"I love you both," I murmured, as I was soothed to sleep. They both laughed at me, before I was put into the passenger seat of Sunstreaker.

Chapter 36

That night I was awoken by a sharp kick. I gasped, and clutched at my stomach, waking up both of my mates. They were groggy until they thought that I had gone into labor prematurely.

"Love?" Sunny asked, running a hand down my back gently.

"Sweetling what's wrong?" Sideswipe asked, as tears began to pour out of my eyes.

"Ugh," I groaned, as one of the twins kicked me again, as hard as they were able. It was not a pleasant feeling and I was less than amused by this.

"Do we need to get Ratchet?" Sunny asked, sounding scared. I shook my head, my breath having been knocked out of me, by the last kick.

"Are they kicking you?" Sideswipe asked, taking in the movement in my womb. I nodded, sucking in a deep breath. Sideswipe ran a hand over my abdomen, and the children quieted for a moment. That is until he lifted his hand from my abdomen, then they both gave a mighty kick. I gasped, and winced again.

"Don't kick your mama." Sunstreaker reproached the unborn twins. I laughed, a little breathless, as he ran his hand over my abdomen.

"They stop whenever they feel one of you." I stated, looking at my mates with wonder.

"They obviously know their mech creators." Sideswipe said. He as well looked as if he was in awe. One of the girls gave a little kick, directly into his hand.

"Well, know, you have to be patient for a little while longer." Sunstreaker said to my stomach. "Another six more months, before your mother and fathers get to see you both." I felt such love welling up in my heart for these two mechs who claimed me as their own.

"Yeah, but for now, we are all trying to get a little recharge. So you both need to go back to sleep." Sideswipe stated to the girls. They wiggled a little in my stomach before settling down.

"Oh, thank God." I breathed, as they settled back down to sleep.

"They calm now?" Sunny asked, still resting his hand on my abdomen. I nodded, feeling my eyelids begin to droop. "Go back to sleep love. It's still quite early or late, whichever you like to think." I did as requested, feeling myself falling back into sleep.

The next morning, I awoke first, feeling very tired. My bladder felt like it was going to explode, so I got up, letting my mate's hands fall onto the bed. I quickly used the bathroom, before sliding back into the bed, snuggling into the warmth cocoon that my mates had created.

"You awake love?" Sunny breathed into my hair, as he rolled over towards me, letting his head rest in my hair. I nodded, feeling one of his arms encircle my waist protectively.

"Yeah." I stated, feeling his breath moving some strands of my hair.

"The sparklings wake you again?" He asked, tightening his hold. I shook my head.

"No. My bladder woke me up." I said with a grin. He chuckled softly, content to just lay here with me. It took Sideswipe another half an hour to wake up.

"You both are always up before me!" Sideswipe whined, burrowing his head into my neck.

"I love you both," I whispered, feeling contented just lying in this little world of ours.

"We love you as well." Sideswipe whispered, running his lips over the shell of my ear. I shivered, causing him to smirk.

"I can tell," I laughed, before trying to sit up. Sunny helped me up. With my large stomach, it was hard for me to maneuver myself up and about, without the aid of somebot. Usually it was my mechs, though sometimes another Autobot helped me up.

"Breakfast time?" Sunstreaker asked, knowing my morning rituals as well. I nodded, just as my stomach let out a large growl. My mechs laughed, causing my cheeks to warm.

That day I had another check-up with Ratchet who informed all three of us that the sparklings were growing properly. He still said that it would probably be another five months and three weeks before I would probably give birth, though a lot of mothers did go into labor earlier, especially first child, health problems such as mine, and having duplicates.

Though Ratchet assured me that the labor would probably last a long while, we would be able to welcome two new sparks into the world. Two sparks who could possibly hold the fate of their race in their hands. Ratchet had been looking into the miracle that he claimed I was, saying that if he figured out what made me so special to just adapt to the Energon I was exposed to, and if that made a difference in the fate of their race.

For the next two weeks, I was awoken in the middle of the night by much the same thing. The girls were restless at night, kicking me constantly. I was in pain a lot of the time, and at the next check-up with Ratchet he discovered the bruises the children had been giving me.

"Why didn't you tell us?" Sideswipe scolded, as the three mechs looked in horror at the blotchy mess my distended abdomen had become. I shrugged my shoulders causing Sunstreaker to snarl at me.

"I didn't want any of you to freak out, like you are currently doing. It's not their fault." I defended the two lives inside of me. "They are just stronger than me."

"Of course they are stronger than you!" Ratchet nearly shouted. I cringed back from his wrench waving hand. "They are the result of a union between an alien race and an organic!"

"I'm sorry!" I finally burst out. "But it's not like they are purposefully trying to hurt their carrier!"

"We know that love," Sunny soothed my frayed nerves. "We just didn't realize the damage that your body is going through in order to carry our offspring."

"So you aren't going to do anything to take them out?" I asked, a little apprehensive about the whole scenario.

"Of course not!" Ratchet growled out. "My child, why would you think that?"

"Well, I guess I was just scared that the twins would want something done in order to prevent this!" I cried out, still protectively cradling my stomach from the mechs' eyes.

"Of course, we would rather the sparklings not hurt their mama, but what can we do?" Sideswipe retorted, looking a little horror filled at my suggestion.

"They are obviously going to continue to kick you, as they get older and grow more formed." Sunny said, with a little frown. "But we will try to calm them down."

"How do you plan to do that?" My father asked my mates, a little confused at their plan.

"They really like their mech creators." Sideswipe said with a grin.

"It's true. They always stop kicking me or moving whenever they feel the presence of one of their fathers." I told my father, who looked at me a little confused.

"I have never heard of anything like this." Ratchet admitted. "Interesting. They are developing akin to their human counterparts. But I need you to come see me, if something doesn't feel right. At this rate, one of these twin could break one of your bones."

"I promise I will come back and see you immediately if I get horrible pain after they kick me." I promised my father, as I allowed my mates to lead me out of the room.
