Hi. Yes, I know it's been over a year since I've updated, but I never really did give up on this story. I hope someone still wants to read it, and if not, at least I'm doing this for me. This story is a labor of love, and sometimes I have to cringe when I'm looking back on my writing when I was just starting. Also, I recently changed my pen name from Yankeefan26 to Teddy-Lupin-Head-Boy, so if anyone is confused. I also started a tumblr, I'm also Teddy-Lupin-Head-Boy on there, where I often post drabbles and conversations from the next gen. So please follow me on there too! Anyway, I have planned the story out to have 41 chapters, including the epilogue. So I will try to write soon, but I can make no promise. However, as promised before, I will finish this story no matter how long it takes. So please reviews and keep your thoughts coming. Thanks!

Recap: Scorpius and Rose came back to Hogwarts after break and just entered the Great Hall, holding hands, revealing their relationship to all.

It seemed as if all discussion stopped when Rose and Scorpius entered the room. All eyes turned to face them, shocked about the newest revelation. The Great Hall remained silent as Scorpius walked Rose to the Gryffindor table, gave her a quick peck on the lips, and walked to the other side of the hall to sit beside Albus. Students and faculty alike started chatting, but Rose and Scorpius knew it was all about them. Rose swore she even saw Professor Flitwick hand Uncle Neville a few galleons, as if they had placed a bet on her relationship! She couldn't help herself, so she started to laugh.

"Well, at least it's all out in the open now, mate," Albus said as he patted Scorpius on the back.

"Yeah, I guess so. But it's gonna be rough for a while. I know Rose will especially hate all these people looking at us strangely and always talking about us."

"Mhmmm. But I mean, this is like the biggest piece of gossip Hogwarts has had in years. You can't help it," Albus replied.

Rose, at the Gryffindor table, was fielding so many questions. All of the Gryffindors wanted to know how this had happened, and Rose wasn't keen on giving details. She was trying her best, but she was easily overwhelmed.

"Listen you lot!" Alaina yelled, "If Rose wants to answer your questions later, then she can. But right now just let the girl eat her potatoes!"

Rose was grateful for Alaina, who would speak up when Rose didn't want to. After finishing her meal, Rose glanced over at Scorpius, who indicated he was also finished eating. The pair then stood up and met in the middle of the room, ready to head back into their dormitory. They both knew that it would draw even more attention leaving together, but they didn't care. Rose and Scorpius were now out in the open, and no one's opinion could change how they felt about one another.

"So what do you want to do on Saturday," Scorpius asked.

"Hmmm?"

"It's a Hogsmeade day," he started, "so I wanted to know what you wanted to do."

"I don't care. Surprise me. As long as I'm with you, I don't care."

"Aww, how sappy," he said before quickly kissing her.

"I'm serious. Well, except maybe Madam Puddifoot's. I think that place is way too romantic and disgusting."

"So Madam Puddifoots it is!"

"I hate you, Malfoy."

"No you don't."

"You're right, I don't. But you don't hate me either."

"Nope, I happen to love you very much."

Albus Potter was depressed. There was no other way to say it, other than he was totally distraught. He thought that he could get over Alice. Sure, it would take time, but eventually he would get over her. Unfortunately, he now thought that this wasn't possible. He had just ruined everything by witnessing her snogging Adam Kilmer, in the Charms classroom.

Al couldn't find his favorite quill, and the last place he remembered seeing it was in the Charms classroom. So after dinner, he made his way over there, hoping he would be able to find the quill. Unfortunately, he ran into a sight much worse. As he opened the door, he saw Alice snogging the hell of of Adam Kilmer, his hands precariously close to her arse. They immediately flung apart when they heard the door open, but the damage was already done. For a moment, Albus stood frozen as Alice's face turned tomato red.

"Al, wha-what are you doing here?" Alice asked, shocked she could actually form words.

Instead of answering, Albus turned around and ran as fast as he could. There were no words to explain how he was feeling, and he especially wasn't in the mood to talk to Alice, the girl that had broken his heart. Merlin, he didn't think that was possible, but it was. She had his heart, and she had broken it.

"Al, stop please!" Alice yelled, chasing after him.

His Quidditch skills coming in handy, he easily made sure he had lost Alice before making his way outside to the Quidditch pitch. Practice didn't start for another hour, but he just needed to fly, to get his mind off of her. That's all he could do.

Alice was mortified. Sure, she was happy with Adam, but the last thing she wanted was for Albus to see the two of them together. Merlin, she would have wished that anyone else, even her father, would have seen them. Yet, she didn't know why she felt so bad. It was painfully obvious after their drunken snog that Albus would never pursue her, so she went to Venice and moved on. Why was that so hard to understand? And yet, Alice felt a numbing pain, as if she had betrayed Albus. But she couldn't continue to think this way. She had to give Adam a chance. Yes, he was no Albus, but she needed to fully move on. Her and Albus were not meant to be.

"Merlin, Al, what the bloody hell is wrong with you?" Scorpius asked.

The Slytherin Quidditch team had been practicing for the past four hours, without reprieve. Most looked like they were about to fall off of their brooms, which Zabini had done a half an hour earlier. Al should have stopped practice an hour ago, when at least the team would have been able to walk off the field. At this point, everyone would be limping back to their rooms, and not all in one piece.

"Fine, you whiny lot. We can be done for today. But I expect you back here tomorrow for even more training so we can kick some Hufflepuff arse in next week's match!" Albus yelled, starting to put the equipment away.

"Al, can we talk?" Scorpius asked.

"I'm really not in the mood, but I can tell you're going to talk to me anyway."

"Yeah, you're right. So at least if you don't want to talk, then please listen. I know what happened with Alice today."

"Of course you do. I'm sure everyone thinks it so bloody funny," Albus replied.

"No, of course not. Alice ran into the Head's dormitory, thinking you might be there. Obviously you weren't so then she told Rose and I everything. And she feels awful, Al."

"Why? He's her boyfriend, they can bloody snog whenever they want. It's not like I give a damn."

"Look, I'm your best mate," Scorpius started, "You can use this guarded 'I don't care' bullshit with others, but I'm not falling for it. So just talk to me, Al."

"When we snoggged that one night, I thought just maybe she liked me too. But then we were both so embarrassed, and I just didn't know what to do. So I thought that things had been ruined, but I still had that little peck of optimism that made me think, 'well maybe we will actually get together at some point.' But then you and Rose told me she was with Kilmer, and that killed any hope I had. And I mean, I've had girlfriends before, but Alice is different. I didn't even date Alice, and I'm more torn up then when I broke up with birds I did date."

"I'm sorry, Al. I'm going to say something I never would have said before, but Rose obviously has rubbed off on me. And she says this sort of rubbish all the time, and it tends to put people in a good mood. So, 'if it's meant to be, it'll be.' I know that's tough to accept, but I think it's true. So don't give up complete hope, but try to feel better, mate. I know it's rough, believe me I was there when Rose and I had our first fight. But I'm here for you, and so is Rose. So don't feel like you have to bottle it all in."

"Thanks, Scorp. I'm just gonna go back to the dungeons for a bit and do some work. I'll see you later, yeah?"

"Of course, Al. I'll see you later."

And as Al walked away, Scorpius was truly heartbroken for his best friend and what Albus Potter must be facing.

Rose woke up extremely early on Saturday, ready for her first Hogsmeade date with Scorpius. He would not tell her where they were going, but Rose was excited nonetheless. Her and Scorpius attempted to convince Al to go to Hogsmeade with them, but the attempt was futile. It seemed that he would rather sulk around the castle all day. So Rose started to pick out her outfit and fix her wild mane. Since it was early January, it was much too cold to be wearing a dress of any kind. Rose instead opted for a tan sweater and scarf, along with her favorite pair of jeans. About an hour later, she left her room, and saw Scorpius sitting on the couch, waiting for her. He smiled as he glanced at her, as if she was the most beautiful creature on the planet. Because to Scorpius, Rose was.

"You ready to go?" he asked, grabbing her hand.

"Of course."

"Okay. Off we go then."

The couple walked hand and hand to the village, first stopping by the Three Broomsticks.

"I know this is cliché, but I thought we could stop here first and grab a butterbeer," Scorpius explained.

"Sounds fine to me. I told you, I don't care what we do."

"I'll grab us drinks, you find us a table."

"Ay, ay, captain," Rose replied with a giggle.

Once Scorpius came back with the drinks, the conversation flowed naturally. First they talked about family, and then even about childhood pets. Rose admitted that she loved cats, despite Scorpius's aversion to them. Rose blushed once she realized that she had told him years down the road she would make sure their house was furnished with a cat. This meant Rose was admitting she thought they would be together years later. But to be honest, neither could see their future at this point without the other. Scorpius didn't want to think about this too long though, so he interrupted their thoughts:

"Can we just address the elephant in the room?" Rose gave him a curious look before he continued, "after Slytherin plays Hufflepuff, our next match is two weekends after that, and it's against Gryffindor."

"Ahh, yes I know," Rose replied, "and don't think I haven't figured out what day that is. But honestly, just because your birthday falls on the same date as the match that I'm going to let you win."

"Of course not! I would never expect such behavior from a Weasley! But please, let's not discuss my birthday."

"Why not? Because it falls on-"

"Shut up Rose!"

"On Valentine's Day!" she yelled before falling into a hysterical fit.

Scorpius had always hated his birthday, because it fell on the same day as the gooey, romantic holiday. He hated the fact that he could have been born on 364 other days, none of which were as awful as Valentine's Day. In short, Scorpius hoped every year to forget his birthday, and the holiday associated with it. Don't get him wrong, Scorpius had nothing against love and celebrating it. For Merlin's sake, he was in love right now! But Scorpius hated the commercialization of the day, where the whole idea is to buy a girl chocolate and roses instead of actually expressing one's feelings.

"You know I'm going to go all out right?" Rose asked, interrupting his thoughts.

"I could expect nothing less from you, love" he replied, knowing she was going to purposely be as cliché as possible that day, just to annoy him.

"I mean, after Gryffindor wins the match, of course."

"Whatever you say, Rose, whatever you say."

Rose was having such a wonderful day. After leaving the Three Broomsticks and going to her uncle's store, the couple just walked around in the snow. This was, of course, before their legendary snow ball fight. Now they were both quite wet from the snow, and decided it would be best to head back to the castle. Ever the gentleman, Scorpius ran into the bathroom first, so he could take a shower.

"Merlin, Scorp! Is chivalry really dead?" Rose yelled. "I want a shower; I'm freezing my arse off!"

"All in good time, love, once I'm done!" he returned.

"I hate you!"

"No you don't, Weasley, no you don't."

And it was true. Rose loved him so much, despite his antics. And today had been one of the best dates of her life, and she could imagine many more with Scorpius Malfoy, even if he did hog the bathroom.
