Everyone was packed and ready to go 15 minutes after Dean had caved to Castiel's puppy dog eyes. The fledgling was so excited he couldn't keep still. As Gabriel was packing a bag for them he had been running and spinning round the room talking twenty to the dozen about all the things he wanted to see and do outside. Gabriel had just watched him with mild amusement, though he didn't forget to pack Castiel's angel blade as well as his own. You never know, if Cassie had to protect himself he would need to have it with him. Though the only way Castiel would have to protect himself was if he, Dean and Sam were either dead of gravely injured so it was a rather unlikely occurrence. But all the same best to be prepared.

So they were all just about to head to the garage to get into the impala when Kevin came running up to them screaming

"Wait, wait." At the top of his voice.

"Kev? what is it?" Dean asked the out of breath prophet urgently, maybe Crowley had escaped or something? Kevin on the other hand upon reaching them promptly bent over clutching his side.

"I...did...it." Kevin finally managed to wheeze out.

"Did what?" Dean asked confused though Sam was quicker than him and realised just what he was talking about.

"You've translated the tablet?" Sam asked just as excited as Kevin now.

At that Kevin nodded then kind of shrugged making all the adults there frown with confusion while Castiel just frowned. He hoped that Kevin translating the tablet didn't mean he couldn't go outside. He was so looking forward to going on a trip with his brother and the Winchesters.

"Kevin. Just speak." Dean demanded, they all needed to know what was going on.

"Okay, yes I have translated the tablet but I could only translate it into a dead language." Kevin replied taking a deep breath before he continued. "If Sam stayed here he could help me find a way to translate that language into English. I hope." He finished.

Dean was just about to nod in agreement and tell Sam to help him when a cough sounded from behind him.

"Hello archangel, I can read every language there has ever been on earth, mainly cos I was around when they were created." Gabriel said holding out his hand for the papers Kevin had clutched in his.

At that Kevin looked briefly to Dean who nodded before he handed them over to the archangel. It wasn't like he didn't trust the guy, it was just he trusted Dean more.

"So what does it say?" Dean asked impatiently as Gabriel scanned over the papers.

"Well Dad was really long winded with this, or Metatron embellished it, a lot but... yes here we are. The ingredients to shut Heaven, a heart of a nephilim, a cupids bow and..." At that Gabriel trailed off as his eyes widened and he reread the words to make sure he had read them correctly the first time. But there was no mistake, it was written there as plain as day.

"And what?" Dean demanded, hell they needed to know what the spell was so they could reverse.

"The grace of an angel." Gabriel finally replied looking up at Dean and then with wide eyes they both turned as one to look at the fledgling who was standing beside them shifting from foot to foot wanting to get going.

Castiel suddenly felt all eyes on him and turned up to look. He was very confused about why they were all staring at him. What did he do?

"What is it?" He asked in a quiet voice snapping the adults out of their stares.

"Nothing you need to worry about Cassie. Did the tablet have anything else written on it?" Gabriel said turning back to Kevin who just looked at him.

Damn he had just translated the main body of the tablet as they had all been pestering him to do for weeks and now they wanted him to know more?

"Well, there's a kind of foot note, but I couldn't really understand it. I think Metatron tried to destroy it." He replied in defence.

"Okay, you need to get back on that and we need to get going on this case before anyone else gets hurt." Gabriel said turning to Dean who had opened his mouth to question him. "We can discuss this later." he finished glaring at the hunter and hoping he would get the picture that by later he meant when Castiel wasn't with them.

Dean was completely confused. Surely if an angel lost there grace they became human like Anna had done, but Cas was a fledgling, so what happened? He was just about to question Gabriel when he had finished talking to Kevin only for the archangel to glare at him and say they could discuss it later. Why not now? Then suddenly his eye caught the fledgling who was looking confused and he knew why Gabriel wanted to talk later.

"Agreed, lets go." He said instead of questioning Gabriel and with that Dean lead the way out to his baby.

Castiel was so glad that they were finally on there way he completely forgot about the strange behaviour of everyone just a few minutes ago. Instead he climbed into the back-seat of the impala and carefully put on his seatbelt with minimal problems. Then he sat with his hands in his lap to stop them from waving around in excitement and stopped himself from jumping up and down in his seat. He knew that Dean prized his car very highly and as such Castiel didn't want to do anything that would make Dean angry and make him leave him behind. It was strange, he had been perfectly happy in the bunker, until that was that the idea of going outside had been presented to him and now he could thining of nothing else. He couldn't wait to see how it had changed since his arrival at the bunker weeks ago with Dean.

Gabriel on the other hand got into the car on autopilot, sitting in the back next to his little brother. His mind was swirling around what he had just discovered.

If Metatron had taken Castiel's grace for the spell then he should have become human, not a fledgling. But he knew full well that Castiel did not have his full adult grace any more which lead him to the belief that Metatron had taken the rest. But why had he not taken it all? Did he realise that he didn't have a full angel grace? How had Castiel stopped him from taking it all? The way to extract an angels grace was to slit their throat. The only way the angel/human survived the removal was if the angel taking the grace healed them. So Metatron had to have healed Castiel after taking his. Which brought Gabriel back to how it was that Castiel had any left at all. Because he did not think for a minute that Metatron would have left him with the small amount he had. No, the spell called for all of it. So what in Dads name had happened?
