Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha or any of its characters.

(A/N: Well it has been far to god damn long since I have updated this story, hell it has been for too long since I started and not ended this story, almost 7 years now and I cannot hardly believe it. Wish I had a good excuse as to why it has been so long but I don't so I am going to just say life happens and sometimes you forget about things in the mix. But I promise I will finish this story eventually, and hopefully go back and rewrite the first few chapters so they are total crap as they are now and hopefully make them more compelling seeing as I feel my writing has improved. Anyways enough of my bullshit and on with the story.)

As Kagome woke she felt a pair of strong arms pull her backwards into something soft and warm, yet appeared to have a strong feel too it as well. She smiled as she took in her surroundings and snuggled closer to the warmth that engulfed her body. "Inuyasha." She whispered softly as she closed her eyes again.

"Kagome." She heard her name spoken from behind her as she felt a hot breath at the nape of her neck.

Kagome shifted in her lovers arms and pressed her chest against his. "I love you so much" she whispered as she buried her face in the crook of his neck taking in his wonderful scent.

"I love you too." He softly replied pulling her tightly against him. 'Life can't get any better than this, I have my soul mate here in my arms, my pups sleeping peacefully with no worries.' He paused his thought to sniff the air long enough to smell them and listen to intently to make sure they were still asleep. 'And all my friends liii….' "Oh shit…." Inuyasha said out loud.

Kagome reluctantly pulled away to look at her mate's face confused by his sudden remark. "What's wrong?"

Inuyasha took a moment and continued to sniff the air. 'Everyone is still asleep… Good, I will fill Kagome in over a nice bath before she runs off and ignores me to be with the others' "It's nothing, I just smelled myself and I stink, you want to take a bath?" He winced thinking that was the lamest thing he could have come up with, but it was the first and only thing that came to his head.

Kagome could sense that he was hiding something and she was also sure she heard his voice when he wasn't talking, however couldn't make out any words. Either way though she was sure she could get whatever it was out of him later. "You smell perfect to me." She said sniffing him. "But how can I turn down a chance to bathe with my perfect mate." She added with a smirk before giving him a quick kiss on the lips.

'Damn that was too close, and I am definitely over thinking things, but fuck it, I just don't care.' Inuyasha thought to himself.

"So are you going to come with me or just lay there?" Kagome said from the doorway of their bedroom almost surprised that he wasn't right behind her. 'Something is up with him.'

Inuyasha shook out of his trance and quickly joined her as the quietly left their home and headed to their own personal hot springs.

"So Inuyasha what happened when you were away?" She asked once they were clear of the house. However she didn't get a response as she looked up and saw Inuyasha just looking ahead, like he was in a trance something. She turned to their link to see if his emotions were giving anything away, however all she felt was worry and relief. 'He must be thinking about whatever happened to him last night, as a vision of seeing him on his knees surrounded by the red a dome barrier that crackled with black lightning, it was something ominous and it sent a shiver down her spine thinking about it. She then had to smirk slighting at the fact that thinking about it scared her more now than it did yesterday when she just hurled herself at it. She figured he would open up to her at his own time so instead of trying to talk with him she leaned her head on his shoulder and placed her hand in his as they continued their walk.

Inuyasha snapped out of his thoughts at Kagome's touch and his eyes moved to see her leaning on him as he smiled and went back to his thoughts. 'Man I almost lost her… everything… everything I ever cared about, friends and family.' He thought to himself 'All because of the stupid power of the Shikon fucking Jewel and my god damn demon blood. I still don't know how the fuck that happened' It was as if it his demon blood somehow manifested a part of his soul and transformed it into a figment of his mind, like when a piece of Kagome's soul was transferred to Kikyou years ago. 'I didn't even fucking use the jewel on myself how the fuck….' Then it sort of dawned on him. 'Because I strengthened the Tetsusiaga it meant the hold over his demon blood became stronger and since the Tetsusiaga and was a demon weapon… Oh fuck it, I kicked my demon's side ass and I will do it again if I fucking have to.' The truth was he felt better more at one with himself than ever before as if he had conquered his demon self and he no longer had to fear turning into one, except the way he did before, but he didn't plan for that to happen.

As Inuyasha was lost in his train of thought he didn't notice Kagome stop and call out his name as he walked off the path and into a low hanging branch knocking him right off his feet and flat on his back. "You couldn't have warned me about that branch could you have." He groaned as he slowly got to his feet holding his head.

Kagome folded her arms as she leaned against the fence Inuyasha had put up around the hot spring and gave him a stern look. "Uhh I did, you were just too lost in your own thoughts to notice so you have nobody to blame but yourself." She then unlatched the door and entered and a grumbling Inuyasha fallowed her into it.

Inuyasha paused in the doorway and watched has Kagome took her clothes off and the site that would normally turn him on this time made his heart almost break. He saw bruises and a remnants of cuts on her back, arms, and legs. He could tell that they were not fresh, well more like healing quickly because of the demon blood he shared with her when they first mated. However he could still clearly see the marks that were left behind. "Kagome…" Was all he could muster as his eyes became misty and there was a lump in his throat as he swallowed hard trying not to cry.

Kagome heard him call her name and could feel the sadness he was emitting as his eyes scanned her naked body. She closed the gap between them and pressed her body against his. "Inuyasha I am fine, I swear it I just…"

"Got them the night I was washed away down the river." He finished her sentence, though he was right, he didn't know all the fine details, but he knew that it was probably his fault, it seemed whenever she was hurt he somehow was to blame.

"Don't you dare blame yourself for this." She told him sternly

"How can I not, I got washed away in the river, hell I am the one that damned the stupid thing…"

"Yeah because it helped the whole forest and made it safer for us to get fresh water." Kagome was almost on the verge of tears now, she was getting tired of him always blaming himself for everything bad that happened to them. "Things just happen for no reason sometimes and they are just out of our control."

Inuyasha took a deep breath to recompose himself. "Then why do bad things always seem to happen to us?"

Kagome just nestled her head against his chest and let out a loud sigh "Who the hell knows, but things could be worse."

Inuyasha couldn't help but smile hearing his mate curse, it rarely ever happened, she was too good to have his foul mouth but when she did he couldn't help but smile. "Yeah like how?"

"Well we could both be crippled, dead, or even worse apart." She replied

Inuyasha leaned his head back and raised one eyebrow as he looked Kagome in the eye. "So you are saying that death is preferable to being apart?"

Kagome smiled up at him. "I would rather be crippled or dead with you than be apart from you. Do you not feel the same?"

Inuyasha smirked "You're right" he stated before bending down giving her a soft kiss then rested his head on top of hers as they embraced. "Thank you Kagome, for being my everything and not giving up on me."

"You never have to thank me Inuyasha, you give me strength to get over my fears and push forward and those are just a few of the many reasons I love you." Kagome then pulled away from him and made her way into the spring. "So mister I smell bad, you going to get in there are just stand there all day.

Inuyasha smiled and began to disrobe. 'I have the greatest women the entire universe' he thought to himself. As he slid into the spring next to his wife. However they didn't sit next to each other for long as Kagome was quickly into Inuyasha's lap as the two just sat there enjoying just being with one another.

"This is perfect just me and you." Inuyasha muttered contently breaking the silence. "I would never lose you."

Kagome shifted in his lap to look him in the eye "Why would you ever lose me, we are bonded together forever?" curious as to what the meaning behind his words were.

Inuyasha dropped his head as his bangs covered his eyes as he took a deep breath and swallowed the lump in his throat as he tried to compose himself to speak. "Last night…. Was too… close." He struggled to say.

Kagome looked up at the painful look on his face as she snuggled closer to him. "I don't know what happened to you, but you can never lose me no matter what."

"It is because of you that I didn't lose myself to my demon side." He stated as he wrapped his arms around her to pull her close. "If you hadn't shown up with the Tetsusiaga when you did I might not be here right now."

"Well thanks to the strangers that showed up and told me that you were in trouble, instinct basically took over." She replied

Inuyasha lifted his head up and thought about it for a second. "Stranger, you mean Shiori and her Mother?" he blurted out.

The mood suddenly shifted around them as Kagome jumped out of his lap causing water to splash all over and small waves sloshed over the sides all over the "THAT'S WHO THAT WAS! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME!" she yelled in excitement and climbed out of the hotspring and unlatched the door and began running towards the house before Inuyasha even could say anything.

Kagome was about halfway up the path when she felt a pair of strong arms wrap around her waist and she was pulled into the air. "Inuyasha let me go." She said as she struggled in his embrace.

Inuyasha cracked a smile. "I would love to except you sure were about to run into our house and up to our friends, completely naked." He said as they landed right next to the hot spring.

Kagome looked down as she felt her face turn bright red in embarrassment and how she had a lapse in judgment.

"So how about we finish our bath and go back to our home fully clothed." Inuyasha said softly into her ear.

Her only response was a quick nod. The rest of the bath was Inuyasha standing there watching Kagome shampoo her hair and rub her soap all over her body as bubbles formed as she submerged herself. Once she felt clean enough she hopped out and grabbed her towel and began to dry herself off as she looked at Inuyasha who hadn't even started cleaning himself. "You going to get clean sometime today?" she jokingly asked.

"I don't think that I have ever seen you bathe so quickly." He said ignoring her question he smirked at her.

"Well I never had a real reason to." Kagome said as she rolled her eyes and giggled softly.

Inuyasha just laughed as he mimicked Kagome and quickly finished bathing himself. As Kagome began to get dressed Inuyasha shook himself dry. The fact that Inuyasha could dry just about everything but his hair just by shaking off made her jealous considering it took her a lot longer to dry off. Inuyasha was ready to leave before she was and she had the head start.

Kagome dressed herself in a grey long sleeved shirt and a pair of black sweatpants. It wasn't what she normally wore, but she didn't want people to see her bruises and scabs. She preferred to wear to her skirts and tank top, or a sundress during the spring. Partly because of the heat but also because she knew Inuyasha liked how she looked in them. This particular morning it was overcast and slightly cooler in the morning, but she figured that by noon or so it would warm up.

"In a few days your bruises and scrapes should be gone." Inuyasha stated sensing that something was wrong.

"How did you even…" she trailed off shocked as if Inuyasha read her mind.

"Well you see the whole link thing we have I can feel your emotions, and well your mood changed as you got dressed and seeing as how you usually only dress like that in fall and it is spring."

Kagome laughed at his explanation. "You know it was a rhetorical question right?"

"Keh" was his response as his face turned slightly red but quickly went away as Kagome walked up to him and kissed him on the cheeks as she took him by the hand and lead them towards their home.

When the couple arrived home Inuyasha surveyed the house and nobody else but themselves were still awake. "We must have gotten earlier than I thought, everyone else is still asleep."

Kagome frowned, she was really wanted to talk to Shiori and her mother and thank them from the bottom of her heart for their role in helping Inuyasha.

"Don't worry they will be up soon enough" Inuyasha said softly into her ear, sensing her disappointment.

She let out a long sigh. "I know, but you know me and patience don't always go hand in hand." She mumbled. "But I guess I could always start breakfast or something and then maybe the smell will wake everyone up.

"That's seems like a good plan to me." He replied giving a quick kiss on the temple. "Or it only wakes up our kids because of their sense of smell, and Shiori and her mother don't because they only hear things really well…" before he could finish his sentence he found himself face first on the ground, eating the floor of his home. "Hey you didn't let me finish." He said is voice muffled.

"If you had only heard how ridiculous you made that seem you would have sat yourself too." Kagome replied as began gathering the items to cook a large breakfast. "Plus you took something simple and way over thought that plan."

"As if, that plan had a great ending, with Kenshin and Izayoi making noise to wake them up." Inuyasha responded now back on his feet from the sit command.

Kagome smiled at his remark as she was enjoying the happy playful atmosphere that they had created, even though she used her sit command he didn't seem angry or upset at all. 'Must have said it too soft, got to work on that' she thought to herself. "Well you see Inuyasha, my real plan was to use those beads to create enough noise to wake them up."

Inuyasha suddenly became silent not quite able to tell if she was serious or joking, because the feeling he was gathering from her demeanor and their link seemed to be conflicting, as if it was a joke yet a serious threat at the same time. "You are joking right?"

Kaogme didn't respond with words, instead she looked at him with a mischievous smile, as she continued to gather things to cook breakfast.

"Okay that is not even funny to joke about, not only for my health, but our home, I don't want to have to replace the floor." Inuyasha said confident that she was joking but he knew that if she really wanted to.

"Well then let's hope this breakfast plan of yours works so I don't have to resort to that then." Was her response.

Inuyasha paused again for a second as if her threat was real. "Well then I am going to go with my backup plan of just waking them up myself so you don't use my face to dig a hole in the middle of our home."

"You do know I have always wanted an Inuyasha shaped hole right in the middle of my house? I pretty sure I have told you that before." Kagome stated playfully.

Inuyasha couldn't help but shake his head and laugh. "Why do you hate me women." Inuyasha replied.

Kagome took a moment to wrap her arms around Inuyasha's waist and look up into his gold eyes. "I don't hate you, in fact I love you more than anything in this world. I just want to have everything I want in this world, and unfortunately for you…" she trailed off as she leaned up and gave him a quick kiss on the lips before going back to their breakfast.

"Well it sure wouldn't feel a lot like love. Sure would feel a lot like pain." He mumbled under his breath to himself so Kagome wouldn't hear. However she did.

"You know that they say, love hurts." Still wearing the same smile she had been basically the whole conversation.

"Well that's dumb. Love should be pain free…" Inuyasha responded. "And it really sucks when life throws stupid things like rivers and saints in your fucking way…" he added

Kagome's smile changed from mischievous to loving after hearing how he responded. Inuyasha didn't always express his feelings well, but since they had been mates he had his moments that just made her love him more, and this was one of those moments. She stopped what she was doing and ran the back of her hand over his cheek and rested it on the back of his head as he pulled his head down so their lips met in a heated passionate kiss, that didn't stop there. Inuyasha wrapped on of his arms around her waist and rested his hand on her lower back as he pulled her against him, then he placed his other hand on the back of her head to deepen the kiss even further. The world around them became obsolete as they focused in on another. Inuyasha moved his hands down and rested them on her hips as he gently lifted her off the ground and set her down so she was sitting on the counter, all while maintaining their kiss. Inuyasha was the one to break the kiss as he moves his down her jawline to her neck just below her ear, which caused Kagome to moan quietly in approval. He began unbutton the three buttons on her shit as he laid her back on the counter. After the buttons were undone he trialed kisses from her neck to the front of her chest to her now exposed cleavage causing her to arch her back in delight. Kagome wrapped her arms around his neck to prop herself up off the countertop.

Just as things were about to get passed the point of no return there was a small thud followed by a sharp hiss, it wasn't super loud but with Inuyahsa's hearing it made it stop what he was doing, even though he really didn't want to. Kagome gave him a disappointed look on her face as she was eager for him to continue.

"I am just as disappointed as you, but we have some company." Inuyasha whispered in her.

Upon hearing this Kagome dropped to the floor and quickly buttoned her shirt back up. "Why didn't you say something before things went that far?" she whispered harshly at him.

"I just did, sounds like somebody stubbed a toe or something, but don't worry they are just coming down the stairs now…. But we will finish this later you can count on that." He replied in a whisper

"You better, or I will make good on that sit promise." She responded quietly

Inuyasha was about to reply but stopped short as Shiori entered the room. "Hey kiddo, you sleep okay?"

"Yeah those weird chairs are comf…." She started but ended short when Kagome threw her arms around the young half demon and Squeezed.

"IamsohappytoseeyouithasbeensolongsorryIdidn'trecognizeyoulastnight." Kagome blurted out quickly and both Inuyasha and Shiori had trouble following what she was saying.

Shiori just smiled and returned the hug. "It's fine Kagome, no need to apologize for everything."

Kagome let go and took a small step back to respond. "Fair enough, but there are not words to describe how thankful I am for what you did for Inuyasha and coming to get me when he was in trouble."

Shiori couldn't help but smile and blush a little bit at the compliment. "It was nothing, keeping him alive in that stasis barrier wasn't too bad, just glad I got there before the bat demons did or things would have gotten worse." She said and added a slight almost nervous chuckle at the end of the statement.

"What!? You failed to mention that part of the adventure.!" Kagome nearly growled as she turned and glared at Inuyasha.

Inuyasha swallowed hard as he felt the anger nearly radiating off of his mate as he carefully thought about his next words. "Well you see…" he started nervously. "I was unconscious for the stasis barrier, whatever that even means, and I was told I turned into a demon so I don't remember any bats. The first thing I remember after being swept down the river was hearing your voice in my head and then seeing lots of blood and stuff."

Inuyasha felt it was a good explanation however the way Kagome still glared at him and that whole anger radiating thing was still going on. It wasn't that she was angry that it happened, but she felt angry that Inuyasha had left parts out like she couldn't handle the truth.

"In his defense Kagome, I didn't exactly explain that part to him either." Shiori added feeling like she had just poked a hornets nest.

Kagome took a deep breath and calmed down after a few seconds of as she realized that she might be overreacting and that it probably wasn't a big deal, she didn't like the feeling that she couldn't be trusted with information going all the way back to the first time Inuyasha turned into a human when they battled the spider demons. "It's fine, I just overreacted a little, I just get worried when Inuyasha gets into trouble then doesn't tell me the truth about what happen." She replied.

Inuyasha was finally able to move from behind the counter after Kagome and his intimate moment from earlier and he walked over to behind her and wrapped his arms around her. "I know you can handle the truth, after all the adventures and stuff we have seen and experience I know better, I honestly just didn't remember." He told her.

Shiori's mother happened to come down the stairs at the perfect time and she was able to witness the affection and love that transpired in that moment that she was overjoyed that one day her daughter could find somebody like that and be happy, that is what she wanted. "Take Notes Shiori that is how a man should treat is women." She added startling the other three in the room. She was also shocked that she had basically managed to sneak up on two half demons both with great hearing and Inuyasha with his nose. 'Must be the joy of feeling safe and not having to always be on your guard.' She thought to herself.

Kagome shot out of Inuyasha's arms and embraced Shiori's mother thanking her for her involvement in the crusade of bringing Inuyasha home safe.

"Kagome it is fine, if anything Shiori deserves all the credit, I was just sort of along for the ride." She told Kagome as the embrace ended.

"Hey you are here, as far as I am concerned you helped, now come have a seat, I am just getting breakfast started." Kagome said as she grabbed Shiori's mother's hand and lead to a seat at their table.

Kagome started back preparing breakfast. "Thank you both for making the journey here by the way I know how hard it is to travel with Inuyasha and keep up with him." She said.

"Oh it was no trouble at all, and since our house was destroyed there it seemed like a logical choice." Shiori's mother explained.

"Your house was destroyed, what happened!?" Kagome almost shrieked at the news. "Inuyasha why didn't you tell me!?"

Inuyasha threw his hands up in the air is if he was surrendering because he really could not win in this particular situation. " I am sorry, next time I go on an adventure without you, which will be never ever again by the way, I will make sure to tell you every single detail the moment I get home."

"Good glad we are on the same page now." She said jokingly "But I am more concerned about building a new home, and you both are more than welcome to stay here until we build you a new home."

"Thank you Kagome that would be lovely, we were thinking of moving out here to this area, the two of us really don't have a whole lot and no ties to the coast, and after seeing Inuyasha, and hearing about your family, I think it would be an awesome move."

"That would be awesome!" Kagome said loudly with a huge smile on her face, she loved the idea of having more friends living around them.

Things had now gotten louder with Kagome finding out all the new information, Kenshin and Izayoi now made their way downstairs. "Awesome huh, is there food ready?" Kenshin asked with a big yawn.

"Kenshin if there was we would be able to smell it…" His sister replied rolling her eyes at him.

"Shut up, I just woke up." He fired back at her.

"Hey knock it off you two, you are starting to sound like Inuyasha and his brother." Kagome scolded her children, and they listened and became silent. "That's the last thing we need in this family is more sibling rivalry." She added after a short pause.

"Please that mutual dislike we share goes far beyond any sibling rivalry." Was Inuyasha's retort.

"You have a brother!?" Both Shiori and her mother said at the same time.

"Yup, we didn't find out until he saved Kenshin one day, and if that hadn't happened, I bet we still wouldn't know." Izayoi chimed who was now sitting at the table with everyone else, except Kagome who was busy preparing breakfast. Yet it did earn her a glare from her father.

"Well I would like to meet him, I mean if he is your brother maybe he and Shiori would hit it off." Her mother suggested.

"Moooom" Shiori responded her face was red as a tomato, she couldn't believe her mother did that too her.

"No need to feel embarrassed because it won't ever happen." Inuyasha replied, he didn't mean for what he said to come out sounded so harsh and cold, but when it came to his brother, even though they had gotten along better, he still held animosity towards him from years ago.

"Why not, are you trying to say Shiori isn't good enough to be part of your family!?" Shiori's mom nearly screamed, she couldn't believe what he was saying.

Inuyasha was caught off guard by the response and then it dawned on him that they didn't know who Sesshomaru was. Kagome realized this before Inuyasha however and tried to make things right. "I am so sorry, Inuyasha here has failed to realize that you have never met his brother, therefore you don't know him." She quickly added in attempt to restore the peace.

"Why is he such a bad guy, your son just said he saved his life?" Shiori's mother asked

"Mom it really isn't a big deal." Shiori stepped in also trying to calm her mother down.

"Look I am not sure why Sesshomaru does some of the things he does, but he is a total prick…" Inuyasha never got to finish his sentence.

"Sesshomaru as in the son of the great Inu no Taisho ruler of the western lands?" Shiori asked as she interrupted Inuyasha.

Inuyasha hesitantly nodded but didn't say anything.

"Shiori are you referring to the story your father told you when you were young, the one his father?" Her mother asked.

Shiori nodded to confirm her mother's question.

"What story is that?" Kenshin asked forgetting about the uneasy tension that filled the room moments ago.

"Well it is the story of the great leader of the Western Lands, Inu no Taisho and his tragic exit from this world." Shiori's mother explained.

"Can you tell us?" Kenshin asked. "Yeah tell us!" Izayoi added.

"Shiori you should tell it since you brought it up." Her mother told her, temporarily putting the previous matter behind her for the moment not being done with Inuyasha. 'Funny how kids can change the mood in the blink of an eye' she thought to herself.

"Okay" Shiori agreed. "Okay let's see, umm. Inu no Taisho was a great demon of incredible size and strength, that made even the largest demons feel small and the strongest to tremble in fear." Shiori started. "He was said to be a kind and fair ruler, but if you ever crossed him it would be the last thing you did. As the years passed he saw the leaders from the different regions have heirs and plan for the future and he came to the conclusion that he too should have an heir to his throne and thus he had a son, Sesshomaru. Then years after the birth of Sesshomaru, the great dog general faced off against a strong dragon demon that was terrorizing the lands and was fatally wounded by him, but still managed to seal him forever with one of his claws and save the lands from his wrath and died a hero by sacrificing himself so others could live. My father told that we could learn from him that we are never above the lives of others and if you have the power to protect others you should use it." She ended the story with a smile.

Shiori's mother smiled at her as her eyes got misty. "It is wonderful that you remember his words even though you can't remember his face."

Inuyasha smiled at the sight in front of him, and he was thankful that the entire mood had shifted. He did however clear his throat as he began to speak. "I don't mean to put a damper on that story, but the ending is slightly off as well as a few other minor details missing." Everyone in the room turn their attention to him but didn't say anything as they were eager to hear the story, even Kagome wanted to hear it even though she already knew what he was about to say. "Inu no Taisho wasn't killed in the mountains where he fought Ryukotsusei, but in the palace of the women he loved. A human women, yes the great dog general had fallen in love with a human women. Much to the dismay of his son, who from the day he found out, until the day his father died always, questioned everything he did. Anyways, after Inu no Taisho had defeated Ryukotsusei he rushed back to his beloved to be present for the birth of his child. Unfortunately the women he fell in love with was a princess, the most beautiful princess in all the land, and she had was being courted by another man, a warrior prince named Takemaru. The prince became bitter and full of hatred when he discovered that he was rejected because she had fallen for a demon and was pregnant with his child. So on the same night that he battled Ryukotsusei his beloved went into labor and he rushed home to see her. However Takemaru had other plans and since he couldn't have the princess he figured nobody would so he set fire to the castle. His plan took a left turn as Inu no Taisho arrived and protected them as she gave birth. Takemaru witnessed Inu no Taisho arrive and followed him into the castle. Before Takemaru could stop it Inu no Taisho opened a path that allowed the princess and her son escape the fire. That is where both men died, fighting to the end as the castle around them burned to the gound."

After Inuyasha had finished the tale, everyone was silent and the only sound that could be heard was Kagome working about.

"Are… are you sure that is right Inuyasha? I don't recall my father ever mentioning that part of the story before, did he mother?" Shiori asked intrigued by the story but wasn't sure if she believed it.

Her mother shook her head. "No he never mentioned that he fell in love with a human and had a son. What was her name and the name of her child?" she asked.

Inuyasha shifted uncomfortably in his chair as he thought about how to answer the question because he was sure they didn't pick up on the fact that the Sesshomaru from the story was his brother and he was the child from it and he felt that if he told them they wouldn't believe him. Kagome however didn't get that feeling, mainly because she was doing other things and not paying full attention to those at the table. "The princesses name was Izayoi and her son's name was Inuyasha." She said not looking up from her task.

The room once again became silent as everyone looked from Kagome to Inuyasha and back again trying to see if they believed him.

"So your daughter is named after a princess and you are named after her son?"

Inuyasha opened his mouth to respond but Kagome beat him to the punch again not missing a beat. "Sort of, Izayoi is named after Inuyasha's mother, but Inuyasha is the child of Inu no Taisho and Princess Izayoi."

"Inuyasha is that true?" Shiori asked stunned.

Inuyasha let out a long uncomfortable sigh. "Yeah it is true, and that is why my brother hates me so much, he blames me and my mother for the death of our father, as well as the whole he is a full demon and I am only half." He explained.

"That's stupid!" Izayoi huffed crossing her arms, basically mirroring something her father would do.

"You're right Izayoi it is stupid, however your Uncle Sesshomaru isn't as cold hearted anymore." Kagome told her daughter.

"I swear Kagome you and Rin are the only two people in the world that see the good in him." Inuyasha added.

"No, I just think that you only choose to see the bad in some people instead of the big picture." She replied and gave him a quick peck on the cheek as she placed his breakfast in from of him.

Everyone ate breakfast rather quickly as they all were hungrier than they realized luckily for them Kagome did prepare more than usual and everyone ate their fill and everything that she cooked was eaten. Kenshin and Izayoi cleared the table while and Kagome began to do the dishes and the kids went upstairs to play leaving just the adults downstairs.

"Kagome are you sure you don't want any help?" Shiori's mother asked feeling bad that she couldn't help at all.

"Yes I am sure, you are a guest and I am refuse to make you do work like this, plus Inuyasha made doing the dishes easy for me." Kagome replied causing Inuyasha's face to turn a light shade of red.

Shiori's mother shrugged as she didn't know what to do, back home there always seemed like there was something to do and now since there wasn't she felt bored. 'Funny how when you are busy you wish there was nothing to do, yet when you are bored you want to be busy.' She thought to herself.

Inuyasha sensed that she was betting antsy from not doing anything so he decided to take make some plans. "How about we go into the village and show them around and scope out a place to build you guys a new home?"

"Sounds good to me, but damn you move fast Inuyasha." Shiori's mother answered.

"It does sound perfect Inuyasha, plus we can stop by and see Sango, Miroku and Shippo it will be fun." Kagome added as she dried her hands off on a towel. "Just let me go upstairs tell the kids what the plan is and change then we can go."

Inuyasha sat there unable to get a word in before things were made final. He didn't object to any of them, but it wasn't usual for people to agree and go along with his plans. 'Guess there is a first time for everything.'
