I wrote most of this chapter last night at about 11:30 pm PST. :D
Like I mentioned last chapter, these next two POV's are unexpected... but it's what you guys like... writers that usually do unexpected things create suspense...
And I'm gonna ramble on sooner or later! Enjoy the chappie!
Herobrine POV
Notch told me to stay in the Aether during the chaos. Being the younger brother I was, I didn't want to deal with his immense power, and the reason for that being Steve. Steve at this point was the only being that could destroy us both. I didn't want to take the risk of fighting with Notch and having Steve kill us at our weakest moment. And guess the only dimension he couldn't enter… the Aether. Steve had the Jewel of Notch, and he would be able to teleport through my brother's portal… but from the information that Notch's assistants had told us, he did not have the will to find us. Although Notch reminded me to relax, I knew I couldn't.
Then came the fact that my eldest daughter, Cassandra, hated Sky. I realized that she had her reasons, but it was Ashley at fault for making her own decisions. I strayed away from the thought of one of my daughters leaving the Nether, but as I watched on her from a distance, I figured that she did well. A bit later, she went missing from the Sky Army, and I begun to worry yet again. That was the point when Notch told me of the descendant's return.
I feared for my children. After I heard of Mitchie's return, I knew Cassandra, Ashley, and Fia would be in danger. Not only for the fact that Mitchie and her younger brother, Riegg, were both very powerful… and god-like I would say… but also that my children had once trusted them. There was nothing I could do to help but stand and wait.
I feared as well for Notch's children. Not hearing from one of his sons, Jordan, for a long time, and his only daughter, Emma, running off to find that same son. Then there was the sad truth that Emma and another boy, her companion, had their powers taken away, leaving Emma in a deep coma. As of the boy, I didn't know. No one would say.
Notch knocked on the door of my room in his Aether castle. I glanced up, expecting a warming smile from my brother. Instead, I found his eyes dull and lips frowning.
"There's someone here, and he requests both of us. Come along, Hero," Notch motioned for me to follow him, and I did his bidding. What surprised was not the visitor waiting in the ballroom of the castle, but the name that Notch called me. Hero. No one had called me Hero for years… Not since… I didn't like to think about my past.
Back to the visitor, he sarcastically bowed when Notch and I entered the room, basking in his resemblance to myself. He chuckled.
"Why did you come?" Notch questioned.
"I wanted a proposition. And since we have a past, I know that you'll do anything to appeal to my desires."
"Whatever you ask for?" I asked, "Maybe not."
Notch leaned over and slowly whispered in my ear, "He has both the descendant and the Jewel. We need them back in order to save ourselves."
"But you do realize that if we give Steve anything he wants, he might make this situation worse and not give us back the Jewel. He may keep the descendant. You know he's tricky like that," I replied.
"But the question is… do we trust our own brother?"
As soon as Notch mentioned the word brother, our eyes wandered over to Steve, whose shaggy brown hair almost covered his face. That was one of the only physical differences between Steve and I. He had his hair grown out, while I kept mine short and straight to the point. His eyes also turned black in times of anger while mine permanently stayed white. Maybe that was the reason everyone was more scared of me than him. I looked threatening. And he wasn't alive.
"No," the response slipped through my mouth into Notch's ear. His eyes widened as his focus returned to Steve.
"Steve, I'm sorry… but we can't help you," Notch stated.
Steve maniacally laughed, "We could've been friends, but this is what happens when you don't give people what they want! Because of this, the descendant will be on her knees, begging for her life!" And with that, Steve vanished.
Notch and I gulped.
"It'll be fine," my older brother reassured me, "We only interfere when something big happens."
I not only worried for the descendant, but everyone else who had crossed Steve's path.
Derpollous POV
I knew that the deaths of my best soldiers were connected to the Sky Army.
All of the other groups used to not hate us or love us. Those groups and individuals always thought we were innocent water creatures, swimming around the ocean. They all thought we were harmless.
But then Sky had to come. He found out the plans of the squids, whose main goal was to take over the Overworld. In the process of exterminating the mission, Sky killed my father, Derpollous Senior, a genius who created the Squid Army and led me in his tentacles to succeed his position. Time went on, and I became known as Derpollous, the Squid King.
Years later, I thought I had him. I thought Sky was dead forever. While watching one of my soldiers stabbing him in the back, I barely noticed the figure of a young Minecraftian boy curled up in a corner. Sky was unconscious on the floor, but it wasn't long until some mysterious force made him vanish. The cause of this incident was from either the boy in the corner, or the fact that Sky may have still been alive. From then on, my task was to find Sky and kill him in revenge for my father. Once the former leader disappeared, a new one was instantly put into his place. I begun to worry.
This new Sky got on my nerves. He used the ideas that the other Sky created, but introduced new maneuvers in order to complete them. As much as I wanted to side with this new Sky, I knew I couldn't because of what happened with the previous. He hated me even more than the last. He was obsessed with a mysterious substance called budder, and used the power of friendship to help him. There was also the fact that he killed almost all of my recruits on the first day I met him. Although the Sky Army was largely outnumbered, Sky brought a group of four hundred recruits who fought for him. Forty of their recruits ended up dead, and two million of my squids were eliminated. To me, that was a lot. From that first day, I vowed to avenge my father's death by killing the new Sky. I completely forgot about the old one.
Then I heard about my soldiers. They had kidnapped one Sky Army general in the woods, and out of the blue, a girl and her partner destroyed them. How is that possible? A random girl kill off my soldiers? She must have been from the Sky Army. And that is the reason why I sent three dozen of my recruits to terrorize the recruits and kill the girl at their base.
A knock came from my obsidian-made door. One of my generals peeked his head inside of my office while I was writing a note to the generals of war preparations.
"What is it?" I growled at the squid, placing down my pen on my desk and not lifting my head.
"Sir…" the squid stumbled on his words. I glared up towards him, scorning the title he gave me. The squids squirmed and continued, "Commander Derpollous. We have bad news."
"What type of bad news?"
"The girl was saved by our former hostage… and Sky is trapped in the Nether."
I paused, "Can't you go back?"
The squid shook his head, "Nobody wants to dare fight against them."
"So… you're all a group of wimps," I groaned, "This is brilliant to hear. They're nothing! They have golden swords! We have obsidian!"
"They have eight million recruits, sir…" I scowled, making the squid shiver again, "Co… commander."
"What does it matter? We need to get back at them for ruining our lives!"
"What I don't understand is why we need to."
I chuckled, "It's elementary, my dear Derpston. Sky destroyed our homes. Our peace. Our freedom," I banged one of my tentacles on the desk, "Our children's beliefs of hope! The second amendment of Minecraftia! The Sky Army destroyed our futures!"
"Oh… I get it now."
"Thank you for finally cooperating with me," I growled, annoyingly placing the same tentacle to the top of my face.
"Commander, what do we do now?"
I thought about my general's concern for my ideas, and then I remembered something that I had forgotten about, "Nothing."
Derpston stopped, "Nothing, Commander?"
I nodded, "Absolutely nothing. Steve will destroy the Aether… the Nether… the Overworld… It won't be our job to kill off Sky… and the girl… and the hostage… Steve will do it for us."
"Does that mean we're siding with him?"
"No. Of course not. He's ridiculous… but his plans are genius. Similar to my those of my father."
"May he rest in peace…" Derpston glanced down to the floor in mourning.
"Enough of that, Derpston. Make sure our recruits are training, and don't let anyone leave the Squid dimension, or they'll be sent to me personally."
"Got it, Commander." Derpston acknowledged me with a nod, and closed the door to my office on his way out.
I sat at my desk, praying to my father's soul that Sky would die in the outcome of the return of Steve.
Squids and gods all in the same chapter?! This cannot be happening! Well, guess what, you've officially met raydoesminecraft.
Four more chapters until the finale! I'm getting excited just thinking about it!
Question time! (This is gonna be pretty easy for those that pay attention while reading this chapter.)
What is Derpollous's reason for trying to kill Sky?
;) See you guys in the next chapter!
