A Holy War

~Foretelling and Archive of Future~

Hello everyone, how are all of you doing? APs finally over for me! XD Now I feel like a load off my shoulders. I know, I know, it took a long time. But with all the major tests right around the corner, I didn't have the time or the nerve to distract your studies a while back then. Plus, I had to study myself. My teacher taught us with all those easy peasy questions he found on the Internet for about 8 months. And then two weeks ago he introduced us to these friggen humongous textbooks of up to 900 pages. And the multiple choice in there? Killers! I felt so unconfident of myself right before the test. Lol, but still I think I got a 4-5 for my APUSH. Anyway, thanks to Hierarch Andaronius, Cornelia Hale8, Scarlet Fernandes, CrimsonNight41, Sovereign64, sereneskydragonslayer, Moonstar Daughter of Hades, TheSecretDreamer, BlackCatNeko999, Matchmakingdove1028, LightandDarkHeart, Farahin Farzana Ame, JcL107, MusicMyEscape-DemiGodSlytherin, Sweets2310, TheCheny, heart sunken, Nadine.Q, and makingupthetown for reading, reviewing, faving, following and just being awesomely supportive! XD That goes to all you anyonumous readers, but still from time to time, I'd love to hear your imputs. And now since its like midnight here, with my mom scream-telling me to go to bed, I apologize for not thinking up a song suggestion for y'all. Sorry, but if you got one, plz let me know! I might update this chapter with that suggestion! Once again, thanks for being awesome and have fun reading! This chappie have a lot of insights on certain subjects and character thoughts.

"I-Is this true…dear?" Belno's eyes have had to be the sizes of the moon as she gawked at her husband in surprise. The High God grinned happily with a nod, and then silence dominated the Gathering Room. It was dead quiet, so quiet that a pin drop's noise could have been defined as loud and clear.

"So…at last? They have met?" Turning around, Mavis found Cobra's eyes bulging with disbelief and anxiety. The vast room seems to echo and amplify his meek and nervous voice.

Her father's joy was obvious as his solemn nod failed to hide his smile. "Indeed, Belno-sama, Cobra-san. They have at last, doubtlessly. Erza Scarlet had at last appeared. Therefore, the second stage of the plan can finally carry underway."

Immediately, smiles and cries of joys suddenly broke through the earlier silent atmosphere, much to Mavis's surprise.

"They met!"

"At last! That living nightmare's demise is marked! Thank Org-sama!"

"Great Guran Doma-sama, doesn't this mean the end to his tyrannical reign of terror is at end?"

"Thank Guran Doma-sama and Belno-sama! Bless Great Org-sama! She's finally here! The time's finally here!"

Following then, were a flood of questions as if the Gods and Goddesses still refuse to believe their own ears. "When had they met? Today? How did it go? Is she aware of her own role yet?"

"Guran Doma-sama, are you positively sure that this Erza Scarlet is that Erza Scarlet? That very Erza Scarlet?"

"The real deal her that is whom we are thinking?"

"The Chosen One from Great Org-sama's legendary book, Archive of Future?"

Chosen One? Her? Archive of Future? Them…Plans? What is this all? Mavis's voice, lost from her surprise, returned rapidly. And before she can help it, the question had busted from her tongue and she instantly felt all eyes on her. "F-father-sama, um, may I ask, what are you all speaking of? Who is this 'Erza Scarlet', this Chosen One…of Great Org-sama's Archive…of Future?"

"Ah, a pity, Mavis, for you not to know of Org-sama's legendary work." For a moment she thought her father frowned with disapproval, but the next second it was gone as he began. "The Archive of Future is, undoubtedly, one of Org-sama's greatest gifts to our holy race. As you know, Great Org-sama had been our beloved ruler since as long as a Mega-annum prior to the Dark Age." Upon his face again grew dark with memories, as his voice grew quiet. "Of course, in the Dark War just fifty human years ago, Great Org-sama courageously stood up to face the Dark Mage with great honor and his own powerful Magic. I'm sure you've heard at least, dearest, of Org-sama's most powerful Magic spell-"

"World Creation Magic: Imperial Justice's Enlighten Light of Annihilation! Or just 'Light of Justice' for short!" Excitement pounded against her heart as she was reminded of the lore and stories Laxus told her when they were younger, of how it was the most powerful, ultimate Magic in all of Three World. "It was the great Magic Org-sama used to banish Hades into the depths of Hell, and left him in a fear so deep he still daren't touch us today! It was a spell, that has 70,741 fold of the power of what humans and mortals call of their Magic Energy Nuclear Bombs! And oh, oh! Fun fact: I found that 70,741 on paper also resembled TOTAL, meaning total annihilation! It's completely fitting to the destructive power of the spell!"

"Indeed, Mavis." Belno's eyes beamed with a light of awe as a smile graced her lips. Her voice gradually increased in volume as she grew more excited. "Great Org-sama performed it during the Dark War of X728. We were all there, it was such a pity you never saw it! The entire sky blazed up into pure whiteness as Justice itself was summoned to Org-sama's aid! Guran Doma-sama, were we not almost blinded? It's such a sight of wonder, worth of lifetimes' good deeds to witness a single second of it! Seven holy Magic Circles emitting a different color and light, resembling different elements as a light of pure whiteness emerged. It was even brighter than the sun itself! So beautiful…and yet so deadly. Can you imagine, Mavis, a spell 70,741 times the power of a Nuclear Bomb? And what skill it'd take to wield it? And to control it all into a single spherical attack! My, my, such a surprise that man wasn't incinerate into ash…he should've felt honored to be blasted with such a holy and beautiful Magic…though he wasn't at all deserving to be even witnessing a second of that grandeur Magic."

Guran Doma nodded. "Indeed, it was a sight to behold. However, Belno-sama, pardon me for my words…but you've wandered off topic." He then turned to an awed Mavis. "Now you see, Mavis. Sadly, the monster himself had a spell we had no idea of…in fact, we had not even the slightest knowledge of such a deadly spell in existence, not even from the greatest books and documents from the Great Libraries. We can only imagine that he had invented it himself, though I hate to say so…the damned Areyuski…is capable of creating such a spell."

Upon here, his voice grew tense as he began to emit deep breaths. For a moment, Mavis thought he looked afraid…but then she reprimanded herself. It's impossible for her mighty parents to ever be afraid…right?

"He called it… J-Judgment of D-Death God: Everlasting Yami No San Sekai. Or as we later interpreted as…'Judgement of Death God: Everlasting Darkness of Three Worlds'…and…as it's a mouthful to say, we simplified it into…'Death's Judgement'." Mavis's eyes grew wide with fright as her father suddenly began to tremble, and as beads of sweat dominated his forehead from his own demonic memories. "It was actually…comparable…to Light of Justice, convertible to 63,478 folds of a Magic Nuclear Bomb's powers…" The atmosphere of the room sudden returned to the fear and dark gloom, so much that as Mavis scanned across the terrified, tormented faces present, she herself felt a heavy urge to cry and choke on her own saliva. "I-it was a nightmare…Mavis. The entire sky…grew dark...with black clouds…W-were it not…for Org-sama's Light of Justice…I doubt we'd even- even see one another in the chaos. And he summoned what seems to be t-this, black hole… into his hands…Great Org-sama…took on the attack…with his body to defend us… and it- it killed him…H-he was a hero; a hero that died in the sake of destroying the vile and evil Dark Mage and protecting…the Three Worlds…"

"I- I see, Father-sama…" she managed to whisper, as her voice gradually returned to her after a long moment of suffocating silence. "Please…discard that dreary memory from your mind...it doesn't deserve t-to trouble us further."

"I-indeed, Guran Doma-sama! As dear Mavis said…we shouldn't plague ourselves further." Belno's eyes snapped open at her words, and Mavis can clearly see the shiny, gleaming liquids of fear despite her mother's feeble attempt at remaining strong. "I say…we move on to lighter subjects. Now, dear, what were you going to say regarding Archive of Future and the Chosen One?"

"Ah, why…yes, of course…Belno-sama and dear Mavis." Guran Doma began awkwardly once more. A white handkerchief materialized at his hand, and he hastily rubbed away the residue of his own sweat before clearing his throat. "Well, you see, Mavis. About a month or two…after we lost Great Org-sama... to that despicable bastard…I myself was elected, under the support of many lovely and wondrous Gods and Goddesses now present at the room…Belno-sama and I then moved into Great-Org-sama's former room…I mean, of course, his loss troubled us all…but Heaven did have to pull itself together…as we can't mourn forever. Not to mention, the mortal world of Earth Land still needs our assistance, and cursed Hades and his Hell still needs to be carefully observed. Anyway, in Great Org-sama's room, we found a startling leather-parchment book of notable thickness. And next to it, a neatly handwritten, folded letter. Mavis, that was one of the greatest gift Org-sama had given us. The 'Archive of Future'."

The young girl nodded to portray her attention. To be honest, she is very interested by this sudden, but welcomed history lesson. "What then, Father-sama?"

"We'd never dared to flip through Org-sama's possessions, but the letter was accidently dropped…due to Belno-sama's rather sudden clumsiness." He shot a slight accusatory glance, but then the High God and the High Goddess burst into smiles. "Well, she had been…um, traumatized back then at the loss of Org-sama…We were going to seal his last gifts away in respect of his memories. But thanks to that accidental peek into the letter as we tried to pick it up, that never happened. It was a letter, Mavis, directly dedicated to our race. In it, Org-sama stated his sadness at having to leave us, and that he wished the sacred race of us Immortals to carry on and fare well, even without his leadership-"

"Forgive me for the interruption." Mavis couldn't help herself, but then something struck her as strange for a moment. "Did Org-sama know he would have…unfortunately died…at the War?"

The High God's face grew somber, and Mavis can only guess that it was because he was again reminded of the war. Guran Doma released a sigh, but nodded slowly. "You did not let me finish, sweetie. But you are correct, Org-sama was aware of this outcome. In fact, that leads us back to that holy book, 'Archive of Future'. Its name cannot be more perfect…Mavis, are you aware that one of Great Org-sama's greatest Magic is Foretelling Magic?"

She nodded, excitement swirling from those dreamy green pools. "Yes I am, Father-sama! I have heard that it is so powerful that Org-sama can 100 percent accurately predict anything- anything from as trivial as to when's the next time one would sneeze or as important as to when the damned Hades will launch off his next wave of attacks!"

Belno nodded approvingly, and blushing with pride, Mavis found many of the present Immortals wearing grins of pride. From across the room, Lahar smiled with a nod of his head; it was as if he was beaming with joy. She wondered why he was so glad for a moment, before redirecting her attention back to her father.

"Well, indeed. Aren't you well informed, dear." Guran was still wearing an obvious smile of pride as he continued. "Well, it turns out…he had since ages ago predicted out what would have occurred at the Dark War of X728… Unfortunately…Org-sama…knew he was going to…leave us on that particular day…But he did not run from it, instead…Great Org-sama chose to embrace his destiny, for he knew if he does not confront that stain….eventually the Three Worlds will all be destroyed." Upon here, Mavis with great worry found her Father's voice growing meek with grief. "He did it for us, Mavis. He did it to save all of us. To secure the future, to prevent Areyuski from ravaging and tearing our worlds apart…But can you imagine? Can you imagine what it must have been to know- to feel the days of your demise nearing every second? Great Org-sama knew the Dark War would claim him…decades before his time…can you…imagine what it'll feel like…to be like a prisoner in a cell, waiting for the countdown to the day the guards would come to bring you to the guillotine?"

Nearly every head presented at the room lowered as most remembered their former leader, dying gloriously at the hands of the enemy to protect them all. A small trail of tears flooded down Mavis's cheeks, as she remembered the portrait that lays just about every photo frame in the great palace of Heavens. No wonder….Great Org-sama had given us his everything…to keep us alive! But… is this hatred…justified? Does this past life of sins and the hatred of my kin…justify in pointing its daggers and anger at the Rurcorlus-sama of this life?

"No, don't cry…dearest." Guran Doma whispered, but the crack of his voice certainly indicated that he's trying hard to keep his own tears away. "Now I've done it…there I've gone and made you cry… My apologies, dear. Let's move away from this topic. But you will remember, won't you? What Great Org-sama gave for us…"

It took nearly all Mavis had to nod, as she felt the sob take hold of her, leaving her trembling and tasting her own salty tears. Guran Doma dried his face with a handkerchief, and hastily forced a smile. "Now, as I was saying…Org-sama's Archive of Future did…sadly remark of the possibility of a second Dark Age…But there had been a chance to eliminate it… Org-sama stated in the 'Archive of Future' that our very own Life Goddess, Ikaruga-san will at the X765…happen by a small village known as the Kibou, the Hope Village, to discover a delivery of a baby. Why don't you continue here, dearest Life Goddess?"

All heads turned to the said Goddess, and instantly Mavis saw the once grieving eyes morphing into indescribable fear. "O-of course, as your honor orders, Great Guran Doma-sama. Well, Mavis-sama… That wintery night….let's see…of December 21, X765… I have been near the village to do my usual work of deciding which families are worthy of a bundle of joy…But I had not expected to sense that Magic…" Upon here her eyes cautiously scanned across the room as she hugged herself from fear, "I'm sure you're all well aware, save for a few of us prior to the War, of how tainted his Magic felt. I cannot…tell you how shocked and terrified I was when I first sensed it. I looked over my list, not once or twice, but three times. None presented on the list, however, marked the delivery of anyone with a past life of sins as…terrifying as what I felt. For most, even the infants reincarnated from the worst pasts… are at most a few meager thieves and bandits. But to have….someone reminding me of that one evil…I- I cannot imagine anyone else but…Areyuski himself."

"And then?" Mavis watched with great fright from Ikaruga's words as her father gently probed the conversation along. "What happened?"

"Y-yes…I left at most to find this source of evil Magic. What I found eventually, was at a small cottage at the edge of the village. The mother and the father of the child were known as Yuzuki and Akira respectively. Their surname was Kiyomizu. Yuzuki had just given birth to a son…and it is that child…that I detected as the source of the black Magic similar to A-Areyuski's… I-I tried to explain to them that I must take the child…but as one would expect, the father resisted me desperately, called me a lunatic and ordered me out…I then…had to take the child by force. And I assure you it broke my own heart- to do something so, so against…my own purpose and nature…"

There was a sudden interruption of a sigh and with great surprise, Mavis found Cobra sitting at the other side of the great table, looking very much annoyed but worried nonetheless. "I told you this before, Ikaruga-san. You did it for the good of the Three Worlds. When will you stop tormenting yourself over this?"

"It doesn't matter!" She cried suddenly. Cobra raised an eyebrow as Mavis and many others looked at the suddenly angered Goddess with shock. "I still broke the heart and shattered the joy of a family! I grabbed the child and made a run for it…while his father and mother howled with sorrow and anger behind me… I- I think that's what triggered it…Their screams…and then…the child released this black wave of Dark Magic."

"Y-you never told me of such, Ikaruga!" Guran Doma's eyes narrowed thoughtfully. But both his and Mavis's grew round with fright as the Goddess suddenly rolled up her kimono sleeve, and there inflicted upon her what should be otherwise flawless, pearly skin lies strands of dark gray. "What the-"

Amidst of all the gasps and shocked whispers, Cobra's eyes narrowed thoughtfully, "So it's still there."

Mavis couldn't help but turn to him in shock, so he had seen it before?

"It used to black for the first few human years," Ikaruga murmured, obviously trying to soothe the clamored reaction of the other Immortals but only failing miserably. "I think it is gradually fading away…as now it is only a darker shade of gray."

"But- but you weren't supposed to have it at all!" Belno whispered, but the horror that lies in her voice was still captured by Mavis's ears. "Even fatal wounds are supposed to heal instantly! A-and yet you've had it for what? A few human years at the very least? T-that's a few centuries in our time!"

"Not to mention the fact that even though one human year is a century for us, the time still feels the same. You are aware that times run differently for us Immortals and the mortals, are you not? Even though every year for us Immortals feels like a normal human year of 365, it takes a hundred of those to have the human's time lapse into a year in Earth Land." Guran Doma's eyes were wide with fear, even as he tries to retain his cool and control. "Why…have you never told us of this?"

At the stern voice of the High God, Mavis watched as Ikaruga's head inclined into a bow. "I apologize, Great Guran Doma-sama…But I knew…it would certainly lead to this... reaction. And I cannot bear the thought of upsetting you all…"

Mavis watched worriedly as her father released an exasperated sigh. "Very well, Ikaruga. I will see what I can do about that arm later, as for now…what happened after he….burned you with that Dark Magic of his?"

"I teleported away, Guran Doma-sama, so that they shall not be able to reclaim the child. But when the dark wave struck me, I felt my entire body void of energy, it was as if he had stolen and absorbed my powers. Luckily, I got away before I lost consciousness. " The Goddess breathed deeply as the small tremble that had previously plagued her faded away. It was also somewhat comforting for Mavis to see as she assumed that the worst of Ikaruga's story had passed. "Later...I hid myself and the child into a spell barrier, and thought about what to do. I thought about killing him, but then I realized that as the child was never registered on my list, I'd have no idea when he may reborn, and God forbid, should I not have found him…would he have grown back into that former bastard? So I decided that I could not kill the child. For even if I did, I will never know if he reincarnates again in some other corner of the world. And if the unthinkable happens, suppose he's influenced again into that darkness… what'll happen to the world, given its already chaotic nature at the time? Thus, I consulted with the honorable God of Peace- Cobra-kun."

Upon here Mavis felt her gaze, following everyone else's', shift towards the Peace God, who responded with a nod. "I asked him to raise the child, as under his influences, the child certainly will be raised into a righteous, loving God. Cobra-kun saw my reasoning, and decided to take the child back here to Heaven…as what can be a better nursing ground for a loving God? However, it seems as if this had failed…perhaps I should have killed the brat back then after all…I apologize to you all, as the only reason why we're still worried about him stabbing us behind our back is partially due to the fact that I had allowed him to live. And please don't blame Cobra-kun. He had tried to kill the child; I assure you of that…I was the reason as to why that didn't happen. So if you all honorable Gods and Goddesses ever find the reason to blame, I'm here. After all, I have wasted such a rare coincident at discovering his reincarnation at the night of his rebirth…"

Her voice trailed off, thick with regret. Desperately, Mavis turned back to her parents, aren't they going to do something about Ikaruga-san's guilt? It's not entirely her fault, she had a good reason!

"You needn't feel responsible for the sins of that monster, dear Ikaruga." Belno's voice suddenly cut through her thoughts. And although Mavis had expected one of her parents to stand up and clear the air, she was still surprised at the seriousness of her mother's voice. "I see that we have somewhat again wandered off topic. But that is alright after all, Ikaruga, you must understand that this isn't your fault- or anyone else's for that matter. This had been deemed into happenstance, by none other than destiny. And try as we might, even we Immortals cannot stop the gears of time and destiny. The only ones that have such powers…are humans."

The Life Goddess looked up, obviously moved by Belno's words. Surprised Mavis found fragile drops of tears outlining her eyes. "Belno-sama…"

Her mother nodded with a small smile. "In fact, dear Ikaruga, believe it or not, this had since millenniums ago been recorded into the Archive of Future. Org-sama had figured this out a long time ago. But since he had written the Archive of Future with a really, really old language that spans to hundreds of millions of years ago, it took a long time for us to decode to find out all about this. Had we known ahead of time…we'd never had allowed that cowardly demon soldier to slip through our defense that day…and to think it was but of a minor attack that will never cause any future problem! Alas….mayhap the devious Fate itself had arranged for Rurcorlus to meet that demon and eventually be dragged to Hell. But it doesn't change the fact that Org-sama knew all of this were bound to happen. He knew he'd…sacrifice himself for all of the Three Worlds. He knew destiny would have had you at that village that fateful night. He knew that Cobra-san would have accepted the role as the monster's father. He knew Hades would eventually meet the young him. After all, this all had been recorded into the Archive of Future. He even knew…that this stain of existence, or Jellal or whatever other hideous titles he calls himself…would eventually be destroyed by the one and only person he'll eventually come to love: Erza Scarlet!"

Looking back from later on, Mavis knew that her heart died that day when her mother spilled out this truth.

Hi, guys. Thanks for all the reading and the supports. I know it's kinda greedy for m to ask: but can you guys please drop a review? XD I miss reading 'em so much, and staying in touch with all of you. Now, I know I put in a lot of info in this chappie, so if you found anything you don't understand or can't digest, please send me a PM or a review regarding to the part you didn't get. Thanks! Plus, although APs are over for me, I'm not sure if that's the case for the rest of you. So if I distracted you with this chapter, sorry. Oh yeah, and then there's the issue with upcoming regents. Sigh…for the last three chaps (counting this one) I found I only have time to update at midnight. Still, can't have y'all waiting forever! XD Good night! Or day, depending where and when you're reading. Lol. Oh yeah, before I forget: the goal is 320, good luck reaching it. xD

Also, here's a mini game. Org's ultimate spell, Light of Justice, is 70,741times the power of a Nuclear bomb (TOTAL). So what word does Zeref's ultimate spell resemble? It's 63,478 (-)times of a Nuclear bomb. BOTH NUMBERS ARE MADE FOR PURE ENTERTAINMENT ONLY, PLEASE DO NOT FREAK OUT! Lol. Good luck guessing!
