My Name is...
The manager slid the scissors across the top of the box. He pulled the flaps open as the tape was severed open. The animatronics and other humans watch in anticipation as Mr. Reynolds moved from one side to the other. Once the manager had opened the box completely except for the front flap, the manager stepped to the side for everyone to see.
"Everyone, welcome... to the past." The manager said as he flipped the final flap to the ground. This revealed a dusty and dirty gold bunny animatronic. However, it was in awful condition. It was in a crouched position. It was missing patches of fur everywhere. Wires were protruding from multiple places as well. It was missing one of its ears as well, being reduced to a small stub. It also had a very creepy, worn, and torn grin that stretched across his muzzle.
"Wh-wh-what is that?" Freddy muttered.
"This is the first animatronic. The first one of Fredbear's Family Diner." Mr. Reynolds said.
"Fredbear's Diner?" Teddy repeated. "That was the restaurant my family and I were created in."
"Yes, this was the one before you, along with another one. The other one, I believe was destroyed." The manager stated.
"Does that one... work?" Thomas asked.
"I highly doubt it. It hasn't been inactive for thirty years." Mr. Reynolds replied. The teen walked up to the completely decrepit animatronic, curious in a multitude of ways. He touched the nose of the animatronic abomination.
"It is so old... So amazing though." Thomas murmured to himself, loud enough that everyone could hear him, however. Even though it was so old and decrepit, the animatronic seemed just as lively as the others. A sudden click sounded, captivating everyone's attention.
"What was that?" Rick asked quickly.
"Was that one of you guys?" Shya asked the animatronics on the stage. All of them shook their heads. The group slowly shifted their vision in the direction of the dilapidated and doddering animatronic sitting in the center of the room. The click sounded again, startling everyone this time. Then, a horse and raspy voice was heard, speaking softly, "Old... dirty... decrepit!? Is that all that can describe me!?" Everyone jumped back from the the animatronic.
"I-is it... talking?" Mike muttered.
"IT!?" The voice shouted, much angrier than before. "All you can call me is an it!? That's the equivalent to an abomination!" The animatronic shifted tirelessly attempting to get to its feet. "Look, I know I'm ugly! I know I'm probably the most hideous thing you'll ever lay eyes on! But I have feelings! Those words hurt! I don't want to hear that! I'm not some decrepit robot that you can toss around all like I'm some piece of trash! The next one to treat me like that, will get a face load of fists!" Everyone was standing far away from the, what-was-supposed-to-be-dead-and-inactive-animatronic-that-is-now-standing-seven-feet-tall-over-everyone, decrep- I mean, awesome animatronic.
"Um M-Mr. Reynolds?" Freddy stuttered. "I thought you said that thing was inactive."
"THING!? I'M A THING NOW!" the tall dusty robot angrily trudged over to Freddy. Everyone instantly ran away from Freddy, leaving the bear backing into a wall by himself, whimpering and knees shaking. The tall animatronic grabbed Freddy by his bow tie and pulled him up, which was technically choking him.
"Listen here, you crappy brown fat bear! I said that the next one to call me anything hurtful would get a face load of fists! And you're gonna be the first!" He growled. Freddy covered his face with both of his hands, afraid for his life.
"H-hey buddy, wait!" Tg yelled, just as the tall bunny animatronic held its fist hovering over Freddy's stomach. "H-hi... Ahem, m-my names... the names Gregory, but call me Tg." The red-cheeked gold bear held out his paw. The tall animatronic stared at Tg blankly, who released an awkward chuckle. "C-c'mon dude, don't leave me hanging." He stammered, his voice was high pitched and full of worry and trepidation. The bunny animatronic placed Freddy back on the ground and walked toward Tg. Freddy practically fainted as he hit the ground. Tg stood as still and firm as he could, all while attempting to keep a fearful yet warm smile on his face.
"You-y-yo-you seem-you... aw *censored* haha, you got me stutterin'." Tg laughed awkwardly, still holding out his paw. The red-cheeked gold bear cleared his throat and smiled the same fearful and warm one as before.
"Tg, huh?" The gold bunny uttered quietly. "What's it stand for?"
"T-t-Toy Goldy." Tg answered shyly, his paw still fully extended. The gold bunny finally shook Tg's paw with his own.
Tg sighed in relief, "Great, what's your name?" The animatronic didn't answer, it just had a blank expression hidden behind that creepy grin. "Don't have one?" He shook his head.
"Freddy, get up." Teddy said, pulling his counterpart to his feet.
"Th-that had to have been... the most frightening moment of my life." Freddy muttered. "I'm surprised I didn't wet myself." Teddy chuckled a bit and dusted Freddy off.
"So, do you have a name?" Riomei asked as everyone slowly closed the gap of space between them and the gold bunny.
"I did have a name." He said.
"Did?' You don't have one anymore?" Wan questioned.
"Well..." The gold bunny muttered.
"Yes, he has a name." Goldy said. Everyone turned around to face the gold bear.
"Oh, you know what it is?" Chica asked. Goldy nodded silently.
"What is it?" Teddie implored.
"It's... Springtrap." Goldy answered. No one noticed the change in Goldy's voice. The gold bunny seemed to wince at the words.
"Springtrap? What kind of name is that?" Plonk asked.
"It's his name." Goldy snapped.
Freddy gave his brother a questionable look, "Goldy? Are you alright?"
"I'm fine." Goldy replied bluntly.
"Wait a sec, how did you know his name, Goldy?" Chira asked.
"Because... the second animatronic who was with him when he was activated... was me." Goldy said with a growl.
"Wait wait wait, what!? You were the other animatronic!?" Roxy cried. Goldy's expression was angry, dull, and stern. He seemed as if the entire conversation brought out a deep anger. The gold bear nodded silently again.
"Wait a minute, that means you're the older brother." Freddy said.
"Technically, we're not even brothers." Goldy retorted.
"Gold? Wha' are ye talkin' abou'?" Foxy asked.
"Quit calling me that. It's not Gold, and it's not Goldy. It's Fredbear." The gold bear spat and stormed off. Everyone stood dumbfounded as the gold bear trudged off angrily.
"Ok-o-ok-o-o-o-okay... wh-wh-wh-what j-ju-jus-ju-just happened?" Bonnie muttered.
"Goldy just gave us a history lesson." Tg summarized.
"Wait, Fredbear!?" The gold bunny cried before running after Goldy.
"Not now, Benny." Goldy retorted.
"But, wait! We haven't seen each other in years! At least give me a hug or something!" Benny replied.
"No! Just... leave me alone. I need to be alone." Goldy replied. Benny stood in distraught, watching Goldy walk to the Parts and Service room.
"So wait, your name is Benny?" Rick asked. Benny turned around to face the other animatronics.
"What did you do to Fredbear?" He sneered.
"Wha'? Wha' do ye mean?" Foxy asked.
"What. Did you do. To Fredbear?" Benny repeated, this time more menacingly.
"We didn't do anything." Wan said. "Goldy is-"
"His name is Fredbear! Not Goldy!" Benny interjected angrily.
"Alright! We all obviously know Goldy through different names, but we are talking about the same individual." Freddy said. "Now, before we answer anymore of you questions, you should answer ours." Benny growled loudly.
"Look pal, you're not in a position to fight back. I suggest you just go with the flow." Tg told the gold bunny.
"What do you want to know?" Benny asked, still quite angry.
"First, I want to know what you are." Freddy said.
"I am Benny. I was the second animatronic created along side Fredbear." Benny answered.
"Alright, we know that. And why do you call my brother Fredbear?" Freddy asked.
"Because he was the first animatronic created at Fredbear's Family Diner." Benny said simply.
"Both of you were there at that pizzeria?" Chica asked. Benny just nodded.
"But, why are you in such horrible condition?" Teddy questioned.
"Simple. Thirty. Freakin'. Years." Benny said.
"Okay, how about-"
"No, I've answered questions. You answer mine." Benny interrupted.
"Fair enough." Freddy replied.
"I know Goldy is the name you gave Fredbear, but why is he so mad? He never had a mean personality before." Benny said.
"We cannot answer that, for we aren't aware of the reason ourselves." Teddy replied.
"Okay, did you guys do anything to him?" Benny questioned.
"No, we didn't do anything to him, he's his own... animatronic." Blu answered. Benny fell silent as he looked at the ground, his ears drooping beside his head.
"Maybe it's because I left him. Because he was all alone after I was deactivated." Benny sighed.
"Why were ye deac'iva'ed?" Foxy implored.
"Too many complications." Benny said.
"Hey, before we do anything else, can we try and get Goldy? Or Fredbear?" Chira asked.
"I think that's a splendid idea." Teddy beamed. Freddy nodded in agreement, he was deeply worried about his brother. The group walked off toward the Parts and Service room. Freddy knocked on the door softly.
"Goldy?" He called.
"Go away." Goldy's voice replied.
"Yeah right." Freddy said bluntly. "What is wrong with you?"
"Nothing is wrong with me, Freddy Fazbear." Goldy retorted, as if Freddy's name was an insult.
"Goldy, open up. Or Fredbear." Freddy replied. There was no reply, but the door suddenly clicked. Freddy smirked and opened the door. The bear walked into a completely dark room.
"How can you see in here?" Freddy asked, motioning for the others to wait outside.
"It's not that hard." Goldy said. "Especially when you lived in it for years after being abandoned."
"Why are you bringing that up?" Freddy asked his brother, arching both eyebrows.
"Because, Benny has been through it for thirty years. I feel his pain. It's getting to me. It's hurting me." Goldy said, tears starting to fall from his face.
"Oh, I underst-"
"NO YOU DON'T!" Goldy screamed, breathing heavily afterwards. Freddy stared at the gold bear in shock. "Don't you dare act like you understand. You will never understand what it means when you realize that no one. Loves you."
"G-Goldy... I don't know how you can say that. I-I'm right here in f-front of you." Freddy replied.
"Freddy, you don't hear yourself, do you?" Goldy asked, breathing heavily through his sentences. Freddy fell silent. Goldy's breathing was inconsistent and choppy. "You don't understand. You don't know what it feels like to have everyone shun you and lock you away for no one to find."
"You're right, I don't know how it feels. But you do." Freddy replied.
"That's what I just said, dummy!" Goldy snapped.
"Listen to me, Fredbear!" Freddy countered in the same tone as Goldy. "You know how it feels, and you know Benny feels similarly. So why put yourselves through it again?" Goldy stared at Freddy confusedly. Angrily, but confusedly.
"What?" Goldy muttered.
"You two posses the same emotions, from the same experience, from the same sadness." Freddy clarified. "What I'm saying is, you two understand each other. You two can comfort each other, heal each others pain." Goldy seemed brighten up a bit at the thought.
Freddy sighed, "I'm sorry I don't understand you. I'm sorry I can't comprehend the emotions that you're feeling, especially because you're my brother. But if someone else can help you heal, go for it. And even if you no longer consider me a brother to you, you will always be a brother to me." Goldy looked up at Freddy, astonishment in his eyes. The brown bear walked out of the room, even though there was no source of light to be found. A light clank was heard and Goldy's ears perked up.
"Ow... that's a wall." Freddy's voice muttered. Goldy couldn't help but giggle.
"Freddy, the door is to your right." Goldy said.
"Thank you." Freddy replied before another clank sounded. "I'm going to hope that's not the same wall."
"It's not, just turn right a bit." Goldy instructed, Freddy did so slowly. Goldy giggled again and walked toward Freddy. He grabbed his elbows and turned him toward the direction of the door.
"There, now go straight." Goldy said. Freddy sighed in relief and walked forward. "Oh wait!" Clank! "Sorry... the door's not open." Freddy sighed again. Goldy felt a bit embarrassed at this point as he opened the door for Freddy.
"Thank you." Freddy said simply, his top hat covering his eyes, and he walked out. Goldy closed the door behind the brown bear. He stared into the black abyss in front of him, even though he could see perfectly well. After his conversation with Freddy, he wasn't sure how to feel. He wasn't sure if he was supposed to run into Freddy's arms or Benny's. Or was he just going to keep himself in solitude? He felt lost, yet somehow found. He knew where he was, he knew who his family was, and he knew who he was. What he didn't know was, where is he supposed to go?
