Phil's idea was a bit risky, we didn't have any other ideas though so it was the only thing we could do. Dan apparently got Maddie's number at some point last night so he called her to set up a 'date'. According to Dalton Maddie could publish her articles without having them approved by an editor because the magazine was run by her aunt. So Phil's idea was that Dan uses her computer to print a retraction seen as it was a daily magazine.
By twelve o'clock a very reluctant Dan was leaving the hotel room in his best black jeans and his moth button down shirt on his way to pick Maddie up for lunch. The rest of us sat anxiously in the lounge awaiting his return.
Dan's point of viewI knocked on Maddie's door and waited for an answer. I really didn't want to be here, truth is I remember exactly what happened last night and I really wish Amy had because then I'd know if she wanted to try to kiss me, if it was in the moment or she was already drunk. As for Maddie she seemed like a nice person when I first met her. I guess first impressions can be very wrong. I really should have been able to tell when she wouldn't stop trying to kiss me… My palms start to sweat as I heard heels clicking towards the door.
"Hey Dan" she said wrapping her arms around my neck making me flinch. She drew back and pouted "did you just flinch when I touched you?" she looked about ready to cry, what have I gotten myself into?
"No, no it's not you" I say trying to console her" I have this thing where I hate people touching my neck, seriously if anyone does it I get freaked out" her face brightens slightly and she moves aside, allowing me into her house.
"I will be five minutes, I'm not quite ready yet" she turned and headed towards what I assume was her room.
"Hey Maddie? Can I borrow your laptop I need to check an e-mail and I can't get internet on my phone over here" I call after her.
"Sure, the password is starshine374 all little letters" I walked over to her laptop and logged in, quickly finding the folder I was looking for. It had all her articles in, including one with today's date. I opened it and found it was yet another story about how crappy a person Amy supposedly is. I rapidly changed it to say that she didn't mean the stuff in the article before, that it was just a bruised ego and admitting that she was Maddison. I saved then switched onto my e-mail account jut as Maddie came out of her room.
"Right, I just have to send some stuff to my aunt and I will be right with you" she drags the laptop to her and sends what she thinks is her article. "Okay then, I'm really excited for this" she giggles as she grabs her jacket and drags me with her.
A/N I actually really like Maddie it is literally just for this story please don't kill me if you hate how she is portrayed.
