Chris and I stood still for what seemed forever. Chris stood his ground with his weapon drawn, sweat ran down his face as the room temperature continued to rise from the fires below us. I popped my neck, and then vanished before Chris could open fire. Chris turned to his side and dodged me as I reappeared in front of him, opening fire as he turned to face me. The rifle's rounds hit the pillar in the far corner of the room, but I had managed to dodge them by doing several backflips and landed on my hands and knees, "You're good Chris, I can see why Albert had such an issue fighting you."
"The same can be said about you Alex, you are a lot stronger and faster than Albert, but that won't save you, for you're just as crazy as he." Chris replied, as he opened fire again.
Instead of dodging the rounds, I stood up and blocked them from hitting my face and body with my arms. Chris stopped to reload, but froze as I began to heal rapidly, "See Chris, there is no winning here. As soon as you damage me, my body instantly heals."
Chris nodded, "You might be right, but how does your body like Dragon Breath?"
Chris locked a clip into his rifle and opened fire again, this time the rounds were hotter than normal. The first round grazed my shoulder and I could tell that they were incendiary rounds. If any of the rounds managed to actually hit my vital points, my regenerative abilities would be negated. I could not allow this, so I quickly took a step forward and vanished. Chris stopped firing and was trying to scan the room for me. I quickly reappeared beside him and when he turned to open fire, I kicked the gun out of his hands and hit him in the chest with an open palm strike.
The force of the strike sent Chris backwards and into a pillar. I vanished and Chris managed to dodge one of my jump kicks, just in time that, had enough force to go through the pillar. Chris, now unarmed, jumped into the air and tried to punch me. Without looking I grabbed his fist and broke free from the pillar, kicking Chris in the side as I spun around on one heel. The impact cracked a rib or two of his and sent him to the floor.
I took several steps forward until I was over Chris, "Look how far you have fallen. You humans are all the same, weak and fragile; yet you continue to destroy this planet for you own personal gain. I cannot allow that anymore, and now that your leader is dead, your little army will fall soon."
Chris pulled a handgun from his boot and pulled the trigger several times while he shouted, "Not while I'm alive."
I allowed the bullets to hit me as I reached down to grab Chris by the throat. I slowly lifted him off the ground, and Chris fired his last two shots into my head. I flinched from the force of the bullets digging into my skull, but the bullets were quickly pushed out by the Gaia virus as it healed me. Chris dropped the handgun and began to punch me in face over and over again. I finally got annoyed with him hitting me and tossed him onto a nearby metal desk with enough force to break the desk in half. Chris let out a quiet grunt of pain as he rolled away from me.
I jumped over the desk and blocked his path. I looked over and shook my head. He was trying to get his M16. I walked over to the rifle and with a hard stomp, I crushed the metal beneath my boot, "Get up Chris! Get up and fight me like you fought Albert! Do not die like your old partner did. Do not bore me like she did."
Chris' eyes grew wide, "What did you do to Sheva?"
I smiled as I started to walk back to Chris, "I killed her, and she did not even put up a fight."
"YOU BASTARD!" Chris shouted as he quickly shot up from the floor and tried to tackle me.
He was not strong enough to knock me to the ground, but I smiled as he managed to push me back a few inches. I got ready to knee him, when he quickly picked me up and suplexed me onto the back of my neck. I felt my neck break from the impact. Chris did not give up from that or allow me time to breath for he quickly let go and got on top of me, punching me repeatedly until I felt my jaw break and several of my teeth shatter from the force of his punches. I could feel his anger and hatred with each blow. He continued to punch me until he could not do it anymore.
He fell backwards and leaned against a pillar, breathing heavily. My face was nothing but a bloody mess and Chris' fists were covered in my blood. I could not help but laugh at him as my body began to heal. Without any effort I started to push myself off the floor, laughing as the bones and muscles were the first to heal, then the skin was grown back. Small vines moved forming into the bones, muscles, and skin. Chris tried to move to launch another attack, but was too tired from his first beat down. I got to my feet before Chris could. I started to walk towards Chris again, and as I walked, I punched one of the half walls and my fist went through the plywood wall, "That was a nice try Chris, but your time is up."
I vanished and reappeared in front of Chris, but as my face was just inches from his, I felt a sharp pain in my gut. I looked down and smirked. Chris had pulled out his knife and stabbed me. I grabbed his wrist and forced the knife deeper into my gut, "Pain is nothing but an illusion to me, but let's see how much pain is an illusion to you."
I pulled the knife out and quickly made him stab himself. Chris screamed, and I smiled, "You feel that? That's my blood running in your veins. The Gaia virus is in my blood and now it is in you."
Chris looked up at me and tried to pull the knife out and I forced it deeper into his arm, and Chris screamed in pain. With my free hand I hit him in the chest with an open palm strike. I felt air in his chest get forced out, and his whole body went limp. I let go of his hands and the knife, and watched as Chris collapsed to the floor. I smiled and started to walk away, "Don't die on me just yet. When the clock strikes midnight, then you have my permission to die Chris."
Chris pulled the knife out and I could already see the virus taking hold over his wound. I walked over to him, and smiled, "Do not worry dear Chris; I do not see you as someone who is fit to have the gift of Gaia."
I lifted up my boot, and with one solid stomp I crushed his arm. He screamed louder than ever as bone shattered and the skin tore from his body. I lifted up my boot again and gave him another solid stomp and blood splattered my face as I had separated his arm from his body. The pain must have been too much for Chris for he passed out, and a large pool of blood formed around his now separated arm and shoulder. I watched him for a second to see if the infection had spread, but it had not. I smiled as I picked up his knife from the floor. Killing him while he was passed out would be quick and easy.
Just as I was about to slash his throat and end Chris Redfield for good, the building shook. I looked around, and as soon as I did the floor collapsed. The fire from below must have weakened the support beams. As soon as we landed on top of the floors below us, the ceiling and roof also came crashing down around us. In the end we were buried under hundreds of pounds of rubble for what seemed to be for hours. My strength was finally at its end as my body tried to repair itself as it was continuously being crushed. I could hear the BSAA troops and Claire looking for Chris. If they found me in my current state, they would be able to capture me. I quickly took the form of the pilot I had absorbed back on the German aircraft carrier and started to shout for help in a more American accent.
"Help, I'm down here." I shouted.
I could feel them moving a boulder and several hands helped me up. As they pulled me from the rubble, I quickly looked around for Claire. She was nowhere to be seen. The BSAA soldiers quickly pointed their rifles at me and I responded by putting my arms up. One of the soldiers asked, "Who are you and why were you trapped under all this rubble?"
"I am just a tech officer. I was working on the second floor when a plane crashed. When I tried to escape I was trapped by the fire. I swear! Please don't shoot."
The soldier bought it and lowered his weapons. They took me to an ambulance where they checked out my fake wounds. They rushed me to a hospital. On our way there, I overheard them talk on the radio with the rescue team that they found Chris and that he was alive but barely. With the news of Chris' survival, I killed the two EMTs in the ambulance and made a detour back to an airport. Once there, I hijacked a private plane and left. I needed to return to Rain, and see if she had found the traitor, Ada.
