This came to me while listening to the DNCE "Cake By The Ocean". When I heard the lines "See you licking frosting from your own hands. Want another taste, I'm begging, 'Yes, ma'am.'" It totally inspired me to write this Chuck and Blair one shot. Hope you all enjoy it. I promise I'm working (slowly) on the next update to "Global Ecstasy". My muse hasn't been cooperating when it comes to that one but I'm going to try to revisit it this week. Nothing belongs to me except original characters.
Blair Waldorf Bass rushed into Sarabeth's where she was meeting her best friend and sister-in-law for breakfast. She had just returned to work post maternity leave and felt like she hadn't had a real grown up girls' outing in forever. She was actually quite excited to sit down and eat without a baby or toddler hanging on her.
Serena was waiting at the table looking as if she had just left a photo shoot. She stood up when she saw Blair.
"Better late than never I guess," she chided Blair jokingly as she wrapped her in a hug.
"Cordelia decided this morning that I am the only one capable of doing her hair." Blair rolled her eyes as she took her seat. "I seriously feel like I haven't had a moment's peace since Turks and Caicos." Blair eyed her best friend. "I have to say you are looking more fabulous than usual. You're practically glowing."
Serena rearranged her napkin onto her lap smiling as she took a sip from her water glass. "Dan and I have been really good since the vacation." She reached out squeezing Blair's hand. "Thanks by the way for that."
Blair shrugged. "Well I am a sucker for true love and happy endings even if they're with Humphrey. We all can't have a Chuck Bass of our own."
Serena laughed softly. "Not even your disdain for my husband and father of my child can upset me this morning."
Blair raised her eyebrows. "Wow, the sex must be better than normal these days. I'm surprised Dan has it in him."
Serena made a disgusted face just as the waiter approached to take their orders. They spent the next thirty minutes catching up and finalizing summer plans for the Hamptons. Chuck and Blair's gorgeous East Hampton estate was finally finished and this would be their first summer in the new house.
Towards the end of breakfast Serena brought up the fact that it was only six months until Blair's birthday. Normally by May planning for the huge bash was in full swing. It was something that had been happening from the time they were in the seventh grade and Blair insisted on having a "My Fair Lady" themed tea party.
Blair groaned. "I'm all too happy to skip my birthday this year."
Serena's forehead wrinkled in confusion. "You're joking, right?"
Blair shook her head taking a sip of her coffee. "Not in the least. I just had my third child six months ago and cannot lose those last ten pounds. Not to mention the fact that I'm turning thirty. I have zero interest in celebrating either of those two facts."
"Blair Waldorf Bass not throwing herself a birthday gala. What has the world come too?" Serena waved to the waiter asking for the check. She then stared at her friend. "You're too hard on yourself. Very few women would look as amazing as you at twenty let alone thirty."
Blair tossed her napkin onto the table. "You really are in a good mood, aren't you?" They both laughed before paying the bill and heading out.
The birthday discussion was basically tabled. When Chuck had broached the subject she had shut him down saying she'd rather put the energy into planning Ned's first birthday instead. Chuck, never one to want to celebrate his own, didn't argue.
It wasn't until the beginning of October, after a chat with Serena, that he brought the subject up again.
He found her in the library having tea. The weekend nanny had taken the children on a walk to the park to feed the ducks.
He crossed over to the couch where she was sitting reading. He leaned down and kissed her as she looked up to smile at him.
He took the seat next to her. "It's so quiet."
She closed her book setting it aside. "Enjoy it. I figure we have maybe an hour max." She sat forward pouring him a cup of tea adding a splash of cream just the way he liked it before handing it to him.
He thanked her taking a sip. "I wanted to discuss your birthday. I really think we should have a party," she started to shake her head but he continued, "something simple even. It could be fifty of our closest friends and family at Per Se or anywhere else you prefer."
She turned slightly to face him. "Chuck, I'm serious, I don't want anything like that." She reached out taking his free hand. "If I'm being honest what I'd really like is you, a beach and champagne. Oh and cake. That's all I want. I'd even take a weekend locked away in a suite at The Palace; just the two of us."
She stared at him before leaning in to kiss him. "I miss being alone with you." She kissed him again this time deepening the kiss.
Chuck set his tea cup onto the tray before laying her back onto the couch. If they only had an hour he wasn't going to waste a single minute more of it talking.
Blair heard her children before she saw them. She had been happily asleep. It was Saturday and that meant being able to lie in. Chuck usually woke early and was all too happy to entertain the children (with the help of the weekend nanny of course) until Blair got up.
Blair could hear Cordelia giggling and Henry shushing his little sister and she knew they were up to something. Blair lifted her eye mask shoving it atop her head and sighing, sat up.
There near the foot of her bed were Henry and Cordelia each holding one end of long banner. Blair took in the lettering that read "Happy Birthday Mommy". It was decorated with palm trees, fish and beach scenes. Blair smiled as her gaze came to rest on Chuck standing behind Cordelia.
"Thank you. What a lovely surprise but you two do know that my birthday isn't for three more days right?"
Cordelia started hopping up and down causing the banner to twist. "Can I tell her, Daddy?"
Chuck reached down tousling Cordelia's dark brown curls. "Absolutely, Cor."
Cordelia dropped her end of the banner and crawled up on the padded bench at the end of the bed and then onto the mattress with the help of Chuck.
She pushed herself into a standing position and spread her arms wide. "You are going to Fee-fee."
Blair's brow wrinkled in confusion as she took in her daughter's very proud expression. "Where?"
Chuck laughed softly, grabbing Cordelia before she tumbled from the bed. "She means Fiji."
Blair looked shocked as she stared at her husband. "When?"
Chuck glanced down at his watch. "In about an hour."
Blair ran her hands over her face. "I can't leave in an hour. I have work and I haven't packed. And then there's the children. I can't…" she was speechless.
Chuck sat down on the edge of the bed. Cordelia climbed out of his arms and next to Blair. Henry had joined them settling at the foot of the bed. The banner was all but forgotten on the floor.
"Dorota packed your bag yesterday, your work schedule has been cleared and childcare is covered. Happy birthday, Blair." He leaned across his daughter kissing his wife.
Cordelia reached up pushing them apart. "No kissing."
Chuck pushed her back onto the pillows tickling the three year old. She started to giggle. He placed a kiss to her cheek. "I'm going to spend the next six days kissing your mommy senseless."
Blair removed the eye mask from her head and tossed it onto the bedside table. "Is this really happening?"
Chuck nodded looking at his wife. "It is. I'm assuming you'd like to shower before we leave or are you wearing your nightgown. Not that I'd object to that." He reached out fingering the thin, lace strap of the gown.
Suddenly the reality hit Blair. She was headed to Fiji with her husband, alone for six days. A smile spread across her face. "Thank you."
He kissed her again whispering against her lips, "You can thank me properly on the plane. Go get ready."
She pushed the covers back. "I need to call Dorota. I want to make sure she packed everything I'm going to need and more importantly everything that I want."
Chuck stood up picking his daughter up from the bed. "We're not bothering her this morning. She's been packing for you for the last twenty years. I think she's got it covered." He took her arm in his grasp. "Besides I plan on keeping you in your birthday suit for most of the trip anyway." He looked her up and down.
Blair rolled her eyes. "You wish." She gave him a quick kiss as she headed off to the bathroom.
"I don't wish, I know," he called after her.
Cordelia pushed her loose curls back off her face. "What's a birthday suit, Daddy? Is it pretty?"
"It's very pretty." He kissed his daughter's cheek reaching out for Henry's hand and led them out of the bedroom and down for breakfast.
Three days later and Blair's thirtieth birthday dawned with the most spectacular sunrise. She and Chuck had arrived on the private island and had immediately entered vacation mode. They had eaten amazing food, drank copious amounts of top shelf cocktails, swam and made love on a continuous loop.
Last night they had decided to move to the hilltop sleep-out bure. It was situated atop the highest point on the island with a fabulous view of the ocean. The bure itself was open walled with a thatched rustic roof and in the center was a large, canopied bed; which Blair was still asleep in.
Chuck had woken fifteen minutes earlier to the sun streaming in and warming his chest. He glanced over at his beautiful wife and decided that he had let her sleep long enough. She was lying on her stomach, naked. The sheet had slid down to her lower back leaving her silken skin exposed to his view. She had already gained some color from all their time in the sun and her skin was almost golden in hue.
He reached out with a single finger and traced along her spine before replacing it with his lips. He kissed a trail along the path his finger had just grazed. He pulled the sheet a bit lower exposing her bottom to his gaze. He placed a kiss to the small of her back before running his tongue along the underside of each butt cheek.
He squeezed her bottom once. God, he loved her ass.
He then kissed his way back up to her body. He could tell that she was awake at this point from the change in her breathing. He placed a kiss to her shoulder, slipping his leg between hers and pushing his erection against her hip.
"Happy birthday, beautiful," he whispered against her ear before placing a kiss there.
Blair moaned lifting her bottom a bit. Her hip rubbed against his hard dick. "Is that my birthday present?"
"One of many to come; pun intended," he chuckled against her shoulder. He bit down lightly leaving a light pink mark on her skin.
She slowly rolled onto her back, wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling him down to her. When she broke off the kiss she was breathless.
"Thank you for this trip. I couldn't envision a better way of spending my birthday." She kissed him again spreading her legs to accommodate him in the space between.
They made love slowly with the balmy breeze cooling their skin and the sound of the waves in their ears.
When they were finished Chuck pulled Blair into his arms. She laid her head on his chest releasing a long sigh. She was completely satisfied and content.
They laid there basking in the glow of the fabulous sex they had just had with nothing but the sounds of the waves and the soft chirping of the birds filling the room. Chuck's fingers were making gentle circles on Blair's back and she felt herself slowly begin to doze off.
Chuck leaned up kissing the top of Blair's head. He inhaled deeply breathing in the scent of her shampoo. They had taken a late night swim and she had showered right before bed. He squeezed her tightly.
Blair sighed before placing a kiss to his chest. "We should call the children before it gets much later."
Fiji was sixteen hours ahead of New York and when they had called the first night it was right before their bedtime and Eleanor, who had flown in to help out, had informed her daughter the next day that it had made Henry and Cordelia extremely excitable and they took an extra half hour to get to sleep. So Chuck and Blair had decided that calling first thing in the morning was better. That way the children had time to settle down before bed. Eleanor was extremely thankful for that.
Blair sat up wrapping the sheet around herself before reaching for Chuck's laptop. The cell service was surprisingly good on the island. Chuck sat next to her as she placed the call.
Within seconds Henry's face filled the screen. "Hello Mommy and Daddy!"
Blair smiled brightly. "Hello, Henry. How are you?"
Henry smiled back at his mother. "Good."
"How was school today?" Chuck asked.
Suddenly Cordelia's face appeared. "Mommy, I miss you." Her brown eyes were filled with tears.
Henry pushed at his sister. "I was talking to them first."
Blair sighed. "Henry, don't push your sister. Cor, it's easier if we talk to you one at a time. Is Grandmere there?"
Eleanor appeared at the edge of the frame. "Cordelia, come here. Let your brother speak first and then it will be your turn." She reached out picking up her granddaughter.
Blair smiled at Henry again. "So how was school?"
Henry went on for about five minutes telling them about school and what he had done at soccer practice. Then it was Cordelia's turn.
"Mommy, when are you coming home?"
"You have three more sleeps before we'll be back. Do you have the chart you and Dorota made?" Cordelia nodded. Blair asked her a few more questions before Eleanor took a seat next to her.
Ned was on her mother's lap and when he saw his parents he tried touching them through the screen. Blair felt tears began to fill her eyes. As much as she loved having this time alone with Chuck she was truly missing her children.
Chuck and Eleanor exchanged pleasantries before Cordelia butted in again. "I want you to come home, Mommy."
Chuck decided to change the subject. "Cor, do you realize that it's already Mommy's birthday here?"
Cordelia brightened. "It is?"
Chuck nodded. "It is. It's nine o'clock Tuesday morning here."
"Are you wearing your birthday suit, Mommy?"
Eleanor gasped, "Cordelia Bass, that is a very impolite thing to say! Where in the world did you learn about that?"
Cordelia glanced at her grandmother. "Daddy said it was what he wanted Mommy to wear on the trip."
Eleanor raised her eyebrows at Chuck through the monitor. "Really, Charles? She's three."
Chuck shrugged. "Sorry."
Eleanor shook her head sighing. "You two go and enjoy the day. Happy birthday, Blair."
"Thank you, Mother, and thank you for all the help."
"It's been nice having the time alone with my grandchildren." She turned to look back behind her calling Henry over. She made room for him. "Everyone say good bye to your parents."
The children all shouted and waved before the screen went blank. Eleanor was never one for the long good bye.
Blair shut the laptop and sniffled as she set the computer aside. Chuck reached out for her wrapping an arm around her shoulders.
"I miss them too." He kissed her cheek. "Do you wanna go home?" He would take her if she wanted that.
Blair looked at him in shock. "Absolutely not." She kissed him. "I'm enjoying having you all to myself way too much." She kissed him again. "Now, I'm going to freshen up and then I'd like to have some breakfast."
Chuck kissed her temple before releasing her. "Dawn should have it all set up at the beach."
She got up out of bed letting the sheet fall to the floor as she made her way to the bathroom.
Chuck didn't take his eyes off her gorgeous backside until it disappeared from his sight.
They had spent the day swimming, eating and relaxing. They had even taken an afternoon nap. They returned to the main bure where a beautiful dinner had been laid out for them by the pool.
As soon as the last dish was cleared Chuck stood up stepping over to her chair. He leaned down placing a kiss to her shoulder.
"I thought we'd have presents and champagne on the beach." He pulled her chair back as she got up.
"That sounds perfect." She was beaming. Few things made Blair happier than presents.
They made their way to the shore walking hand in hand. Blair gasped when she saw the beautiful lay out. There were candles and torches everywhere casting the blanket spread out on the sand in a beautiful light. Chuck led her over to the large blanket with large oversized pillows on it. He helped her down before joining her. He poured them each a glass of champagne.
He lifted his full glass staring at her in the candlelight. "Happy birthday, Blair. You have been the most wonderful thing to ever come into my life. Without you I'd be lost. Thank you for our life together. Thank you for our three beautiful children and thank you most of all for loving me."
A tear slipped down her cheek as they clinked their glasses together. "I love you." She leaned forward kissing his lips softly before taking a sip of her champagne.
She placed her glass on the tray and clapped her hands together. "Now presents."
He took a long swallow. "What? A trip to Fiji and me isn't enough."
She rolled her eyes. "Of course it is but your Chuck Bass and I know there's more."
He chuckled softly as he reached into the large wicker basket and pulled out a small beribboned box. "Most of your gifts are at home. We'll open them with the children when we get back." He handed her the box. "These were easy to bring with me."
She smiled brightly as she tugged at the ends of the ribbon untying the perfect bow. Tossing it aside she lifted the lid of the box finding a velvet bag nestled inside. She looked up at him eyebrows raised.
He swallowed the last of his champagne. "Go ahead and look inside."
She lifted the bag. It was heavy in her hand. Her brow wrinkled in confusion as she pulled the bag open and gasped. "Oh Chuck," she slowly tipped some of the contents into the palm of her hand. Out spilled several perfectly cut, perfectly matched three carat diamonds. She tilted her hand letting the candlelight catch the facets. It was like holding stars in her grasp.
"There are thirty matched stones in the bag. You can take them to Harry Winston's on our return and have them set into anything that your heart desires." He smiled softly as he watched her touch the stones in her palm.
After a minute she put them back in the bag and placed the bag back into the box. She was frightened of losing one. She then leaned forward kissing him.
"Thank you. I love them." She wrapped her arms around his neck. "I'm thinking they would make a beautiful tiara."
"Nothing more fitting for my queen." He kissed her.
As they parted the housekeeper approached with a three tiered vanilla buttercream cake aglow in thirty candles. She wished Blair a happy birthday as she set the cake on a stand in between Chuck and Blair.
Blair thanked her as she departed.
Chuck nodded towards the cake. "Make a wish."
Blair shrugged. "I already have everything I could ever want." She smiled at him as she searched his face aglow in the candles. She closed her eyes before inhaling deeply and blowing out all the candles.
As Blair searched in the basket for the cake knife and plates Chuck removed the candles. She cut them each a generous piece and Chuck refilled their glasses.
Blair groaned as she looked through the basket again. "They forgot cake forks."
Chuck picked up his plate shrugging and lifted the piece of confection up with his bare hands. "We don't need them." He took a large bite smiling at his wife.
Blair following his lead pulled a piece of the vanilla cake free placing it in her mouth. "Mmm," she moaned. "This is like heaven in my mouth." She closed her eyes as she swallowed another bite.
Chuck felt his dick harden as he watched her lick frosting from her fingers. He took one more bite before setting his plate aside, moving the cake stand and taking her plate from her near death grip.
Her brow wrinkled. "Hey, I wasn't finished with that."
He pushed her back onto the blanket. "I think you need a reminder of what real heaven in your mouth tastes like." He covered her lips with his and pushed his tongue pass her parted lips. She tasted like champagne and vanilla buttercream and it caused him to almost come in his pants.
She separated her mouth from his and kissed a trail to his ear pulling hard on his hair. "I guess wishes really do come true." She pulled his earlobe into her mouth sucking on it gently.
Chuck reached between them pulling the tie of her dress free and pushing it open. He was surprised to find her completely naked beneath the cotton fabric. He cupped her breast pinching her nipple.
"They certainly do," he whispered before dipping his head and replacing his fingers with his mouth.
Within minutes Chuck was buried deep inside of her. They made love frantically; moaning and grabbing at each other.
When they were finished they lay back spent and panting. Blair groaned as she tried to steady her breathing.
Chuck rested his head on his hand and stared down at her. She always looked so beautiful post sex. He reached out with a finger tracing her lips before leaning down and kissing her.
"I love you," he whispered against her mouth.
Blair slowly opened her eyes staring into his hazel ones. She searched his face; a face she loved more than any other in the world. She reached up cupping his cheek. "I love you too; so much."
He kissed her again before running his tongue along her chin and down to her stomach. He placed a kiss against her skin before sitting up.
"Let's go for a swim."
She moaned as he ran his hand between her legs and along her inner thigh. "I'm too tired. I swear I'm not going to be able to walk by the time we leave here."
"That's my plan," he chuckled softly as he picked up the bottle of champagne from the bucket. He lifted it to his lips taking a deep swallow. He glanced down at Blair; her eyes were closed again. He very slowly tipped the bottle of champagne letting a small stream trickle between her breasts.
She gasped and started to sit up before he pushed her back. He tipped the bottle once again this time directing the liquid over her left nipple before he quickly lowered his head taking it into his mouth and lapping up the sweet alcohol.
He took another long swallow from the bottle before kissing her soundly. He then stood up bending over and scooped her into his arms.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and laid her head onto his shoulder. She placed a kiss against his neck.
He walked them into the water slowly. It was a clear night with a nearly full moon. The water was illuminated and Chuck could see perfectly. When he was waist deep he slowly lowered down into the warm gentle waves.
Blair buried her toes into the soft, silky sand of the ocean's bottom and tightened her grip around Chuck's neck. She pressed her body fully against his before kissing him.
It wasn't long before he was carrying her back up the beach and to their bure where he laid her back on the bed and slowly made love to her.
It was several hours later, as Blair laid wrapped in her husband's arms listening to the sound of his breathing, that she realized turning thirty wasn't so bad after all; in fact, it was absolutely sublime.
