In this story Aura Weapons have the ability to sense abnormal energies like the Grimm Aura or the power of the Maidens. The reason Jin's Aura Weapon Yukianesa was able sense the power of the Maiden within the vault is because Jin has a strong bond with his Aura Weapon. Even though both Noel and Bang are owners of their respective Aura Weapons. They don't have a strong bond with them like Jin and Carl does with theirs. Both Bolverk or Phoenix Rettenjo are capable of sensing abnormal power. But because the bond with there owners aren't that high they can't do so. They will be able to develop a high bond with them in time. But it will take a while for them to do so.
Chapter 36 Immediate action
(The Underground Vault)
Ozpin is a man that is surrounded with many mysteries. A good deal of those mysteries is deeply connected to Remnants past. So its to be expected that very few things in the world can surprise Ozpin. The two students that are standing before him, are such mysteries that never ceases to surprise the Headmaster. Ragna is obviously the bigger mystery of the siblings. From everything the Professors told him, Ragna is very intelligent but rarely applies himself when it comes to his studies. But from what Glynda Goodwitch told him of Ragna, she feels a great power that is hidden within when he releases his seal. The Headmaster hasn't been present when the seals are released. But if what he's told anything to go by, his power could rival that of the Maidens, maybe even surpass it. Jin on the other hand is straight forward for the most past. Though what makes him a mystery is the fact that he is in tuned with his Aura Weapon, and that he's highly skilled with it warrants some attention. Ozpin noticed that Jin has been sneaking around Beacon for the past few months. So the headmaster suspected that it was only a matter of time before Jin found the Vault. Though he didn't expect to be with Ragna, the Headmaster was prepared for it.
"What do you mean by this place being a Vault and this woman being a Maiden?" Ragna asked the Headmaster
"Its exactly what I said Ragna, there are a lot of mysteries in this world and you two are in the presence of one of them. First I must ask you two, what do you know about the fairy tale Story of the Seasons?" Professor Ozpin asked the brothers
"I know about that fairy tale Headmaster, but what does that have to do with what's going on now?" Jin asked maintaining his calm demeanor
"The relevance that fairy tale has is that it is real Jin. The proof is the young woman that is in that pod behind you two. She is the Fall Maiden, her name is Amber and she was recently attack for her power. That machine she's in is made of state of the art Atlus technology and it is the only thing keeping her stable." Professor Goodwitch told the brothers
"If that machine is the only thing keeping her stable, then why is there two pods instead of one?" Jin asked the two Professor's causing the both of them to quickly glance at each other
"We're trying to find the person who attacked Amber and restore her power. It doesn't look like it, but we're at the brink of a war. Our group has been trying to maintain peace for a long time. Recently though, several things occurred that complicated matters. There are four Maidens in total and they each have immense power. In fact, that power is similar to magic." Professor Ozpin explained the brothers after being a quick glance from Professor Goodwitch
"Magic, similar to Nine." Ragna thought to himself before Professor Ozpin continued explaining
"The Maidens have existed for hundreds of years. Unfortunately, there are individuals who seek the Maidens with a lust for power. Amber was attacked by such individuals and half of her powers were stolen. Also to complicate matters further, nobody has seen the power of the Maidens separated like this before." Professor Ozpin said finishing his explanation
"You said group earlier, who are the other members?" Ragna said in a stern tone
"Certain individuals who understand the full picture Ragna. As you can expect, it's a rather small number." Professor Goodwitch answered Ragna
"Would one of these individuals be General Ironwood?" Jin asked while giving both the Professor's an observant gaze
"Your quite perceptive Jin." Professor Ozpin commented while giving Jin the answer
"Do any of you guys know anything about the threat?" Ragna asked maintaining his earlier tone with hints of frustration
"The only thing we know for certain is that the threat is here in Vale. We know they made the first move, but their next move is a mystery to us. Tempting as it is to question or imprison every suspicious individual out there. We need undeniable evidence that proves the identity of Amber's assailant." Professor Ozpin told Ragna answering his question
"So let me see if I got this right, for starters you know that the threat is here in Vale right?" Ragna asked the Headmaster
"Yes." Professor Ozpin answered while giving Ragna a focused look
"Then, you and the other people in your group decide that the best way to protect her is for her to be here in the school. Where there are lot of students training to be Huntsmen or Huntresses who are also being trained by professionals." Ragna told the Headmaster
"Since the threat is here, having Amber be in a place where there are a good number of capable fighters is a good defense. Not to mention that it will make things easier in terms of being able to keep an eye on her." Professor Ozpin told Ragna causing the white-haired teen to give him a quick look before he spoke
"So your telling me that the threat is here, looking for the other half of the power? While also planning something big for the school, putting the students and professors on the front lines of the defenses." Ragna said to Professor Ozpin
"Yes Ragna, these are desperate times and they call for desperate measures." Professor Ozpin said
"I see." Ragna said as he was walking towards the Headmaster. Before anyone could question what Ragna was doing, Ragna used a great deal of his strength and speed to punch Ozpin in the jaw. The punch was strong enough to knock the Headmaster back a bit. Before Ragna could do anything further, Professor Goodwitch used her semblance to restrain him. While Jin stood in front of Ragna with the intent to hold him back.
"YOU BASTARD!" Ragna yelled while trying to use his strength to move and punch the Headmaster again.
"Ragna, that attack will not be . . . . "Professor Goodwitch said in a stern tone before the Headmaster motioned her to stop after getting up
"Its alright Glynda, I can understand his anger." Professor Ozpin said while rubbing his jaw before Glynda released her semblance on Ragna
"YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND A DAMN THING!" Ragna yelled maintaining his anger
"Ragna calm down, attacking the Headmaster won't accomplish a thing." Jin said as he was holding Ragna back
"HOW CAN I CALM DOWN JIN? This bastard knows the threat is coming for her and decides to hide her in the school. Knowing full well that this will be putting a lot of people in danger. The students, the Professors, even the people of Vale. To make it worse, they will be in danger for something that they don't know or understand. How can this bastard live with something like that!" Ragna yelled out maintaining his anger at the Headmaster
"Ragna, when people enroll into the Academy. They are prepared to give their lives in battle. I know it is hard to accept, but this is an acceptable risk." Professor Ozpin told Ragna
"This is completely different, and you know it! When people enroll into these schools they know the risks and the dangers and made their choice. But this is different, they don't know the risks and they don't know that they are in danger. I get that you can't cause a panic among the public but putting the lives of the students at risk without them having a choice!" Ragna yelled out to everyone while getting a silent response. Even though the Headmaster is adamant on his choice. He admitted that Ragna made some good points, unfortunately the Headmaster's mind is made up.
"Ragna, as much as I want to see you dig an even deeper hole for yourself. Attacking the Headmaster and making an enemy of him and Professor Goodwitch won't achieve anything. Professor Ozpin has made up his mind about the matter and attacking him won't make a difference." Jin told Ragna while holding him back. After a few seconds of thinking, Ragna decided to go back to the elevator after remembering that it should be fixed by now. As he was making his way there, he noticed that Professor Goodwitch was giving him a menacing glare for attacking the Headmaster but Ragna didn't care. After Ragna left, Jin decided to follow him. But before he went too far, the Headmaster spoke to him.
"Jin, I must commend you for maintaining a level head during this situation." Professor Ozpin said to Jin
"You didn't give me much of a choice Headmaster. Though I do understand the secrecy, the fact that you're willing to have the students risk their lives for something they don't know or understand. Not to mention that most students here at Beacon doesn't fully comprehend what it means to be a Huntsman or Huntress is a disastrous idea. I'm not like my brother, but I warn you only once. I will not hesitate to hold you responsible if anyone dies because of this. I'll make sure that me and Ragna, keep this Vault and the Maidens a secret." Jin said before he caught up with his brother. A few minutes after the brothers left, Professor Ozpin and Professor Goodwitch were left alone
"Sir, do you want me to get the paperwork ready for Ragna's expulsion?" Professor Goodwitch asked
"No Glynda that won't be necessary." The Headmaster responded
"Sir, I understand that Ragna was fueled by his emotions. But attacking a Headmaster is something that can't be tolerated." Professor Goodwitch said in a stern tone
"As you said he acted out of his emotions. Besides, he doesn't know anything about the one who will inherit the power of the Fall Maiden. If he did, then I doubt he would keep things quiet. Leave him alone for now, for I'm confident he'll keep things quiet." Professor Ozpin told Professor Goodwitch
(The Abandoned Building in the Southeast Area of Vale)
After a rather intense argument between Ruby and Bang for who will be keeping watch of certain areas. It was eventually decided by a coin toss with Ruby winning. Even though Bang swears that the coin toss was rigged, he conceded to the results and Ruby ended up keeping watch of her selected position in the building. While everyone else decided to sleep except for Baiken and Bang. Baiken made the decision to get back to training Bang while keeping watch of one area, while Ruby was keeping watch of another area. At the moment, Bang was practicing several jabs against Baiken while she was blocking with her sword.
"Not bad Bang, it looks like your starting to get a faster with the weights on. Looks like you'll have a handle on your Aura Weapon soon enough." Baiken said while blocking the hits from Bang with relative ease.
"I wouldn't have made it this far if it wasn't for the training you provided for me. If you don't mind, there is something I would like to ask you." Bang told Baiken causing the both of them to stop
"Alright, we can stop for a few minutes. What is it you want to ask me?" Baiken asked Bang
"Well I've noticed that you've been asking my teammates on why they want to be Huntsman and Huntresses. For starters, what do you think about our reasons for the path that we have chosen?" Bang asked in a curious tone
"You have reasonable ideals but don't have the strength to make them a reality. Bullet sees it as another job to pursue, Tao is doing it for the experience. Amane is doing it for the sake of the people. Even though you and Amane have a proper understanding to be Huntsmen. You're the only one who doesn't have the strength to see those ideals through." Baiken told Bang
"Then I have another question Baiken, why did you decide to be a Huntress? I see that you take your duties as a Huntress very seriously. So I assume that there must be a good reason." Bang asked Baiken
"Alright." Baiken said as she was removing parts of her robe which shocked Bang.
"Uh . . . . uh. . . . um. . . . I." Bang said flabbergasted before Baiken yelled
"Calm down idiot, I'm wearing an under shirt."Baiken said as she was removing the top part of her robe to show more of her mechanical rifle arm. After she showed her rifle arm in full, she pointed to her eyepatch and showed the scars on her stomach
"When people train to become Huntsman and Huntresses, they do it for a variety of reasons. However, a lot of those reasons become irrelevant when you realize that the job is to protect people. Me losing my arm, my eye, and my other injuries is proof of another fact of this career path. That when people choose this path, they are likely to forget that they are supposed to protect the people. When I was a little girl, I lost my family and Village to a Grimm attack. The Huntsmen and Huntresses who could've helped us. Allowed us to suffer because they nearby city paid more in advance, knowing they had plenty of defenses. Once everything was settled, a lot of people looked at the survivors with pity not understanding what we went through. My home was abandoned and the ones who could've done something left us to suffer. It was my loss that made me realize there are many Huntsmen and Huntresses that ignores that protecting the people takes priority. So I made it my mission to become the Huntress that would protect the people while making sure that others follow in my mindset." Baiken explained to Bang thoroughly to him
"I understand, I see that you carry yourself with a deep sense of resolve and purpose. Now that I think about it, your similar to Lord Tenjo." Bang told Baiken in an impressed tone
"When I was training to be a Huntress. Almost everybody said that I couldn't do it, do to having only one eye and one arm. Prosthetic technology was hard for me to come by back then. So I was severely handicapped. The only people who believed in me was my mentor and an old friend. My old friend is name Tenjo, the same Tenjo that you know. I see that you have high ideals that you want to strive for Bang. But the truth is that you don't have the strength to make those ideals a reality. Which is why its important for me to train you, so you'll be able to get the strength you need." Baiken finished explaining to Bang
"Thank you, from your story I see that you have a lot of faith in my capabilities. I can assure you, I will stick to this training and get stronger. While having the necessary wisdom of restraint. Both you and Lord Tenjo will be proud of my progress." Bang declared proudly before getting a quick jab in the stomach by Baiken.
"You still have a long way to go Bang." Baiken said before the two went back to training
(The Campfire)
While Ruby was keeping watch of the area. The two teams along with Dr. Oobleck were resting near the campfire that was made in the building. Though both teams are laying down, a good number of them are having trouble sleeping. Which is evident from their consistent tossing and turning. Eventually, Yang was the first to speak due to the thoughts in her mind.
"Hey, is there anyone still awake?" Yang asked the students nearby but in a low tone
"I'm still awake Yang." Blake answered in a low tone as well
"Same here." Bullet said which caught the girls off guard
"So are any of you thinking about what you were asked?" Yang asked
"Yeah, its still on my mind." Blake said
"What do any of you think Dr. Oobleck or Baiken was trying to learn by asking us? Do any of you think they were just curious?" Yang asked
"Its not uncommon for people to see why we chose the path that we chose. Our personal reasons play a bigger factor in our resolve than most people realize." Bullet told the two girls which briefly surprised them
"You sound like you speak from experience Bullet. I never expected that from you. So what's your story?" Yang asked Bullet in an impressed tone
"I was raised by a mercenary group for as long as I can remember. My old commander whose name is Iron Tager, would spend a lot of time training me for the career of being a Huntress. Then after a while he worked for another group. Then he started to change the things he taught me. A lot of the other mercenaries already understood. But Tager wanted to make sure I fully understood it, looking back on it." Bullet briefly explained to Yang and Blake
"I guess your upbringing is similar to mine huh?" Blake commented to Bullet
"Hey Weiss, are you awake?" Yang asked
"Of course I'm awake, the three of you are talking." Weiss said to the three girls
"Can you blame us?" Bullet asked Weiss causing the heiress to roll her eyes
"I think that there is more to them asking us. Bullet, you said that our reason effects our resolve. Now that I think about it, that makes sense. When I said I wanted to uphold my families honor I meant it. But looking back on it, I allowed myself to be nothing more than my families honor." Weiss told the three girls
"Sounds a lot like pride, and we all know what comes before the fall." Bullet commented
"One of the reasons that I like Jin so much. Is because he's the first person to see me as an individual. Not as someone who's part of the problem that my father caused. I know that my father has operated in a moral gray area since he took over." Weiss told the girls
"That's putting it lightly." Blake commented to Weiss
"Which is why I want to do what I can to redeem the family name. My father didn't start it, but I will not let him end it." Weiss said with a tone of resolve
"I've always fought for what I thought was right. But looking back on some of the decisions I've made. I've never really thought about what I was doing is the right thing. My friend who was more of a mentor always assured me that what we were doing is making the world a better place. But his perfect future wasn't good for everyone." Blake told everyone before she continued
"I joined the Academy because Huntsmen and Huntresses were regarded as noble warriors. Always fighting for good and protecting the people. Like the Six Heroes who destroyed the Aura Beast. But now that I think about it, I never really looked past that. A lot of injustice has been done to the Faunus, but the White Fang who were supposed to be a symbol of unity between the Humans and Faunus made things a lot worse. Wrong has been done from both sides, how do I undo so many years of hate?" Blake asked
"I'm sure you'll figure it out Blake. You've always been smart and clever for as long as I've known you." Yang said with confidence
"But I also run away a lot. When you guys found out I was a Faunus I ran. When the White Fang were committing those crimes, I ran from the truth knowing that they would have done those things. When the investigation went wrong, I threw the blame around but I was running from my own guilt. I don't face a challenge head on, I just run. Even my semblance is proof of me constantly running away. I wanted to be a noble hero like Jubei or Hakumen, but I'm nowhere close to being like them." Blake lamented to her friends
"At least you guys have something that drives you guys. I've always went with the flow, but I've always craved the adventure. Not knowing what tomorrow will bring, while always being on an adventure. A while ago, Ragna told me what his training was like. Always traveling and living in the moment with the next adventure waiting the next day. That's the kind of life I want. Being a Huntress just happens to line up with that." Yang explained to the girls before she continued
"Ruby always wanted to be a Huntress, being the hero who would help people asking for nothing in return. The moment she knew she could fight, she knew what she wanted to be." Yang told the girls while looking at Ruby whose still keeping watch
"She's just a kid, she doesn't understand the hard realities of being a Huntress." Blake told Yang
"What stopped us from wanting to become Huntresses? The only difference is two years, but we made the decision to join the Academies. I can't speak for Amane or Tao, but we all made the decision to train so we can better help people. We can have all the reasons in the world, but this is still a job to protect people. If we can't understand that, then we shouldn't be in the Academies at all." Bullet told the girls while listening
"Your right Bullet, this is still a job to protect people. What we want doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. The bitter reality is that we can't always get what we want. But what we need to do is make the safety of the people our top priority." Weiss said to the girls causing Dr. Oobleck to smile unbeknownst to them
"Speaking of hard realities, are any of you prepared for the hardest reality of being a Huntress?" Bullet asked
"What do you mean?" Yang asked in a curious tone
"We're trained to protect people, but there will come a time when we have fight other people during a mission. Whether they are human or Faunus, doesn't matter. So are any of you prepared to kill someone?" Bullet asked the girls causing them to have a silent thought
"I never really thought about it. We were never put in that situation, but are we really prepared to end a life?" Blake asked causing the question to linger for a bit before all of them went to sleep
(Beacon Hallway)
After learning what he learned in the vault, Ragna was walking to his dorm room with Jin behind him. Ragna was right in that the Headmaster was hiding something. But he didn't think it was this big or dangerous. The Headmaster was hiding someone with immense power beneath the school and knows that the people who are after her for her power will target the school. To an extent, Ragna understood the need for the secrecy. Since he knows full well that people will go for their lust for power. What angered Ragna is that fact that Ozpin is carelessly putting the inexperience students on the front lines if something were to happen. From Ragna's time in Beacon, he sees that a lot of the students has a lot to learn in terms of skill and experience. If something major were to happen, then Ragna is certain that a good number of the students wouldn't be ready for it.
Though Ragna did find himself furious with the Headmaster, he did learn a few things. He was right in his suspicions about the General and he has a good idea of what Cinder is after. Ragna suspects that there is more to the situation. But until Ragna learns more, he is still unable to do anything. Since he still has no proof that Cinder is up to anything. Which means keeping people in the dark, is going to last longer.
"That bastard! I can't believe that he's doing this!" Ragna said in a furious tone
"Calm down Ragna. Its obvious that your upset, but being angry and attacking the Headmaster isn't going to accomplish a thing." Jin said trying to calm Ragna down
"Then what am I supposed to do Jin! Someone is making a plan for Beacon and a lot of people are going to get caught in the crossfire. In case you've forgotten that includes Celica and Saya, how can I calm down after knowing that?" Ragna asked Jin
"Simple, if you let your anger control you. Then you'll end up putting them in even greater danger. You need to be in a frame of mind where you can think clearly. I know how you feel, but anger won't accomplish anything." Jin told Ragna in a calm tone
"So what am I supposed to do now. We need absolute proof that the person is up to something and right now I don't have it." Ragna told Jin
"Your right, making an arrest on the grounds of suspicion without proof won't do any good but waste time. Remember, you still haven't told me who the person is nor did you show me proof that they are in danger. I'm helping you out of faith, but if you tell the officials of your suspicions what do you think will happen?" Jin asked Ragna while giving him a thoughtful gaze.
"Fine I get it, but what do we do now?" Ragna said in frustration
"I hate to say it, but for now we maintain a wait and see approach. The threat knows that your onto them. Which no doubt provoked them into threatening Celica and Saya. However, they must also suspect that you'll be keeping an eye on them. The best thing you can do for now is to wait for them to make a move. Once they do, you'll need to be ready to act." Jin briefly explained to Ragna
"So until then we do nothing?' Ragna asked in an tone that is mixed with irritation and impatience
"Unless you know something that can help then yes. Otherwise be on guard and don't do anything that will paint an even bigger target on your back." Jin told Ragna
"Tch . . . fine, I hate to say it but your right. Let's get back to the dorm room. If Noel and Makoto wake up and see we're not there. Then it'll make them ask a lot of questions which neither of us can answer." Ragna said before him and Jin walked further into the hallway. As Ragna was walking, he started thinking about the things that could've been. Ragna thought about how things would have turned out if they didn't have bad blood between them. Ragna didn't want to admit it, but he saw that Jin trusted him with what he suspected and it led to the discovery. After thinking for a moment, Ragna decided to extend more of his trust and make an effort to try to mend things.
"Cinder." Ragna said quickly getting Jin's attention
"What did you say?" Jin asked Ragna
"The transfer students that came to Beacon. I met one of them and her name is Cinder. Don't trust that bitch under any circumstances." Ragna told Jin in a low tone
"She's the one who threatened Celica and Saya?" Jin asked
"Yes, she's also the one who was in the CCT Tower on the night of the dance. She gave me that threat when I confronted her." Ragna told Jin
"I see, since you don't have anything that connects her to the strange string of activities. Telling the Headmaster or the General won't do any good without proof. Also if you do so, Celica and Saya are as good as dead. It's obvious that she had help, but the question now is who helped her?" Jin said to Ragna
"Exactly, if I tell the others, they might do something reckless and it'll make the problem worse." Ragna told Jin
"Since she dropped the names of the people we care about. It's entirely possible that she can do the same thing to other people. Not to mention we still have no proof or evidence. There's even a good chance that she could be immensely powerful. From what Professor Ozpin told us and what we know. It seems like Cinder is the person who attacked the Maiden Amber and has half of her power. But without sufficient proof we can't do anything. Not to mention if we handle this poorly, a lot of people will be killed in retaliation. I'm starting to see why you needed to keep it a secret." Jin briefly summarized what he now learned
"I hate to ask, but you can't tell anyone. As you said, without proof accusing her won't accomplish anything. It also doesn't help that they might not be strong enough to deal with her. Or do I need to remind you of what happened during our investigation?" Ragna said causing the brothers to remember the fight against Azrael
"I understand brother, its all the more reason we need to be on guard and prepared for when she slips up." Jin said to Ragna with him agreeing before they went back to their dorm room
(The Abandoned Building)
The training with Baiken took longer than Bang anticipated and he's greatly tired. On one hand, he's glad that he made so much progress with getting stronger. He even feels his aura getting stronger as well. But on the other hand, the intense training was more than what Bang anticipated. Though he's prepared to see it through, since he's aware of the saying no pain no gain. As Bang and Baiken was getting inside, they noticed Ruby leaving the building and going off somewhere chasing Zwei.
"Huh, I wonder what Ruby is doing?" Bang asked himself thinking out loud
"It must be important if she's leaving her watch post. Go catch up to her and see what's going on. I'll keep watch here and make sure everything is secured." Baiken told Bang giving him permission to go on ahead.
(The Streets of the Southeast Area of Vale)
It didn't take long for Bang to able to catch up to Ruby. When he did, he saw Rbuy chasing Zwei and was slightly confused as to why. After a few more seconds have passed, the reason was revealed and Zwei was using the bathroom.
"Zwei, this is a wasteland you could have done that anywhere." Ruby said in a lightly scolding tone
"Maybe he was being considerate." Bang said which surprised Ruby causing her to quickly turn around. When Ruby saw that it was Bang, she lightly punched him.
"Don't do that Bang, you almost scared me." Ruby said
"I'm sorry Ruby, I saw you chasing Zwei and I was concerned." Bang told Ruby
"Well its alright, lets get back and get some . . . ." Ruby said before they heard some voices causing the both of them to hide while holding Zwei. After they hid, they saw a couple of White Fang members walking while armed with an assault rifle.
"I thought I heard something." One of the patrol guards said
"It was probably nothing, lets just finish patrol and get back to base. This area always did give me the creeps." The other guard patrol said before the both of them left. After they left, Bang and Ruby looked at each other and nodded in agreement before they left to follow them. After a few minutes, they noticed the White Fang members walk further inside
"Hey Bang, did they go inside?" Ruby asked in a low tone. Before Bang answered, the sound of doors being closed could be heard.
"They went inside Ruby." Bang answered in a low tone as well
"This is it, let's call our friends and deal with this." Ruby said before she used her Scroll to call her team. Only for the call to fail to get through due to low signal.
"Crud, the signal's too low. I can't get through" Ruby said in a frustrated tone
"Me neither, let's go and get them." Bang said before they proceeded to return to the campsite. Before they went to far, the ground beneath the two began to break apart and before they realized it, the were falling. Using a good deal of her strength, Ruby was able to throw Zwei to the surface before he completely fell along with Ruby and Bang into the newly made hole.
(The Underground Area)
"Ruby, are you alright?" Bang said trying to wake up Ruby in a concerned tone
"Ugh, I'm fine just a little sore all over." Ruby said as she was recovering. After the both of them fully recovered from the fall. The two of them looked around and noticed an underground city. The scale of the underground city amazed the two, but they couldn't stay long and marvel at the sights due to their current predicament.
"I don't see an exit anywhere and I don't have my weapon. What do you suggest we do?" Ruby asked Bang
"Baiken is keeping watch and if we're gone for too long she'll notice something is wrong. We can look for an exit or we can see if we can learn something. Personally, I recommend we explore because if we do that. We'll either find an exit or learn something of importance. How skilled are you in hand to hand combat Ruby?" Bang asked Ruby causing her to give him a nervous look
"Umm, I'm not too confident in it to be honest." Ruby answered in a nervous and honest tone
"Well, just watch my back and keep on a lookout for that exit." Bang said with Ruby agreeing
"Hey, what are you two doing here?" One of the Patrolmen asked after seeing Ruby and Bang. Before they could act, Bang quickly ran to both of the guards and gave them a quick series of jabs. The attack proved successful as it knocked them both out before they could do anything.
"Good job, now let's go." Ruby said with Bang following her. As the two were walking, they made sure to stay hidden by hiding behind cover and not making noise. As they were sneaking around, they noticed that the White Fang were getting ready by storing a variety of weapons and dust. As the two were still sneaking round, they weren't any closer to finding an exit, but they did see that that the underground train has a lot of significance
"These guys look like their getting ready for something big." Ruby commented in a low tone
"Your right, but what could require so much dust and weapons?" Bang asked while looking at the White Fang. After a few seconds, Bang felt a tug on his shirt.
"Yes Ruby?" Bang asked after feeling the tug
"I didn't say anything." Ruby responded but slightly confused
"But you tugged on my shirt just now." Bang told Ruby
"I didn't, both of my hands are on this wall." Ruby said in a low tone while quickly showing her hands
"Wait, if you didn't tug on it then . . . ." Bang said causing both him and Ruby to turn around. After they turned, they saw a smirking Neo looking at the both of them.
"Uh Oh." Bang said before Neo kicked them both across the face knocking them both out
(The Campsite)
Baiken has spent a good deal of time waiting for Bang to come back with Ruby. What's bothering her isn't the fact that Baiken hasn't gotten any sleep. Since Baiken has been without sleep before. What's bothering her is that Bang hasn't gotten back yet and too much time has passed without so much as call on her scroll. From Baiken's years of being a Huntress, this is not a good sign.
"Something's not right, it might be me being paranoid. But they should have gotten back by now." Baiken thought to herself while looking around. After a few minutes have passed, Baiken heard a bark which has gotten more of her attention. When Baiken looked at the source of the noise, she saw Zwei and he was barking loudly. Looking at the dog further, Baiken noticed that Zwei looked slightly panicked and seeing that Zwei is out of breath confirmed her suspicions.
"EVERYONE GET UP!" Baiken yelled waking everyone up
"Did something happen?" Weiss asked as she was getting up and looking around. It didn't take her long to see that Ruby is gone
"Where's Ruby?" Yang asked in a slightly concerned tone
"I don't see Bang either." Bullet said after she looked around
"Ruby left following the dog. Bang went after her to see if she was alright, but they haven't gotten back yet which isn't a good sign." Baiken briefly explained
"It appears that the two fellow team leaders are in a situation that is likely not favorable. We must make haste and ensure their safety or else their fates will be a most dire one." Dr. Oobleck said before he quickly rushed out of the building with everyone else following
(The Underground Area)
After getting knocked out by Neo, Ruby and Bang regained consciousness around the same time. When they looked around, they saw a lot of the White Fang members loading up the train. Though they didn't get a good look, they suspect that the contents are of great importance. After a few minutes, the both of them were stopped near one of the train carts. A brief second have passed, and Roman jumped out of the train cart and noticed Ruby and Bang.
"Well if it isn't Little Red, I see that you're not with Big Red. So that makes today a bit more tolerable for me. I had a feeling that someone would make their way here. But never in my wildest dreams did I think it would be you." Roman said before he turned to Bang
"Oh and what do we have here. If it isn't the protector to Human and Faunus, Bang Shishigami. You know I've gotten some heat from what you did the last time we met. But it seems you've come back to me in a sense of irony." Roman told Bang in a mocking tone
"We have something else of theirs." One of the White Fang members said while presenting Bang's giant nail
"What do you think your doing Roman?" Ruby asked
"Why we're just getting ready to move. You see, we've prepared a special little surprise for Vale and the timing just has to be perfect." Roman told Ruby maintaining his mocking tone from earlier
"Do not feel too confident Roman, whatever evil your planning will be stopped." Bang said as he was struggling to get freed.
"I wouldn't try anything if I were you musclehead. Unless your friend can take a direct explosive shot." Roman said as he was pointing his gun at Ruby. Though in a sense of ironic timing, explosions could be heard from a distance. While everyone was briefly distracted, Ruby stepped on the foot of the people holding her and was able to get freed. Bang on the other used his semblance and was able to push the White Fang members away with a good deal of strength. After the both of them were freed, they ran to where the explosion was but not before Bang grabbed his giant nail.
"Dang it I am not in the mood for this today. Start the train, its almost time for our surprise. As for the rest of you, deal with them." Roman commanded with the White Fang doing as their told
"I wonder what's causing the explosions?" Bang asked Ruby while running beside her
"I don't care, as long it gets us away from them." Ruby said while the both of them were running. Before they went too far, they saw more White Fang members running. But when they looked closer. The members were running away from something and upon a closer look. The both of them saw that the White Fang members were running away from their teams and Baiken and Dr. Oobleck
"It's our teams!" Ruby said before she used her semblance to catch up to her friends with Bang doing the same
"Ruby, I'm glad to see that your OK." Yang said in a happy tone before giving her back Crescent Rose
"Bang, looks like your holding up well." Bullet told Bang in a satisfied tone while giving him a quick light jab on the arm
"This is where the White Fang members were hiding at. Alright everyone, whatever they were planning needs to be put to a stop." Baiken told everyone
"It's going to be hard to do something with so many White Fang members out there." Blake commented with everyone agreeing in silence
"Give me a second." Baiken said before she used her semblance to look through the walls and noticed the White Fang lining up while approaching them. After seeing the White Fang members, Baiken closed her eye and started generating her aura. After a quick second have passed, Baiken quickly drew her sword and sent a powerful slash through the building. The slash attack also managed to hit the White Fang and it caused a good number of them to be knocked back. This feat of power greatly impressed the students. But before they were awestruck for too long, Baiken spoke up.
"Let's go!" Baiken yelled causing all of them to get going.
Before all of them got too close to the train. Several members of the White Fang lined up and proceeded to fire their assault rifles at them. Baiken took the lead and used her skills with her katana to deflect the bullets. As she was deflecting the bullets, Baiken continued to pursue Roman along with Dr. Oobleck and the two teams. When Baiken got close, she quickly slashed at each of the members of the White Fang with precision and speed. The White Fang soldiers quickly fell to Baiken's attacks and before long, they tried to run. Seeing what they were doing, Baiken fired at the White Fang soldiers with her rifle arm and was able to hit each of them.
After Baiken hit the White Fang members, she resumed the pursuit along with the others. Before long some of the White Fang soldiers showed up and tried to attack the two teams. Seeing the White Fang soldiers, Amane used his sash to grab the assault rifle of one of the nearby soldiers and smacked around some of the surrounding members of the White Fang. As for the ones that were left over, Weiss used her semblance to strengthen the dust in her weapon and made short of the surrounding White Fang soldiers.
The group continued to press forward, and noticed a good number of the White Fang soldiers standing in their way. Using her speed, Blake quickly dashed past the White Fang soldiers and slashed at all of them dealing with them quickly. One of the White Fang soldiers tried to attack Blake when she wasn't looking. But before he could, Yang blasted him with a shot from one of her gauntlets. After a few minutes, everyone was able to get on the train. Almost immediately after they did so, the train started to move.
"It appears that Torchwick is planning something sinister with this train. So that leaves us with only one option." Dr. Oobleck said before Ruby finishes
"We're stopping this train." Ruby said before all of them proceeded
As everyone was going, they all noticed the train cart being detached. After the train cart was detached, all of them moved to the next cart quickly before it was out of reach. Once all of them made it, the detached cart exploded and shortly after that a large number of Grimm started to pour in.
"So that's what his plan is. In the past these tunnels were filled with Grimm. But these tunnels also lead to Vale." Dr. Oobleck told everyone
"Um . . . what does that mean meow?" Tao asked in a confused tone
"Roman is trying to lead the Grimm into Vale by a large number." Amane quickly explained to Tao
"We need to hurry then, if the Grimm makes it to Vale like this. Then the results will be catastrophic for everyone." Baiken said before all of them continued forward.
"I'll try to call Jaune." Ruby said while dialing the number. When she tried she could get a signal through but only for a brief moment. After Ruby tried to call for help, a shot whizzed pass her getting Ruby's attention back to the situation at hand. Seeing the White Fang members in front of her, Ruby used her scythe and fired behind her propelling her to go past the White Fang soldiers while slashing at them. After the nearby White Fang soldiers were dealt with. Another train cart was detached and everyone on it proceeded to jump the next cart. After the did so the detached cart exploded before and more Grimm started to appear. A brief second later, several mechs piloted by the members of the White Fang started to appear. One of the mechs started running towards the group. Before it got too close, Baiken jumped up and slashed at the mech at an intense speed.
"We're already crunched for time, these damn mechs are just making things harder." Bullet said in a frustrated tone
"Then we need to split up. Some of you will come with me to stop this train. While the rest will stay behind and keep those mechs off of us." Dr. Oobleck said before he went ahead with Zwei
"Bullet, Amane, you two go on with team RWBY and deal with those bombs. Me, Tao, and Bang will stay behind and do what we can with the mechs. Once the numbers start dying down, we'll catch up to all of you." Baiken said before she quickly slashed at the nearby mech with the students doing what she said. After everyone was split up, they all focused on their respective tasks. After getting further ahead, Yang, Bullet, Amane, Weiss, and Blake dropped down to the bottom and entered one of the train carts.
"Alright everyone, this is what we all trained for." Yang said to everyone before they went further inside. Before they all went too far in, Neo appeared, and her stance made it clear that she intends to stand in their way.
"I got her, just go." Yang said before she approached her. Before she got too close, Bullet grabbed her shoulder and started to speak
"She's a lot stronger than she looks. I know this from personal experience the last time I fought her. We'll fight her together." Bullet said to Yang
"I'm good with that Bullet." Yang said before they bumped fists with each other and focused on Neo. The other students that were with her quickly ran past her at great speed. Neo tried to stop the small group, but both Yang and Bullet tried to attack Neo and she ended up dodging the attacks. After Neo dodged, the other students ran past her except for Yang and Bullet who took up a fighting stance ready to fight against her.
Bullet was the first to make an attack against Neo. By running towards her and throwing a punch when she got close. Seeing the punch coming, Neo leaned to the side and smacked Bullet with her umbrella staggering her. Yang made the move to fire several blasts at Neo while her attention was on Bullet. Unfortunately, Neo sense the blast and jumped out of the way. The blast that Yang fired hit Bullet instead and it staggered her further.
Before Yang could do anything, Neo jumped in front of Yang and proceeded to rapidly kick her. The kicks staggered Yang, but she was able to hold her ground. When Neo made an attempt to follow up with another strong kick. Yang was able to quickly grab Neo's leg before Neo could do anything. Seeing Neo still and trapped in one place, Bullet decided to throw another punch but at a greater speed. Unfortunately, Neo saw the punch coming again and decided to flip her body upwards. As a result, Bullet's rocket propelled punch unintentionally hit Yang instead of the intended target. Bullet's punch knocked Yang down and before Bullet could help the blonde up. Neo proceeded to flip kick Bullet, and knocked her to the side. Before Neo could do anything further, Yang was able to blast Neo with her gauntlet as she was getting up. Unfortunately for Yang, Neo blocked the gauntlet blast with her umbrella. After blocking the gauntlet blast, Neo sat on a nearby crate, smiling at the two brawlers as if to mock them.
"Your right, she is stronger than she looks. But how is it that she's beating us? Is it because we keep getting in each other's way?" Yang asked Bullet while looking at Neo
"Our fighting styles are too similar, and that girl is too agile. If we want to hurt her, we need to change tactics. I have more close-range options, so I'll fight her in close range. You'll fire at her at a distance. Don't hesitate to fire, even if there's a chance that you can hit me." Bullet said with Yang nodding in agreement before she ran toward Neo.
When Bullet got close, she threw a strong punch aiming for Neo's face. Using her reaction speed, Neo deflected the punch with her umbrella and flipped over Bullet while kicking her in the process. Yang fired several shots at the agile girl, but Neo used her umbrella to block the shots that were fired. It took a second for Bullet to recover, and after she did so she went after Neo again. Reacting quickly, Neo jump kicked Bullet and launched herself towards Yang. Seeing Neo coming, Yang waited for Neo to get close so she could attack. Once Neo got close, Yang threw several punching jabs at Neo with the intend to finish her off quickly. The attack proved to not be effective, because Neo repeated her earlier action with Bullet and deflected each of the punches. After the punches were deflected, Neo kicked Yang across the face knocking her out. Seeing Bullet charge towards her at the corner of her eye. Neo quickly flipped kicked her before she got close. The flip kick was strong enough to knock out Bullet. After seeing both brawlers knocked out, Neo dusted her hands as a gesture of confidence.
(Meanwhile)
Amane, Weiss, and Blake have been running to stop the bombs. They were nervous about leaving Yang and Bullet to deal with Neo, but the didn't show it. The reason they were nervous isn't because of their teamwork capabilities. But its that Neo is a lot stronger than she looks and hope that they will be fine. Though given the current set of circumstances, concern was something they couldn't afford. As they three of them were running, they were able to stop a couple of bombs but knew they had more to do. Eventually they came across a train cart that had only one person in it. The person is a significant member of the White Fang who is the Lieutenant and is wielding a chainsaw.
"Go, I can handle him." Weiss said with Amane and Blake doing as she said. Before Blake went too far. Weiss tossed some dust to Blake before she caught it.
"Those can be useful, now go." Weiss said before Blake and Amane left. Though before they left the cart, Amane stopped and turned around.
"Blake, I have a bad feeling about this. I'll stay and help Weiss deal with the White Fang soldier and help speed things along. You go on ahead and deal with Roman." Amane told Blake
"Got it, be careful." Blake said before she went ahead and Amane approached the White Fang member.
"I told you to go ahead." Weiss told Amane in a frustrated tone
"You did, but I wanted to help speed this along." Amane said to Blake in a calm tone
"Hehehehe looks like I get to kill a Schnee, and her bodyguard too." The Lieutenant said makng his killing intent clear before he revved up his chainsaw
"Won't do you any good to underestimate us." Amane said before he launched his sash and grabbed the Lieutenant's leg.
After Amane grabbed the Lieutenant leg with his semblance. He pulled and came close to tripping up the Lieutenant. Unfortunately, the Lieutenant proved to be stronger than Amane originally anticipated and he was able to regain his footing. This brief moment gave Weiss an attack opening and she decided to make use of it. Weiss used her glyph to give herself a speed boost and charged to the Lieutenant. Once she got close, Weiss furiously slashed at him at great speed. The Lieutenant decided to act on the defensive and blocked Weiss's attacks with his chainsaw. After Weiss's attacks were blocked, The Lieutenant was able to grab Weiss by her neck since she was close to him.
Before the Lieutenant could do anything. Amane attacked his arm with his sash. The strength of the attack was strong enough to cause the Lieutenant to let go of Weiss. After Weiss was let go, she was able to slash at the Lieutenant with a great deal of force and was able to knock him back. After knocking the Lieutenant back, Weiss used the dust in her sword and combined it with her glyphs to freeze the Lieutenant.
"Thanks for your help Amane, I have to admit you were pretty helpful." Weiss said giving Amane praise. Before the two went on ahead, Weiss rubbed her neck feeling slightly sore.
"Looks like his grip on your neck was strong, let me take care of that." Amane said before he wrapped his aura sash around Weiss's neck. After a few seconds, the injury was gone
"Wow, you can heal people with your semblance?" Weiss asked in a curious and amazed tone
"Yep, though I don't use it often." Amane said after he healed Weiss and went on ahead with her towards Blake.
(Back to Yang and Neo)
After Neo thoroughly beaten both Bullet and Yang, she had a satisfying look on her face. When she took a quick look at the girls, she commended them for having the confidence to fight her. But had no problem making it clear that both girls are out of their league. Once Neo's brief though was finished, she drew a sword from her umbrella and proceeded to walk towards Yang since she's closest. Before Neo got too close though, a portal opened up which has gotten Neo's attention. Shortly after the portal opened up, a women wearing red and black clothes stepped out of the portal. What made the woman stand out further is her mask that is similar to a Grimm.
When Neo saw the woman, Neo had a look of fear on her face as if she knew who the woman was. Once a quick second passed, the mystery woman dashed at Neo at a blinding speed and slashed at her. Using her reflexes, Neo was able to block the attack and after doing so she quickly leaped back. The mystery woman sheathed her sword for a quick second, then drew it once again. Seeing that she was outmatched, Neo decided to leap back and used her semblance to disappear. After Neo disappeared, Raven looked at the two young women but focused on Yang for a bit. After Raven looked at her daughter, she opened up a portal and left as quickly and mysteriously as she arrived. Before she left, Yang struggled to wake up. Her eyesight was blurry, but she was able to make out the silhouette of the figure before she left.
"Mom?" Yang said as she was struggling to get up before Bullet did so as well
"What happened?" Bullet asked while getting up
"I don't know, but that girl is gone. Let's go catch up to the others." Yang said before her and Bullet went on ahead
(The front cart of the train)
Blake was able to deal with Roman easily thanks to a combination of her skills and the dust that Weiss gave her. After dealing a strong attack to Roman, Blake has the Crime Boss at her mercy. As she stood above him with her sword pointing at his face, the fact that Roman is using the White Fang and by extension the Faunus fills her with a great deal of rage. Blake has done the work of a Huntress and is now in a position to deal with a major problem permanently.
"Well looks like you got me, you know I always had a feeling that you were feisty." Roman said before he tried to get up
"Stay right there Roman! Now tell me, how do I stop this train!" Blake demanded in a tone full of anger causing Roman to laugh
"Hahahahahaha, wow I knew you kids were the demanding type. But I never expected you to go through with the cliché demands. I feel like I'm in one of those action dramas." Roman said in an amused tone to Blake angering her further
"Tell me what I want to know Roman!" Blake demanded once more
"You don't get it do you, I had a hunch you guys were coming. So I decided to make some alterations to this train just for you guys. The truth is, there is no way to stop this train. So we're all going to get the first hand experience at being crash test dummies." Roman told Blake in a smug and confident tone
"Your lying, if this train crashes the Grimm will invade and people will get hurt." Blake told Roman in a furious tone
"Oh come on, you should be thanking me. Vale's been getting high and mighty and they needed a good kick of reality. I saw you at the rally, we want the same thing. I chose the path of the amazing Crime Boss and you chose the path of the Huntress. But wait, you used to be the member of the White Fang right? so why deny who you really are, which is just like me? The partnership with the White Fang is working, because we admit that we're similar in many ways. So why are you fighting yourself when you could embrace what you are? Or do you honestly think that a bow and a few good deeds will make people forget what you are and the things that you've done?" Roman explained to Blake maintaining his confidence.
Each word that Roman said angered and hurt Blake immensely. The likely reason is that there is a part of her that admits that Roman is right. Blake stood by the White Fang and even defended them at every chance. Which continued even after she left them. Blake sees a lot of the White Fang members as misguided, but as long a people like Roman are around. The Faunus who joins the White Fang will continue to be misguided. Making matters worse, is that the current White Fang's actions has a problem that Blake herself is finally understanding. What will happen when everything is finished, will the White Fang be forgiven for all the bloodshed they've caused to both the guilty and the innocent? As well as all the lives that they've ruined due to their violent and terroristic ways. She realizes that they need to take responsibility and stop the cycle of violence and hatred before it's too late.
"Your wrong about me Roman." Blake said before hitting Roman in the head knocking him out. After a second passed, she heard clapping right behind her and when she turned. She saw Amane clapping at her with Weiss behind her
"Well done Blake." Amane said praising Blake
"You two were watching the whole thing?" Blake said in a surprised tone
"I wanted to step in, but Amane stopped me." Weiss said in a apologetic tone
"By the time we arrived you already had him pinned. So we watched the show and I am impressed Blake." Amane said to Blake in a tone of praise before him and Weiss entered. Before they stepped to the window, Amane spoke to Blake further
"Listen Blake, I heard what you told your friends last night. Every mission or journey has a common starting point. That starting point is a single step and its important that you took it. Atoning the many years of wrong from both sides is not going to be easy and there's no doubt it'll take a long time. But what matters is that your taking the first step and will continue to do so." Amane told Blake in a tone of praise
"Thank you Amane." Blake responded with a smile
"Guys, I've looked around the control panel. But I'm not seeing a way to stop the train." Weiss said getting both Amane and Blake's attention. When the two went to the control panel. They say that Roman was telling the truth and that there is no way to stop the train.
"What about the bombs, can they be disarmed at least?" Blake asked in a concerned tone
"I don't see the bombs, there probably on the outside of this cart. I don't think my ice dust and semblance will be enough to stop the bombs." Weiss said to the two causing them to be concerned
"Won't do any good once we crash, let's get to the top of the train and meet up with the others." Blake said to Weiss
"I'll take Roman with us, we still have to bring him in so he can answer for all of his crimes." Amane said as he was wrapping Roman in his aura sash before he went to the top of the train with the Weiss and Blake

After Weiss, Blake, and Amane made it to the top of the cart with Roman in tow. They quickly saw that it won't be too long before the train crashes into the main gate. Before the three of them could fully process the situation, Ruby and the rest of the two teams, along with Baiken and Dr. Oobleck made it to where they are at. When Dr. Oobleck saw that Roman was captured, he was proud that they have the infamous crime boss. Unfortunately, it was also clear that they were unable to stop the train.
"Were you able to diffuse the bombs?" Dr. Oobleck asked
"They're all around the front cart. We can't do anything about them." Blake answered the Doctor
"It appears that the bombs will go off the moment this train crashes into the gate. I don't need to tell you guys that the next few moments are going to hurt very badly. Thank goodness for our defensive aura, but it will still hurt a lot." Dr. Oobleck said before they all noticed that they're almost at the main door
"I'll create an ice dome to protect us." Weiss said before she proceeded to use the ice dust combined with her semblance
"Brace for impact everyone!" Baiken yelled before they all braced themselves in Weiss's giant ice dome. Seconds before the train crashed into the main gate and into Vale
(The Central City of Vale)
It was a relatively quiet moment in the Central City. The citizens that lived there were minding their own business and didn't have a care in the world. Though all of that changed in one moment. Within that one moment, a very loud explosion was both heard and seen by a lot of people. After the explosion, the remains of a train had busted through the ground and a lot of people were thrown around the general area. But this time, some of the people that were thrown from the train, had cackling aura indicating that their aura is almost broken. The ones who didn't have cackling aura was struggling to stand up due to their injuries.
Yang, Ruby, Bullet, and Amane were the students who were injured but whose aura wasn't close to breaking. Baiken and Dr. Oobleck were injured as well but it wasn't as bad as they feared. Weiss, Blake, Tao, and Bang were getting close to their limits and had no choice but to take a breather, so they can recover some of their strength and aura. When Ruby looked around at the damage that was caused, she has a concerned look on her face at the people that might've been hurt by what happened. Making matters worse, she is seeing a lot of the Grimm slowly coming into the city. What had gotten Ruby out of her concerned thoughts about the current situation, is the sound of a laughter that is filled with cockiness. From the sound of the laughter, Ruby recognized it as Roman's laugh and was able to quickly find where he is. Using what's left of her strength, Ruby made her way to Roman while armed with Crescent Rose and approached him. When she approached the Crime Boss, Roman's cocky attitude didn't diminish.
"You know little red, ever since I was a little kid, I've always wanted to make an explosive entrance. So I should thank you for making my dream come true." Roman said in a tone mixed with satisfaction and cockiness
"LOOK AT ALL OF THIS TORCHWICK! The people are hurt, and the Grimm are coming because of the destruction you caused. Is this something for you to be proud of!?" Ruby said in a furious tone while point her weapon at Roman
"I'd say . . . yes it is little red, and the best part about this is that this is all on you guys. You see I knew you guys were coming to our humble base. So it wasn't really that hard to be prepared for when you guys come crashing our homes. You and your band of misfits and two professionals were sent to stop me and you all failed. That fact will haunt the ten of you for years because you failed to stop this destruction. So technically speaking, this is also your fault as it is mine." Roman said in a cocky tone
"You monster." Ruby said with a great deal of rage while trying to stay under control
"Oh, and do you wanna know the best part about this. I have a special surprise coming and it should get here right about . . . ." Roman said before the ground trembled in Vale's Central City with everyone feeling it. Especially Ruby who had to use her weapon to help maintain balance
"Yep that should be the surprise. Have fun." Roman said in a cocky attitude before the trembling increased. The trembling lasted for a few more seconds until it suddenly increased even more.
After that, near the train the ground stated to rise up as if something was coming. After another second, a creature rose up from the ground and it was massive in size. Once it was done rising up, Ruby was intimidated by both the size and scale of the beast. Ruby saw that it was similar to the Grimm but at the same time it was different. It was a giant snake that is heavily armored in what appears to be bones. But what made it stand out is that the color of the large serpent was malachite green, and it looked blind. Once the large serpent rose up, it made a loud and blood curdling roar. The Grimm that were nearby heard the roar and what happened next surprised everyone. The Grimm that heard the roar started to have green markings all over its body and they felt a lot more powerful. What everyone is seeing is the regular Grimm being turned into the Abnormal Grimm. When Ruby and everyone else saw this they knew that the real struggle, the real battle was about to begin.
(Ozpin's Office)
The Headmaster was doing a variety of work in his office, until he received an emergency notice on his scroll. When Ozpin opened the scroll, he saw an emergency news report about the Grimm coming into the Central City of Vale. To make things worse, the Headmaster saw the footage of the giant serpent that rose through the ground and was turning the regular Grimm into the Abnormal Grimm. The sight of the serpent had visibly shaken the Ozpin and is seeing the very thing that Jubei warned him about.
"The Malachite Serpent, it appears that this was a part of your plan Terumi." Professor Ozpin said before he decided to make a couple of calls on his Scroll

The Malachite Serpent was given a brief mentioned back in chapter six. There is a lot more to the Malachite Serpent, but those details will be revealed over time in this story.
Also, the volume 2 portion of this story is almost finished and before this story gets to volume 3. There is still a side chapter that will be completed.
One more thing, at some point this story will deviate a bit more from canon than it already did. Several portions of the deviation will be seen in volume 3 so I wanted to give a heads up about it. I have an idea on when a major deviation will occur, but this story isn't close to that point yet.
