Moonlight - part 35

NOT A LOT HAPPENED IN THIS CHAPTER SORRY, NEXT ONE WILL BE BETTER!

Since it wasn't safe for Kyla to go home she was staying at Emily's with Emily and Sam, to Jake's displeasure he knew Sam only suggested it so he could keep an eye on Kyla at all times. thank god Emily had come to his rescue and suggested that Jake stay a few night's as well until Kyla got settled.

"There are extra blankets in the closet down the hall if you get cold and help your self you anything you find around the house." Emily said leading Kyla into the guest room she'd be staying in.

"this is perfect thank you Emily." Kyla pulled her into a hug.

"It's no Problem really, i can't even imagine what you went through. all i know is from the short clip i got from Jake before he raced off to go meet you. If you ever want to talk i'm here." Emily smiled her sweet smile.

"I'm not ready quite yet but when i am you'll be one of the first." Kyla smiled back taking a seat on the bed. " but for now what i need is to get some rest."

Emily nodded moving towards the doorway. "i'll see you in the morning."

closing the door to Kyla's room Emily went into the living room where Jake and Sam were sitting looking in the direction of the TV.

"Where you guys just eavesdropping?" Emily said crossing her arms looking at the 2 boys.

"what gives you that idea?" Sam said looking up her.

"you forgot to turn the TV on." Emily chuckled looking at the dark screen.

"maybe it's just a really dark scene." Jake said.

Emily rolled her eyes sitting on the couch across from them. "yeah maybe. what were you guys talking about earlier?"

"nothing for you to concern yourself with." Sam smiled walking over to Emily kissing her forehead before going to put his plate in the kitchen.

Kyla sat up against the wall her head leaned back trying to clear her thoughts so she could sleep but, every time she closed her eyes she heard the gun shot that took Aidan's life. the vision of his eyes rolling back into his head the red liquid flowing from his lifeless body onto the rocky shore.

"Kyla." Kyla Jumped with a start her scream getting caught in her throat, as tears began gushing from her eyes flowing down her checks like a water fall.

"Jake." Kyla sobbed throwing her hands around his neck letting him wrap his warm solid arms around her. welcoming the comforting feeling they brought.

"shhh it's ok." he hushed her rubbing her back with his hands.

"just so much blood." Kyla sobbed pulling back from Jake so she could look down at her hands.

eventually Kyla's tears ran out allowing her to fall asleep with Jake's body close to her, keeping her warm.

kyla slowly opened her eyes looking down at her waist where 2 strong bands of heat Jake liked to call arms lay wrapped around her. taking her time not wanting to wake Jacob, Kyla slid down to the bottom of the bed out of his arms before swiftly making her way out of the room.

"good morning Kyla, i didn't expect you to be up so soon." Emily smiled placing a plate of muffins on the table.

"i guess i'm just not use to being able to sleep in, the day started pretty early there i was." Kyla muttered awkwardly.

Emily just nodded turning back to the stove putting in another tray of muffins.

"i was wondering if you'd like to come into town with me today i need to pick up some things for supper?"

"sure," Kyla smiled up at Emily. "It would be nice to get out for a little bit."

"awesome. i put some clothes on the bathroom counter if you want to go take a shower and get dressed before we leave. it will give me time to clean up as well."

"ok." Kyla agreed catching a look at the clock on the way by 5:46AM. greeeat.

Jake woke up feeling in front of him for Kyla, not taking him long before he realized she wasn't there he listened closely to the house and he couldn't hear her in the house or anywhere close by.

quickly getting up he marched into the living room finding Sam and Seth sitting on the couch.

"have you guys seen Kyla?" Jake asked looking around in case he missed her.

"Emily took Kyla with her into town, they wanted to pick up some stuff." Sam said not looking away from the TV.

Jake sighed walking back into the bed room finding some spare clothes to wear. Kyla would be ok. Jake told himself trying not to worry to hard about the dangers that maybe circling around her at any moment of the day.

"it's so beautiful here Em." Kyla sighed looking out at the water off an old pier in town.

"Yeah i like to come her sometimes and just look out into the water, get captivated by the movements of the waves." Emily's said feeling totally at peace where she was and being in the moment.

Kyla's body stiffened as her mind took her back to the time she floated in the stream, a time when Aidan was alive.

"hey are you ok?" Emily asked getting Kyla's attention.

Kyla hadn't even realized she was crying until she felt how wet her cheeks were.

"sorry." Kyla said turning around in the direction of her new home. "can we go back now."

Emily and Kyla silently walked to the car and they stayed quiet until they reached the house.

"i know what happened must have been hard for you-" Emily was cut off by Kyla's screaming.

"what?!" Emily yelled back startled.

"nothing." Kyla said getting out of the car and walking to the house without another word.
