~Rose's Pov~

A deep voice broke my angry thoughts for a second "So this is where you have been my little princess…" his eyes stared through me as he spoke "Yes grandfather… why are you here?" I spoke through my teeth trying to keep calm. His eyes finally focused on me when I asked that question "It hurts me you ask such a question. I came to check on my lovely granddaughter…" his voice faked sincerity.

*Really! You haven't gave a damn for years!* my mouth formed a straight line at his reason. Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath "That is a fuckin lie. Do NOT try and act concerned for me!" my hands balled up into a fist as I whispered angrily to him. "You could not give a damn about me, so I'll ask again, Grandfather…what do you want? You seem to only appear when it is beneficial to you…" opening my eyes to give the coldest glare I could muster up at the older man in front of me.

His concerned look quickly vanished as he gripped his cane tighter. Casting his head downward as a smirk greeted his face "Just like your mother…" then looks up straight at me with dead eyes. "Yes just like her…both so stubborn and blunt to a point. Fine then… I'm here because it is time to stop this nonsense" His voice held no emotion as he spoke. *This nonsense* keeping my gaze on him "Thanks, now what is it?" crossing my arms in front of my chest.

"Since you are older now it is time for you to prepare to take over the family business…" he continues to go on about how since I am their only child that it is my duty to step in and run the business along with "…I have some great suitors who would be beneficial to help the business grow when you marry them" he spoke as if nothing he just said was no big deal. *Suitors! Marriage! What the fuck! I am only in high school* I panicked as my eyes widen at this information and it only infuriated me more "NO!" I shouted suddenly at him with such anger in my voice he stopped mid-sentence and looked at me.

"I maybe their only child together, but dad has a son, my brother, who wants to take over the business because he likes it…not me. Also how can you act like giving me away to a complete stranger is like a business deal! Neither of my parents wanted that life, and so do I!" tighten my fist I could feel my nails draw blood from my palms as my entire body started to shake.

He was about to speak up and seemed pissed off, but I continued on "This is my life and I will live how I want! I will not bend to your will…this discussion is over NOW!" my eyes sharpened along with my voice. My Grandfather shuts his mouth, which caused it to for just a line, then became a frown "Fine… if that is what you want I will leave" then turned around to walk to his car. The driver was already there holding the door open for him, he then suddenly stops "Just remember Princess…I tried the easy way. THIS is not over" then climbed into the car.

The driver gave me a quick apologetic look as he went to go into the driver seat. I stood there firm in my spot as I watched the car disappear into the night. Closing my eyes, I let out a deep sigh and aloud my shoulders to droop.

I turned away from the street and started heading inside back into my home. Quietly closing the door and locking it, I headed to my downstairs bathroom. Flicking on the light I looked into the mirror to see my face was looking very pale and drained. My hazel eyes stared back at me and held a swirl of emotions before drifting down to my hands. The middle of my palms had a bit of blood on them from my fingernails digging into the palms. Turning on the faucet I washed my hands off to find that the injuries were not as bad as I thought once all the blood was gone. Splashing some water on my face, then drying my face and hands before leaving the bathroom.

Laying outside the bathroom door was Ludwig, who lifted his head up at me when he heard me move. Kneeling down I petted his head "Hey, I'm alright buddy" Ludwig started to lick my arm to make me feel better causing me to smile *Thanks Ludwig…* I held back some tears as I stood up. I walked back to the living room with Ludwig in tow, reaching the fort I crawled in to see Bella curled up next to Lily, then Ludwig went and laid down next to Harry. Getting comfy in my spot I shut my eyes only to get flashbacks of the events that just happened outside.

*Just when the light is shining bright, shadows will always follow after* I frowned at my thought when I felt something heavy lay down on my chest. Opening one eye to see two bright green eyes reflecting in the dark starring down at me "Hey Starlight" I whispered to her before shutting my eye again. Drifting into a slumber I heard her let out a soft 'Meow' and purr before I completely let myself go to dreamland.

~Grandfathers Pov~

After leaving that senseless girls house I was absolutely furious *Just like her stubborn mother…she cannot see that she would be a better heir to the company than that bastard of a sibling* I gripped my cane tighter as I remembered her words. "My dear sweet Granddaughter this is not the end… You will become the heir, thus causing me not only to control you, but the company as well" a smirk greeted my face *I'll find your weakness so you won't have any other choice…* then chuckled to myself as we pulled up to the hotel I was staying at.
