Hello-so I know this one is short-this is the shortest one I think I have ever written but there is a reason for this
A) I cannot write labour scenes very well
B) This chapter is more a filler so is therefore short
C) I am so bogged down with work I cannot even begin to describe what it's like
So the next chapter I promise you will be longer (this is the first chapter I have done where everything has been from Theresa's point of view)
I am not a medical expert so I am not sure how this turned out
Disclaimer-nothing is mine
Let me know what you thought-I will try to update soon but It might be a while.
Chapter 36-Joe Reagan
The First of the third generation of Reagan's is born.
The first pains didn't start till much later. Ok that was a lie. Theresa had been experiencing the pain since Sunday dinner. Indigestion as she was frequently told by Jack who had taken it upon himself to become some sort of pregnancy guru told her often.
It had been one of those nights where she felt the baby playing on her bladder more than she would have liked to admit and at she realised that the wetness she was currently sitting In wasn't due to her wetting herself.
Well shit.
Frank came to the door with the look of a man who had been expecting this for a while but the screaming and the gun in his hand indicated he had initially thought it was something else.
"Ambulance" he asked innocently and Theresa shook her head "No need" she said through gritted teeth "Just get Jack here"
When Jack did slam through the door half an hour later (she'd worry that the drive from Frank's house from Jack's was longer than that later) Theresa knew it was only a matter of time.
"You should be in a hospital" Linda said ripping the bed apart and wincing slightly as she saw blood on the sheets.
"Like hell" she said grabbing Jack's hand. "It's too late"
"Why the hell didn't you ring me sooner then?" Jack asked and as another fresh wave of pain hit here Theresa blinked back her tears "Sorry" she wailed and Jack pressed a kiss into her matted hair.
"No it's ok babe, I promise you it's ok" and Theresa felt like screaming because of course it wasn't ok-how the hell was anything going to be ok when Jack-the rock in the hard place was leaving her in barely two weeks?
It was said that you can remember everything that happened in labour-Theresa thought that to be a complete and utter load of bull. She drifted in an out for nearly two hours with nothing but Jack's face to focus on, not that she minded looking at Jack-in a roundabout way it was what got her into this situation.
"There you go" Linda said and with one last push she pressed something that was screaming into Jack's arms who looked up his face shining. And Theresa felt something inside her swell for this man. "It's a boy" he muttered as Linda tactfully left the room and Theresa grinned back sitting up and wincing.
"Well then there's only one name for him" she said smiling at the sight of Jack holding her son. No their son.
She jerked her head downstairs. "Go and tell Joe Reagan has decided to make an early appearance"
Jack grinned his eyes bright and his head falling back with his laugh. And yeah, Theresa was so gone on this man.
Was there ever any other name?
Next Chapter-Jack comes home from basic training and it's Danny that realises that his son is hiding something
