Days of Future Resurrection 32-It's Dangerous to go Alone
"We're trapped." Kenji said.
"Nonsense!" Akihiro yelled as ducking underneath a barrage of bullets into cover.
"She broke the Genjutsu. I think it's safe to say we are done for." Isao said.
"Isao, where is your sense of never giving up?" Akihiro asked.
"You're time to die is now, Uchiha! COME ON OUT BEFORE YOU MAKE ME ANGRY!" Maria screamed.
"Her comrades are still under the Genjutsu though." Akihiro said.
"I don't think this gun maniac would have it any other way." Kenji said as he peeked his eyes above the desk he was taking cover behind. "Something is way off. I can feel it. What is it? The air seems rather...different?" Kenji thought. "Guys does it smell odd up here?" Kenji asked.
"What do you mean, Kenji?" Isao asked.
"Akihiro, would you distract her while I explain something to Isao?" Kenji asked politely.
"Sure thing!" Akihiro smiled with glee as he started to combine handsigns. "Lion Speed!" Akihiro yelled. "The thing about this jutsu and others like it, is that it replaces my physical strength with speed. I'm as fast as a Lion, but I don't hit very hard. How come it seems like she has infinite ammo?" Akihiro asked himself. Akihiro leapt over the desk and charged towards Maria. Maria fired a shot at Akihiro. Akihiro saw the bullet coming in advance with his Sharingan and moved out of the way. Another bullet was fired and another bullet missed.
"Isao, I think we are also under a Genjutsu." Kenji said.
"I sensed it too." Isao replied.
"I think her clones had a little bit more than sand to them." Kenji said.
"What makes you say that?" Isao asked.
"Well I didn't notice anything unusual until the clones were destroyed. When clones get destroyed, have you ever seen mist come from what's left of them?" Kenji asked.
"No." Isao replied.
"Have you ever seen mist come out of sand in general?" Kenji asked.
"No." Isao said again.
"Exactly." Kenji said. "I can't pinpoint what kind of Genjutsu she has used though. That's why I sent Akihiro out there." Kenji said. Kenji stared at Akihiro's movements. Akihiro moved behind Maria with incredible speed and kicked her. "This reminds me of Izanagi. We are fighting, but at the same time we are not. We are in her mind, but the others are still in our Genjutsu. At least so we hope." Kenji thought. Akihiro's kick knocked Maira across the room. "That shouldn't have happened." Akihiro thought. "That's exactly what I was looking for." Kenji thought. "Akihiro, get back over here!" Kenji yelled.
"You saw it too?" Isao asked.
"Of course. He used the Lion Speed to move fast. But anyone that knows about the Lion Speed would also know that it removes almost all of the strength from a physical attack." Kenji said.
"That shouldn't have happened." Akihiro said.
"I'm surprised you noticed anything." Isao said.
"Look, punk! I'm as smart as you and you know it!" Akihiro yelled.
"I didn't realize that any intelligent thought made it to your brain. Sorry, but I thought I needed to clarify." Isao replied.
"Now is not the time for this, you two." Kenji said.
"How do we get out of this, Kenji?" Akihiro asked.
"I don't know. Before we left, we were supposed to learn how to get out of any Genjutsu but, we never got around to it." Kenji said.
"I need time to think. It seems that as long as she doesn't know the parameters of any jutsu we use, then we can use anything and make it have any effect we want." Isao said.
"Who made you in charge?" Akihiro asked.
"I'm not dealing with this! You heard him, go do it!" Kenji yelled.
"Do what?" Akihiro asked.
"Anything that she doesn't know." Kenji said. With that, Akihiro leapt over and used another kick from Lion Speed on Maria. The kick sent her across the room again.
"Kenji, I have a theory. Care to listen to it?" Isao asked.
"Yes?" Kenji replied.
"I think that the weakness of the Genjutsu is awareness. If my theory is correct, then we can get out of here by making her aware that we know this is a Genjutsu. We can't just tell her though." Isao said.
"Why not?" Kenji asked.
"Because, I don't think it is that simple." Isao began. "I think that we need to prove that we know it is a Genjutsu." Isao said.
"And you propose that, how?" Kenji asked.
"Maria, this Genjutsu is working on them?" Ayumu asked.
"Yes." Maria replied.
"Maria, you were born with very little chakra. This technique you use is very ingenious." Izumi said with a smile.
"It is simple. I charge chakra for a long time, but only long enough to make sand clones. When I have a chakra pool that large, I craft Genjutsu gas that releases when the clones are destroyed. They are all under my Genjutsu." Maria said.
"But what I want to know is why it isn't affecting us?" Katsuo asked.
"Truth is, once that gas is out, anyone can take control of the Genjutsu." Maria explained. "Whoever releases chakra once the gas is admitted becomes the user of the Genjutsu. The user must be looking at their target's eyes, though." Maria finished explaining.
"These Uchiha men are, decent at best. That cute one from the leaf was really a stunner though." Shion thought as she watched the battle from outside the building. "Can these Uchiha men turn this around though?"
"Isao we've tried what you suggested and it didn't work. Nothing is going right." Akihiro said.
"YOU COME UP WITH A BETTER IDEA!" Isao screamed.
"Is she pointing a gun at those Uchiha? That is going to be a no!" Shion thought. "Time to die." Maria thought as she moved her finger onto the trigger of her gun.
"There is no reason to kill them, Maria." Katsuo said.
"But they must die. They are an injustice to the world." Maria laughed and started smiling. With that laugh, the window broke, and a shuriken of Blossom Petals rained through the building. Maria remained unmoving towards Kenji maintaining eye contact, when a petal came in front of her face. It was so close to her face that for a brief moment, the petal was all that she could see. "THE GENJUTSU!" Maria struggled not to scream.
"The Genjutsu looks like it is broken." Isao said.
"I think it is time we kick some sandy ass!" Akihiro yelled.
"It seems that none of our theories were right." Kenji said.
"I WILL KILL ALL OF YOU!" Maira screamed loud enough to crack glass.
"Maria, it's over!" Ayumu yelled.
"We haven't even really fought yet!" Maria yelled.
"I know we haven't but these Uchiha were smart enough to get backup! We don't know what we are facing!" Ayumu yelled. Katuso grabbed Maria by the hair and started running. Izumi and Ayumu followed.
"GET BACK HERE!" Akihiro yelled.
"Get over it, Akihiro." Kenji replied.
"We'll get them another day." Isao said.
"Who is this backup though?" Akihiro asked.
"Whoever it is, we should thank them." Isao said.
"I figured you would have thought it would be dishonorable." Kenji said.
"This whole Dome is dishonorable. People have been dying from battle all over the place but has anyone been held accountable yet?" Isao asked.
"Maybe the higher ups told Id to calm down and let things run their course." Akihiro said.
"Maybe, just maybe." Isao said while looking out the window. "That is the prettiest pink hair I have ever seen." Isao thought, catching a glimpse of a woman.
"The Jashin Cult is going to be a pain." Shion said in her mind.
"Are they going to be so much of a problem that they will have to be sealed up?" a voice replied.
"I have a feeling that they are planning something big right now." Shion replied.
"And if they can only be killed by their souls being removed." another voice began.
"That's right, Namikaze Naomi." a voice followed.
"Is Naomi going to be joining in this mission?" Shion asked.
"She will. Namoi, please make your way to Shion and do what she asks you to." a voice commanded.
"With pleasure." Naomi replied.
