of laundry." Griffin said. Molly turned around, "She's doing Laundry, huh?" She snickered.

"Oh come on, she chose to do it." Griffin smiled. He approached her, "Look... we have spare clothes, you can get a change of clothes. Don't be shy."

"Thanks. I think I'll handle it myself." Molly shoved him off, walking ahead. Griffin caught up to her, "Look.. I get you don't trust us. You have reasons to be."

"Yeah, you said that." She muttered.

"But there's going to be a day where you are going to choose to leave or stay, and your friends have settled in quite well. Everyone but you. I hate saying things like this, but we didn't preserver with people who didn't pitch in and help. The only person who hasn't done so, is you." Griffin informed her, and then he walked away. He climbed up the ladder to his little house, which was custom built by Evan. Griffin opened the door and saw Evan grabbing a young woman's hair, and throwing her on the ground.

"You sit and wait your turn." Evan threatened. Griffin walked over, looking at the woman who had a bruised face.

"What'd she get? A-Positive?" Griffin asked. Evan shook his head, "She's A-Negative. Shall we exterminate?" Griffin sighed, "I wish we could get one fucking person with blood type A-Positive." He then grabbed his pistol, with a silencer attached he then shot the young woman in the chest, several times.

"Get me Test Subject 32." Griffin ordered. Evan nodded, grabbing the dead corpse of Test Subject 31, dragging her by the legs. Griffin sat on his chair, wiping his forehead. "Carlton, next time.. ask before you take. We need to get blood for Marlene, we don't ask after we take them in, okay?"

Carlton sighed, "Sorry boss. It just doesn't feel right to me. Asking, you know?"

"It's okay. It's okay. Just try it next time. If it doesn't work, use force. These people are on the whim of trusting us, I'm going to get to know that blonde haired girl. Molly? She may be our lucky number 1." Griffin said.

Evan whistled, running his fingers along each cells. Each cell held either a dead woman, or a woman that was screaming to be let out. At the end of the hallway, there was a cell with a walker inside. Evan smiled, "Hi baby."

"Marlene, I'm sorry. Once we see if Test Subject 32 is A-Positive, then we'll get you some blood. And then you'll be back with us! Human again! You understand that we don't want to keep you locked in a cage, but we just need you to stay calm and we'll get you back in the world in no time!"

"I want to kiss you, you know. I would if it wasn't for your husband. Griffin has been a real jerk lately, always bossing me around. That night, we had something special. You remember that? It was amazing. But I've got Maurice on my back so no bueno!" Evan giggled.

"Well, I'd love to catch up with you later, but duty calls. Griffin wants TS-32 for evaluation. See you, baby girl." Evan smiled, as the walker growled. Evan walked over to Cell 32, grabbing the woman and then pulling her out.

"Please! Please! No! No!"

"Quit squirming! It'll be over soon, I promise!" Evan yelled. Evan tossed her onto the floor, the woman with blue eyes and long black hair. Griffin smiled, "TS-32. Are you doing alright this evening?"

"Did you put Mrs. Caddlefelt out of her misery?"

"Mrs. Who?" Evan asked.

"Caddlefelt. TS-31."

"No. I put her back in her cell, why would I even do that?"

"Okay. Okay. No, that's alright. Okay, Taylor. Could you please tell me your blood type?" Griffin said, his grin was menacing and his smile was demented. The woman, Taylor looked at him, everything in her body shaking.

"A-Po..sitive..." She gulped. Griffin let out a huge grin, exchanging looks with Carlton and Evan.

"Thank you! Oh my god, I can't even... Thank you so much! I'm never going to forget you." Griffin beamed, grabbing his blade and then sticking the knife into her stomach, slicing it open. Griffin kissed her on the cheek as Griffin began to shove the knife into her stomach repeatedly, digging his hands inside.

"Get the Bag, Carlton." Evan ordered. Carlton nodded, grabbing it and then running to his side as Griffin had blood in his hands and then he dripped it into the bag.

"Thank you for your service." Griffin smiled.
