Chapter 35 The End!
The battle between Goku and Vegeta was over, but at what cost? Goku had to kill one of his best friends, his only saiyan comrade, his longlife rival, and there was nothing he could do about it. But Goku felt bad for Trunks and Bra, as they lost their mother not too long ago, and now they also lost their father in such a horrible way. Goku reverted back to his normal form and walked towards Trunks, who was on his knees crying while being comforted by Goten.
''I'm sorry, Trunks. I wish I could have done something else to help your father, but...'' Goku said hanging his head down.
''No, it's okay, Goku.'' Trunks said while wiping his tears away. Goku looked up to Trunks. ''He may not be with us anymore, but I know that he's happy now. He's with mom again. This is what he wanted.''
''Maybe. But I still wished we could have done things differently. And I just...'' Goku said while his fists were shaking.
''I wish things could have gone differently too.''
''So what now?'' Goten asked his best friend. ''I suppose you're going to tell Bra about this now.''
''Yeah, It's her dad after all too, right? Oh, man. This is going to be hard, since she always was daddy's little girl.''
''I'll go with you, bro. You don't have to go through this alone.'' Goten said.
''Thanks, Goten. Well, I guess we should go then.'' Trunks noticed Pan walking towards Goku and saw that he was so quiet like Vegeta's death was eating him up from the inside. ''Hey Pan. Take good care of Goku okay. He seems to have a even more hard time than I have. Just make sure he isn't going to do any weird things.''
''Don't worry about it. I will keep a eye on him.''
''Thanks.'' Trunks said with a smile. ''Well, are you ready to go Goten?'' Goten replied with a nod and they flew away to break the bad news to Bra.
''Are you alright, Goku?'' Pan asked concerned.
''Uh...uh yeah... uh no... I mean... I will be eventually.'' Goku said with a deep voice.
''Well, just so you know, I'm here for you. I''ll always be at your side.''
''I know, Pan. I know. I just... I want to rest for a bit.''
''Sure. When we get home, I'll cook something really good for you.''
''Thanks, but... I'm not really in the mood for food right now.''
Pan felt really bad for Goku. He not only lost one of his best friends, but he also lost a their unborn child. That hit him deeply since that was the cause for his new Super Saiyan transformation. He lost a lot today and she could understand why he just wants to rest for a while.
From a distance, Videl and Gohan were watching Goku and Pan. Gohan noticed that Videl still had a slight expession of disgust on her face. Just not as fiercely as before. ''So you're still against them being together huh?'' Gohan asked his wife.
''Well... yeah... a bit. I mean... them being together is wrong and not normal. But...'' Videl paused for a few seconds. ''I do see how much they love and care for each other and also how happy they are. Goku looks happier with Pan than he was with Chichi from what I've seen so far.''
''So you accept them?''
''Yes and no. I'm glad Pan found someone like your father. He's a great guy and seeing her happy makes me happy, but still, they shouldn't be together. They're relatives. It's wrong.''
''I know what you mean. But it's not like there is anything we can do about it. And besides, I think that it would make Pan very happy if you show your support for them. I'm not saying it's right what they have with each other, but... all I want for them is to be happy. And if this is the solution to their happiness, then so be it.''
''You're right. So... what are we going to do now?'' Videl asked Gohan.
''I guess we'll just head home. I'll first check up on my dad.'' Gohan flew to Goku. ''Are you alright, father?''
''Not really. But I will be... sooner or later...''
''Is there anything we can do?''
''I just wanna rest for a bit. That's all. But thank you, son.''
''Anytime, dad. Well I guess I'll go home. If you need anything just visit us, okay.''
''Okay, Gohan. You take care of yourself.''
''You too. Well, I'm off. See you soon. Bye.'' And with that Gohan and Videl flew home.
''We should go home too. Goku jr is still alone there after all.''
''Ahh damn. I forgot about him for a second. The kid was so excited to have a little brother or sister. And now he won't have one.''
''Well, not now, but... maybe in the future.''
''Yeah, maybe. Can we tell about this later? I really don't want to see the disappointment on his face.''
''Yeah, sure. Come on. Let's go home.'' Goku and Pan flew home. Of course Goku jr. was happy to see his parents again but noticed a very depressed expression on his fathers face.
''What's wrong, daddy? You seem kinda unhappy.'' Goku jr. asked concerned.
''I'm fine, son. I just need to rest for a bit okay.''
''Okay. Can we go fishing tomorrow?''
''Uhhhh... yeah sure.''
''Alright.'' Goku jr. said while running up the stairs.
''I'm going to bed. I'll see you later then.''
''Sleep well.'' Pan said as Goku was walking up the stairs. Goku got in his bedroom and laid down to take a nap. Even though he was tired as hell, he just couldn't sleep. Until he heard a voice, a very familiar voice.
''Thank you... Kakarot.''
Goku immediately stood up, and tried to figure out who's voice it was. But there was only one person with that voice. And since the voice called him Kakarot, he was 100% certain that it was Vegeta's voice. Hearing those words made him calm down a bit and he could finally sleep.
Months passed, and Goku and Pan told Goku jr. what happened on that fateful day, and why he won't have a little brother or little sister now. Of course he was disappointed, but they told him that he might get a little sibling in the future. And it did. Not too long after, Pan got pregnant again, and when he gave birth, it was indeed a girl. They gave her the name Aimi. They grew up and Goku jr. and Aimi seemed very close. They always did everything together and they were inseperable. Both Goku and Pan were glad about it. Videl and Gohan also didn't seem to mind that Goku and Pan made another child. They actually thought it was better for Goku jr. since he won't be a only-child anymore. So everything turned out as Goku and Pan wanted. Now they have 2 children, and Gohan and Videl finally accepted their forbidden love.
