As team seven began walking back towards Konoha, Naruto soon realized he was missing something important.
"I'm missing my coupon!"
Sasuke cringed at the shout, looking at all the littered weapons and clothes on the ground. "Really Naruto? You're gonna freak out over a missing ramen coupon?"
"We can just teleport back..."
"Sensei, they need exercise."
Minato frowned, a little depression cloud forming over his head. "I wanted to go to the graveyard..." he muttered under his breath. No one heard him.
Before anyone could say anything else, Naruto bolted off to the nearby town, sprinting down streets and dashing down alleyways to get to Tazuna's house.
When he was almost there, he almost slid into Tazuna who was walking to the market. "Oh, Naruto! Why're you back here?"
"Ah! Tazuna-San! I left a really important coupon at your house, did you see it at all?!"
Sasuke shushined next to Naruto and smacked him on the head. "Ow! Teme, what was that for!"
"You left us for a piece of paper."
"Yeah, but It's a free meal at Ichiraku! Old man Teuchi gave it to me for my birthday!"
"You left us still the same."
Tazuna laughed in amusement and placed his hand on his forehead. "So, Tazuna-san did you see it?"
"Oh, you mean that tiny piece of paper? Inari left a little while ago to give it to you."
"Eh!"
"Dobe."
"Ah... Inari, where are you!" Naruto dashed down the street, towards the forest he'd come from. He rushed through the bushes, Sasuke trailing close behind. Skidding to a stop, the two looked at the ground. There were footsteps everywhere.
"It seems that there was a fight here or some sort of struggle."
"No dip Sherlock," muttered Naruto under his breath. Even though he could be overly childish- especially over ramen, he still was observant and the most skilled in the class. Naruto knew he wasn't the smartest, but still.
Looking around some more in the bushes, he spotted a small piece of paper with a mud smudge on it. He bent down and picked it up. He searched around for anything else when Sasuke called.
"Naruto, over here."
Naruto looked over, and Sasuke pointed to the cuts into a tree; clearly caused by a blade, most likely a katana. Naruto walked closer, observing the slashes. "I've seen these before, Sasuke." Naruto pressed his hand to the tree and thought. "If we follow these, we may find Inari. I found my coupon over there, so Inari must have been kidnapped," he spoke as he pointed his finger at the average area the tiny paper had been spotted.
"Hn." Sasuke looked around slightly before taking off in the direction the slashes in the trees continued.
Inari
Flashback
"Inari, do you know what this piece of paper is?"
Inari looked up from his comics and looked at the piece of paper Tazuna was holding. His eyes widened. "That's Naruto-Nii-sans!"
"Oh?"
Inari bolted upwards and grasped the coupon away from Tazuna. "I got to get this to him!"
Inari bolted out of the room, and down the streets into the forest. Three kids glared at him from behind his back, before running off after him.
"Oi, Inari!"
Inari stopped and looked at them.
"You've been all cocky since your ninja friends came here."
Inari just looked at him as he spoke. "I think we should teach him a lesson... How about you?"
His two friends nodded and grabbed his shirt. "Call for your ninja friends little Inari!" they teased. Inari still didn't budge.
"They aren't here. And you don't scare me."
They heard a chuckle from behind the bushes and they instantly let go of Inari, backing up slightly. "Well, well, well, that's a good thing, ain't it?
