Chapter 35: Ill Wind
Toby was asleep for most of the rest of the day, the spirit inside him having assimilated the Fallen Lords that morning. Waking up that evening, he noticed that one of the drawers on his bedside table was, strangely, slightly open. Maybe due to how tired he was in the morning, he missed it then, but now he could see that something wasn't right. There was something he needed to verify, so he yanked the drawer open and began scrounging through the report cards scattered inside. Nothing... this was strange, he was so sure that it was where he put the deck box. Maybe he misplaced them, maybe he put them under the bed with the large... no, it was gone too. "Yuina! Rebecca!" he yelled into the rest of the apartment.
"What is it Toby!" Yuina shouted, soon running into his room followed by a still sleepy Rebecca.
"Did you take the Blessing Cards and Hexagon Disk?"
"That large Duel Disk you brought back from Arcadia? No, we placed it under-"
"They're gone!"
"They're WHAT? Any leads?"
"I don't know. Last time I heard, Sayer and the Void's Warden were imprisoned by Security, and Sayaka hasn't shown any inclination of wanting to get them back."
"My people are still keeping a good eye on that Ryuunosuke kid, and he hasn't gotten into any more trouble. Rebecca, what about your parents?!"
"What ABOUT my parents. One was a traditionalist asshole and the other a tyrannical bitch rotting in jail," Rebecca mumbled.
"Was your father in on Priscilla's scheme?"
"Huh? No, otherwise he wouldn't have let her get away with asserting herself."
"What about those Rare Hunters?"
"I doubt that, they're safely away behind bars."
"Hold on, I think I know who we are looking for," Toby interjected. "I think our target is Sayer!"
"Why Sayer? Isn't he in the slammer?"
"I highly doubt that. Remember that dream we had where we were drained of our Psychic Powers?"
"When we were all on that strange tablet thing, yeah?"
"I saw the lights first shine on us, on the sections of that circle we were on. I remember I was blue, and Akiza was red."
"Can you just get to the point, Toby?" Yuina asked.
"When the lights vanished from our spots, Sayer's tablet section lit up with a green light. If we lost our powers that night, then he must have absorbed them."
"So? Even if he got back the powers you stole from him, he'd still have a hard time breaking out of prison."
"Not with all of the evacuation chaos, I don't think. With everyone scrambling to get out of the city before it gets destroyed, nobody would worry about leaving their doors locked or about any possessions that they couldn't carry or overlooked."
"Good catch, kid, but now we need to find some way of locating Sayer before the fist hits the stomach."
"Perhaps I may be of some service here," the voice of Lorna echoed from the walls.
"You're just a spirit infused into Toby's body. How can you help us?"
"I remember everyone I have ever 'corrected', and I recognise their auras. If I can just... yes, I've got a trail to follow. One caveat, Toby is the only one I can give my sight to, so you will have to follow him."
The sun was just starting to disappear beyond the horizon, but Toby on his Duel Board, followed by Yuina and Rebecca, looked at the trailing green mist he could see and sped in its direction. The search took them deep into Western Neo Domino, where they came upon a peculiar ruined building.
"The Arcadia Movement," Toby spoke, in a somewhat reverent voice.
"This is where our journeys started," Rebecca continued.
"...and to think that this is where we will end this whole world destruction business," Yuina finished. Dismounting their transports, the three of them tracked the mist up through the dilapidated underbelly, eventually reaching the roof where they found the golden Hexagon Duel Disk's central light glowing an eerie white color. From what they could see, there were cards inserted into five of the slots, glowing with a brown, yellow, red, blue and purple glow respectively.
"You three?" Sayer's voice rang out from the rooftop, him soon appearing by the Disk.
"Yes, us three!" Yuina spat. "You're fighting a losing battle here!"
"You seem to have made some attempt at being funny, but you're falling flat, Heitmann!"
"Do not call me that!"
"You're right; I shouldn't be taking the time to address failures by name. Those Sacred Beast holders were much more powerful Duelists than you will ever be, so I don't see why I should bother with you."
"Funny you should say that," Rebecca declared, "...because we are one and the same. What is really amusing is that I thought you knew that considering what you stole from us."
"They belonged to us originally. I just found these in an apartment and liberated them. They were rather poorly guarded."
"So you did break into our place," Toby barked. "We will defeat you just like we did before!"
"I don't think you can. You've never seen me use my truly ultimate monster."
"Why didn't you use it when we Dueled?"
"The time wasn't right; if I just up and blew my cover then, everything would fall into ruin, and we feared that we wouldn't be able to accomplish our goals. Quite ironic that Yliaster, in trying to supposedly protect the world, did most of our work for us! Now, even though none of our plans have been able to come to fruition, all it will take is one last Herald to empower my Blessing Card and finish the job!"
"We won't let you!" Rebecca shouted, donning and activating her Duel Disk.
"Yeah, you've already broken too many lives as it is!" Toby yelled, also activating his Disk.
"I can feel it in all of us," Yuina stated, activating her Disk as well. "This is also personal!"
"Fine, I will dispose of you weaklings," Sayer declared, activating his Duel Disk, "...and then I will finish what we started!"
"Duel!" was shouted by all four players, with each drawing their hand of five cards. Sayer went first, and activated Emergency Teleport, Special Summoning one Level 4 or lower Psychic-type monster from his Hand or Deck, choosing the Level 3 Tuner Psychic Commander (1400/800). After that, he summoned Star Glyph Core – Words of Guidance (1000/1000) in Attack mode, whereupon a large green, rock-like 5-point star descended from the sky. Its effect activated: if it was Normal Summoned, he could Normal Summon again this turn. With that, he summoned D.D. Telephon (500/1800), after which he Tuned his Level 4 Star Glyph Tabler to his Level 3 Psychic Commander, shouting "Black coals that remain scattered throughout this world, enter my heart and fuel the flames of my wrath!" to Synchro Summon his Level 7 Psychic Lifetrancer (2400/2000). The monsters, however, were still on the field.
"How?" Toby gasped. "Your monsters should be gone!"
"I also activated the effect of my Words of Guidance Tablet," Sayer declared, showing many of the glyphs in the slab lighting up with a bright green color. "If this card is used to Fusion Summon, Ritual Summon or Synchro Summon, I can place a Glyph Counter on the card to keep all of the monsters on the field afterwards! However, the Counter will only disappear during my second Standby Phase after activation, and as long as it has a Counter, it cannot activate that particular effect again."
Sayer continued, tuning his Level 2 D.D. Telepon to his Level 3 Psychic Commander, shouting "My flames of hatred, inflamed within the abyss of my heart, become the black raging waves that will overrun this world!" to Synchro Summon his Level 5 Magical Android (2400/1700). He then activated the effect of his Psychic Lifetrancer, removing from play his Psychic-type D.D. Telephon to gain 1200 Life Points and come to 5200
Lastly, he played the Spell Card Double Summon, allowing for a third Normal Summon this turn. With that, he summoned Glyph Tablet Hand – Words of Wisdom, and equipped it as an Equip Spell Card to his Star Glyph Tablet, whereupon a blue stone slab rammed into the right-hand side of the star, creating the impression of an incomplete circle. He placed the last card in his hand face-down and ended his turn, noting that because there were more than four players, he couldn't attack in the opening round. However, the effect of Magical Android activated: since there were four Psychic-type monsters on his field (even though one was treated as an Equip Card), he regained 600 Life Points per monster, granting 2400 Life Points to come to 7600. As this happened, a strong breeze blew over the roof.
Rebecca drew, placed a monster and a card face-down, ending with four cards in her hand.
Yuina's draw consisted of her summoning Miracle Jurassic Egg (0/2000) and placing two cards to end her turn with three in her hand. Toby did likewise, placing three cards face-down.
Sayer drew, and that was when the effects of his Glyph Tablet Hand – Words of Wisdom activated: during his Draw Phase, he could pay 1000 Life Points to draw as many extra cards as there were monsters equipped to the main Star Glyph Tablet. With this, he drew another card, and blue glyphs appeared over the tablet section. He summoned Glyph Tablet Grounding – Words of Resolve and equipped it as an Equip Spell Card to his main Glyph Tablet, whereupon a black tablet rammed into the star from the bottom. After that, he played Card of Demise to get a five-card hand in exchange for losing it in five turns, following up with a face-down card, a second Double Summon and a Glyph Tablet Sight – Words of Truth, equipping it as an Equip Spell Card to the Star Tablet, whereupon a yellow tablet rammed into the green star, opposite of the blue and black slabs. Now with 6600 Life Points, he had Psychic Lifetrancer remove Psychic Commander to regain 1200 Life Points and come to 7800 He ended his turn there, with Magical Android now recovering 3600 Life Points to bring him up to 11400, with two cards left in his hand and two face-down, with the winds starting to increase in strength to small gales. Toby was also getting increasingly concerned about the tablet monster; it looked almost exactly like the one in his dream.
Rebecca drew and revealed her face-down monster: Jowls of Dark Demise (200/100), activating its effect to grab control of one of Sayer's monsters for the turn, choosing Psychic Lifetrancer. However, this was when Sayer activated the effects of the Words of Truth tablet he had: he paid 1000 Life Points to come to 10400, and he could negate as many effects as there were Glyph Tablet monsters equipped to the Star Glyph Tablet until his next Standby Phase, granting him three negations and causing yellow-shining glyphs to appear on the tablet section. One negation was used to stop the effect of her Jowls, whereupon its dark tongue shone yellow and thrashed around before retracting into its mouth.
With that strategy blocked, she used her Polymerization to fuse her Maiden in Love and Succubus Knight cards to form Succubus Temptress (2000/1500) and attacked the Star Glyph Core, activating her monster's effect. Unfortunately, Sayer used the second of the three negations he had to shut down that ability as well, forcing the two monsters to battle. He, however, activated the ability of his Glyph Tablet Grounding – Words of Resolve, paying 1000 Life Points to come to 9400 and negate his monster's destruction as many times as there were Glyph Tablet monsters equipped to the Star Glyph Core. In addition, he took no Battle Damage from the battle. With that, the inscriptions on the black section glowed a faint white color, the attack failed with the Succubus, head shining yellow, plunged into a black fog before getting blasted back by a gust of wind, and no Battle Damage was dealt. Rebecca ended her turn, her hand holding two cards.
Yuina was next, and she used Polymerization to fuse the Gilasaurus and the Kaitoptera in her hand and form Horned Saurus (2000/1000). Due to two Dinosaurs being sent to the Graveyard, Miracle Jurassic Egg got four counters, and one card was left in her hand.
"Do you really expect that runt to stand up to my monsters?" Sayer scoffed.
"Yes I do, with this: Torturous Jurassic Hunger!" Yuina declared. "All of my Dinosaurs are now reduced to 0 Defense and add their loss to their Attack points!"
"I activate the effects of my Words of Truth to negate the activation of that effect! Your Spell Card stays in play, but is now useless until my next Standby Phase, since it is continuous."
"Perfect. Now you are all out of negations. During the turn it is summoned, Horned Saurus can attack directly!"
The strike, since it wasn't targeting his Monsters, succeeded in reducing Sayer's Life Points by 2000 to 7400. She ended her turn, her hand empty. Toby took over, and he placed a card face-down, now having four Set on the field, and ended his turn with three cards in hand.
Sayer drew to hold four cards, whereupon the green glyphs on the Glyph Tablet Core vanished: he could activate its effect again. He revealed his Trap, Raigeki Break, discarding one card to destroy one card on the field, choosing one of Toby's set cards: Flashbang. After that came another Emergency Teleport, again face-down, Special Summoning the Level 2 Krebons from his Deck, which was then tuned with the Level 4 Star Tablet again. Sayer began shouting "Black winds who whisper into mankind's ears, deliver unto them my message of my inevitable victory!" to Synchro Summon the Level 6 Psychic Nightmare (2400/1800). Since the Tablet was used in Synchro Summon, neither it nor the Tuner were sacrificed, but it had now got green glowing glyphs again. He then tuned the Psychic Nightmare to Krebons, shouting "Surge, my black mist of vengeance!" to Synchro Summon the Level 8 Thought Ruler Archfiend (2700/2300). He played Pot of Greed for two cards, activated Psychic Lifetrancer's effect to remove Krebons and gain 1200 Life Points to come to 8600, and placed two cards face-down to end his turn with one card in hand. This time, since he controlled seven Psychic monsters (3 being treated as Equip Cards), he gained 4200 Life Points, coming to 12800.
Rebecca took over then with three cards, gaining the card she needed. She summoned Grinder Golem (3000/3000) to Sayer's field, gaining two Grinder Tokens on her own (0/0) and used Change of Heart to steal the Golem. With the last card in her hand, she Tributed the Tokens and her Jowls of Dark Demise to summon Raviel, Lord of Phantasms (4000/4000), which emerged in a flood of blue light, and activated its ability. She Tributed the Grinder Golem to give it the monster's 3000 ATK, and attacked Magical Android. Sayer's Draining Shield activated, negating the attack and adding the ATK to his Life Points, bringing them to 19800. She ended her turn there with an empty hand, beginning to feel somewhat despondent.
Yuina began her turn with a Graceful Charity, drawing three cards and discarding two. She got exactly what she needed, as she had discarded two Dinosaurs and drawn Card of Demise. Activating it, she got a five-card hand in exchange for losing it in five turns, and her Egg counters were up to 8. Due to this, she Tributed it to Special Summon Super Conductor Tyranno (3300/1400) from her Deck. She also summoned The Trojan Horse (1600/1200) and Tributed it, treating it as two for an EARTH monster, to summon Ultimate Tyranno (3000/2200). One Double Summon and Babycerasaurus (500/500) later, and she activated her face-down Skull Lair. She banished five monsters from her Graveyard to destroy a monster with the same Level, destroying Magical Android. After that, she used the ability of her Super Conductor Tyranno to destroy Babycerasaurus and deal 1000 damage to Sayer, leaving him on 18800 Life Points, after which the destroyed monster activated its effect, Special Summoning Tyranno Infinity (?/0) from her Deck. This new monster gained 1000 ATK for each Removed from Play dinosaur, amounting to five and making it have 5000 ATK. In addition, her Torturous Jurassic Hunger reactivated, making her Ultimate Tyranno have 5200 ATK, her Super Conductor Tyranno have 4700 ATK and her Horned Saurus have 3000 ATK.
She attacked, first with her Ultimate Tyranno, but Sayer revealed his own Rescuer from the Grave, removing from play five cards in the Graveyard to negate the attack and end the Battle Phase. She ended her turn with a face-down card. Toby drew, finally getting a useful card. He played Pot of Greed for two cards and placed two cards face-down to end his turn, filling up his Spell and Trap Zones and leaving him with three cards in his hand again.
Sayer's turn came with a third card in hand, and the blue, white and yellow glowing glyphs faded. He activated the ability of his Glyph Tablet Section – Words of Wisdom to pay 1000 Life Points (17800) and draw three extra cards, with the blue glyphs glowing . The first card played was Monster Reborn, reviving Psychic Nightmare, and the second was Glyph Tablet Fist – Words of Wrath. This equipped to the main Star Glyph Tablet, with a red tablet ramming into place between the yellow and the black on the left-hand side. He paid 1000 Life Points, after which the glyphs on the red stone tablet started glowing with a bright red color, and revealed his other face-down: Battle Teleportation, allowing one monster to attack directly. He chose his main Tablet, and with the effects of Words of Wrath, he could attack as many additional times as he had Words monsters equipped. This gave him a total of five attacks, and he targeted Yuina for five direct attacks, shouting "Attack! Misguiding Whispers!". A large whirlwind appeared in front of the tablet, and headed straight for Yuina.
Toby revealed one face-down, Back-Attack Ambush, Special Summoning four Ambush Tokens since Sayer had five monsters in his Monster Card Zones. The Tokens were immediately Tributed to deal 500 damage each, bringing Sayer down to 14300 Life Points from 16800 and end the Battle Phase. Sayer's turn ended after placing a card face-down.
Rebecca drew, Raviel having summoned three Phantasm Tokens (1000/1000) to fill up her Monster Zones since Sayer summoned three monsters, and she used Card of Sanctity to make everyone draw until holding six cards. Once that was done, she used her Succubus Temptress to return the Change of Heart in her Graveyard to her hand, after which she attacked Psychic Lifetrancer with Raviel, Lord of Phantasms. Sayer was already three times higher than his starting Life Points, so they had to stop increasing. The attack went through, with him taking 1600 points of damage, an reducing him to 12700. She placed a card face-down to end her turn, her second face-down on the field.
Yuina drew, and due to her new seven-card hand, she was actually able to do something. She placed two cards face-down and sacrificed those two Spell Cards, Vengeful Servant and Cost Down, along with Torturous Jurassic Hunger to summon Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder (4000/4000) from an iceberg that suddenly appeared on her field. First, her Ultimate Tyranno attacked, but Sayer revealed Negate Attack, ending the Battle Phase. Her hand ended with four cards
Toby drew, also getting what he needed. He still had four face-downs on the field, but he played one more face-down and sacrificed two Trap Cards, Joyful Doom, Bad Reaction to Simochii and Cemetery Bomb to summon Uria, Lord of Searing Flames (?/0), which gained 5000 ATK due to there being five Traps in his Graveyard, the remaining two being Flashbang and Back-Attack Ambush. He knew that attacking the Words monster would be pointless because it could now negate its own destruction again, so instead he opted for Thought Ruler Archfiend, dealing 2300 damage to Sayer and bringing him to 10400 Life Points. His turn ended there, with five cards in his hand.
Sayer drew, with the green glyphs on his monster vanishing, and grinned. He used the Spell Card Polymerization to fuse his Psychic Nightmare with his Star Glyph Tablet and Fusion Summon Ultimate Axon Kicker (2900/1700). Due to the Star Glyph Tablet's glyphs now vanishing, the Fusion Summon could happen while keeping both monsters on the field, after which the green glyphs reappeared.
Once that was done, he played a second Monster Reborn, returning Magical Android. After that, he played a third Double Summon to gain the right to Normal Summon twice, summoned Glyph Tablet Cloak – Words of Secrecy and equipped it as an Equip Spell Card to the Star Glyph Tablet. As this happened, a purple slab rammed into the green star on the right-hand side between the blue and black sections, and with that, the star now resembled a circle. The gales were now fierce, and on the streets below, possessions were starting to fly around. For his second Normal Summon, he summoned Armored Axon Kicker (2200/1800), normally a Level 6, but could be summoned without Tributes since Sayer controlled a Psychic-type monster.
He attacked Rebecca's Succubus with his Ultimate Axon Kicker and activated the ability of his Words of Truth section, having it gain yellow glyphs and the ability to now negate up to five effects until Sayer's next Standby Phase, negating the 'Seduction' ability used by the target. Rebecca's monster was destroyed, she was reduced to 3100 Life Points and Sayer gained 2000 Life Points to come to 11400 due to his monster's effect. Rebecca revealed her Cross Heart trap, but the ability of the Words of Secrecy activated: she had to pay Life Points in multiples of 100 per every Words monster equipped to the Star Glyph Tablet to not have the card negated. After paying 500 Life Points and making Sayer climb to 11900, her Trap continued to activate, but was negated with the second charge from Words of Truth. There wasn't anything more he could attack without wasting damage, so he ended his turn with two cards in hand. Now, with all of his Zones filled with monsters (five being treated as Equip Cards), he gained 6000 Life Points from Magical Android, coming to 17900. The purple tablet had also started glowing with bright purple glyphs since 500 Life Points were gained from this effect.
Rebecca drew, with only one Monster Card zone free and seven cards in her hand. She used Monster Reborn (paying 500 Life Points to Sayer to stop its negation, leaving her on 2100 from 2600 and Sayer on 18400) to revive Grinder Golem (3000/3000). Raviel's effect activated, Tributing the Grinder Golem to give itself 3000 ATK, along with a Phantasm Token for its 1000 ATK, and she activated her Trap, Dark Spirit Art – Greed (reducing her Life Points to 1600 and increasing Sayer's to 18900), to Tribute her Jowls of Dark Demise and draw two cards, one of which caused the Sigils on her, Yuina and Toby's hands to shine even brighter. She had drawn Restoration to Divinity: Raviel, and activated it, paying 500 Life Points to Sayer, coming to 1100 and him coming to 19400. She could remove any number of monsters in her Graveyard to her Deck to have Raviel, Lord of Phantasms gain their ATK and DEF. She removed her Succubus Temptress with 2000 ATK, Maiden in Love with 400, Jowls of Dark Demise with 200, Succubus Knight with 1650 ATK and her Grinder Golem with 3000. This brought Raviel up to 15250 ATK, with a blue aura emanating from it and its claws glowing a bright blue. She attacked the Ultimate Axon Kicker with 'Vengeful Cleansing Slash, dealing 5100 damage to Sayer to leave him on 7050 Life Points. Her turn ended at that point with a face-down card and six cards in hand.
Yuina drew, and had Ultimate Tyranno attack everything first. The remaining monsters on Sayer's field were the Armored Axon Kicker (2200), the Magical Android (2400), the Psychic Lifetrancer (2400) and the Star Glyph Tablet: Words of Guidance (1000). Her 3000 ATK dinosaur destroyed all save the Glyph Tablet, with Sayer taking 2000 Battle Damage to come to 5050 Life Points. He, however, activated the effects of his Glyph Tablet Section – Words of Resolve to pay 1000 Life Points (4050 remaining) and negate its destruction as many times as there were Glyph monsters. Now, none of Yuina's other monsters could destroy it as they would just deplete its charges, but she pressed on with Super Conductor Tyranno, Tyranno Infinity, Horned Saurus and Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder she ended her turn, with five cards in hand.
Toby drew to hold six cards, and activated the Lost Paradise Field Spell Card, paying 500 Life Points to Sayer to prevent the negation of its effect, coming to 3500 and him to 4550. With this, as long as players had a Sacred Beast on their field, they could add two cards to their hand. He placed two cards into his hand and played Card Destruction, paying 500 Life Points again to come to 3000 and Sayer to 5050 to stop the negation, forcing everyone to discard their hands and draw an equal amount. Sayer discarded and drew two, Rebecca six, Yuina five and Toby six. The cards Toby discarded were Energy-absorbing Monolith, Nightmare Mirror, Solemn Wishes, Staunch Defender, Destruction Jammer and Disgraceful Charity, bringing Uria up to 11000 ATK.
He attacked Sayer's Star Glyph Tablet with Uria's Hyper Blaze, but a card activated from Sayer's Graveyard: Psychic Resonance Barrier. If a Psychic-type monster was due to be destroyed, the card's destruction was negated, as was any Battle or Effect Damage until the End Phase. This card could only activate from the Graveyard if there were five or more Psychic-type monsters there and it was subsequently removed from play. He ended his turn.
Sayer drew, with the Dark Blue glyphs vanishing. His Standby Phase then came, and with it, the effect of Glyph Tablet Cloak – Words of Secrecy activated: if it had a Glyph Counter during the Standby Phase, then it can remove all Glyph Counters on the field. All shining glyphs on the tablet vanished, whereupon Sayer started laughing.
"What's so funny?" Yuina scoffed.
"Now, since my WIND Words of Guidance is equipped with my WATER Words of Wisdom, EARTH Words of Resolve, FIRE Words of Wrath, DARK Words of Secrecy and LIGHT Words of Truth and they don't have any Glyph Counters, I can remove all of the above monsters from the game. As more words travel along the winds, the words increase in power, and evolve to guide mortals to open the way for their masters!" The tablet lit up with green glyphs, red glyphs, yellow glyphs, blue glyphs, dim white glyphs and purple glyphs, all of which changed color to a pure white, changing the complete circular tablet to a pure white as well. "I Special Summon the DIVINE Psychic-type Complete Star Glyph Tablet – Words of Inevitability!"
The beast appeared with 1000 ATK and DEF. Upon its appearance, massive tornadoes began forming in the city, and there was already debris flying around. He activated a Spell Card from his Graveyard: Psychic Energy Absorbtion. He could select three Psychic-type monsters in his Graveyard and remove them from play to gain Life Points equal to their Attack points. However, if he was willing to instead remove two, he could activate the card from his Graveyard and remove it from play. He removed his Ultimate Axon Kicker (2900) and Thought Ruler Archfiend (2700) to gain 5600 Life Points and come to 10650 Life Points. Right then, he activated the Forbidden Substance Spell Card, allowing him to attack twice, and attacked Rebecca's Raviel, Lord of Phantasms with his new monster.
"Nice try, but you're just asking to lose Life Points!" Rebecca shouted as Raviel prepared to strike back.
"The effect of my Complete StarGlyph Tablet – Words of Inevitability activates!" Sayer declared. "If I attack a monster, once per turn, I can automatically destroy the monster without applying Damage Calculation. Raviel is automatically destroyed: Finality Cyclone!"
A large whirlwind appeared around Raviel, shredding it to pieces.
"And now, I can also negate my monster's effect to access the abilities of my banished Glyph Tablet monsters to attack you directly. Battering Twister!"
The attack brought Rebecca down to 100 Life Points. Sayer activated another Card of Demise, drawing five cards but discarding in five turns, and placed two cards face-down.
Rebecca drew, but was unable to play anything. Sayer then revealed two extra copies of Raigeki Break, discarding two cards to destroy Ultimate Tyranno and Super Conductor Tyranno on Yuina's field.
Yuina, after drawing her sixth card, used the effects of Lost Paradise to draw two more cards since she controlled Hamon. One card was Restoration to Divinity: Hamon, which she paid Sayer 500 Life Points to activate, bringing her to 3500 and him to 11150 Life Points. With this, she removed ten Spell Cards in her Graveyard from play: Torturous Jurassic Hunger, Jurassic Meat Shields, Graceful Charity, Card of Demise, Polymerization, Vengeful Servant, Cost Down, and cards discarded which included Card Destruction, Jurassic World and Soul Release, after which Hamon started glowing with a yellow aura. After that, she attacked the Complete Glyph Tablet with Hamon's 'Purging Thunder of Punishment', whereupon the lightning Hamon shot to the sky was colored yellow instead of blue, and ten bolts of lightning struck Sayer while another couple struck his monster.
"What... happened?" Sayer gasped.
"For each Spell Card I returned to the Deck, when Hamon attacks, you take 1000 points of damage. Since I removed ten, that means a grand total of 10000 points," Yuina gloated, as their opponent was now hanging on by 1150 Life Points. The Complete Glyph Tablet – Words of Inevitability still had its effect, and it activated the effect of the removed Words of Resolve to negate its destruction five times until the next Standby Phase. With that, Hamon, Tyranno Infinity and Horned Saurus failed to destroy it.
Toby drew, and his card also glowed: Restoration to Divinity: Uria. Playing it and reducing his Life Points to 2500 and Sayer to 1650, Uria glowed with a bright red aura. Toby returned his Flashbang, Joyful Doom and Bad Reaction to Simochii Traps to his Deck, reducing Uria to 8000 ATK but giving it that many extra attacks. He then attacked Sayer's monster with Uria's 'Purifying Blaze', where pure ruby-red flames shot from its mouth as opposed to orange flames. Sayer's monster used up its fourth and fifth destruction negations, but there was one more attack. Another barrage of pure red flames started to crack the tablet, and it eventually shattered, leaving Sayer to be exposed to the massive inferno of the fourth and final attack which took off his remaining 1650 Life Points.
