Ah, but you never know with me…

AlphaTrion3145: Back to school? In the beginning of July?

We have different school holidays compared to you guys in the US. We don't get the whole summer off.

Shadow Katakura: I always think Optimus is epic in that scene.

So do I!

LoveSummerWind: I had one of those mometns where your like…mannnnn it was short

Writer's block. What can you do?

Awesomo3000: Another awesome chapter, mon ami! :D And… OH, MY GOD, THIS IS THE GREATEST EPISODE I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!

All the episodes are pretty great in my opinion. But…you're right about that. The season 1 finale's pretty awesome. I was actually wondering how season 2 would top that. Now…I'm wondering about season 3!

Stopmotiontk421: Good chapter, and see ya when you get back!_

I haven't left that. I posted that author's note thinking I wouldn't have it up until then.

rsdk525: recommend the touch by stan bush for the next chapter

Wrong story, mate.

Girl Supersonicboy: Great chptrs!

Megatron is SO going to be sorry for messing with Optimus' baby girl.

I hope Ratchet and the others will be able to find out and handle with Lida's problem.

Can't wait for the next chptr. It's going to be awesome I bet. Like always.

I wouldn't hold your breath.

blake b: I read your page. Your anti abortion? Man I have an even better opinion of you than I already did!

I believe that even when it is in the womb, a baby is life. Abortion is murder because you're taking a life. However, if the mother was sick or something happened that made carrying the baby to term a life-or-death situation for the mother and/or the baby, I'd understand. That's the only way I'd ever condone it.

Transformers: Prime rightfully belongs to Hasbro and The Hub.

© Talida and other OCs rightfully belong to me unless I say otherwise.

ENJOY!

Ratchet was helpless as he watched June begin to work on Talida. Desperately, she was trying to stabilize the girl he loved in order to eventually save her life. Hearing June say how her methods weren't working scared him to death. His spark whirred in sadness and even though they weren't bonded, he felt like a part of him was slowly dying with her.

He had never thought that the fourteen-year-old girl who rode into the base on Arcee wearing her smile and with a fearless attitude would become his everything. He never imagined how quickly and how hard he would fall for her. He never imagined there was the slightest possibility that she felt the same way. There were a million things that Ratchet didn't think were remotely possible. Talida made it all possible.

To have it end like this would kill him.

"Ratchet, how is Talida?"

If watching how weak his girlfriend was didn't kill him, the desperation in Optimus' voice would. The only times Optimus is desperate is if Arcee and Talida were in danger. It only made the situation more of a living nightmare.

"It's too soon to tell," Ratchet chose his words carefully.

"She's in good hands."

"Not mine, Optimus. Curse my Cybertronian pride! We've accepted these humans into our lives. Yet I bothered to learn so little of their science nor medicine! Even after what happened last time…," Ratchet trailed off, sobs threatening to choke him.

"Pull yourself together, old friend. My daughter needs you!"

"And I have grown to need her," Ratchet choked as he gazed at Talida lying unconscious and looking so…deathly on the bed.

"Lock onto my coordinates and activate the GroundBridge."

Trembling legs carried Ratchet towards the controls for the GroundBridge. Trembling hands pulled down the lever, forcing the light to fill the corridor. Blurry vision saw Bulkhead race through the GroundBridge with the power source.

"How is she?" Bulkhead asked worriedly.

"It's not looking good," Miko answered sadly.

"Oh no," June muttered in horror as she removed her stethoscope from Talida's chest, "Her pulse rate's more erratic than before. Jack! Help me get your sister to the car! She's going to the emergency room!"

"Nurse Darby, your doctors won't be able to comprehend what's inflicting her. Nor her biological structure, which has changed since her hit-and-run accident. Not without a decade of study," Ratchet objected.

"I don't have time to argue!" June snapped.

"The affects of an Energon blast on an Autobot can be devastating enough! But this is a techno-organic!" Ratchet rambled before noticing something on the screen and realizing what exactly is ailing her, "I'm not getting any readings! How can I not have seen this?!"

"Seen what?!" Arcee demanded.

"Talida's been affected with Dark Energon!" Ratchet decreed.

Everyone immediately turned to face Ratchet, horror and disbelief on their faces. The effects of Dark Energon on an Autobot were horrific and dangerous enough. Even being in close proximity of it would leave them drained and close to death. But Dark Energon on a techno-organic?! It was worse than the affects on an Autobot.

Unless a cure could be found soon, Talida would remain in a comatose state…

Maybe even die.

Ratchet immediately raced forward and ran another scan on Talida, explaining, "If Dark Energon is devouring Talida from the inside out, we must expel it and fast! The only possible way I know! I NEED ENERGON!"

That cause June to perk up in protest.

"Wait! You said that Energon was devastating to humans!" June objected.

"Talida is a techno-organic born to parents that have Energon flowing in their veins. She has the ability to adapt to any world and its biomechanics. The only way Energon would have a devastating effect on her is if she was hit by an Energon blast in battle and that would be because she has no Energon in her system," Ratchet clarified as he grabbed two vials and syringes – one pair Cybertronian-sized, the other human sized, "Because of the fact she went almost 15 years with no Energon in her system, we have to introduce it gradually. Introducing enough supply to make up for the time at once wouldn't give her body time to adjust to the chemical change and it could potentially kill her."

"Where are you going to get the Energon?!" Jack demanded, close to freaking out, "You guys have enough of a short supply as it is!"

"A transfusion," Ratchet shrugged casually, "All I need is Energon from a family member."

"I'll do it," Arcee immediately decreed as she stepped forward and held her arm out.

Ratchet knew better than to argue with a mother whose daughter was injured. Trying to do so would only lead to bodily injury on him. Grabbing the Cybertronian syringe, he approached Arcee and stuck the syringe into her arm. Arcee didn't feel the pain of the syringe being shoved into one of her arm cables. She watched with determination as her own Energon filled the giant vial.

"Nurse Darby, I'll need an intravenous tube!" Ratchet barked.

June nodded, quickly going through her bag for the tube Ratchet requested. Within moments, she managed to find it and she passed it to Jack to inject. Carefully, the black-haired teen pressed the end of the needle into the crease of her arm where Ratchet instructed, directly into her blood vein. Turning to Ratchet, Jack nodded, indicating that everything was set up.

"We don't have much time," Ratchet muttered, activating his holoform.

He grabbed the syringe he had already filled with some of Arcee's Energon and sped to Talida's bedside. Grabbing the intravenous tube in his hand, he quickly shoved the needle into the tube with his free hand and pressed the plunger. Carefully, he watched the Energon leave the barrel, spill into the tube and eventually enter her bloodstream.

Ratchet stood there panting for a few moments, trying to calm his rapid spark rate. Everyone else just stood by, holding their breath, praying for the best. Trembling, he reached his hand towards Talida's pulse point on her neck. From where he was standing, with Talida's head lolled to the side and her left arm draped across her stomach, she almost looked peaceful.

He pressed two fingers to the pulse point on her neck and left them there. He closed his eyes and allowed himself to focus all of his attention on her heartbeat. He heard her erratic heartbeat and could have sworn he felt his spark fracture slightly. It hadn't worked. He thought it would. But it hadn't.

Then…

Thought I'd leave this gift for you before I left for retreat this week. Man… I'm so evil!

There'll definitely be NO updates until this weekend at the latest! Depending on whether or not writer's block decides to leave me alone.

You guys should know what to do by now. Review. Fave. Alert. Whatever.
