Fixed But Not the Same

Annabeth

"Look Annabeth, I think you're just jealous," Percy crossed his arms.

I gave out a cruel laugh. "Me, jealous of her? Why? Because I li-" I stopped there. There was no way that I was going to confess my feelings to Percy at a time like this.

"You what?"

"Look, if you like her so much, you should ask her to be your fake girlfriend instead of me!" I shouted. I know that I didn't mean it but at the time I wasn't thinking straight. I could see that Percy was somewhat offended at my choice of words. If I could take it back I would. "Percy…" I started.

"No Annabeth, I think you're right. I mean she's everything you aren't. Who would want a dumb blonde like you?"

Then there was silence. He just said it, the taboo words.

I started to choke back the tears that were threatening to fall. Percy knows just as well as anyone about how hard I've worked for my intelligence. How I would stay up until three in the morning studying, so that others will believe in my brain power.

"Annabeth," he voice was horse. "I didn't mean that."

That was it. I couldn't take it anymore. It was all a mistake, the fake dating, the friendship, everything.

"Percy," I choked out. "Don't. Just stop. I'm done. I can't do this anymore."

"Do what?" His voice was just as soft.

"The fake relationship, our real friendship. Everything, it's too much for me to handle. I-I gotta go."

I ran all the way to Luke and Thalia's room and luckily Luke opened the door.

"Do you have room for three?" I gave a fake smile.

"Come here," I was offered a hug.

Then the dam broke loose, I confessed everything to Luke. I was luckily that Thalia was showering because if she found out anything she'd have Percy's head hanging over a fireplace.

"Annie, what happened?" Thalia asked as she came out of the shower.

Instead of answering, Luke filled her in with the details.

"Why I got to," Thalia started muttering some profane words.

"Thalia, it's a long day, we'll deal with it tomorrow," Luke told her.

I ended up getting Luke's room and he slept on the couch. The next day I noticed that Luke was missing and I had a bad feelings about what was happen but before I could say anything, I fainted.

"Annie, you're awake!" Thalia shouted as I tried to get up from the bed.

"W-what happened?" I asked.

"Hello Miss Chase, I am Doctor Fletcher," Dr. Fletcher introduced himself. "Don't worry, nothing bad has happened but you are overstressed and anemic. When was the last time you've eaten a proper meal?"

I thought about that question for a while. Ever since the fight with Percy, I've devoted as much time as I can away from him. I've joined the school's scholastic decathlon team and became the captain. I've also been putting more time into track practice so I guess it wasn't very wise of me to put off sleeping and eating.

"A while," I finally answered.

"Well luckily for you it's nothing serious and you'll be released later tonight and I suggest you to start managing your time more. Well that'll be all for me, any questions Miss Chase?"

"No, thank you."

Thalia ended up staying for a bit and I managed to convince her to not murder Percy. She left after an hour to go to a Green Day concert with Luke. Piper ended up visiting and almost talked me to death and she finally left after giving me my missed homework. A few other people visited me and finally visiting hours were over.

There was a knock on my door and I really hoped that it would be Percy but atlas it wasn't.

"Hello Miss Chase," Dr. Fletcher greeted me. "Your forms are almost all done and you'll be released in an hour." With that he left and I was all alone in my room, well hospital room again.

I was thinking when I should forgive Percy but I know my pride won't let me apologize to him. So instead of worrying about that I decided to crack open my English homework. We're currently learning about the 19th and 20th century about social classes and all that stuff, normally I would find it interesting but right now I don't. I was just wondering what I could do to kill sometime and my question was answered by some tap at the window.

I opened my blinds to notice that first of all it was raining like crazy and second that someone was throwing rocks at my window. I was a bit shocked when I found out that the person throwing rocks at my window was Percy soaked from his head to toes, I thought that he was still mad at me.

"What are you doing?" I shouted, wondering if he could hear me over the rain.

Instead of answering, he walked so that he was right outside of my window with this head just over the ledge.

"Seaweed Brain, what are you doing? It's pouring outside you're going to be the one is the hospital instead of me," I scolded him, all anger lost at the moment.

"Well I don't know if I was allowed in the hospital cause of you know….." he looked down, his hair dripping water all over the floor.

"What that?" I noticed something behind him.

"Oh yeah. So I wanted to get you something and Katie told me that these were your favourite flowers," he shoved some flowers in my face.

"Um Percy, I know that flowers like water but isn't this a bit too much?" I noticed to the now dead flowers.

"Oh yeah, oops."

There was an awkward silence between us now, both of us not wanted to bring up the fight.

"Look Annabeth," Percy finally broke the silence. "I said a lot of things that if I could I would take back and I really regret it. Is there any way you can forgive me?"

"Percy, I don't know."

"Annabeth…. Please, you mean a lot to me and I don't want to lost our friendship."

"If it's our friendship I'll agree but Perce, being your fake girlfriend, it's too much for me, I can only be one or the other," I cringed at my words. I was just digging myself a bigger hole than what I was already in.

He then gave me a smile, I think it was a mix of a sad and hopeful one.

"Hey Annabeth, how was your spring break?" He asked.

I didn't say anything for a while, then taking a big breath I spoke. "It was amazing Percy, how was yours?"

"It was okay but I missed you a lot."

"Me too Perce, I missed you too."

"Hey come on, let's go get you checked out of this place."

"How about I get myself checked out and you go change into some dry clothes."

I ended up checking myself out of the hospital but then I remembered that I didn't have an umbrella and I had no idea where Percy was. But like a knight in shining armor, right in front of me was Percy with an umbrella.

We headed back to our dorm and I was surprised and happy when there was no Calypso there.

"She went back to her room," Percy answered my unasked question.

"Can we watch a movie," I asked. I wasn't in the mode to go read about the 19th century.

"Finding Nemo?" Percy asked. I rolled my eyes in agreement. He was just so predictable.

As we watched the movie I was wondering how in the world will I get the world's most oblivious person to realize my feelings for him. I guess we can't fix everything.

[A/N] To Caleo fans, unfortunately this story will feature Leyna BECAUSE it was planned before House of Hades was released, sorry about that. Okay don't worry Percabeth will come back and they'll be legit this time.
