Hello Loves! Apparently in cyrosleep you wouldn't dream because your brain is basically dead, but you know what screw science. They are dreaming. Hope you enjoy, it is pretty short and I am sorry for that. Give me your ideas and I can bring them to life for you! Love you all, Macey.
Will we dream?
It was a good question. He wondered it himself. Ten years of sleep, would it feel like a second? Would he forget what was real?
He wondered if Clarke was as scared as he was when the tube closed on him. A wall of cold hit him. He shook for a second, fear creeping in his mind that he was dying. Then he couldn't remember anything.
...
It was warm here. He could feel the heat of the sun on his face as he lay in the grass. His eyes blinked open as the bright light shone in his eyes. He sat up looking around.
His first thought was of how green the world was. Everything was bright. The sky was such a deep blue, no clouds in sight. The meadow he was in was a dark green, flowers poking out with dashes of yellow and red and lavender. There was a tree nearby, a big oak one that would be perfect to have a picnic under.
He wasn't quite for sure of where he was. He wasn't for sure of anything really. Who he was, what he was...
"Bellamy!"
He turned to see his sister running to him. She was wearing a white dress, similar style to the clothes he was wearing. She had a smile on her face, which made his heart swell with happiness. He knew he liked it that she was smiling, but couldn't remember why.
"There you are silly! We are all waiting for you!"
Bellamy pushed himself up from the ground, shakily finding his balance.
"Everyone?"
"Yes! We weren't going to start the party without you!"
Bellamy analyzed the girl in front of him. She was barefoot. There were flowers in her hair. He reached out to touch one.
"You like it?" she laughed, "The little ones have been making flower crowns. I couldn't say no."
He reached out to embrace her.
"I've missed you O".
He wasn't for sure where she had been, but he knew that she had been hurting before. But now her arms wrapped tightly around him. "I am going to be ok Bell."
She pulled away and grabbed his hand. "Come one, everyone is going to want to see you."
The world seemed to shimmer with each step they took. More appeared as he looked closer, and soon he could see people sitting at a picnic table. Their faces were blurry, but one figure stood up and walked towards them.
"Lincoln!" Octavia shouted, dropping Bellamy's hand. Bellamy stood staring at him. For some reason he knew that he shouldn't be here.
Lincoln picked up and twirled his sister. She was laughing. A tear came to Bellamy's eye. Lincoln put her down and walked over to Bellamy.
"Good to see you again Blake," he said putting a hand on Bellamy's shoulder. The touch sent a jolt of electricity down his body.
"Lincoln. I never meant for this to happen to you."
"I know."
Lincoln let him go, turning to take Octavia's hand. The two headed back to the picnic table. More faces came into view. Familiar faces somehow that were sitting on the ground wearing white. There was a chorus of hellos from them with smiles and nods. A little girl got up and gave him a hug. She pulled back with a look of disapproval, but he knew she didn't mean it.
"You're late."
He messed her hair. "I'm sorry Charlotte."
She grinned up and hugged him again. "That's ok. I'm sorry that I left you earlier. It wasn't your fault."
Bellamy held her tight, afraid that he let go she might fall. But the little girl pulled away and to his relief she stayed on her feet.
"You know she's been worried sick about you."
A look of confusion passed his face. "Who?"
A soft voice came from behind him.
"Hello Bellamy."
Bellamy spun around to see a the most beautiful woman behind him.
"Mom."
She opened her arms and he wasted no time in running to them. He was crying as he felt the familiar feeling of her arms wrapped around him. He had forgotten how this felt, this unconditional love that his mom gave him. He had forgotten that she smelled like a mix of vanilla and grease. That she would rub little circles around his back to make him feel better.
"I've missed you so much."
"I've missed you too darling," she said. "You are doing so well."
"I...I have tried to take care of her mom."
"I know."
"I have tried to be the good guy."
"I know."
She held him like that for awhile. It could have been minutes, or hours, or even an eternity in her arms. She whispered words of praise in his ear.
"I am so proud of you darling. My darling boy, my brave little warrior."
Finally his mom said, "You should probably go see her. She'll be wondering where you are at."
Bellamy pulled away. "She will?"
His mother gave a little laugh. "Oh yes, she's a firecracker you know. But I think she's the best girl for you darling, I really do."
Bellamy nodded, curious about her but also not wanting to leave his mother again.
"It's ok Bellamy. She needs you now more than me. Go."
With one last fleeting glance he walked away from his mother.
She was facing away from him when she appeared. She was overlooking what seemed to be a valley. There were birds flying overhead and she watched them, turning to follow their flight across the sky, her eyes eventually landing on Bellamy.
"Hi Bellamy."
Bellamy strode to her and she met him halfway. Her arms wrapped around his neck as he pulled her waist towards him. She buried himself in his shoulder and he felt like he was home.
"Clarke."
When they pulled away she grabbed his hand, turning to look at the valley.
"Isn't it beautiful?" she asked, her head dropping to his shoulder.
"Yeah it is. I wish we could have lived here."
Clarke sighed. "It would have been wonderful. But we will find another one."
He felt safe here with her. He felt like he could stay in this moment forever with her.
"What are we going to do Clarke?" he asked, his arm around her waist tightening ever so slightly.
"I don't know. But we've made it this far right?"
Clarke turned to Bellamy, meeting his eyes. "I love you Bellamy Blake."
His choked on his words. "I love you too Clarke."
She smiled a soft and sad smile. "It's time to wake up now though."
Bellamy shook his head. "I think I will just stay here."
Clarke laughed and Bellamy's heart was soaring. Everything was so green, so warm, so happy. He wasn't ready to leave it behind.
Clarke kissed his cheek.
"They need us."
Bellamy held onto her tightly as the world around him was consumed by the blackness and slowly she disappeared as well.
...
...
...
Look what you have done.
The whisper came from behind her. She turned around but no one was there.
You left us to die.
The voice chimed in. She closed her eyes hoping that the voices would go away, but they got louder with each word.
You murdered me.
You took me away from my son.
You killed my child.
You made me kill my closest friend.
All hail Blood Reina.
The voices spat them at her, echoing over and over again. She could feel them getting closer and closer.
Her eyes opened to see their faces.
Their cold eyes stared at her. Women, Men, Children. She recognized many of them. A bullet hole through the forehead. A slash across their throat. Drained of color, as if they had faded away.
You did this Blood Reina. You did this to me.
"I...I had to..." she stammered, taking a step backwards in the dark.
You left me outside to burn.
I was just trying to save my sister, and you threw me in the pit.
You made me eat my own father.
She turned to run into the endless void of black, but the voices followed her.
We were your people Octavia.
We were the hundred.
Why did you leave me outside Octavia.
She felt herself stumble and she hit the ground. They got closer.
How could you do this Octavia?
I was your friend.
She felt herself suffocating under their weight. It felt as if she was under the floorboards again.
How could you betray your own brother? After all he's done for you?
She closed her eyes, screaming for them to go away.
WHY OCTAVIA?
WE TRUSTED YOU.
Octavia.
His voice was calm, yet it broke through the noise like a spear. She opened her eyes and could see his hand reaching out for her. She took it.
She was in a bed.
A wooden ceiling looked back at her.
"Hello beautiful."
She turned on her side to see him laying beside her.
"Lincoln."
She launched herself at him, pressing her lips to his and letting his strong hands wrap around her. Tears were streaming down her face as she choked back a sob.
"Hey, hey it's alright. I'm here," he said, pulling back so he could look in her eyes. His hand went to her head, running his fingers through her hair to calm her down.
"I've missed you."
"I've miss you too."
"I'm sorry."
He shook his head. "I am sorry for leaving you."
"I have done some terrible things since you've died."
"You were lost," he said, "You did what you thought you had to."
He pulled her back into him, softly kissing her. "It will all be ok."
She rolled off of him so she could curl into his side.
"Can we stay like this forever?" she asked him.
He kissed her hair. "Not forever. You still have a life to live. But we can stay here for awhile."
...
...
...
She opened her eyes to the wooden ceiling of a cabin. She was in a soft bed with a big quilt on her. She didn't quite remember anything but she was so warm. And so happy.
"Well look who finally decided to wake up."
She shot up. There he was. He was sitting at a kitchen table, reading a book, looking at her with an amused look. He looked just like the day he left her.
"Dad."
She stumbled over to him, overwhelmed with emotion as she reached for him. He was solid in her arms. He was so very real.
He smelled like the cologne he always wore mixed with sweat. He was wearing that flannel shirt that she would make fun of him for wearing. He was there.
"Hey baby," he said as she cried into his shoulder, "it's alright I am here. I am so proud of you Clarke. You are so brave."
She wanted to stay like that, but her dad pulled her away.
"Let me get a look at you. You look so grown up! I swear just yesterday you were up to my waist!"
She laughed with him. It felt good to laugh.
"I know. I have a daughter now." The memory of Madi came to her suddenly and clear as day.
He smiled at her. "I know. She acts just like you. She's probably looking for you?"
"Where is Madi?" she asked, looking around the cabin.
"She's at the bonfire already. Told her I would send you along when you woke up."
"The bonfire?" she asked.
He chuckled. "Of course! Everyone is going to be there. I bet they will be excited to see you."
"Are you coming?" she asked.
He shook his head. "No darling I think I'll let you have your fun."
Clarke wrapped her arms around his neck once more.
"I've missed you dad. So much."
"I've missed you too." He gave her one last squeeze before letting her go. "Now go, they are waiting."
Clarke gave her father one last fleeting glance. He smiled and waved as she walked out the front door.
The air was a little chilly, but she could see a bonfire not far away. There were people crowded around it. She could hear the chatter and laughter. Someone was strumming a guitar absentmindedly. The leaves crunched under her feet. She started to feel the heat of the fire when she heard her name being shouted.
"Clarke!"
A wave of relief came over her. "Madi."
The girl ran into her arms and Clarke kissed the top of her head.
"Clarke, come on! Wells has been waiting forever to see you!"
Clarke pulled away, her eyes roaming straight to her old best friend.
"Wells!"
He laughed as he caught her. "Hey slow down Clarke. I've missed you too!"
She started to tear up. "I feel like it's been forever since you've been gone."
"I know," he said, suddenly seriously. "I wish I could of stayed around longer."
She just wanted to look at him for awhile, but he grabbed her hand and led her closer to the fire. "There are lots of people who want to see you Clarke. I wish I could just keep you to myself, but he might get a bit irritated with me."
"Who?" Clarke asked, but before she got her answer Finn was standing in front of her.
"Hey Clarke."
She reached out and hugged him in a daze.
"I- I'm sorry Finn. I didn't want to-"
"I know. You have no reason to be sorry. You saved me I think."
"You've saved a lot of people," Well chimed in. "A lot Clarke."
She looked at the two boys in front of her. They were here. They were real.
"It's been so long," she said, "I don't even remember what I wanted to say anymore."
"That's alright, like Wells said here," Finn said clapping his hand on the boy's shoulder, "We don't want to keep you too long from him."
Before Clarke had time to think about who he was again, a voice came from behind her.
"Well if it isn't Clarke Griffen."
She spun around to see Jasper grinning at her. Her heart broke into two.
"Jasper. I-I am sorry. I didn't want you-"
He cut her off by embracing her. "I forgive you."
She pulled back into his eyes.
"No, I-"
"Shhhh, " he said. " I forgive you."
He grinned and walked past her to a girl with short brown hair. He interlocked his fingers in his and they walked away.
She smiled as she watched them. Turning back to the campfire she realized how much at ease she felt. The soft strum of a familiar song filled the air. She started to sway along, looking at the familiar faces. All of her friends were there. Harper was curled in Monty's side. There was Monroe laughing at Miller's joke. A little girl waved at her in between her parents.
"Hey there stranger."
She spun around.
"Lexa."
The girl was just as she remembered. Same brown braids tied back. Same bright eyes. Same butterflies in the stomach when she was in her arms.
"I've missed you too Clarke," Lexa laughed at Clarke's tight embrace.
She pulled away, wiping a tear from her eye.
"It could of been so different Lexa," she said. "If you would of been there then there would have been no battle to get the bunker."
Lexa shook her head, putting an arm on Clarke's shoulder. "It wouldn't have changed things. A decision would of still had to be made and who says that mine would of been better than Octavia's."
It felt like Lexa was looking into her soul, like she used to.
"We could of been happy."
Lexa shook her head. "Don't think of could of beens. You can still be happy. You are happy."
"Madi." She smiled. "You would love her. She has the same fighting spirit as you."
"I bet she gets that from her mom. You taught her well. She is strong."
Unlike everyone else, it didn't feel normal to be around Lexa. It felt like it was for those few days they had together when she thought they could be happy. But it also felt unreal, that so much had happened nothing could ever be normal. As much as she loved Lexa, she felt in her heart that it wasn't meant to be.
It was almost as if Lexa could read her mind at that moment.
"He's looking for you. You better go find him."
She peered at Lexa, wanting to remember who was looking for her.
"Do you like him?" she asked suddenly, wanting reassurance. Whoever this was had to be important.
Lexa gave a weak smile, pulling Clarke into one last hug.
"He is a great guy. Now go."
She pulled away from Lexa, seeing him over her shoulder. The sudden familiarity of the black curls comforted her. She walked towards him, not looking back.
He was sitting on a blanket on the ground. He looked up at her as she approached with those warm eyes and she felt loved.
"Hey," he said as she sat down beside him.
"Hey."
She laid her head on his shoulder and he put his arm around her. She could see Madi laughing with her mom and Kane at the fire. Her family was all here. She felt safe.
She felt at home.
Her eyes fluttered shut as the world around her began to disappear into the dark.
...
...
...
...
There was a tear on her cheek when she woke up. It had felt so real.
She got up and walked over to where he was sleeping.
So very real.
His eyes fluttered open and the same feeling of love washed over her.
"Hey."
