Hit Me Baby
"Explain this process to me again," Loki requested, putting clothes into a duffle bag, both of theirs. She only said that they were going to stay in this place for a weekend, nothing more. Alex pretty much ignored him, as she was getting ready for bed. He had done his best to not watch her undress, but he couldn't help the slight drift of his eyes toward her. Part of him wished to go towards her and take her so he would do what he would, but he controlled himself, reminding how clear she made it that night that this should end.
He agreed with her. He had felt the swelling attachment to the mortal deep in his chest and he knew that it could not stay. Whether or not there was a small chance that she did not have to die, he did not want that attachment there. She did not even have to say the words. She adjusted her sports bra, releasing a loud sigh before looking back at him. "I can't explain it. I could only show it. But it's simple math."
Math… something that only seemed natural but really was an instrument that Loki saw was useless in their world. They had mathematics in Asgard, but Loki saw logic and reason, and mathematics did not equate to the magic his world had. Asgardians who wasted their time only used the practice. "You just explained it," Loki mentioned to her, "you could explain it in simpler terms."
She replied, "You don't have to concern yourself with it. I'm only going to teach you the basics. I will do all the work, while you just have to listen to me and look pretty." With that, she smirked before turning away from him. Loki looked away from her, gritting his teeth. When did this school of thought happen? When did she think that she was allowed to make orders while he just had to 'look pretty'? She had it for a while, but Loki did not know when their dynamics changed. But he didn't know if he was truly bothered by it. She stood up as Loki zippered the bag, throwing it carelessly to the ground.
Once he fell to the bed, Alex announced, "I'm going to go wash up. Catch some sleep."
"How far is this place?" He questioned as she retreated towards the bathroom.
She only shrugged, "Not far. It's in the same state and Jersey isn't that big. The only thing is that it's by the water, maybe an hour out."
"Wonderful, I am not confined with you in that awful thing for too long." Alex narrowed her eyes toward him at his snarky remark, but Loki found himself smirking at her as she turned her head away. His eyes looked her over, seeing her bare skin that made his hunger for her almost ache, but he had to silence his thoughts. Swallowing quickly, he turned his head away from her.
She only glanced over at him before stating to him, "Catch some sleep. We're gonna have a long day anyway."
Loki closed his eyes before shutting out the light, muttering mockingly, "You have the reins." She had not heard him as she closed the door, and Loki heard the sound of the sink going. He squinted his eyes open, looking at the door as he pulled the sheet to barely cover half of his torso. What would happen if he would go in the bathroom as he once had done and take her right there? The image of him taking her from behind flooded in his mind, thrusting into her as she bent over the sink, holding herself up as her knees buckled from him. Her moans would encourage him to go further, the quickness of her breath as his thrusts would come quicker and go deeper as she would cry for him.
He would have her press her back against his chest, as he would cup her breasts. Her grinding on top of him, circling herself against the tip of his length, as he'd slow down and allowed her to do with him as she wanted him to do with her. His mouth would make it to her ear, he would kiss its shell and whisper into it what he knew would drive her crazy with desire. Alexandra knew what made him the same way after spending many times with him, how rough he wanted her hips to meet with his, how he enjoyed her pulling and pushing him into her.
He would turn her around, watch the dazed look in her eyes as they both went to undress each other. They would watch each other's movements as they made their way out of the bathroom, discarding their clothes on the way and kissing each other's lips as his hands fell on top of her hips. He would sit himself down on the bed as she sat on top of him, rubbing herself against his hardness as she gently pushed him down against the sheets. Her lips would find the hollow of his throat, and she'd suck on it lightly. His head would fall back, his eyes would slowly close as his hands move on top of her ass as she adjusted herself on top of him. A loud groan would escape his lips as he felt her hand on his cock to slip him inside of her.
He wouldn't aid her, knowing that she knew what made him groan underneath her, as she would move to please herself also. But soon, he would move her so that her breasts rubbed against his, his fingers pressing into her ass, moving her to how he liked it, and soon his hips would move to meet hers. Her mouth would find his jaw, her tongue gliding over it, as she would gasp against it. Then his lips would take hers, claiming them as his for as long as he would have her, kissing them as if he would only have her for an hour more. They would both move slower, taking each moment as precious and something that would not be wasted.
No touch would feel desperate; none would be driven by hunger. He would have already fed into it, selfishly taking her in the first place. Every move that they would make would be in sync, gradually working to both their climaxes. They needed each other like they needed air. Their mouths would not part from each other, he would not go anywhere else with it as she would nibble on his bottom lip, gasping and sighing against him as he would feel her muscles tighten suddenly around him.
He would not pause as she'd reached her climax, aiding her to it and controlling his own as they gradually would grind against each other faster. Once Alex would stop, crying out and showing how he pleased her, he would prompt her so he could slide out and so that she would reward him, but then her hand would show against his chest and she would say 'stay' with a tone that surprised him. He could not be able to refuse her though. It was a luxury that he hadn't taken with her at all, and now having the permission to come and buckle inside of her, he could not say no to it.
His answer would be a tender kiss against her lips, as he would pull out for only a moment to adjust them both onto the bed. She would be lying on top of her back as he would carefully wrap her legs around his waist. He would brush the tip of him, which would feel so warm in his hand, against her skin before rubbing it against her clit. A sigh would escape her, as he would only do this for a moment. He kissed her once again, softly, slipping his tongue inside her mouth and lightly mingling with hers. Loki felt her hand come onto his neck as she picked her head up, deepening the kiss and making him moan. Loki slipped himself inside of her after a moment, her mouth briefly parting from him as she gasped.
Before starting a slow pace, Loki took in being inside of her. He caught her bottom lip, his nose rubbing against hers as he felt her hand faintly drag down his arm. Her neck arched as his mouth trailed down it. He relished in the fact to how she responded to his every move, how she was ready for him to grind into her whether it was in a slow and long way, or a fast movement. He murmured against her, giving her small kisses as his slow and deep thrusts gradually went faster.
Her nails dug into his skin as he brought his mouth to her lips a—.
He only had just realized that his hand was touching himself and that his head was dipped back with his mouth wide open, and he was brought back to reality, hearing the sink still going in the bathroom. Loki swallowed thickly, glancing down at himself before pulling his hand away. He could not wait. He could not sit back while this scene played in his mind, he should be acting it out. He wanted her and he was going to get her. With this resolution in mind, Loki pulled himself out of bed, fully aware of his hardness tightly (uncomfortably, if he might add) enclosed in those infernal boxer briefs that he had on, and made his way toward the bathroom.
Loki went to open the door, to let himself in without warning, but to his annoyance the door was locked. The doorknob immediately went stuck as he turned it. "Alex." He started, knocking on the door. He stifled the groan that wanted to escape. Why must this not work out for him?
But instead of letting him in, he heard the water stop and her tell him, "I'm going to be a bit, Loki. Use the other one." Loki's hand fell from the doorknob as he took a step back, his eyes looking to the door in disbelief. But, then he came to himself. He… he could not do this. His eyes went down to his crotch, which he felt the heat radiating against his briefs, before taking heed of her advice. He would just take care of that himself. It was almost like she knew, or felt that he was coming there for a different reason… she already spent fifteen minutes in the bathroom, what else would she be doing if not avoiding him?
He backed himself away from the bathroom before going to the bedroom door. The other bathroom was not far from the guest room, which was good for him. But as his hand closed around the doorknob and he made to open it, he heard something fall in the bathroom before hearing someone whimper from where he was. His hand slowly slid off as his ear perked up, a frown deepening on his features as his hardness was forgotten. A soft cry escaped from the bathroom there, and it was a familiar, broken whisper, "Please, no."
"Alex," Loki called, walking cautiously to the door. Nothing came. But he heard her breathing, suddenly get heavy and loud. He glanced down to see the lights in the bathroom to be going in and out before he heard loud cries come from it. The same familiar panic ran through him and he yelled, "Alex!" He sprinted toward the door, his hands closing around the doorknob as he heard Alex suddenly beg in the room for someone to stop.
"Stop! Stop! Stop!" Her voice screeched in there as he heard something fall against the wall. He jiggled the doorknob hard, pushing against the door as if he was going to break through it. The cries escaping Alex were becoming louder, and the more he heard the more he attempted. "Get out!"
"Alexandra, open the door!" His mind scowled at himself. Would she really be able to open the door with whatever was happening in there?
"He's here!"
"Alex—."
"Let him in, please! Go away!"
"Who is in there? Alex!" Loki was now shouting; turning the doorknob so hard that he wished it would just break. He could not spare the bit of magic he had left within him like he had last time. He was not able to feel it suddenly build up like it did when he opened the door the night she was tortured. "Alex—!"
"I said, get out!" With the final strained yell escaping her, the door gave way. Loki had burst into the bathroom finding the door suddenly unlocked. The lights were no longer going on and off, he did not see Alexandra heaving harsh breaths; she only stood by the mirror, looking at him confused, but with unmistakable tears down her eyes. Loki blinked several times, glancing down to see her grip so tight on the edges of the sink that her knuckles were white, and yet once he looked up at her he saw Alex, puzzled, looking at him as if he had barged into her personal space. "Have you heard of knocking, Loki?" She asked him, so causally and so smoothly that it made him do a double take. Where was the strained tone that he heard just before? Why was she speaking as if she wasn't being murdered or worse?
Loki's head tilted up, looking down at her confused and glancing between the door and her as if both were foreign objects. This was not right. He expected the bathroom to look like it was in disarray but it wasn't. It was in perfect order, far too perfect order. Alex looked as though she was physically in distress, but she wasn't so emotionally. He didn't imagine whatever was going on in here. He did not. Those cries and screams were far too familiar; he had heard them before to know that they were real. And they were a far cry away from what he was imagining before with her.
Although, instead of standing there, looking between the bedroom and her, he decided that it wasn't best to answer her honestly. He lied smoothly, "The door was unlocked and I had to use the washroom… I thought you were elsewhere."
Alex pursed her lips. Loki stood and waited for her reply. "That's weird, I just was talking to you and I thought I locked the door." She went into the bathroom fifteen minutes ago, Loki knew, how was she just talking with him?
Maybe she didn't remember.
Loki shrugged his shoulders, acting sheepish when his mind was whirling with many different scenarios of why, what, and how whatever happened in there happened. "I must have dozed off and forgotten."
"Right…" she said to him slowly. "Okay… uh, well I'm going to be a while so you can use the other one." She… she really didn't remember… at all. Loki turned away and left the bathroom quickly, making a point to close the door as his face had fallen. His hand idly stayed on the door, recounting in his head what just occurred. He knew. He figured it all out long before, during their last night in Chicago. The thought had come to him but it wasn't confirmed, the slight words that she would say that did not belong to her only made him more suspicious of it, but now all of it was confirmed for him. He didn't know if he should feel betrayed, or hurt, or… impressed by this.
Or even… slightly… disturbed. Actually, he could feel himself more than slightly disturbed from this. He retreated to the bed, no longer wishing to use the washroom, but wishing himself to be proven wrong. For once… he wanted to be wrong about something, when he had always strived to be right. He covered himself the way he had done before, his eyes firmly on top of the door as he heard Alex's nightly routine be done over again as if she had not done it before. She came out of the bathroom fifteen minutes later, and Loki pretended to sleep as she laid down next to him, turning over so that he would think all of this through.
He decided to resolve that she shouldn't know what he did. He shouldn't tell her… this would crush her. Loki turned over to see that Alex was sleeping on her side toward him, her knees were bent and she was almost in a fetal position. She almost looked as though she was in peace, but he saw that she wasn't.
"That wasn't so bad," Loki remarked, going into the hotel room in Harrah's, and dropping the bag onto the ground. He was acting strange all day. I knew something was off with him, but I couldn't pinpoint what it was exactly. Surprisingly, it was smooth getting into the hotel. He gave them Bill's ID, when he was checking in, made them believe that he was actually Bill by changing the picture with a little illusion, as he called it, and they gave us… an extremely nice suite. Actually, it was more than that. My eyes practically bulged out looking around it as I followed him in.
There was a King sized bed in the middle of the room, with a living room connected to it. Beige carpeting that looked so soft that I thought I felt its comfort through my sneakers. Out of pure curiosity, I strolled into the bathroom and felt my lip pulling up as my eyes took it in. It looked like the suite of a visiting King or Queen… My eyes went over to the Jacuzzi that was sitting next to the shower and I felt my mouth actually drool over it. My mind was screaming… I needed to use that thing before we would leave on Monday. "What did you have to do to Bill to give us this suite it's fucking amazing?"
"Nothing," Loki stated, coming up behind me. His hands briefly fall on top of my waist as he went around me to look at it. His eyebrows perked as I rose mine. I doubt Bill had done this out of the goodness of his heart, Loki had to have done something to have him pay for this. We were staying there for three nights, I'd say that this room was over 600 bucks per night, perhaps more. "I may have picked it whilst he was staring elsewhere through the images that they had of it."
I smirked over to him, asking, "And what goodness of your heart made you want to dote upon me?" Loki did not answer, but only glared at me in response. My smirk hadn't wavered. Did that sound flirty? It almost did to me, even if I was actually wondering it. He didn't answer me, instead he walked past me back into the bedroom. I felt reluctant in following him back in. Not only because of this beautiful room, but because… he was acting as if I was repulsive, I felt.
I caught him staring out of the window, staring off at the water view. I walked slowly toward him, to stand beside him and stare off with him. "It's… It's a nice view, isn't it?" His jaw tightened next to me as his eyes went downward, his hands were on the black sill, and I noticed his grip grow tight. I narrowed my eyes at him confused, my hand touching his tentatively. Why was he acting like this? I questioned him, "Is something bothering you?"
"Nothing." He stated shortly, in a tone that said to me that I should drop this topic before going on. I frowned at him before he stalked off, moving away from my touch. "What is this… uh…" He started, but then he turned around with his eyes falling on me… he didn't go on for a few seconds. I stared at him confused before he continued, shaking his head at himself, "thing you want to show me, to get the money?"
My mouth parted. I asked him, "Is it me? Did I do something wrong?" I couldn't just skip over this as he wanted me to. We were fine yesterday, at least I thought we were. The awkwardness between us was just beginning to pass.
He tilted his head and sighed heavily. "Alex—."
"You're acting strange. Ever since last night you've been acting strange." I interrupted, and I think I heard my voice actually crack as I stared at him almost desperately. This morning he had barely spoken to me and at one point he spoke to Bill in the corner, like he and him needed to talk about something that I shouldn't know about. They both seemed very secretive. I didn't understand and it was almost killing me that I didn't know what was going on. It could have been nothing. It was possible. But nothing? When did something ever not happen? I feel like I am in a soap opera; my very own cruel and fucked up version of All My Children.
I wouldn't be surprised if a twin would come up next.
Loki blinked at me several times, looked around himself, before he slowly sat himself down on top of the couch, propping his leg on top of his other. I waited for a cheap excuse to come out of his mouth. He admitted to me, "I am tired. I did not get much sleep last night." I bit the inside of my mouth, staring at him suspiciously. I had not heard a worse lie in my life, especially coming from him. "Do you trust me on that?"
"No," I muttered to him.
"There is nothing to doubt me on, Alex."
"I have a lot to doubt you on," I started to him, "and this is the first time, in a long time, where I felt like something is going on. But I can't explain what. I just… I just want you to be honest with me… is something going on?"
The question hung in the air, making the silence grow thick. He soon gestured to me though to go closer to him. "I swore to you something when we have first started this, Alexandra," Loki started to me as I moved to sit down on top of the arm of the couch, sitting close to him and having my arm along the top.
"What did you promise me when we first started this?" I asked him, and I saw his eyes gleam as they locked with mine. My breath was taken out of my lungs as his hand came on top of mine. I stared into those green eyes, and I knew whatever was to come out of his mouth then would be something I would just nod my head to. He knew that as well. I swallowed thickly as his fingers intertwined with mine. I didn't know if he was doing this to be romantic or to have me shut up, but whatever his intentions were, it was working. This was… intimate… I wanted intimacy with him again. I missed it so much, and it only had been a week.
I thought I knew what his promise. "I think we both know that promise cancelled out the moment I got…" my eyes dropped down to the mark that was going to burn me down soon enough, or begin to.
Loki closed his eyes as he moved our clasped hands over my thigh, bunching up the tight denim over it. "I did not mean that far back, I'm afraid. I promised you that…" his eyes looked up at mine and I felt my free hand move to smooth it down his neck. His voice was soft as he spoke, gentle, it would make anyone melt to tell you the truth. "I promised… that… I was going to protect you, until the time would come. You would not be out of my sights and Amora would not try and harm you, or worse."
I didn't remember those exact words, but I knew what he meant. I nodded my head to him, but I did not realize the skepticism in his gaze. As if, he knew something that I didn't. I was too distracted to even think about it. "Do you still doubt my words?" Our faces were inching closer. I didn't realize that I was falling off the arm of it as our foreheads met, his hand releasing mine as it went to rest on my waist. "Has she come? Have I done wrong to not abide to my promise?"
I murmured to him, now sharing the same air he was breathing, "Even if she does it wouldn't be your fault."
"Has she?" He asked, almost more adamantly than before. It didn't make me confused as it should have done. He ignored what I said. "Have I failed in my promise?"
"No, you have not." He hummed after that. My forehead leaned off of his after a moment as I went to capture his mouth with mine. I hadn't been close to him in a while. Yesterday when I thought of this wonderful idea of card counting for the cash, wasn't enough for me. The brief and yet passionate touch of our lips was only on my side. I wanted his hands on me, I wanted all of him then. My hand gripped at his arm to keep his hand where it was. But it was only with a brush of his lips, that I couldn't… shouldn't be doing this.
I moved my head away from him, clearing my throat before speaking, "We… really shouldn't… if I am to—."
"I am not the only one acting differently," Loki stated to me as I jumped off the arm. I ignored what he said to me as I went to the duffle bag to take out a deck of cards for us. I heard some amusement in his voice as he said to me, "Should I ask why you are acting like this as you have done?"
"Simple, I'm tired." My response was automatic, mocking his own somewhat. "And, uh, we have business."
"We have a lot of business." Loki replied to me. His reply was surprising a few moments ago he was brooding about the hotel room. Now he sounded amused and talking to me as if I was acting crazy. "I know which business I want to take with you." Thank goodness my back was to him. My face immediately flamed up as I searched for the deck of cards. My hands fumbled around our clothes though, passing the box several times before finally finding it.
I gulped loudly as I held the cards close to me. "Beat the dealer first. Then we'll talk." I moved back to where we were, pulling up a chair to grab it. I opened the box, the cards fell into my hand and the familiar feeling was the sweetest. I felt it well up in my chest as I began to shuffle in front of him. I felt right at home then. I hadn't heard the sound of cards slapping together, brushing past the other, since… that… one night. I tried to not let myself think about that night.
"I've beaten you in things before." Loki brought me out of my trance I put myself under.
"This is different, my older and less wiser padawan." I told him, bringing my finger to his nose to poke it playfully. It was safe to do that at a distance, even though I half wished we would stop this and he would grip my hand tight to bring me over to him rather than letting it fall. "The dealer always wins. You always lose."
"How do we win then if the dealer always wins?" He asked me before I started dealing for us. I wasn't going to answer him yet. "And what is a padawan?"
It took me a moment before I realized my Star Wars reference. I waved it off though, dismissively, "You're a student. That's all."
"Ah, I see."
"I'm only going to teach you the basic rules, then we'll go get something to eat and then I'll teach you how to cheat." I smirked over at him. I was going to pass down some wisdom to this man and… I actually trusted him with it. This wasn't like when I taught my ex-boyfriend, when I had done the same. I barely even taught him then and he still messed shit up for me. I doubted Loki would actually allow things to be messed up, and from sitting across from him, I was assured that we'd have an easy time with this. I added to him, "Tomorrow we'll find someone to help us."
"We are going to find someone at random?"
"Yes."
"That is not wise."
"I know," I said to him. "But I need someone else. I think I can find someone… semi-reliable. And if he tries to pull one over us, we'll pull one over him."
"Or we can do so completely and just use him dry," he suggested. My eyebrows perked up at the idea… it was a good one. "Now, show me." He ordered me quietly, with his hand on top of his face, just hovering below his mouth. His eyes were watching mine as I explained to him the concept of the game, giving his top card a value, and explaining how I wasn't going to flip until he decided whether to hit or stay to reach 21, or Blackjack. He had a 6 for his first hand, and his bottom card was an 8. I asked him if he wanted to hit or stay, he replied hit, and he had gotten lucky. He beat me.
The other times we played with the different hands, he still had beaten me, doing what he wanted rather than me giving him the actual rules. Just like all the fucking beginners who think that the rules are what they all want to do, not taking into account that there are actual rules to follow with when to hit and when to stay. Over 16, you have to stay. Below, you have to hit. You always have to assume that I have the Ace when I have a face card showing or a 10, or if it's the other way around.
Once I told him the rules of it, he began to lose. And the amount of hands made the dealer (me) victorious. I had the power, he did not, and it was glorious. I had to end up dragging him out of the room to eat dinner, he was so attentive, I never thought I'd actually see him shut up and listen to me.
When we came back, it was immediate. He wanted to play more with the rules handed to him. And before I started teaching him how to count, I gave him a warning, "Don't gamble, you never gamble."
"And why's that?" He asked.
"You will lose," I said to him, "you never should treat this as a game, but as a strategy. We're not playing an actual game any more… once you count."
"Can you teach me that thing you do with the cards in your hands that…" He started making the motion with it, making me smirk while I was shuffling.
"The bridge thing…?" I suggested. Even though it was off topic, I liked us getting off topic. I actually thought it was cute when he did that.
"That's what it's called, yes."
I chuckled lightly, "Yeah, sure." I moved my seat so that it was sitting next to him, and with my cards, I delicately put them in his hands. I gestured for him to shuffle and he imitated my movements before instructing him, "Okay, now divide them up…" He did, and he slapped the cards together almost perfectly. He had let them stay there for a moment before picking them up and trying it for himself. The cards though flew out of his grip as he bent them to his will. I shook my head chuckling before remarking, "Okay, now comes the game called 52 Pickup."
He shook his head as I gathered the cards for him. None of them fell onto the floor, which was good. I made him try again, but once he had the cards stuck between each other, I guided his hands with mine, covering them and helping him have the cards in a more organized way. His grip on them was tight, so I aided him with it. "You need to hold them more gently, your hands are too strong."
"You are the first woman to ever say that to me." I smirked as I laughed, removing my hands from his once I felt the blush on my face. I had to take them away from him in case he'd see.
"Do you even have card games in Asgard, or do you sit around trying to stab each other with spears?"
"We are a warring Realm who prizes their warriors but we know what it is to play games, there are such a thing as card games, and others."
"Well, did you play them?"
"When I was younger, I did not want to waste my time with it when I grew older, I had better things to do."
"Too cool for it, are we?" I asked him amused, grinning as he handed me the cards. I sat back in my chair as I idly shuffled. "What sort of games did you play?"
"I thought that you were going to teach—."
"We're taking a break," I said, my eyes falling to the cards. I just wanted to sit back and listen to him talk, because he hadn't done much of it. We barely just talked any more. I didn't know when it stopped. "Now, if only we had some wine to drink."
"Mmm, to get us drunk will hinder us though. I don't think that'd be a good idea."
"You're a lightweight if you get drunk off of wine," I teased, crossing my legs. But then I remembered the last time we had gotten drunk and I didn't think it'd be a good idea. "But answer my question. What did you play?"
He blinked several times at me before he sat back more comfortably. He sighed heavily, bringing a hand to his forehead as he started, "There was this one thing I always liked to do with Thor. We would always race in the palace, and have contests of who would climb the trees the fastest. He'd always win until I learned how to cut the corners, so to speak."
"Ah, so you cheated."
"Using my resources is not cheating," he stated to me with a crooked grin to himself. I nodded my head, narrowing my eyes at him. I would let him get away with that, the little cheater. I did not have to prompt him to go on. "There was this stupid game though we'd play with the others in Asgard. I swear it was the thing of mortals, running away from someone who'd try to—."
"Tag, you're describing Tag."
"I did not—."
I shook my head at him, "I didn't like it either. I was never able to catch the other people. Did you have a game that was like Hide and Seek? Where you would hide—?"
"And the other would find you, yes." Loki finished for me. "No one was able to find me, and I always used to switch where I was so—."
I chuckled, "So they would never find you. I used to try that and I'd get caught."
I noticed how he moved to sit at the edge of the couch before stating, "Not me. One day, they all spent hours looking for me until they went to my mother who found me in a tree they had already checked—the first place she looked."
"Funny that your mom knew where to find you."
"She knows me better than most." This was the first time he really spoke about her to me, other than a passing word. It was strange, and yet nice how he held his mother so high in esteem, when he didn't for Odin. Thor he hadn't spoke much of when we were together either.
I sighed before explaining, "We were more of a card game family and board games rather than going outside. There was like this game called Clue, and you had to guess who murdered the master of the house from everyone there. And my sister and I would actually guess who murdered him without even playing it, we'd just read the box's description and take a guess from that."
"Were you two ever right?"
"No, because that wasn't the object of the game. And, uh, with cards my mother and I would play this game other than Blackjack where we had to finish our hand before the other based on the cards we had on the two piles and—"
"Play until you would run out. We learned that foolish game from watching you mortals, it's called—."
"Spit, it's called spit."
"Right, silly game. I played it because it was the only thing I had beaten my brother in." Wow, he didn't correct himself when he referred to Thor as a brother. That was some progress.
I admitted to him, "I never won unless I was playing with Joe or teaching someone else how to play, I always took advantage of them when they were to slow to even pick up the cards."
"Thor got disinterested in it right away. We only played it three or four times."
"I played it everyday until Joe started spitting on the pile he wanted because he heard that was what his grandfather used to do when playing. It got gross."
"That… that is why we consider you uncivilized because of—."
"Hey, hey," I started to defend myself. "No one does that any more, you never know what sort of things you could catch from it, and I stopped after…"
"I really doubt that," Loki commented and before I made to defend myself he threw a wink over to me. I bit down on my bottom lip, looking away from him. "We should play that."
I scoffed, "Play spit? I still have to teach you how to count."
"That could wait, we have all night to teach me."
"Uh…" when I felt myself beginning to say no, I stopped myself before nodding to him, "Okay then, we'll play." I got up before moving my chair back across from him. I sat down on top of it, crossing my legs as I dealt out the cards to us. "I haven't played in years."
"I haven't played in centuries and yet I believe I can still beat you."
I laughed at him as my brow furrowed, "Really now? Do you want to make this interesting then?"
"Hmm, interesting…" He started to set up his side of the table, surprising me because he actually knew what I was talking about. I somewhat thought he was still bullshitting it all. "Interesting, how?"
"If I win… you buy me a cup of coffee tomorrow."
"Very well, even if that sounds boring." I began to set up my side of the table, making my piles before pushing my deck to the side. "If I win…" he trailed off, letting my mind go to the worse possible thing.
"Nothing sex—."
"You know that thing that we passed on the boardwalk before?" He surprised me once more with a mischievous smirk on his face and amusement sparking in his eyes. I was almost speechless that it was not what I thought it was, since I secretly desired it and I would have considered losing on purpose if it were the case. Did that tell him I wanted it? I looked at him skeptically though, confused as to what he was talking about. "The large, round thing you were staring at like it may attack you before we came back here."
"The Ferris Wheel?"
"Yes, the one thing children weren't afraid of while you stood terrified. You will go on that tomorrow if you lose."
"Oh, come on, no. I'm afraid of heights. I'm not agreeing to—."
"Are you saying then that you expect to lose?" He interrupted me with a question that made me not want to continue on anyway. My mouth hanged open as the words died down. I had no argument for him… it would look awful on my part, and I wanted to beat him. Centuries were greater than years, I was sure that I had a shot. I shook my head no to him before holding my hand out. "We're at an accord then."
With that, he took my hand in his, giving it a shake before bringing it up to his lips to kiss it lightly. I swallowed as he released it, it was a good tactic on his part, and I'd admit that, because that hand started fumbling as it went to my cards. Unfortunately, I couldn't flip them fast enough.
Loki and I know something that you don't know, ha ha haha ha. And I hope you came up with an idea of your own, ha ha haha ha. No but in all seriousness, I hope you are all confused by the beginning and have developed a theory... or figured it out with all the little hints I gave you throughout the story... and I hope that you enjoyed the chapter! I had a lot of fun writing this one actually... and now I'm supposed to do my homework due tomorrow. Thank you for the wonderful support, you all are great! And I hope to update real soon, thank you :)
PS- I have no idea if they actually play Tag, Hide & Seek, or Spit, or variations of those games in Asgard, none, but who knows. They may have...
