Chapter 36
Morning had come and time was running out. The massive hourglass outside of the vault quickly ran through its remaining grains and almost empty. The small army of Saiyan warriors camped outside in Kami's courtyard patiently awaiting Frieza's imminent arrival. Nappa stood in the middle of the gardens scanning the sky attempting to detect the approaching enemy. While he was doing that, Vegeta sat cross armed underneath a palm tree lost in thought. It seemed the young prince was in a state of deep relaxation however there was a mental war raging in his heart.
All of my life I've striven to surpass you- and each time I think I've beaten you, your power reaches a new level!
Vegeta's fists balled up and his eyes opened burning with resentment. Go ahead, Saber, train- get stronger…. I'll be the one to defeat Frieza, you can have your woman but the day is mine! YOU HEAR ME?! I'M THE REAL SUPER SAIYAN!
He stood up and left the gardens to be alone however his thoughts followed in hot pursuit. Thankfully the other Saiyans were too busy or preoccupied to notice the frustrated prince blow past them and into the Lookout. There was no doubt that Vegeta was greatly respected and admired by the other Saiyans; but Saber had something else. When Frieza attacked their planet, Vegeta, Andromeda, and Dawn rallied the other warriors in a valiant effort to defend their home. However the real battle was being fought miles away and by Saber no less. Saber was practically a living legend among the Saiyan race for he stood toe to toe with Frieza and live to tell the tale. For that reason their entire race looked to him as a symbol of hope; they believed in him! Just thinking of that angered Vegeta even more causing him to boil with rage.
After wandering through a couple rooms and down a long corridor Vegeta found his way to Kami's throne room. What made him stay were the six glistening objects sitting comfortably on a large pedestal. Walking up he grabbed one of them and curiously examined it. So this is what the fuss is all about? When I learned of the Dragon Balls I was expecting something a bit… well more.. The prince rubbed his thumb across the two stars that were etched on its surface before setting the ball down. "Magic balls and Ice Queens- what kind of goofy fairytale world is this place?"
In a way Vegeta couldn't blame Frieza for wanting to attain the Dragon Balls; immortality was a very tempting thing. A part of him wanted to take the wishes for himself but his logic reasoned otherwise. Even if he defeated Frieza and killed off the Earthlings there was still Saber to contend with. Needless to say he'd fill his brother's true wrath, immortal or not. Although Vegeta held some deep resentment towards Saber he still respected him, it's what good siblings were for.
"Your training better pay off, brother!"
Inside the Time Chapter…..
The gravity inside the training field was well over 200g but Saber was far from tiring out. He was focused, unstoppable, and a true force to be reckoned with. A bead of sweat rolled across his face and splashed down onto the ground as he stood upside down on his hands and pushed up against the gravity. "Four thousand nine hundred ninety-nine…. Five hundred thousand!"
The warrior pushed against the ground with all of his strength and propelled fifty feet away landing with a loud Wham! The prince slowly rose to his feet taking a deep breath and focused all of his power. The ground around him rumbled and quaked at a violent pace while a blue light formed in the palm of his hand.
"KAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-LIIIMMMMMMMMMMM BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
The deadly beam shot forward and blasted across the training grounds and into the great white open, "Here goes nothing…" Saber said before vanishing. Moments later he reappeared in the most unlikely spot of all- the trajectory of his own attack. The Kalimba beam roared across the luminescent field and threatened to slam into him within a matter of seconds; but it was all part of the plan. The Saiyan took a defensive stance planting his feet firmly into the ground and prepared to block. A large energy bubble formed around him as he powered up once again.
"AGGGHHHHHHH!"
The beam slammed into his barrier with frightening force while the prince concentrated every fiber of his being to repel the attack. The bubble shimmered and threatened to give way but Saber would not be beaten. There was so much depending on him; his home, his family, but most importantly, Elsa.
"I CAN'T LOSE!
His feet began to budge and slide across the floor but he shifted his weight forward and pushed back with all of his might. For a moment things began to slow down and he felt a sense of hopelessness. How was he supposed to stop Frieza when he could barely even slow down his own Kalimba beam? His frustration and anger took control temporarily blinding him of his physical and emotional pain. A strange golden aurora surrounded his body and grew brighter while the ground around him broke apart and shook at a frightening magnitude. Saber's eyes changed from their normal dark color to a dark blue while he screamed with primal rage,
"FRIEZAAAAAA!"
The prince couldn't explain it but with very little effort he threw his fist forward slamming it into the Kalimba beam and sent it barreling into the white beyond. Although the attack was long gone Saber couldn't stop his power up-
"FRIEEEEZAAAAAAAAA!"
The entire chamber vibrated while the ground continued to split and crack beneath his feet. A moment later the aurora around him exploded with terrifying waves of energy and sent out a powerful shock wave.
"ARRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
His hair flickered and turned a bright gold while radiating with light. The power up was quite a rush for Saber which caused him to ball his fists as he felt his strength multiply by fifty! Then… it was gone. The aurora died down and faded away taking Saber's newfound strength with it. "What was that?"
It's your destiny my son.
"Father?" Saber gasped as he scanned his surroundings.
I'm here with you in spirit- we all are!
After King Vegeta finished speaking other voices echoed throughout the time chamber but there was one that stood out from the rest.
Hey Uncle Saber!
"Stryker!"
You have no idea how close you are to reaching your goal, keep going!
A smile came over Saber's face as he said, "I promise!"
Back on Earth…..
Everyone who had the ability to sense what was coming stopped what they were doing and looked to the sky in unison, Frieza was here. Vegeta burst through the entrance and ran to join the others. "His power…I've forgotten how terrifying it is!"
Kami gripped his staff tightly and instinctively took a step backward while Elsa's heart dropped. Due to her powers and some mentoring from Saber she had learned to detect other people's life force; including Frieza's. "He's a monster!"
Vegeta looked at her with his arrogant smirk and said, "I could've told you that your highness."
After a speedy descent into the atmosphere and breaking through a large formation of clouds the planet's surface finally came into view. A cold smile formed on the tyrant's face as he finished his glass of wine and quietly chuckled. "My… such a pretty sight. I can't wait to burn it all down!"
The captain caught his attention when he called over, "My lord, there's a large valley to the south of our position. If you wish I could touch the ship down there; the canyon walls should provide us with the cover we will need down there."
"Do what you will, Captain, I trust your judgment."
It made no difference to Frieza either way the wishes were going to be his and no one was going to stop him. "I hope your little girlfriend was worth it, Saber, because you're going to die for her!"
Saber felt his presence land on Earth even inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. He looked to the hourglass he had and snapped back to his training with renewed determination. "Hang on guys I'm coming!"
Hello there readers! So how did you enjoy this chapter? I sure hope you liked it; I know I promised you action but it's been a whole week since I last updated and I feel like I haven't been as consistent with my work as I used to be. Thankfully my schedule should be slowing down considerably and so I'll have more chapters just around the corner- including….BATTLE! : )
But hey on the upside we got to see something incredibly awesome with Saber. Could he really be the Super Saiyan of Legend? Will he be able to fulfill his destiny and save the Earth? All of these answers and more will be revealed in a very short time.

This first one actually is an older one from one of my previous chapters. Ruddman sent me a review but I completely forgot about it, I'm really sorry buddy I didn't mean to. I try my best to do right by everyone on here but I'm only human and I screw up every once in a while lol. So allow me to make it up to you, this shoutout is on the house. Anyway he wrote,
"Good chapter. Sorry if I wasn't more clear, but what I was trying to say was that morally Saber wouldn't have as much of an issue killing Frieza as Goku did when he had Frieza beaten. He's probably seen a lot of the horrendous crimes committed by Frieza on innocents countless times and would therefore have little to no moral issue with finishing Frieza off. Keep going."
My answer, You're absolutely right. Saber would have no problem killing off Frieza whatsoever. He's seen the tyrant perform some terrible things that would give the rest of us nightmares. Saber has a good heart deep down inside but it's full of anger and bitterness thanks to Frieza. As much as I love Goku on the actual show his mercy streak gets to me. I mean Frieza killed Krillin on Namek and attempted to kill his son Gohan along with Piccolo yet he was going to let that jerk live after the battle! He's just way too nice lol. Anyway thanks for that review and I'm sorry I didn't get to you sooner, I promise that was a onetime deal haha.
