Did you know that I've been working on this story for a little over three years? This is probably the most successful story I've ever written.
Anyway, If you are reading this, I have a favor. I am writing an original story on Wattpad. It's called "The Akuma's Game" and It's written by Hecate1412. If you have the time, please check it out. I'd love to get more people to read it.
Enjoy
I wasn't entirely sure what I was expecting when I first saw Blair walking up. Tyler, Conley, and I were taking on the guards easily. They'd both been hit by a taser a few times, but I'd been lucky enough to avoid them. Well, lucky may not be the right
word. I think Tyler may have taken a few hits for me, and the way he screamed makes me fully aware that getting hit by one of those would be an instant KO for me.
For the most part we took out the first round of guards with ease. Round two wasn't difficult either, but round three…the round three's guards straight up retreated before they even made any contact. It didn't take long for us to see why. Stalking down
the corridor towards us was none other than the girl we came her to save.
"Blair!" I called, ready to run to her side, but Tyler stopped me. He threw me back right as electricity arched through the air and hit him dead on. He stumbled back, static running around his body before fading from existence.
"That is not Blair." He said, dragging me back to my feet. "I don't know what they did to her, but that's not her, at least, not completely."
"What are you talking about?" I asked.
"They got to her," Conley added, stepping up beside Tyler. "Whatever they did to me, they did to her."
"Which means what?" I asked. "They brainwashed her? They're controlling her?"
"They altered her memories, probably," Conley explained. "They've done that with other half-bloods before, the ones who are difficult to control. She's Blair in every way, shape, and form, but they changed something in her memories, or convinced her of
something, that would cause her to believe she was on Father's side."
"That would explain why she attacked us on sight." Tyler noted keeping a close eye on his sister. She had stopped about ten feet away, but she didn't look happy.
"Why would you protect him?" Blair scowled, staring down Tyler. "He took you!" Yeah, she wasn't happy. I'd seen what Blair was capable of while angry, and I wasn't sure I liked our odds against her in that mode. I wasn't sure I liked our odds against
her period.
"Who took me?" Tyler asked.
"Him!" She glared at me. "Zak took you, and now I'm bringing you back."
"Blair you're confused."
"Am I?"
"Yes!" Tyler yelled. "Zak didn't take me! Technically you're the one who took Zak, and Conley's sister is the one who took you!"
"Astrid? You think Astrid would be capable of taking me anywhere? She tried to face me in battle for the Alpha position, and was thoroughly destroyed."
"What did you do to my sister?" Conley yelled.
"She showed me my place." There was Astrid, walking up beside Blair looking perfectly healthy and definitely not 'thoroughly destroyed.'
"Dang. The healers here are impressive." Blair said looking over to Astrid. "Seriously, you were down for the count five minutes ago."
"Maybe I'm just sturdy."
"Maybe you're just stubborn."
"Aren't they the same?"
"No."
"Are you sure?"
"Astrid, shut up."
"Yes Ma 'me." The two girls turned back to us, and I instantly felt more uncertain about our situation. While there may have been a clear difference in power between the two, Astrid and Blair had similar mind set. They both stood at a distance watching
us, calculating what they wanted to do and how they thought we would react.
"Looks like both our brothers were taken," Blair said. "We have a common goal."
"Are you asking me to team up with you?" Astrid probed.
"I'm expecting you to," Blair ordered. "While your power is nothing compared to mine, you are still far more powerful than all the other wannabe alpha's I had to fight."
"Is that supposed to be a compliment?"
"Are you two done bickering or can we knock you out and haul ass out of this place?" Tyler asked, "because I don't want to be here any longer than I need to be."
"Why would you want to leave? You're finally home. Hell, I don't think I'm allowed to let any of you leave. Conley the traitor, Tyler the runaway, and Zak the kidnapper. Father says I'm to apprehend all of you, and If I'm successful—and let's be real
here, I'm going to be successful—Then father swore not to hurt Tyler or Francis."
"Francis is here?" I asked. "Like, in this building?"
"Of course he is, unless you're planning on kidnapping him as well!"
"I haven't kidnapped anyone!" I yelled.
"He's lying," Astrid assured. "Francis ran away, and you and Tyler went to retrieve him. While you were gone, Zak jumped you three. You were knocked out trying to protect Francis, and Zak managed to kidnap Tyler. You both belong here."
"She's Lying!" Tyler yelled.
"No, I don't think she is." Blair replied. "I think Zak did something to you. You're part Cryptid, Tyler, and Zak controls cryptids."
"What am I going to have to do to knock some sense into you?"
"Knock some sense into me? I think this will be going the other way around." She growled. Blair looked ready to pounce, as did Tyler. Unfortunately, I didn't think this was going to be a simple family feud. Blair made the first move, lunging at Tyler
with all the speed and quickness of a [insert fast cryptid here]. Tyler countered easily, although he flinched at the contact. I think those shots of electricity were starting to get to him, and I don't think he was as resistant as Blair was.
"Wait, stop!" Conley tried to intervene, but his sister blocked his way.
"Oh no," She chimed. "You and I are going to exchange some words, dear brother." Conley and Astrid went off into their own to duke it out, while Tyler and Blair continued their fight. It was like the battle of the twins, but this battle wouldn't end well
for anyone.
I've seen Blair fight before, but I've never seen her fight another half-blood. It was unlike anything I'd ever seen, and I've seen a lot as the child of Secret Scientists. The raw power that flashed before my eye was indescribable. It was like two gods
going to war. Lightning flashed, and force shook the very foundations of the building. I was worried the walls would cave in if they were hit hard enough, and with the amount of power both alphas were giving off, it wouldn't take many hits for it
to happen.
"Tyler! Blair!" I yelled. This needed to stop. They were family. They shouldn't be fighting especially since one of them was confused, and they were ready to seriously maim the other in order to protect them from their perceived enemy. Off to my right,
Tyler cussed as he hit Blair a little too hard and launched her back against the wall. She dropped to the floor motionless, but only briefly.
"Oh, shit…" Conley had stopped fighting to stare in Blair's direction, Astrid had done the same. I hadn't been able to sense Blair's rage before, but now. "Shit!" Tyler cussed, "Blair, please don't flip out!"
"That's inevitable now." I said as Blair crawled back to her feet. "Probably should have thought before launching her into the wall." You know, I think I've seriously downplayed Blair's rage. Medusa was able to turn people to stone with one look. Blair
could turn you to stone just by being in close proximity with you. I don't think it mattered whether you were a half-blood, or a normal human being, you would be able to pick up on Blair's emotions. She'll hit the peak of her rage, and then there
will be a rocket waiting to launch her into the stratosphere.
"Zak, I think you need to step in," Tyler called stepping away from his sister
"Blair's only half Cryptid, and that anger is one hundred percent human." I warned. "I don't think I can do anything."
"You're gonna have to try, because I don't think I've ever seen her so…"
"Ready to murder you without a second thought mad?"
"Yeah." He muttered.
"I wouldn't be able to focus my powers well enough."
"You have to try."
"If I try what I'm thinking, then my powers gonna hit you and Conley as well."
"That's okay."
"No, Tyler. It's going to hit you like a train, and it's probably going to be painful."
"Better than dead."
"You don't think she'd actually go that far."
"Do you really want to risk it?" We both glanced at Blair and silent understanding passing between us. "Conley, Brace for impact!" Tyler yelled.
"What?" Tyler didn't get the chance to explain before I reached out with my power. I didn't reach out, I unleashed a floodgate. My power poured out into the room with all the force of a great typhoon. I heard Conley yell first, followed by Astrid and
both of them sunk to their knees. Tyler resisted more than the younger siblings, and was at least still standing, but I knew that wouldn't last much longer. Blair hardly appeared effected. I tried to focus my powers on her, but I was out of practice.
Blair stared at me, tilting her head curiously.
"Zak Saturday," she hummed, "Did you really think that would work?" Yup. That anger was one hundred percent human, but if I could just—
Astrid screamed somewhere else and dropped to the ground unconscious; Conley followed suit soon after.
"You need to calm down, Blair." I ordered. She took a deep breath.
"You need to leave. You've caused enough problems."
"You're confused. Whoever took youmessed with your mind."
"Like you're trying to do right now?" she hissed. I was having an effect. She tried to hide it, but it was becoming easier to see. Her and her cryptid half were one in the same, having control of one gave me more access to her than one would expect. It
also gave me access to her memories.
"I'm showing you the truth." I told her.
"No you're—tch." She grabbed her head, "Zak, stop!"
"No. Not until you remember."
"Zak!" She yelled dropping to her knees. I could see all her memories—all her false memories. They were thorough. I wondered how someone had even been able to plant them. Blair was one of the most stubborn people I knew, she would have put up a fight
unless—
"I would stop if I were you." Something sharp pressed against my back and I instantly recognized the voice.
"She did mention you were here," I mumbled, wishing anyone else was the one holding a knife to my back.
"Zak, release her." Francis ordered.
"No."
"So you'd rather me run you through?"
"You're being manipulated to, Francis. Even worse, you're being manipulated in order to better manipulate Blair. You realize she would do almost anything for you, right?"
"And I'll do what I need to protect her."
"So will I." I pressed my power harder against Blair's mind. I needed to fix her memories. I had to or we wouldn't get anywhere. A little more pressure and Blair dropped to the floor with the other four. Two seconds later, Francis slammed me on top the
head and I joined them.
Is it normal for your head to pound after waking up? No, don't answer. I don't think I've woken up once this past week without my brain trying to break out of my skull. Still, It's been a while since I've woken up on a floor. Wait, no…that's a lie as
well. I've been waking up on the ground a lot lately, but I couldn't exactly recall what had happened this time.
I sat up slowly, realizing that everything hurt.
"Blair?" I looked over to find Tyler also sitting up.
"Tyler?"
"Do you still want to kill me?"
"Why would I want to— "a memory of being slammed into a wall flashed across my mimd. "You threw me against a wall," I stared. "Tyler, what the hell?"
"You don't remember, do you?"
"Remember what?"
"You were…honestly I don't know. You weren't acting entirely like you. You said Zak kidnapped me or something."
"Why would Zak kidnap you? If anything I kidnapped him."
"That's what I said!"
"Where are we?"
"I don't."
"Tyler, Blair, are you alright?"
"Francis!" I yelled launching myself to my feet. I threw my arms around his neck hugging him and refusing to let go. "Where have you been?" I asked. "Tyler and I have been looking for you everywhere."
"What do you remember?" Francis asked holding me at an arm's length.
"A little bit here and there. The last week or so is kind of fuzzy, but the memories are slowly starting to clear up."
"Is that so?" I hugged him again.
"I'm glad you're okay."
"Blair, I'm really sorry about this?"
"About what?" I asked as something sharp pricked my shoulder. Almost instantly My entire body went limp and I collapsed, my consciousness fading once again.
"Francis what the hell do you think you're doing?" Tyler was on his feet, attacking before I had time to reply. Luckily, Zak's early attack was still taking its toll on Blair's twin, so injecting him with the knockout drug was rather simple.
"And that takes care of that." I hummed as Tyler dropped to the floor beside Blair. Conley and Astrid were still unconscious from the Zak attack, but they weren't all that important. All Father wanted, and all he needed, was Blair and Tyler. I glanced
to Zak as well. He'd probably be useful if we could bring him to our side.
"I see there were a few complications." Father said, approaching the scene.
"I warned you about Zak, but you didn't listen."
"Yes, well, I suppose I owe you an apology then; however, now we have both alphas and a boy who can control cryptids."
"And that's important?"
"Of course." Father sang. He smiled as if a million new plans were running through his head. "This location has been compromised. Prepare to leave, and prepare our three new family member so they won't be able to cause any problems during the trip."
"Drug them?"
"Heavily, and transfer them to the plane."
"What about the others?" I asked. There were over a dozen half-bloods in this facility.
"What about them? I can rebuild a new army so long as I have the Alpha's. I don't even need an army so long as I have the Alpha's. Now hurry up. No doubt more unwelcome guests are on their way here."
"Yes sir." Father walked away, leaving me to preparations. I called over some of security and we quickly went about our business, preparing to leave the base for good.
And here's the end of the chapter. Not the biggest fan, but I've been stuck on how to continue and finally decided to just write something.
I hope you liked it.
