AN: Woo no more books after this! Yay! (Though nothing is actually going to happen in the real blood of Olympus, I'll try to keep it briefish) I'm sorry this feels a bit rushed, but if I didn't do it here next chapter would be incredibly short.
Reverted. That's how she felt. Reverted and miserable. They'd been in Africa for a week now, in which time nothing had changed. Leo was still gone, the gods know where. Not only reverted, she felt stuck. Nobody onboard knew how to do the repairs properly (she had tried). Jason was talking to the king of the wind or whoever, she couldn't care.
Currently she was venting her frustration on some skeletons. Amid everything, at least she hadn't lost any skill. She spent her days in the sun like this, fighting. She had a good excuse; she needed to practice with the sceptre. It was surprisingly easy, for the most part. It was just basic channelling.
She had much more energy recently than usual. It was as if her heart was beating faster. She was more alert, steadier, stronger. So that wasn't bad, but the violent thoughts were. The dream was recurring. Every second she thought about how easy it would be to kill. Just the click of the fingers. That was all. No evidence. Nobody would even have to know.
"Any word from the king?" She asked Jason after she'd destroyed them all.
He shook his head. "Every day, he calls for me later and later."
"We need to leave," she said. "Soon."
"You sense something?"
It was weird, but she could feel it. Energy. She could only guess, but Percy and Annabeth were near the doors. "They're close to the doors," she said finally. "They'll need us if they're going to make it through alive."
"All right," Jason said. "But if we can't repair the ship-"
"I promised I'd lead you to the House of Hades. One way or another, I will."
"You can't shadow travel with all of us," he said, "and it will take all of us to reach the Doors of Death."
"Then you've got to convince the king of the South Wind to help," she almost yelled.
"Look, Nicole, if you're angry about what happened in Croatia... I mean, if you want to talk about it-"
She had to stop herself from drawing her sword. "There's nothing to talk about."
"You told me you had a crush on my best friend! That's kind of a big deal-"
"That figlio di puttana hit me with an arrow! It did something to me!"
"But-"
"But nothing, Jason. Gods, this is all my fault! I was just provoking them!"
"Provoking who?"
"The fates," she admitted. "They just love to mess with me."
"Look whatever you think you did," he said slowly, "it wasn't your fault."
"Oh really? Well first I have to be born a child of Hades, which meant instant doom. Then they drag the misery that is my life on for a century, only to be subject to prophecies! Profezie cazzo! I mean, the one Rachel gave me is just signing my death sentence-"
"Rachel gave you a prophecy?!"
Oh Styx. She forgot about that. The ground cracked underneath her feet. "Leave me alone before something happens," she said under her breath.
He grabbed her arm. "If that happened, you need to tell us. You can trust me."
"Yeah," she said, "like you trust me."
"I do! Honestly! You've given me a lot of reasons not to, admittedly, but I do."
It felt like the world was shaking. "Jason," she almost growled, "I can't control it."
"Control wh-"
She tugged her arm free. "It's more complicated than you think."
"Nobody's going to judge you."
That was hilarious. "Oh really? That would be a first. You know what they used to call me? Witch. Demon. Spawn of the devil. Just face it, Jason Grace, you have no idea what I'm capable of." She walked straight into a shadow, not daring to look back.
~0o0~
Somehowshe ended up at the top of the city fortifications. Ohwell, she would be better off alone right now. She was stressed, that was all it was. There was a cafe in sight. Well, she may as well have a cool drink. Just because she didn't get cold didn't mean she actually was cold. She couldn't help but smile through the intense anger and relief when she saw him. "Leo Valdez where do you think you've been?"
"Uh..."
"Don't you even think about leaving again!" She stormed over. "I couldn't... I didn't know... gods, where were you?" She was on the brink of tears, for some reason.
"I missed you, too," he had the nerve to laugh.
"This," she said, poking his chest, "is not funny. I thought you were dead!"
"I'm very much alive, thank you for noticing."
She rolled her eyes before hugging him hard. "I mean it, Flamey." Was that... cinnamon? When she pulled away, she noticed something was different. He seemed older. Sadder. Like his hyperactive energy had just... gone. His looks had changed, too. Small things, like his hair had grown long. He almost looked rugged, and- no. She cursed herself. She would not think about how handsome he-"Where did you go?"
He blushed. "It's a long story."
"Jeez, you look like a kid who got kissed for the first-" he blushed deeper, "no way. You have to be kidding me. So we didn't have a clue whether you were dead or alive, were sick with worry, whilst you're living it up on Babe Island?"
"It wasn't Babe Island," he muttered. "It was Ogygia."
Her eyes widened. "As in, the Odyssey, Ogygia?"
He nodded. "I think so."
"Wait. You mean to tell me that you hooked up with a goddess?"
"I wouldn't call it hooking up-"
"Whatever." She joined him on the next seat, pretending not to be a tiny bit jealous. "I'll buy ice-cream, assuming that you're gonna tell me everything."
He smirked. "Deal."
Every. Excruciating. Detail. Just the way he said the name, Calypso, like it was an enchantment. She wanted to kick herself for feeling like that. She wanted him to be happy, right? Why was she even jealous? She really shouldn't be. It solved a lot, actually. She'd forget. Everything. What feelings?
It wasn't long before everyone else found them. Leo shot her a look like not a word. They got all caught up with each other, though Leo was being extremely vague. He seemed to regain some of his energy when he learned about Festus' reawakening. At least he hadn't changed changed.
She barely realised Hazel was still speaking. "-So then Jason harnessed the venti, and here we are."
Leo whistled. "Hot-air horses? Dang, Jason. So, basically, you held a bunch of gas together all the way to Malta and then you let it loose."
Jason frowned. "You know, it doesn't sound so heroic when you put it that way."
"Yeah, well. I'm an expert on hot air. I'm still wondering, why Malta? I just kind of ended up here on the raft, but was that a random thing, or-"
"Maybe because of this," Frank tapped a brochure he'd picked up. "Says here Malta was where Calypso lived."
Oh yay, her again. The colour drained from Leo's face. W-what, now?"
Frank shrugged. "According to this, her original home was an island called Gozo just north of here. Calypso's a Greek myth thingie, right?"
Leo looked like he wanted to punch him. "Ah, a Greek myth thingie!" Coach Hedge perked up. "Maybe we get to fight her! Do we get to fight her! 'Cause I'm ready."
"No," Leo murmured. "No, we don't have to fight her, Coach."
Piper frowned. "Leo, what's wrong? You look-"
"Nothing's wrong!" He shot to his feet alarmingly fast. "Hey, we should get going. We've got work to do!"
"But... where did you go?" Hazel asked. "Where did you get those clothes? How-"
"Jees, ladies!" Leo said. "I appreciate the concern, but I don't need two extra moms!"
Piper smiled, trying to hide concern. "Okay, but-"
"Ships to fix!" Leo said. "Festus to check" Earth goddesses to punch in the face! What are we waiting for? Leo's back!" He grinned, but should tell he wasn't right. Jeez, he knew this girl for, what, a week?
Jason also got up and clapped him on the shoulder. "Leo's right. We should get going."
Just as everyone was finishing their drinks, Hazel gasped. "Guys..." She pointed at the horizon, where a streak of dark flashed through the sky.
"I don't see anything," Coach Hedge grumbled.
"Me neither," Piper said.
"That can't be..." Nicole muttered. "Greece is still hundreds of miles away."
It flashed again. "You think it's Epirus?" Jason asked.
Nicole nodded solemnly. "The House of Hades is open for business." She looked at Hazel for confirmation, to which she nodded.
"It's begun," she said.
"What has?" Leo asked.
Another flash. Hazels' usual bright and shimmering eyes turned menacing. "Gaia's final push. The Doors of Death are working overtime. Her forces are entering the mortal world en masse."
"We'll never make it," Nicole said. "By the time we arrive, they'll be too many monsters to fight."
Jason seemed filled with determination. "We'll defeat them. And we'll make it there fast. We've got Leo back. He'll give us the speed we need." He turned to face him. "Or is that just hot air?"
Leo grinned. "Time to fly, boys and girls. Uncle Leo's still got a few tricks up his sleeves!"
Everyone rushed to leave, but before she could, she lurched over. Her heart was hammering painfully. She clutched her chest, willing the pain to stop. It didn't.
"N-Nicole?" Leo asked.
"They've reached the heart," she said through heavy breaths.
"Are you going to be okay?"
She winced and nodded. "We need to leave. And fast."
~0o0~
She sat at the foremast, trying to shut the pain out. It didn't work well; they were just getting closer and closer to the centre. It burned so much she could've cried, but she didn't. She wouldn't allow them, whoever, the satisfaction. "There," she shouted, pointing at a green river that was snaking through the hills. "Manoeuvre us that way. We're close to the temple. Very close."
She needed to concentrate on her breathing. Yes, that was it. In and out, in and out. She needed for the pain to subside. It had to. This was her domain. Where she needed to be useful in a fight. Hiding wouldn't help. She climbed down from the mast, only to see more lightening.
A few hundred meters away were a bunch of ruins on a hill. They didn't look like much, but it was unmistakeable what they were. "The Necromanteion," she said. "The House of Hades."
Piper hugged her arms as if she was cold. "I feel vulnerable floating up here like this. Couldn't we set down in the river?"
Bad idea. "I wouldn't." Hazel said. "That's the River Acheron." For once, something Tartarus related didn't send her into hideous flashbacks, though she felt the pain again momentarily. She wasn't sure if that was a good or a bad thing.
Jason squinted. "I thought the Acheron was in the Underworld."
"It is," Hazel said. "But its headwaters are in the mortal world. That river below us? Eventually it flows underground, straight into the realm of Pluto- er, Hades. Landing a demigod ship in those waters-"
"Yeah, let's stay up here," Leo decided. "I don't want any zombie water on my hull."
Nicole raised the sceptre, admiring its light. "So, uh, Nicole..." Frank began, "have you learned to use that thing?"
"We'll find out," she said, focusing on the ruins. "I don't intend to try until I have to. The Doors of Death are already working overtime bringing in Gaia's monsters/ Any more activity raising the dead and the Doors might shatter permanently, leaving a rip in the mortal world that can't be closed." Well, that and the fact that if she even had the strength to use it, she'd prefer to save it.
Coach Hedge grunted. "I hate rips in the world. Let's go bust some monster heads."
"Coach," Frank said, "you should stay on board, cover us with the ballistae."
Coach Hedge frowned. "Stay behind? Me? I'm your best soldier!"
"We might need air support," Frank said. "Like we did in Rome. You saved our braccae."
His expression changed into a sort of relief. "Well..." he grumbled, "I supposed somebody's got to save your braccae."
Jason clapped him on the shoulder. "So that's settled. Everybody else- let's get to the ruins. Time to crash Gaia's party."
Nicole ended up leading to way. She had to bite her lip so hard she drew blood to distract her from the pain. Finally they reached a stone doorway which led into the side of the hill. She turned and faced everyone. "From here, it gets tough."
"Sweet," Leo said. "Cause so far I've totally been pulling my punches."
For once, she wasn't in the mood for his jokes. "We'll see how long you keep your sense of humour. Remember, this is where pilgrims came to commune with dead ancestors. Underground, you may see things that are hard to look at, or hear voices trying to lead you astray in the tunnels. Frank, do you have the barley cakes?"
"What?" Frank sounded confused.
"I've got the cakes," Hazel said, pulling them out.
"Eat up," Nicole advised. She almost gagged on it herself. It was disgusting. "Okay," she said, chocking the last of it down. "That should protect us from the poison."
"Poison?" Leo asked. "Did I miss the poison? 'Cause I love poison."
"Soon enough," Nicole promised. "Just stick close together, and maybe we can avoid getting lost or going insane."
They walked down the tunnel in a spiral, keeping within the distance of breath. "This wasn't a part of the temple," Hazel whispered. "This was... the basement for a manor house, built in later Greek times."
"A manor house?" Frank asked. "Please don't tell me we're in the wrong place."
"The House of Hades in below us," Nicole said. "But Hazel's right, these upper levels are much newer. When the archaeologists first excavated this sight, they thought they'd found the Necromanteion. Then they realised the ruins were too recent, so they decided it was the wrong spot. They were right the first time. They just didn't dig deep enough."
They turned to corner and stopped. The tunnel ended just in front of them. "A cave-in?" Jason asked.
"A test," Nicole replied. "Hazel, would you do the honours?"
She stepped forward and simply touched the boulder, which crumbled to dust. The tunnel shuddered, like it was going to collapse. Then it stopped. More stairs appeared. They descended further, looking at the paintings of black cattle.
"I really don't like cows," Piper muttered.
"Agreed," Frank said.
"Those are the cattle of Hades," Nicole said. "It's just a symbol of-"
"Look." Frank pointed.
A golden chalice gleamed in front of them, filled with green liquid. And not nice green, like Percy's eyes, either. Muddy-dark green.
"Hooray," Leo said half-heartedly. "I suppose that's our poison."
Nicole picked up the chalice. "We're standing at the ancient entrance of the Necromanteion. Odysseus came here, and dozens of other heroes, seeking advice from the dead."
"Did the dead advise them to leave immediately?" Leo asked.
"I would be fine with that," Piper admitted.
She took a drink from the chalice. It tasted like sour apples. She offered it to Jason. "You asked me earlier about trust. Well, here you go, son of Jupiter. How much do you trust me?"
To her surprise, he took a sip from it immediately. Everyone passed it round like a session of show-and-tell. When they were done, she nodded. "Congratulations. Assuming the poison doesn't kill us, we should be able to make our way through the Necromanteion's first level."
"Just the first level?" Piper asked.
Nicole turned to Hazel. "After you, sister."
They travelled and travelled, every step getting harder. She was dizzy from a mixture of heart pain and poison. Hazel was seriously impressive, leading them. Nicole just felt, well, lost. She could barely talk when Hazel stopped them.
"Wait here, everybody." She stepped into a room for about half a minute before returning. "Scary room ahead," she warned, "don't panic."
"Those two things don't go together," Leo murmured, but followed her into the cavern.
It was a circular room, filled with arches that led to the gods know where. The roof, if it was there, disappeared into the darkness. Every slight sound, even that of breathing, echoed. Something felt wrong.
"Touch nothing," Hazel said.
"Wasn't planning on it," Leo muttered.
Jason scanned the room. "Which way now?"
Nicole felt bad. "This should be the room where the priests invoked the most powerful spirits. One of these passages leads deeper into the temple, to the third level and the altar of Hades himself. But which-"
"That one." Frank pointed at a random arch.
Hazel frowned. "Why that one?"
"You don't see the ghost?" Frank asked. Had he actually gone insane?
"Ghost?" Nicole asked.
The floor started to shake. "We need to get to that exit," Frank said. "Now!"
Hazel lunged forwards to stop him. "Wait, Frank! This floor is not stable, and underneath... well, I'm not quite sure what's underneath. I need to scout a safe path."
"Hurry, then," he urged.
Hazel and Frank took the lead, followed by Leo so he could provide light. She walked slightly behind, freaked out that Frank was seeing things. He had heard voices earlier, but seeing ghosts? Weird. Hundreds of roars from the monsters echoed from every direction.
"Hazel. Don't stop!" Nicole ordered, pulling the sceptre as they entered the cavern. Some Earthborn threw rocks at Frank, Leo and Hazel, which they dodged and ran into a tunnel. Frank was the only one who remained, but there was a chasm now separating them. Most of the monsters were on the other side, but she, Jason and Piper were surrounded by hellhounds and Cyclopes.
"Nicole!" Frank yelled. "The sceptre."
It was worth a try. She raised the sceptre, and an entire legion of ghosts appeared. Well, that was handy. They weren't like her skeletons, though. They were zombie like, confused. Jason started yelling in Latin, presumably giving them orders, but they didn't obey.
A volley of rocks slammed into the tunnel where Hazel and Leo were, cutting them off. She didn't have time to worry about that, the monsters were descending on them thick and fast. She had somehow managed to unsheathe her sword and was fighting the monsters with it, trying to keep a hold of the sceptre with the other. Since the ghosts wouldn't obey Jason, she even tried to give them orders, but they wouldn't listen.
Frank made his way over, the ghosts obeying him, for some reason. They parted as if he were the Queen of Sheba.
"Stupid ghosts!" Nicole shouted, getting frustrated.
"They won't listen!" Jason agreed.
"Cohorts- lock shields!" Frank yelled. The zombies around him got into formation.
"Frank, how did you do that?" Jason yelled.
Frank looked weak, but he tried to hide it. "I'm the ranking Roman officer. They- uh, they don't recognise you. Sorry."
Jason didn't sound surprised. "How can we help?"
A gryphon soared over their heads, which Nicole gave a smack with the sceptre.
Frank said something in Latin, and about twenty or so of the zombies obeyed. "My rank," he said.
"All these monsters are rank!" Piper yelled.
"No," Frank said. "I'm only a centurion."
Jason cursed. "He means he can't control a whole legion. He's not of high enough rank."
Nicole swung her sword at another gryphon. "Well, then, promote him!"
"Frank Zhang!" Jason shouted. "I, Jason Grace, praetor of the Twelfth Legion Fulminata, give you my final order: I resign my post and give you emergency field promotion to praetor, with the full powers of that rank. Take command of this legion!"
With that, Frank started to yell orders again in Latin and all the ghosts obeyed. Soon they were launching a full on attack. Nicole laughed with disbelief at the sight. "That's more like it," she said. "Let's turn this tide!"
She had never enjoyed a battle this much. It was awesome, winning so easily. "Nicole," Frank said a while later, "keep trying to raise the dead. We need more numbers."
"On it." She lifted the sceptre, willing more ghosts to join the fight. It went on like that. Like the dead were limitless. The only time she'd seen so many summoned was in the Second Titan War. More and more came. Eventually the enemy ran out of forces. She waded through the Earthborn, slashing them with her sword. That was it. The battle was over.
"Frank," Jason said, "you're on fire." Sure enough, his trousers were smouldering. He patted them down.
Nicole cleared her throat. "Uh... you also have an arrow sticking through your arm."
"I know." He snapped off the point and pulled the rest out. "I'll be fine."
Piper tended to his wound. "Frank, you were amazing. Completely terrifying, but amazing."
Nicole held up th3e sceptre. "The dead won't stay much longer, now that the battle is over."
Frank faced his troops. "Legion." They snapped to attention. "You fought well, now you may rest. Dismissed." The crumbled into bones at his feet. "Hazel and Leo," he said. "We need to find them."
Suddenly there was pain, shattering pain. Everywhere. She fell down, completely paralysed.
"-Maybe she can feel the doors," someone said.
"Jason, you need to carry her."
"Do we have Ambrosia?"
She was almost glad she couldn't move. Otherwise she would be screaming in agony. Maybe... maybe the link worked both ways.
~0o0~
They were walking down a narrow pathway when she regained motion. Whatever had happened, it was over now. She tried to control her breathing, bit it came out erratic instead. It took her about five minutes to convince Jason he could put her down.
A couple of minutes later, a doorway appeared in front of them. Okay, she had to be ready. She drew her sword, following Jason, Piper and Frank inside. Hazel was inside, fighting what looked like a bunch of darkness.
"Sorry we're late," Jason said. "Is this the guy who needs killing?"
They attacked from every direction. Nicole slashed at his feet, absorbing the darkness with her sword. That was when she noticed the bodies in the corner. Every part of her tried to resist, but her impulses were ruling her. She rushed over to Percy's unconscious body. Annabeth, who looked completely shaken up, was just standing.
Nicole winced before tossing Annabeth her Stygian blade. "I'll take care of him. Help them. Think absorb."
Annabeth nodded mindlessly before joining the fight.
"Percy," she whispered softly. "Wake up for me. I know you're in there."
He moaned before blinking. "Nicole?"
She smiled. "I'm here." He choked, trying to sit up. She had to literally hold him like a child in a sitting position. She hugged him close, unexplainable tears falling down her face. "I'm sorry."
"For what?" He managed.
"For not being fast enough," she sniffed.
"It wasn't-"
She shushed him. "You and Annabeth aren't, like, together, are you?"
He managed a look of confusion. "What kind of question is-"
She interrupted him with a kiss, long and gentle, but just what she missed. "Just double checking."
Somebody cleared their throat. Frank. "Um, guys..."
"Dude." Jason gave him a bear hug when he'd managed to stand.
"Back from Tartarus!" Leo whooped. "That's my peeps!"
Annabeth just had enough time to throw Nicole back her sword before being swept into a hug by Piper.
Hazel turned and smiled at Nicole. She kissed her little sister's forehead. "The ghosts were right. Only one of us made it to the Doors of Death. You... you would have made dad proud."
Hazel's hand cupped her face. "You look the happiest I've seen you for weeks."
She glanced at Percy. "Yeah, I guess I am."
The ceiling shuddered. "We've got to get out of here," Jason said. "Uh, Frank...?"
He shook his head. "I think one favour from the dead is all I can manage today."
"Wait, what?" Hazel asked.
Piper raised an eyebrow. "Your unbelievable boyfriend called in a favour as a child of Mars. He summoned the spirits of some dead warriors, made them lead us here through... um, well, I'm not sure, actually. The passages of the dead? All I know is that it was very, very dark."
A skeleton popped out of the wall to their left. "We'll have to shadow travel," Hazel said.
Nicole winced at the thought. "Hazel, seven people? I'm really not sure I can-"
"I'll help you," she said confidently.
Another section of the ceiling fell. There was no time for debate. ""Everyone, grab hands!" She yelled and they dissolved into a shadow.
They appeared on the same hillside as earlier, overlooking the river. She was holding onto Percy's hand for dear life, scared of what would happen if she let go. Well, he wasn't exactly complaining. They sat in a circle, recounting their tales. She was slightly worried at the way Percy's eyes changed when Tartarus was mentioned, but she knew she'd been a lot worse.
The Argo II started to sale closer. "About time!" Coach Hedge yelled down. "What tool you so long, cupcakes? You kept your visitor waiting!"
"Visitor?" Hazel murmured.
Next to Coach Hedge, there was a girl with dark hair and wearing a purple cape. Reyna.
~0o0~
She felt sorry for the girl. All that way for her most trusted friend to die? That was harsh. They were sat, having a picnic. She tuned out to most of it, the blood still roaring in her ears from earlier. They were just discussing their next mission, Olympus. She knew in her heart that it was time to leave, so when they were discussing the statue...
"-No Frank Zhang," Reyna was replying to his offer to leave. "I hope we will work side by side in the future, but for now your place is with the crew of this ship. You are one of the seven of the prophecy."
"I'm not," Nicole said.
"No," Leo and Percy said at the same time.
Hazel set down her fork. "Nicole-"
"I'll go with Reyna," she said. "I can transport the statue with shadow travel."
Percy gulped. "You said once that shadow travel was unreliable, that sometimes you ended up in China-"
"That was a year ago," she said, not meaning for it to sound as cold as it did. "I'm stronger now. Besides, Tartarus changed me."
"Nicole," Jason said, "we're not questioning your power. We just want to make sure you don't kill yourself trying."
"I can do it," she insisted. "I'll make short jumps- a few hundred miles each time. It's true, after each jump I won't be in any shape to fend off monsters. I'll need Reyna to defend me and the statue."
"Any objections?" Reyna asked. Nobody answered. "Very well. I see no better option. But there will be many monster attacks. I would feel better taking a third person. That's the optimal number for a quest."
"Coach Hedge," Frank said instantly.
Percy stared at him. "Uh, what, Frank?"
"The coach is the best choice," Frank said. "The only choice. He's a good fighter. He's a certified protector. He'll get the job done."
"A faun," Reyna said.
"Satyr!" He barked. "And, yeah, I'll go. Besides, when you get to Camp Half Blood, you'll need somebody with connections and diplomatic skills to keep the Greeks from attacking you. Just let me make a call- er, I mean, get my baseball bat."
Nicole rose once he'd left. "I should go, too, and rest before the first passage. We'll meet at the statue at sunset." She walked away, hopping Hypnos would have mercy on her.
She was tying knots on the Athena statue when he snuck up behind her. He finished the sheep-shear or whatever it was called that she was attempting to tie before kissing her on the cheek. "You know," she said, turning slowly to face him. "That's going to take some getting used to."
He looked down at the ground, as if contemplating something. "About that..."
She raised an eyebrow. "Yes?"
"I uh... you know, really like you and... Well, when we were in Tartarus I, um," he blushed.
She shook her head. "Are you trying to ask me out?"
"Well," he blushed deeper.
"Because that sounds way too normal for us..."
He bit his lip, still staring at the ground. "I-"
"But, if you were, hypothetically of course, how could I say anything else but yes?"
He smiled and kissed her, which was much better than earlier considering he wasn't delusional. That was until, of course, Reyna appeared behind them, clearing her throat. "Are you ready to leave?"
She pulled away. "Yeah." She turned to Percy. "Hey, I'll miss you."
He pouted. "Stay alive, will you?"
She smiled. "I'll try my very hardest." He let her go. She needed to get this out. "Oh, by the way, we got drunkenly married in Vegas. Okay, bye!" She pecked him on the lips before he could say anything (not that he could had he been given ten minutes, considering the way he was standing frozen in shock). With that, she, Reyna and Coach Hedge dissolved into the shadows.
