"Come oooooooonnn!"
"No."
"Come oooooooonnn!"
"No."
"Come ooooooooooooooooonnn!"
"Answer isn't gonna change, baby girl."
"... Come oooooooooooooonnnn!"
Joe started to laugh at the pout the formerly blonde woman had on her face. Shaking his head at her, Allie huffed before turning to Colby and giving him a bright smile.
"No."
"Oh, come oooo-" Allie began to whine again, but was cut off.
"Oh for the love of God," Jon spoke up with a laugh, interrupting her plead. "Would one of you just let her? She isn't gonna stop until one of you gives in."
Joe and Colby looked at each other for a moment before they both held up their fists. They battled in rock, paper, scissors for best two out of three until Joe came up the loser and Colby smiled triumphantly.
Joe sighed in defeat, then sat down on the floor against the couch in their locker room as Allie smiled excitedly. Skipping over to her bag, she dug through it for a moment before slipping back to the couch and perching herself on it behind Joe.
"Where the hell is Steph?" He grumbled as Allie began to comb out his long black hair. "You could be doing this to her."
"She's in a meeting with the divas and creative. You know that," Allie answered, using the comb to part Joe's hair down the middle. "Besides, it's more fun to play with your hair."
Setting the comb down, Allie gathered up some hair on the right side of Joe's head and began to French braid it into pigtails. Colby and Jon watched on, biting their lips to keep from laughing as Joe shot them death glares.
"So what's on your devious mind for tonight, princess?" Jon asked after composing himself enough to talk without laughing.
"Just an in-ring promo," Allie chuckled as she continued to work her way down Joe's head. "They're too afraid to put me in a match right now with Cena involved. Vince knows that I'll most likely jump script just to get my hands on him."
"What about us?" Colby asked as he pulled his own hair back in a low bun.
"You've got your match against Punk and the Outlaws," she reminded them as tied off the first braid before continuing onto the next one. "Then we'll head out for the promo at the end of the night."
"Orton here tonight?" Jon asked leaning back in his chair and drumming his fingers on the armrest.
Allie shook her, keeping her eyes on her task, "No, they've got him scheduled for some promotional stuff this week."
"Well at least that's one we don't have to worry about," Joe spoke up from the floor. "I know we agreed to give him a chance, but I just don't trust that asshole."
"I'm not asking you guys to trust him," Allie said, pausing to pat Joe on the shoulder. "Heaven knows I don't fully trust him, but I'm trying to give him the chance."
"I'm telling you now," Joe grumbled, "if he even thinks about double crossing you, I'll reach down his throat and turn him inside out."
Allie giggled at that image before leaning forward and placing a kiss to the back of Joe's head. "Such a protective big brother. What the hell do I need Orton for anyway? I've already got the two best big brothers a girl could ask for."
"Damn right!" Colby agreed with a smile, fist pumping the air.
"Nobody fucks with our little sister," Joe chuckled.
"Even if she's got you looking like a princess?" A voice came from the doorway. They turned to see a very amused Steph leaning against the door frame, with Moxley under her arm, taking in the sight before her.
"You weren't here to protect me," Joe scoffed. "I got outnumbered."
"Liar," Colby bellowed, pointing an accusing finger at him. "You lost fair and square." He then spun towards Steph with a beaming smile. "Your boy sucks at rock, paper, scissors."
"I'll be sure to keep that in my arsenal as a dispute settler," Steph laughed as she made her way into the room and sat next to Allie on the couch. She eyed the other woman's work as Moxley sniffed the back of Joe's head, then snorted out a sneeze.
"Even Mox is judging you," Jon laughed, making the puppy wag his tail excitedly at the sound of his name, then jumped down and tried to scoot across Joe's lap to Jon, but was caught by the Samoan.
"Listen here, kid" Joe said lifting him up so they were nose to nose. "Let me give you a little piece of advice. It's not smart to mock bigger dogs than you. Just ask your dad, who spend his free time getting his ass kicked by Uncle Joe."
"Pfft," Jon scoffed, as Moxley yipped happily at Joe, before licking his nose. "You wish, Pippy Longstocking."
Joe shot Jon a look, swinging his leg over and nailing Jon in the shin. Jon yelled out in pain, as Joe set Moxley down and the puppy scurried to his dad. Jon rubbed at his shin as he eyed the puppy perched at his feet. "You're gonna come over here expecting love from me after you just sided with your uncle?" Moxley yipped, before licking and nudging his hand with a whimper asking for lovin'.
"You really gonna deny the baby?" Colby pouted at Jon with big puppy dog eyes, laughing when Jon pushed him. Reaching down, Jon scooped Moxley up into his lap and cuddled the puppy against his chest.
"The family has you spoiled, squirt," Jon chuckled as Moxley licked at his face repeatedly.
A knock at the door interrupted them. Colby stood and moved to the door, pulling it open and revealing a crew member.
"Sorry to interrupt guys," the crew member said as he looked between the three members of The Shield. "I was told to let you know that Hunter wants to see you after your match tonight."
"For what?" Allie asked curiously, not having gotten any notices of a meeting.
"I'm not sure," he answered, turning his attention to Allie. "I was just told that he wanted to see Joe, Colby and Jon."
"Not me?" Allie blurted out in defense.
"Not that I was told," he answered, shaking his head. Allie simply nodded, as the crew member took his leave.
"Wonder what Hunter wants?" Colby asked, as he shut the door and moved back into the room, resuming his seat next to Jon.
"I don't know," Allie answered slightly annoyed. "I wasn't told about this."
"I'm sure everything's fine," Colby resonded. "It was probably last minute."
"Yea, maybe," Allie said, still not convinced.
Later that night, Allie was making her way towards gorilla, keeping an eye open for the boys. Their match had ended over a half an hour ago and she still hadn't heard from them. She had tried to text and call all three of them and had even tried to call Hunter and had been unsuccessful in reaching any of them. Steph had disappeared about fifteen minutes prior in order to search for the guys and had yet to return.
Something was wrong. She could feel it.
As she approached gorilla, she asked the crew around her if they had seen The Shield or Steph anywhere.
"The Shield is suppose to be a part of this segment," she said worriedly.
"We were told it would just be you tonight," one of the crew members spoke up with a look of confusion as he looked down through the script. "Yea, right here," he showed Allie. "Allie promo. Solo (Shield removed)."
"Why wasn't I told about this?" Allie asked angrily.
"I don't know, Allie," he stammered, taking a step back from the angry woman. "It was given to us not that long ago. We assumed you had been told."
"No. I wasn't," she snapped, turning to look back down the corridor for any signs of Steph or the guys. Seeing no one, she took a deep calming breath, before turning back to the crew. "Alright. Fine. Cue up my music."
As soon as the arena went black the crowd erupted knowing that Allie was finally making her way to the ring. It had been announced throughout the night that she woud be addressing her sudden attacks on John Cena. When her music hit and her purple spotlight came up and illuminated her on the stage the crowd got louder. In torn jeans, black boots, a Shield tshirt and her black leather jacket, the raven haired Anti-Diva began to make her way down the ramp.
Once inside the ring, Allie walked to the far side to retrieve a mic from one of the ring attendants. She walked back to the center of the ring and stopped as the music was cut off. She stood there for a couple moments and looked out into the arena at all the fans. They cheered her on as they waited for her to speak.
"You know, grudges, they're a funny thing," Allie spoke calmly to them as she paced slowly around the ring. "We're told throughout our lives that holding grudges are a waste of time, a waste of perfectly good energy, and a waste of life. I agree... but the problem with just letting some grudges go is that you still have this blemish inside of you. When you try and let that grudge go and the cause of that grudge hinders you from moving on, it makes that blemish resurface. Then all that blemish can do is sit and fester. It begins to expand and starts to consume you. It eats at your heart and warps your soul, until one day you're looking in the mirror and you have no idea who the person is staring back at you."
The arena had gone eerily silent as they listened to her speak. She had consumed their sttention and she felt as if they were hanging on her every word. It felt empowering. It was motivating.
"Thats why they tell you to let grudges go," Allie began again. She spoke as if she was having a converstion with her closest friends, trying to give them an insight on what made the woman in front of them tick. "Because now you're in too deep. It's now either you or this blemish and you'll be damned if its going to be you that falls. You have to fight. You have to win. By all means necessary."
The crowd roared it's approval at her, making her give them a small smile.
"So with that being said," she smirked as she now faced the camera. "The powers-that-be told me to come out here and explain myself." she thumped the hand that held the mic against the other in an authoritative manner, making the crowd chuckle. "What gives me the right to attack the poster child of the company? What has John Cena ever done to me? He's John Cena. He stands for hustle, loyalty and respect."
Allie took a breath as she looked around the arena once more. She huffed a sarcastic laugh and shook her head as she brought the mic back to her lips. "Once upon a time, that wasn't the case. Allow me to take a moment and share the truth about John Cena." Allie pointed to the screen and everyone watch as the tron played the ending of the triple threat match between Cena, Orton and Allie. The match that had almost ended her career.
When the clip finished playing, the arena was now booing and Allie had a look of determination on her face as she addressed the camera again. She leant forward, placing her left hand on her knee, as if talking to a child. "John Cena, I'm calling your bluff." She then stood up to her full height again and spoke to the audience. "You're good at playing superhero, but what the world fails to see is that you're actaully the villian in disguise. So, the powers want to know what I want with John Cena." Turning to look back in the camera, Allie snarled as her eyes flashed with malice, "What I want is retribution against Cena and Orton for what they did to me all those years ago."
The crowd cheered loudly, but those cheers quickly turned to boos when Cena appeared on the screen. He looked to be standing in the parking lot just outside the arena, with an arrogant smile on his face.
"Well if it isn't our resident psycho," he laughed clapping his hands together. "You talk a big game, but do you honestly think you have any right coming in here and threatening my safety? I mean, I know you've been gone for a while, but I think you need a lesson on just who John Cena actually is."
"Oh I know exactly who you are,'' Allie chuckled, placing a hand on her hip. "You are just another corporate sellout who would do anything to stop anyone who might be a threat. Isn't that what you did? You and Orton were threatened by me, so you hashed a master plan to take me out of the picture?"
"That's quite the fairy tale, Allie," John laughed loudly, mocking her. "The way I remember it, is that you were just a scared little girl who couldn't hack it with the big boys. You choked and instead of admitting defeat, you ran like the little brat you are."
"You wanna talk fairy tales?" Allie snapped. "Let's talk about the fantasy world you seem to be living in." She paced closer to the ring ropes and leaned against them. "Consider this a warning. This is where your story ends. There is no happily ever after for John Cena, because I won't stop until I see the empire you've built crumble at your feet. Payback is a bitch, Cena. And so am I!"
The arena roared in excitement and positivity at Allie's promise, while Cena laughed sarcastically. She stepped back from the ropes and eyed him carefully. She didn't like it. She could feel that he was up to something.
"That's an awefully big promise to fullfill, when you can barely keep your sanity together," he said, before giving her a studying stare, as if he was looking for something. "But, uh, aren't you missing something?" Cena asked with an evil smirk. "Seems to me as though you look lonelier than usual out there, Al."
"Awww, do you miss Maverick already, Cena?" Allie sneered, her tone mocking. "I'd be happy to go get him if you want to spend some quality time with him."
Cena's eyes flashed in anger, "I'm not talking about that demon with wings." His tone quickly changed back to one of pleased arrogance. "Where are your boys, Allie?" Allie's heart stopped for a moment as she took in his meaning. Fear washed over her and it showed for only a moment before anger consumed her. "Where's your precious Shield?"
"What did you do, Cena?" Allie bellowed at him. "Where are they?"
"They're right here, princess," John mocked as he crouched down in between the three men who laid motionless around him. "Here are your beloved princes." Allie felt the bile rise up in her throat as she took in the carnage around Cena. Without thinking she charged towards the ropes, making to exit the ring.
"Wait right there, Allie," Cena's voice stopped her as she looked back up at the screen. It was now zoomed back in on Cena, who was standing upright once again. "I think you're forgetting the other damsel in this story."
The camera pulled back and Allie felt the anger boil over as she screamed in rage at the screen. Cena's hand was grasped firmly in the hair of a bound and gagged, Lexi. The arena sounded their displeasure at seeing the WWE sweetheart and Diva's champion struggling in Cena's evil grasp, but honestly Allie couldn't hear them. Her heartbeat in her ears drowned out all the noise around her and kept her focused on the screen.
"Now surely you wouldn't want any harm to come to her, right?" Cena asked maliciously as he grazed his nose up and down Steph's cheek. Allie heard the disgusted growl from Galaxy, before the brunette's eyes flashed towards her. The message was clear, but Allie's didn't know if she could stomach what the result would be.
"What do you want, Cena?" Allie growled at him. His focused remained on the side of Steph's face.
"She's awefully pretty, Allie," Cena groaned disgustingly, his nose running down to drag along Steph's jaw.
"What the hell do you want, Cena?!" Allie bellowed into the mic, refusing to watch this any longer.
"You know what I want, baby," John smiled, his focus now back on Allie. The expression and the endearment were almost enough to make Allie vomit. "I want a trade. Lexi," he looked at Steph once again for a moment, before his eyes flashed at Allie with something she refused to see, "... for you."
The arena booed loudly in disapproval, while Lexi shook her head at Allie pleadingly, begging her not to surrender. Allie couldn't let her best friend, her sister, take this one for her. She wouldn't allow anything to happen to her if she could prevent it. Allie was left with no choice. She thought of Sami. She thought of Colby and Joe. She thought of Jon. She wouldn't let Steph become a part of that chain of destruction. It had to stop.
"Done."
The arena roared in anger, sadness, and disapproval. Lexi screamed behind her gag as she struggled against Cena. Allie paid no attention to Cena, she simply watched her best friend scream angrily at her as tears filled her eyes. Allie gave her a sad smile, glad her sister would be safe now. Steph would be safe to watch over The Shield. Allie's Shield. Their boys. And Jon. She would be there to explain to Jon, why. They would all be safe now. That's all that really mattered.
Allie watched as the angry tears fell down Steph's cheeks, before she was suddenly thrown to the ground by John. Allie felt the rage begin to boil again at the harsh treatment of her friend, but quickly reigned it in, knowing it would only cause Steph harm.
"So glad you saw things my way," Cena chuckled darkly. "It took you long enough."
"Whatever," Allie said, throwing the mic down, before trying to climb through the ropes, but was stopped once again by Cena's voice.
"Oh you can stay right there, baby," Cena smiled at her. "Wouldn't want you to get any ideas while you're walking back here." Allie gave him a confused look stepping back from the ropes. "You seriously didn't think I came alone did you?"
Allie barely had time to register what he said, before the horrified roar of the arena sounded and Allie was struck with something hard from behind. She fell to the mat, her eyes blinking rapidly trying to clear her vision. the noise around the arena began to fade out and she gave her head a gentle shake to try and clear the haze. Unsuccessful, she attempted to push herself up, but her arms buckled underneath her and she collapsed back to the mat. she laid there staring blankly out into the arena as the noise began to fade out once again and the darkness took her.
A/N: I hope that segment wasn't confusing. Normally my wrestling segments are italicized, but since its combining kayfabe for the fans and the real life drama thats going on in the story, it was just easier to leave it as normal text. Hope you guys understand what I mean. That being said... Don't kill me, lol. We are nearing the end now. We've got about 3 chapters plus an epilogue left. Leave me some reviews. They motivate me and I love hearing from you all! Thanks for reading 33333
