Overtime Naomi gained enough strength to wash by herself and sit up for hours at a time. She could even walk short distances but easily grew tired. She had the oddest feeling that her weakened state was due to the pregnancy but she didn't mind recovery taking longer than it should for that reason. She was thrilled that she'd always have a reminder of Kaname even if he chose to stay with Yuki. She was slightly disappointed that he hadn't once stopped by to see her since she was taken to the nurse's office.

~The Day of the Ball ~

She heard a knock at her door and saw Sayori there with a box. She gratefully took the box from her and went to take a shower. After her shower she put on the dress, she was to wear and got back into her wheelchair. She so hated the chair but tolerated it for her baby's benefit the baby's health was the most important thing to her. She looked up at Doc saying, "I am ready to go."

Doc looked her over saying, "I think something is missing." He opened the door looking at Sayori asking, "What is missing?" Sayori rushed overlooking her over she fixed Naomi's hair some before applying some makeup. She smiled saying, "I believe she's fine now Doc."

Doc smiled Naomi did look at lot better now he knew she was pretty, but the makeup enhanced her natural beauty. Doc grinned saying, "I am a lucky guy I get to see everyone's face when they see you for the first time. I bet it will be priceless now if only I had a camera."

Sayori giggled saying, "I think Naomi is going to be the star of the ball." She walked next to Naomi as Doc pushed the wheelchair. They made their way to the where the ball was being held. Sayori went ahead through the open door, and then Doc wheeled Naomi into the room.

Headmaster Cross walked up to the wheelchair smiling saying, "Don't you look lovely Naomi. A healthy glow is returning to you I can see you are on the road to recovery. Please enjoy yourself, and talk to your classmates."

Headmaster Cross met all the people who entered the ball. Zero arrived with a sour look on his face Naomi looked at Sayori saying, "You must love him for his scowl it seems it's the only expression he has."

Sayori replied, "I guess I do but I also see a guy that is hurting and is afraid to let anyone get close." She sighed she wished Zero would quit pushing her away, but she could tell he seemed to like Yuki.

Naomi smiled at her saying, "You know our class president Kasumi Kageyama seems terribly lonely perhaps you should dance with him." She knew Sayori would take the hint to consider him to give her heart to.

Sayori nodded and went to ask Kasumi for a dance she figured one dance wouldn't hurt. Doc pushed Naomi back to where the night class was. Takuma noticed her first saying, "Naomi you look beautiful you should wear make-up more often."

Naomi blushed replying, "Thank you for the compliment Takuma I will think about it." She knew she looked better with make-up on but didn't like the added attention it created.

She watched as Yuki came into the room wearing the dress she had made. Yuki looked stunning in the dress she sighed hating for a moment how good it looked. She watched Yuki be greeted by Headmaster Cross and then head over to them. Yuki came over asking, "Can you tell me where Kaname is?"

Takuma said, "He's upstairs on the balcony." Before Yuki could leave Naomi added, "I suggest you think twice before you do anything Yuki."

Everyone looked at Naomi oddly she smiled saying, "I have a habit of being in the right place at the right time." None of them had any idea of what she was talking about but within moments Yuki ran by, and out of the ball.

Kaname came out from the balcony onto the top of the staircase. Once he was in view, Doc took Naomi's hand and stood her up holding her arm to help support her some. Takuma took her other arm causing her to smile. Kaname made his way down the stairs stopping at the bottom to view Naomi in the dress he had her make. He was surprised that she wore the dress after he broke his promise to her. She looked stunning even more breath-taking than Yuki had in her dress. For a moment everyone else was gone, and the only ones there were Naomi, and him. He finally regained the ability to speak saying, "You look lovelier than I had imagined in that dress."

Naomi blushed replying, "Thank you Kaname I wanted to finish my training after all the hard work you put in I didn't want to let you down." She wasn't sure what else to say to him, but he looked good it wasn't until that moment had she realized how much she missed him.

Kaname moved closer to her, he had missed being with her, and seeing her created a rush of feelings. He was so lost in the moment that he pulled her close, and kissed her passionately. This stunned both Takuma, and Doc who stepped back as Kaname wrapped his arm around her waist. He helped to support her weight during the kiss. Naomi was so stunned it took a few moments for her to respond. Within moments Kaname pulled away and took off out the door after Yuki.

Naomi was thankful her chair was right behind her, and she plopped down in it. She wondered for a moment what the heck happened as she was confused. It took her a moment before she figured out that he had left to make sure Yuki was ok. Perhaps she should have told Yuki to think three times seriously why didn't she just talk to Kaname about what was going on did she trust him that little. The kiss left her feeling hurt and confused by his actions. She wasn't sure if she wanted to have a relationship with him or not she knew if they did that there would be a lot of work to repair what was broken between them.
