Chapter 33: A New Enemy P4
Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto, or Avatar the Last Air Bender, or Hades whom is Disney's version of him. I do own Kasumi along with most of her deck which is based off of Fire Emblem female characters and the four Titan Cards.
Things had taken a turn for the worse. No sooner had Aang defeated Buzz Weavile, did Marik the Third warned of his next intentions...Kidnapping three of Ash's friends just as his father did to Yugi Muto's friends Joey Wheeler and Tea Gardner. At first light, after a light breakfast we all headed out as fast as we could. We didn't know where Ash's three friends were but if Marik threatened to kidnap them then we had to make a break for it and fast...Where ever Ash's friends were WE had to get to them before Marik the Third did. I was still a bit in my strain and was trying to keep up with my friends.
"You do realize Lady Kasumi that we don't know who Ash's friends look like" Toph told me.
I nodded "True, all we know is what Marik said, a red head girl, a brown haired girl and her brother."
Brock answered "Misty is the Red head girl, she wears a yellow shirt with red suspenders, blue shorts, May is the brown haired girl, she usually wears a bandana around her hair and wears a red oufit. Max is short and wears glasses."
"We've gotta warn them!" Ash told me.
"I know!" I snapped at him "Why do you think we're trying to find them before Marik does?"
"Good point" Ash said.
Hanabi was scouting ahead of us expertly watching for any signs of Ash's friends.
"Any sign of them Hanabi?" Ash asked her.
"Negative!" Hanabi reported to him "Even with my Byukugan, I can't detect them...This means they are ether further away from our destination or...We are going the wrong way to find them!"
"Why would he go after May, Max, and Misty?" Ash inquired.
Haku answered "Welcome to the usual way villains act and think Ash. For villains...Anyone that's attached to their opposition is fair game. This isn't like some person you can usually beat in a Pokemon Battle...There are some villains that you can't even stop when Dueling them."
Ash may not have liked that explanation but Haku was right. Villains weren't always someone you could defeat in a Pokemon Battle, or in Duel Monsters although this Marik the Third sounded like his plans could be beaten by someone that Dueled.
"I hope we're not going to be too late to protect them" Ash muttered.
"I hope the same thing too Ash" I told him "But we have a big problem with that, we don't even know where your three friends are...Marik does thanks to his armies of Mind Slaves."
"Shall we ask Team Rocket for their assistance?" Ash asked.
"They are already on the mission to see where a castle might be" I reminded him.
"Geese! This is frustrating!"
"Pika pi" Pikachu agreed with Ash.
"Get in line Ash!" I told him also in agreement with him "And welcome to the daily life of a Signer at times. My life's not all fun and games!"
Hanabi stops briefly causing us all to stop. Ash looks up at Hanabi in the tree "What's going on?"
Hanabi raised her hand "Haku! A word with you, I think I'm spotting someone or two figures coming our way."
Haku took heed to Hanabi's tone of voice and jumped up into the tree to help her out. He didn't see anything yet but asks her "Where are you seeing these figures? Friends or foes?"
"Up ahead exactly fifty meters away!"
Haku leaps up "Which direction Hanabi?"
"Up ahead!"
Haku turned to Brock and Aang "Watch after Lady Kasumi, I'm going to check things out. I'll be right back!"
Both Aang and Brock gave my bodyguard a nod as Haku seemed to have disappeared. Dawn was resting her tired legs as we had been running for quite a while "Man, this running stuff takes it out of you."
Toph agreed "True there, but in this situation we can't afford to rest."
Aang agreed with Toph "Any moment wasted not trying to find them, means Marik the Third will find them for sure."
Haku would return back swiftly.
"What did you see Haku?" I asked him.
Haku answered "It seemed to be three Pokemon Trainers."
"Three of them?" I asked.
"Were they my friends?" Ash asked.
"Negative" Haku answered him "I doubt your friends wear Rare Hunter cloaks!"
"Marik's men?" I asked.
Haku nodded "Looks like they were."
"What did they look like?" Aang asked.
"One had brown hair, looked to be a boy and I could've sworn he had cheerleaders with him."
"GARY OAK!" Ash shouted "That was my rival for the most part of Kanto region! What's he doing as a Rare Hunter, I thought he'd never stoop that low!"
I looked at Ash "This maybe your rival and I can see that in your eyes he wouldn't dare stoop that low. However he maybe controlled by the Millennium Rod."
"Are all of Marik's Mind Slaves controlled by his Millennium Rod?" Dawn asked me.
Haku answered "Most certainly yes to some degree. Now depending if you are willing to obey him or unwilling is a different story. If you are unwilling then you are under the Millennium Rod's control forever until the user sets you free or if the one under the Millennium Rod's control is defeated in a Duel"
"But Gary and I don't duel!" Ash proclaimed.
"Then perhaps beating him in a Pokemon Battle would be an equal alternative" I told him.
"Lady Kasumi's right" Hanabi admitted.
"Whose else is with Gary?" Brock asked.
Haku answered "Some hot girl with long black hair...That I could tell is Psychic...I believe I overheard this Gary announce her as Sabrina."
"Psychic Type Gym Leader in Kanto" Brock said remembering all Gym Leaders of the Kanto Region then for once he shivered "The one that turned Misty and me into dolls!"
Haku turned to him "You and this Misty were turned into dolls? Why?"
Brock answered "Let's just say Ash tried to have a rematch with her and thought he had caught a Haunter...Only to find out Haunter wasn't around him...Why?"
Haku smirked "I thought Dr. Crowler during Jaden Yuki's time at Duel Academy and Zane Truesdale were the first two people to be turned into dolls. Looks like this world had done that before."
"Was there a third?" I asked.
Haku nodded looking at Ash "There was one Trainer that I could tell that might'v been stronger than the previous...He had red hair, wore a cape...I even think he had a huge Dragon monster out."
Brock hesitates as he knew who this trainer was "Curses! That trainer must be Lance!"
"Lance?" Ash and Dawn asked.
Brock turned to them "The Champion of the Jhoto League. A Dragon type Pokemon Trainer."
"DRAGON TYPES?" Dawn asked shocked "Great!"
"What's the problem?" Aang inquired.
"Dragon Types are one of the most strongest types!" Dawn told us "Only weakened to their own type and Ice types!"
"And they resist Fire, Electric, Water, and Grass type moves" Brock added on.
"Great" Ash muttered gritting his teeth "Gary, Sabrina and now this Lance guy...And Hanabi you picked them up right?"
"That's correct!" Hanabi said "And they are coming this way!"
"What could this mean?" Ash asked me.
I gave him a look which read ARE YOU THAT DUMB? It was a stupid question to ask me as even Brock and Dawn gave him the same look. I decided to answer him "Let's just say...If three Rare Hunters are coming this way to intercept us...Then your friends are close by! Those three are going to be sent to delay us so that Marik can get your friends!"
"What will happen if they manage to confront us?" Ash asked me.
Dawn answered for me "They'll force us into a Pokemon Battle where if we lose, our Pokemon will have their souls removed!"
"Not only will they have their souls removed, but the trainers themselves might lose their souls if they lose the Pokemon Battle."
Brock frowned "Ash, and I can could handle Gary and Sabrina...But Lance...That's a whole different story. Normally you'd have to get past the Elite Four to battle him in the Jhoto Region..."
Dawn panics "Great! I'm only interested in Pokemon Contests! We are going to be no match to Lance!"
"We'd better think of something quick then" Aang said.
I agreed stepping up "Let's try to avoid confronting them...Hanabi! Keep your Byukugan on! We need you to monitor them."
Haku then looks at me "Lance maybe a Pokemon Trainer but I saw a Duel Disk on his arm."
"Lance knows how to Duel?" Brock asked.
Haku shrugged "Perhaps he was trying to fool my eyes but anyone with a Duel Disk means he knows the game of Duel Monsters..."
I paused letting this sink in "If he was there, there must've been a fourth Rare Hunter that Duels."
I sat on the ground thinking of a plan.
"Nows not the time to think!" Ash told me.
Brock put his hand on Ash's shoulder "If she's sitting then she must already have a plan to prevent Lance from overpowering us."
I did humming drawing a circle knowing with Hanabi's eyes we had the advantage. I turned to Haku "Hanabi said they were further north...How far exactly and where is the area they are at?"
Haku answered "About fifty meters as Hanabi reported, there seemed to be a split in the road halfway from here. Why?"
I gave out a grin, I had a plan but needed Haku to confirm one thing "If they are coming from the north then that means Ash's friends may be further ahead from there right?"
"That's correct" Haku said.
I turned to Brock and Ash "And you two can take on Gary and Sabrina?"
"I'll be delighted to take on Gary again and show him how much stronger Pikachu and I are!" Ash told me.
Pikachu agreed giving me a thumbs up with his cute little hands "PIKA!
Brock nodded "I myself haven't face Sabrina in a battle, but I do believe I have some chance in beating her."
"All what's blocking our way is Lance" Dawn told me.
I nodded "Not if we separate him from Gary and Sabrina."
"How do you plan to do that?" Brock asked.
I looked at Ash and Brock you two will have to do something that gets their attention while Topg gets Lance's attention by Earth Bending. Toph smirked "Oh can I hit him in the head?"
"As long as you don't knock him out...Sure" I told her.
Brock got it "You want to take Lance on Lady Kasumi?"
I looked at him "I'm the daughter of Yusei Fudo, a Champion of Duel Monsters. It would be fitting if I did Duel him."
"That would leave him with one Duelist on his side" Hanabi said.
"Plus you aren't ready to Duel yet are you?" Aang asked me.
I smiled "I should be able to Duel."
Brock remembered that when we did visit the Pokemon Center, the Nurse Joy there must've been informed by her sister that I was in a strain and had whipped up a special tea based to fully recover one from being strained. It was a rare tea and it tasted like strawberries. She did admit it would take about two hours. Brock then saw me looking better "That tea actually helped you."
"Wonder what it was" I admitted "It felt rich is strawberries and was sweet but I feel better."
"You look like your normal self now" Haku admitted.
I nodded turning to Dawn, Haku and Hanabi "When our distraction is undergone, I need you three to get going to try to intercept Marik from taking Max, May and Misty."
Dawn, Haku, Hanabi nodded but it was Aang that asked "What about me and Toph?
I turned to them "If Lance has a partner, I'll need one of you with me to be my partner in a Tag Duel."
"Sweet!" Toph said "I get to Duel alongside the Signer!"
I turned to Aang "Alright, then I'll need you to follow Ash, and Brock to assist them if they need it."
"Gotcha!" Aang said.
The whole group walked over to about twenty-five meters...Hanabi still detected the three Rare Hunters whom were now perhaps twenty-five meters away from us as well. I saw that it was the perfect place to set up our trap. I pointed to the left position of where the fork was pointing towards "Aang, Ash, Brock, you three take that way! Toph, and I will go the right way...Dawn, Haku and Hanabi remain hidden until the Rare Hunters take our bait then bail as fast as you can."
Everyone gave me a nod as Haku studied the trees "We can make it easily by jumping from tree-to-tree."
"Maybe you Ninjas can do that!" Dawn told him "But I can't!
Haku holds onto her and she blushes as he spoke I'll carry you along."
Before Dawn could protest any longer Haku had jumped up into the trees with Hanabi at another tree and Dawn screaming as Haku took her into the trees.
"Well I guess that settles that problem" Ash muttered.
"Pika Pika" Pikachu said agreeing with him.
With everyone hiding all we had to do was wait for our moment. Sure enough, Haku was right. The three Rare Hunters arrived. Just as Haku described there were two boys and one girl. These must've been Gary Oak, Sabrina, and Lance. From my vantage point I gave Aang, Ash, and Brock the single. Aang Air Bends causing a gust of wind to erupt around the Rare Hunters. Ash then nods to Pikachu whom uses Quick Attack to run around them, then at my nod Ash gave Pikachu it's orders "Pikachu Thunderbolt!"
"PPPIIIKKKAAACCCHHHUUU!" Pikachu announced sending a shocking attack at the opponents.
Lance was the only one to dodge the electric attack while Gary and Sabrina were struck and gave screams of pain.
"After that rat!" Gary ordered.
Pikachu tore off running with Gary and Sabrina after him. Timing it right, Toph Earth Bended a rock boulder then sent it flying crashing against Lance's head. Amazingly this doesn't knock him out but it does cause him to look back at me and Toph whom were standing in his view. Without consulting the other two trainers he comes after me and Toph. I nodded toward Toph "Let's go!"
"Right!" Toph told me.
Lance comes after me and Toph just as I wanted, while Gary and Sabrina headed off chasing Ash's Pikachu. When the dust settled, I saw able to hear Haku carrying Dawn, and Hanabi jumping silently from tree limb to tree limb very carefully. Once then it was up to those three to save Ash's friends while Aang, Ash, and Brock dealt with Gary, and Sabrina...While Toph and I dealt with Lance. With both Vulpix's running at my side, we stopped at a good distance away so that Lance couldn't get to Dawn, Haku and Hanabi. I was certain, Aang, Ash, Brock and Ash's Pikachu were doing the same on their end.
Once at a safe distance I stopped and turned towards Lance with Toph at my side. I looked at him as he glared "Lady Signer..."
"Rare Hunter..." I spoke.
Toph was at my side.
"You seem completely well today" Lance told me.
I smirked "That's right!"
He focuses on me "If you want to get past me, you'll have to deal with me."
I gave him a smile "That can be arranged!"
He sees my two Vulpix's or well the one I owned and the Snow White Baby Vulpix "Master Marik will be pleased when I defeat you in a Duel and give him that snow white baby Vulpix."
"You'll try it" I said and I was able to see that even Lance was truly brainwashed against his will. I should've known no Champion in anything would willingly become a Rare Hunter. Right then I knew I had to undo Marik's Millennium Rod on him so that Marik couldn't send his soul to the Graveyard. I had to hope my Psychic Powers could cancel that out which meant I had to beat Lance in a Duel to do it.
I gave the Rare Hunter a look "Marik! You fiend! You took control over this man beyound his will. Well it looks like I'll make sure to snap him out of it."
Marik's voice came from Lance "We shall see how powerful those Psychic Powers you have are!"
I gave Lance a nod as we activated our Duel Disks. One way or another I was going to free Lance from Marik's control. We drew our first five cards and shouted "DUEL!"
My Life Points: 4000
Lance's Life Points: 4000
"I'll be going first" I told Lance "It's my move, I draw!"
I drew my card then checked my hand "I'll start by summoning my Cleric Mist in defense mode!"
Cleric Mist appears on the field in defense mode DEF: 500.
"When Cleric Mist is successfully summoned" I told him "My Life Points increase by one thousand!"
Lance watches almost as calm as he could be as my Life Points rose. My Life Points: 5000
"So far so good" Toph said " The more Life Points Lady Kasumi has the better off she has in making sure she won't be easily defeated."
"Next" I said "I activate the Spell Card: Silencer!"
Mist's staff began glowing as I told Lance the effect "Silencer can only be played when I have one Spellcaster Type Monster on the field. It prevents you from setting or playing any Spell or Trap Cards for two whole turns!"
"Finally," I told him "I set one card face-down and end my turn."
"Impressive move Signer" Lance told me as Silencer gave me an edge, that I knew would have "It's my move, I draw!"
He drew his card "I Summon Black Stone of Legend!"
A black stone appeared on the field ATK: 0
I watched knowing what maybe coming as their was an identical White Stone of Legend.
Lance then spoke "I activate my Black Stone of Legend's special effect! I can tribute it and Special Summon one Red-Eyes Monster from my deck. So be gone, Black Stone of Legend and now please meet...RED-EYES BLACK DRAGON!"
The Black Stone of Legend vanishes but in it's place was one incredible monster back in the day of Yugi Muto, the King of Games. It was a pure black Dragon with Red-Eyes. ATK: 2400
"I might not be able to use my Spell Cards, but my Red-Eyes Black Dragon has the attack to defeat your monster! So, Battle! Red-Eyes Black Dragon attack Cleric Mist with Inferno Fire Blast!"
Red-Eyes Black Dragon roared taking to the skies aiming at Cleric Mist, it breathed out a powerful fireball. I then spoke "Your Dragon maybe powerful but I activate my Trap Card: Scrap-Iron Scarecrow!"
A scarecrow appeared in front of Cleric Mist as I spoke "Once per turn, I can activate Scrap-Iron Scarecrow, it negates one monster attack each turn and after it does, I can place it face-down again so I can activate it again next turn!"
"Good move Lady Kasumi!" Toph told me and I gave her a thumbs up.
"Turn end" Lance told me.
"It's my move!" I announced "I draw!"
I drew my card "Nice!" I then spoke as my Standby Phase passed "When Cleric Mist is still out on my side of the field during each of my Standby Phases, my Life Points increase by five hundred!"
Cleric Mist raised her staff and began healing my Life Points. My Life Points: 5500
"Not bad" Lance told me.
"That was only the beginning Lance!" I told him " For now, I summon my Lightning Mage Ilyana
A mage girl appeared on the field ATK: 1300
"Battle!" I announced "Lightning Mage Ilyana...Attack Red-Eyes Black Dragon with Rexbolt!"
"You're crazy!" Lance told me as my monster gathered up a powerful thunder type spell which comes at Lance's monster "My Red-Eyes Black Dragon has more attack than your monster!"
I smiled "That's true, however, when Lightning Mage Llyana attacks or is attacked by a Dragon Type Monster, her Attack Points Double during any player's Battle Phase!"
"SAY WHAT?" Lance shouts seeing Lightning Mage Llyana's attack points doubled 1300-2600
"Now with that power boost, my Monster is the one that's stronger!" I told him just as my monster's attack hit his Red-Eyes Black Dragon.
Red-Eyes Black Dragon roars in pain before it is shattered and Lance's Life Points are damaged.
Lance's Life Points: 3800
"With Llyana on my side of the field" told him as my monster's attack points returned to normal 2600-1300 "You'll find that your Dragons are at a big disadvantage! Turn end!"
Lance looks at me "One of your turns have past, and until the end of your next Stand By Phase, I'll be free to use my Spell and Trap Cards!"
He checked his hand "Nice, I summon Dragon Wizard in attack mode!"
Dragon Wizard appeared on the field and looked like a new card with a Dragon wearing a spellcaster outfit. Now I swear I saw everything ATK: 1000
"When Dragon Wizard is Summoned" Lance told me "I can special summon another Dragon Type Monster from my hand as long as it's level is the same as he is or less than he is...So here comes the Manga Drago Turner Monster!"
Manga Drago appeared on the field ATK: 1400
I watched this as Lance spoke "Dragon Wizard's second effect increases each Monster's level by one."
I watched as Dragon Wizard and Manga Drago had their levels updated 2-3, 4-5
"Now" Lance spoke "I'm going to tune my Level 3 Manga Drago with my Level 5 Dragon Wizard!"
Manga Drago split into three rings, and scanned Dragon Wizard as Lance spoke a chant "Legendary Dragon appear. Sore through the skies with all your might. Synchro Summon...Level 8, Dragon Lord Griatharth!"
Out of a bright flash of light Lance's new monster appeared ATK: 3000
I looked a bit worried even with Llyana's attack boost, even her attack was useless against a Dragon with 3000 attack points.
"I activate Dragon Lord Griatharth's special ability" Lance told me "Once per turn, I can Special Summon one Dragon Type Monster in my Graveyard regardless of level! For each monster he special summons his attack strength increases by one thousand!"
This guy truly was a Dragon Champion...If he had this card in his deck. I also suspected it had another effect as well I watched as Lance spoke "So with Dragon Lord Griatharth's special ability, I'll Special Summon, Red-Eyes Black Dragon back onto the field!"
Red-Eyes Black Dragon appeared on the field ATK: 2400
With the Red-Eyes Special Summoned, Dragon Lord Griatharth had it's attack points increased 3000-4000
"Further more" Lance told me "Now we battle!"
I had to be ready with Scrap-Iron Scarecrow as Lance announce "Dragon Lord Griatharth! Attack Llyana with Dragon's Fury!"
I made to activate my Trap Card but something prevented me "What gives?"
Lance answered me with a sly smile on his face "As long as there is one other Dragon Type Monster on the field, when Dragon Lord Griartharth attacks, my opponent can't activate Spell or Trap Cards until after the damage step."
"Great..." I muttered seeing Llyana's attack points increased 1300-2600. However this wouldn't be enough for her to overcome this monster as Dragon Lord Griartharth attacked her with an intense roar and fiery breathe melting her away and damaging my Life Points heavily.
I screamed in pain as I felt this damage My Life Points: 4100
"That hurt" I muttered as I was on my knees.
"It should Signer! This is a Shadow Duel after all!"
I was waiting for his Red-Eyes Black Dragon to attack Cleric Mist but no attack ever came "What gives?" I asked him.
Lance frowned "On the turn Dragon Lord Griatharth uses his effect to Special Summon one Dragon Type Monster from the Graveyard...That Dragon Type Monster can't attack during the Battle Phase"
So, I thought Dragon Lord Griatharth's effect is similar to Michiah Maiden of Dawn's effect when she uses her ability to bring back any monster in the Graveyard...Which is good for me but next turn he can attack Mist.
"Things aren't looking too well for you Lady Signer...Dragon Lord Griatharth will see that you die so that Master Marik can have his plans of revenge on your father!
I frowned as Lance spoke "With that I end my turn!"
I looked up at Dragon Lord Griartharth "Your monster maybe powerful but it's not unbeatable! If there's anyone that can handle this, I will be able too!"
"So you say Kasumi...But your death will come soon!" Lance told me.
I bit my lip and Toph looked worried "Lady Kasumi!"
I gave Lance a small smile, this guy was truly giving me a great Dueling experience. In fact, if he wasn't being controlled by Marik, I was beginning to respect him as a Duelist. Lance wasn't so bad. He was a good guy like me. He needed to be freed "Lance, I know the real you is still in there, and I intend to save you. Even if I have to get past your Dragon to do it."
"Dragon Lord Griartharth maybe a strong monster" Lance told me "But I also have a second dangerous monster...In short Dragon Lord Griartharth is just the tip of the Iceburg!"
"Whatever you throw at me Lance" I warned him "I will be able to overcome it! And now it's my turn again...I draw!"
With that I drew my card.

Sorry it's a bit short guys but I will call it short to leave you guys hanging on what other Dragon Cards Lance has and guessing how Kasumi gets out of this one. Now next chapter is Chapter 34: A New Enemy P5. Kasumi and Lance continue their intense Duel with each other, while Ash, and Brock have a Pokemon Battle with Gary and Sabrina. Which team will win?
Yes in the next chapter there will be alertnating which is why I called this one short.
